Rob, Talbott's described as being a 'hefty 6-foot-2 actor' in this LA Times article from 1986.

Maybe 6ft1½?

Rob, any guesses for Michael Talbott?

Played Det. Stanley Stetwik on Vice. Now this guy looks at least 6ft1 if John's peak is accurate.

he could have cleared 6ft 1

He's looks roughly the same as Murray in Stripes and barely shorter than Candy...that's one instance where he looked 6ft1

I think 6ft0½ peak is more than reasonable. Today though it is possible at 70 he's a little shy of the 6ft mark
Editor Rob
the half may well be possible

I watched 'Falling Down' over the weekend, wherein John's young family meet with Michael Douglas, who has lost faith in the human race.

It's a sad film - with some black humour thrown in.

John looked just over 6ft.

good listing remmeber i thought he looked strong 6 foote in stargate.

He actually looks convincingly taller than Bill in that one shot!

I now think 6ft0½ peak and 6ft flat now or a fraction below at worst.

John may have a slight ground advantage over Bill and he's tilted his head back a little...but if you look closer you'll find he's slouching aswell. Yet to see Stripes in full though...
Editor Rob
Could have a little kerb advantage there.

'Falling Down', which I bought to show my brother, is an EXCELLENT film, as is 'A Time To Kill'. On the grounds that John starred in those films alone, he deserves a comment! 🎬📀💿

Mr John Diehl can have 6ft0.75 for his peak and 5ft11.75 for today's height.

😁👍

Thanks again, Rob. I didn't realize he was 70, he's held up well...strong 6ft range peak is fair game but like you said 6ft0½ could still be argued. I need to see Stripes again coz I could've sworn he looked close to Murray and not much shorter than John Candy. The current height could be possibly be a low range. He gave a tall impression on Miami Vice and The Shield.

Speaking of the The Shield, that needs to be mentioned as one of his most memorable roles. He was outstanding as the corrupt, unscrupulous Chief Ben Gilroy. Looked at least 6ft next to Michael Chiklis
Editor Rob
if you get a chance to watch Stripes, that might be the best film as he's absolute peak there

Definitely a 90s staple as a that guy kind of character actor. I would tend to agree he'd be more in the six foot range rather than 6'1".
