I'm watching Holly in 'Last Bus to Woodstock' and she's so amiable to Inspector Morse, and has a genuine passion for what she's reading at university, which is literature. She even persuades Morse to attend a lecture, but I must admit, he didn't take much persuasion!

@ Sandy Cowell - John Thaw must have played the part of a policeman very well if you rate him as being better at doing this than Sir David Jason and ain’t it lovely to hear about a police officer being described as “that nice policeman” or “that nice policewoman”! Being polite and showing respect make the world a much better place as does saying nice things about others, obedience is every bit as important too of course.

I’ve always liked inspector Frost too, it’s wonderful that Frost is 5’5” range as this shows that being successful at just about anything is nothing to do with height. Only on very limited occasions is height an obstacle, the only examples I can think about are the difficulties faced by short basketball players and tall jockeys however I’m not saying that someone can’t be good at what they do if they are a short basketball player or a tall Jockey. People can be good at macho jobs whatever their height and gender, it’s bravery and ability which count in these types of jobs not height or gender.

Hey, ain’t inspector Frost energetic, he’s always on the go and that will have helped him burn off all the calories he gained from eating so much on the job!

@ Nik - Inspector Morse, who played 'that nice policeman' (John Thaw) was the best TV cop I ever had the privilege of watching.

My second favourite was Inspector Jack Frost, who was played by David Jason, who is around the 5ft5 mark and very fit, famous for having performed his own stunts. He, too, was very capable at what he did and was as funny as Morse was clever! 😄👍

I've barely watched 'Waking The Dead' but when I saw Holly's little face in 'Inspector Morse' over the weekend, I knew she was familiar. She had a discussion about classical books with Morse and kept calling him 'that nice policeman', a statement with which I totally agree - the best TV detective EVER, and played by John Thaw, 5ft9.🏆

Holly was noticeably smaller than John, by around half a head or thereabouts. She looked up to him in more ways than one. She strikes me as open and honest and 5ft5 looks spot-on for this prolific acting talent who's starred in so much over the years.
