Nike Air Max 1 were first launched in 1987, and started the hugely popular Air Max series, with air cushioned sole providing great comfort.

In terms of thickness, they do provide a decent boost to your height. In the video below I measured Air Max 1 as being about 3.4cm, or 1 and 1/3rd of an inch.
