Eddie Hall's Height
6ft 1 ¾ (187.3 cm)
English Strongman, and 2017's World Strongest man. He has described himself as being a "6' 3". 30-1/2 stone / 420lbs" and on another occasion "I'm 6ft 3in and 28 stone. Ideally, someone my height needs to be 15 or 16 stone." In 2020 he described himself as a "Six-Foot Two and a Half guy". In 2020 he showed a video in which he got 190.1cm on a Stadiometer, although he pushed himself up to achieve it.
I’m 6ft 2.5in and [Hafthor's] 6ft 9in, but I think people are now gauging how seriously I’m taking this.

Tommy Fury must work like a trooper in the gym, most guys, even most gym rats would look small next to Eddie but he doesn't! To put things in perspective on what a monster he is, Eddie could deadlift close to 200 kg (440 lbs) more than Arnie and John Cena could in their primes!!

He seems that way, though how much of the nice guy image is put on and is playing up for the cameras.... I haven't seen any of his videos since I saw the Wim Hof one a year ago, but I watched a lot of his videos a few years back.

Eddie is most certainly anything between 6'2-6'2.25 (188-188.5cm). He could probably make 6'3 flat with shoes. The fact he used to say he was 6'3.5 and sometimes even 6'4 is ridiculous.

@Njp fourc things: One, that was a shoe measurement. Two, Eric is 6 foot in shoes and was shorter than Eddie so he's looking up at tape which would make measurement look higher to him due to the angle. Three, it's not an accurate way to measure. And four, he tends to be slightly generous on height calls when doing these.

And one thing to consider about how much a shoe adds is the weight of the person wearing them. If someone 150 lbs wear for example Nike air max and they give 1,25 inch. Someone 300+ lbs wearing the same shoe model will "sink through the sole more and maybe only get 1 inch from them if even that. Running shoes and so on have soft sole designed som give a bit.

Eddie shouldn't really be trying to claim anything over 6ft 2, if he said 6ft 1-2 barefoot he'd be believed!
To be fair Eddie was cool about it, he could have got upset like some of the others! Yeah he seems to be around 6'2.5 in sneakers, I think we were right all along on 187 cm barefoot. Still super heavy at 367 pounds even slimming down for the boxing. I'm a mere 195 pounds currently, he's almost twice my weight!

If we called Paddy 6 ft 5 I can see a genuine strong 7 ft 0 range, but doesn't look 7'1-7'2 like the Dutch Giant to me but others may disagree. What I can see is a legit 7'0.5, measured at near 7'2 in sneakers in the morning and going with that claim.

Six feet flat in socks is what I'd bet cash money on as I've witnessed it with my own eyes, it took me a while to recognise him, eventually I had to search for the tat on my phone and by hat time he'd scampered away.

I estimated Hof at 5 ft 11 barefoot standing with Eddie in trainers. Hof is listed at 182cm but is now 63 years old. In comparison I would say Eddie at near 6 ft 2 barefoot checks out. Caught another glimpse of that Pat guy and there's no chance he's a legit 6'5.5!

When i saw eddie hall on the worlds strongest man i never thought he was 6'3" no way. I had him at 6'1" at a push. Becouse there was just so many really big men there. And most were over 6'3" some were 6'6" and with there build they were huge guys. One or two guys were 6'7" and one was 6'9" of pure muscle, i think he won it that year and no wonder he was just throwing everything out his way or over him and the truck pulling competition wich is so hard but the giant man when he got going he got it well over the line by two feet easy and a thought he could have went further, when i saw that i knew he was going to win it.

I only saw the Thor fight about 10 days ago, had completely forgotten about it. I knew it would be unnecessarily hyped anyway. Haven't watched Eddie pretty much since he was measured and I find Thor to be boring to watch, though seems like a good guy. Thor was definitely the better boxer and looks in good shape now he's lost over 100 pounds. To be fair, Eddie didn't look under 6'2 in the ring with Thor. Eddie would look much better if he got down to around 250. 18 stone is plenty for a 6'2 ish guy.

Eddie usually looks to be about up to Brian's mouth to nose level which for most head sizes would put the height difference at around 6" (I'm close to 6'2" and a 5'10" guy would have the top of his head RIGHT about at my eye level, and someone who is maybe 5'8" would be about the height difference to me as Eddie is to Brian - and I have a big head - so with that being ABOUT a 6 inch difference between 5'8" and my height, I would say with Eddie often coming up to Brian's nostril level when on level ground, a 6" height difference is PRETTY spot on - so I'd say Eddie is somewhere AROUND 6'2" or slightly under at worst.

Around 186cm at my lowest and only 14 stone 5 lbs currently. I've lost a little bulk and body fat from earlier in the year when I got into 15st range. 33 waist currently, heavier than I was at that a few summers back. Doing intermittent fasting for a prolonged period really improves your body and how you feel and it becomes easier to maintain it when you get into a habit. I do think doing a large number of pushups and situps daily seems to rev up your metabolism, I've somehow blasted away the Christmas calories! I've been lifting dumbells for nearly 25 years BTW!

Brian bought a $13,000 dumbell set I think it was last year and I think the heaviest is 130kg which is just out of his world ridiculous for a single dumbell. I've seen Eddie lift 100kg dumbells. I don't think he could do it when he attempted it more recently though. You run the risk of tears and damage from lifting that. I'm happy with my 40 kg dumbells for lots of reps!

Indeed his physique is impressive but do you think it’s possible to still be healthy at that weight range if your 6ft6? No doubt it’s all muscle but if still puts a strain on the body being 340 at 198cm.

Eddie could have put on his trainers for the 190 measurement of course, though he was barefoot earlier in the video. I would be surprised if he measured taller than Andy Murray on a stadiometer. I haven't watched anything from Eddie in a few months. All of the strongmen get boring to watch after a while, even with a personality like Eddie and a nice guy like Brian. And you realise that it takes a certain type of guy to get into strong man and there's some negative traits associated with that. As in any sport or art if you want to be the best in the world you have to sacrifice an enormous amount so naturally means being selfish and self obsessed on some things.

I haven't watched anything from Eddie in a few months. All of the strongmen get boring to watch after a while, even with a personality like Eddie and a nice guy like Brian. And you realise that it takes a certain type of guy to get into strong man and there's some negative traits associated with that. As in any sport or art if you want to be the best in the world you have to sacrifice an enormous amount so naturally means being selfish and self obsessed on some things.

Rob, I know Eddie has deadlifted 500 kg and squatted over 400 kg. I would think the extreme training that goes into working up to these amounts would equate to some height loss, wouldn’t you? It would be neat to get Eddie on the stadiometer directly before and after one of his immense deadlifts.

Haven't seen him for a while but I saw a link to him shotputting so I checked it out. His 14.5 metres for a beginner is very good, 23 metres world record is just insane. I think the same when I'm running the mile and cannot believe it is humanly possible to run 4 minutes! I wonder what Eddie's friend Pat claims, he can look 6'4-6'4.5 maybe next to Eddie in my opinion. Reminds me of Alan Shearer. Probably claims 6'5.

I don't know what you mean James, in my experience women tend to prefer the more aesthetic male physiques, decent muscle but not too beefy and more athletic. I don't think women tend to find the super bulky power lifter type attractive, but there's probably a percentage who like it.

It is very expensive eating 10,000 calories with a lot of meat a day for a start. Even that Polish guy Pud whatever his name lived in a small house, even after winning several times. I admire the sacrifice and dedication to it but I do think there's some negative traits which go hand in hand with strongman.
Yes, even Oberst said the the world storngmen competitors are "outcasts out of outcasts", he said it's one thing to take lifting weights to an extreme and wanting to become the strongest you possibly can, but a whole other level of obsession and sacrifice in wanting to become the world's strongest man. It is very expensive eating 10,000 calories with a lot of meat a day for a start. Even that Polish guy Pud whatever his name lived in a small house, even after winning several times. I believe that very fat or obese people are at least 2 3 cm shorter. Even if he is 30 years old. Yeah he is not normal obese people and he has too much muscle but still he is over 180 kg. So much weight causes the spine to shorten.

Editor RobEddie has certainly looked 6ft 1 to 1.5, but then if he can Bust a Gut I do think a proper measurement (rather than the 190cm one) could result in closer to 6ft 2...but yeah, I can see why a fair amount of the time he doesn't seem 6ft 1.5-2 range.

There is no way Eddie is 6 foot 3, or 6 foot 2.5. Look at him in videos with guys like Larry Wheels and Patty Mcguinness, Eddie is barely taller and sometimes even shorter than them. Take into account that he is wearing thick soled shoes as well. He is no where near 6 foot 3 or 2.5. He could be 6'1" in the morning and shrink half an inch, due to the guy being nearly twice the weight of your average Joe.
As far as the stadiometer measurement, no wear in the measuring part of the video do we see his feet, and he was jumping a bit to make himself taller. Seeing him next to other strong men that claim 6'2" and 6'3" and Eddie being a good inch or two shorter shows he is just lying. He's got an ego about it too.

When Eddie was measured he was standing on his toes somewhat, no doubt about that. Using his neck tattoo as a point of reference you can see he moves up a few cm.

We don't know wether he was tip toeing (the fact that it looked like he was "floatig" the first seconds of the measurement could be a clue, as well as the fact that we see his shoulders get suddenly noticeably higher) or if he was on shoes and on top of that he was laying before that "measurement" too btw. Tbh i don't think the argument "He's big and looks shorter" really stands either, considering the fact that it doesn't matter if we are looking at his head/eyes when comparing him with other people.

If he is measuremented 190 cm, he can't be shorten than 188 cm . When I saw him in 2015, he give me impression 185-186 cm guy. But he was too fat. Overweight may cause shortened height. Now his weight is down. He may have come back to his normal height

I also thought he was more a 6ft1 range guy initially but I think with really large guys like that they can have some height in reserve. Remember this guy is over 400lbs!

Didn't seem that much less beside Sheamus, 187 range looked believable, but then if he gets measured and stands his tallest he can be one of those guys who measures more than they look.
Keeping in mind he's three times the width of most women, anybody that broad is going to look shorter. Eddie said most people think he's 5 ft 8 or 9 and are surprised when they meet him!!
