176cm. Don't let his pencil thin frame fool you.

Still think he would measure 5'10 at noon tbh.
Bad posture usually brings him lower.

Rob how Come Tom Hanks looks 179-182cm near him liké 2-5cm taller defenetly under 6ft today
Editor Rob: overall I thought Tom could be 4-5cm taller than Abdi, who generally seems pretty close to 5ft 10.

What you said is true. I've seen a lot of US born/raised teens that tower over their third world immigrant parents. I think it's due to the western diet and nutrition that their parents lacked while growing up. Sometimes even the daughters are taller than both their fathers and mothers.

5'9.5 was always my first guess.

His unique appearance always made me assume he was something like 6'5"!

Definitely below the average for a Somali man that grew up in the West but he arrived at the age of 14. Looks the full 5'10 next to Tom Hanks most of the time although there is the odd pic where he's dropping a tad. We have to keep in mind his posture.
Where would you put his costars Faysal and Mahat? Faysal's got at least 4 inches on Tom Hanks from what I've seen and Mahat seems to be around his height maybe a shade taller.
Kind of astonishing how East African men from certain cultures have grown so much in the west. South Sudanese and Somali men particularly are almost never even close to their parents heights when growing up here. I myself am taller than my father by at least 3 inches and my brother has my father by 6. I truly have never seen a Somali boy growing up shorter or the same height as his father. Always taller by a considerable margin. The wars and famine have really taken a toll.
