Dakota reaches up to Elle's nose which would make her about 4 inches smaller ... and then take a look at the shoes ... Elle has about 2 inches platform advantage. And (eventhough this probably has no effect) Dakota might lose 1/4 inch from slouching slightly. So my estimation would be that Elle is between 2 and 3 inches taller than her sister, not more ...

First you say that you think that her mother is "5 feet 10" and that she is a "couple of inches taller" than Elle. But then you also say that "Elle is not 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8". Don't you know that 5 ft 10 minus 2 inches is equal to 5 ft 8? That is basic mathematics!

While Elle has been talking consistently about her own height, but people like to ignore what she says or they simply assume that she is not being honest.
About Elle's mother (Joy) I have seen picture where she looks slightly taller than her daughter, while in others she looks like having the same height. But I don't remember ever seeing a picture where I got the feeling that Elle looks taller. So I think that we can assume that Joy is slightly taller than Elle. Somewhere between 5'8" and 5'10". My personal estimation would be 5'9".

People lose 1 or 2 inches while they are walking, as you can see in this picture: Click Here .
So I think that if both would stand straight, then Elle would have pretty much the same height as her mother with those boots. Which would mean that with the boots Elle is between 5'9"-5'10", but without them she is between 5'7.5"-5'8".

Just because you're tall doesn't mean you have big feet. I'm 174 cm and my shoe size is 7 and my 6' tall sister's shoe size is 8.5. Anyways, anything over 5'7 for Elle is ludicrous.

@Saman Not in her profile-picture. But if you check out more recent pictures from Elle, you can clearly see that she grew a little since 2011. So I don't see any reason to doubt her "five-seven-and-three-quarters"-claim. Because she could have easily rounded it up to 5'8", like most people would have done.

If you are wondering why the young sister became so much taller than the older sister, it is actually not that unusual. Both of their parents are tall. Their father is listed as being 6ft3, while their mother looks like 5ft9. So, the fact that Elle became so tall, is therefore completely normal. The bigger surprise is that Dakota became so much smaller, with only 5ft4. But she probably took more from their grandmother, who is small as well.

I agree. The fact that they mentioned such an exact height can only mean that Elle measured herself recently. It would also make sense in therms of prediction, because she was around 5ft 7in at the end of 2011 when she was still 13.

Let's not forget that Elle usually wears some type of shoe with a heel or platform. I say she's still 5'7". That's judging from the pics of her with Dakota in south Korea, Elle is wearing chanel creepers with a 2-3 in platform while Dakota is in boots with a small heel or no heel (it's hard to tell from the picture)
