Really Rob, i believe James was taller than 181 at his peak. Neil Patrick Harris is 19 years old in this pic and clearly shorter than James Click Here

Im pretty sure Imdb listed James as 186cm few years back. Don't know why he is downgraded to 181cm now.

Editor RobA couple of visitors from CelebHeights regularly update imdb, but yeah I can see an argument for him looking 6ft range at times. I think closer to 6ft may be a better listing.
