Personally, I think he was 5ft 7.5in peak and just rounded up. When I see him next to 5ft 9in James Bolam, I see more than an inch difference, but not two inches.

They didn't fall out. The series ended and James Bolam moved on to other things. Rodney Bewes was 5'7".

@ Rob - What a shame that they had a falling out. I never knew that, Rob!
Although they're 80,it isn't too late to make up; I'm sure they wouldn't regret it! Life is too short for fallings out! Far, far too short!

He's 80 years old. If he listed himself as 5'8" in the 1970's, he's most likely 5'6" today.

Ah! Smashing, Rob! You've produced the other 'Likely Lad'! I wondered if you would! His statement of 5ft8 seems correct for him! He didn't come over as the sort of guy to pull a fast one! He appeared a little less full of himself than his comic acting partner, James Bolam, though he didn't last as quite long in the business. It would be nice to see him making a come-back!

Rodders gets 5ft8, but he'll probably have lost a bit by now!
Editor Rob: yeah, you can't have one without the other, I think Bolam did seem a bit taller.

I don't think either of them are giving inflated heights, well by much anyway, shame they had a long-standing falling out over a little story Rodney had told in mid 70's.

Heights are barefeet estimates, derived from quotations, official websites, agency resumes, in person encounters with actors at conventions and pictures/films.
