When friends said, ‘Eat a cheeseburger – you’re so skinny,’ I felt so much pride. Now I realise they meant, ‘You look like a skeleton.’
I’d weigh myself 10 times a day, wanting the pointer to go down another pound – and would freak out if it went up. Having weighed 8st my whole life – which at 5ft 2in felt right – I dropped to a dangerously unhealthy 6st. For me, depression and the eating disorder were a package deal.

Having seen Miss Stirling 6 times now I suppose I qualify as something of a fanboy. At 64, that is a bit odd, I know but we fans come in all ages and genders. This is because Lindsey uses her life experiences to inspire, to educate and to help those who will listen to her stories and music. Her story about that eating disorder is one she often tells and is featured in her song "Shatter Me". Her benifit shows for childrens hospitals are quite common. When I describe Lindsey Stirling to someone who has not heard of her I say that she is a dancing violinist who has the heart of Dolly Parton, is as beutiful as Taylor Swift but is twice as talanted and who has earned millions of fans worldwide. If you are a First Responder, go watch "Lindsey Stirling Angels We Have Heard On High" this song is dedicated to you. Oh and lest I forget, her music is like nothing you have heard before, her shows are even better yet! Thank you

I saw her once, performing, live. I didn't get up close to see her because tickets were pricey.

Damn, didn't expect to see her on here, recent addition Rob?
Yeah I am sure her name was mentioned before, and I did see her quote. I can believe her claim.

I do like Lindsey's fashion sense and wild pink hair, and it's rather delightful to welcome a violinist into the happy family that is Celebheights!
Normally, the violin is associated with classical music, but it has been successfully worked into many a great rock song. I remember a song by the rock outfit Curved Air called 'Vivaldi', and the violin-playing on that was outstanding. Often, the best prog rock bands play with a full orchestra, and look at the Electric Light Orchestra! They have violin players as part of their main line-up. And The Who have had violinist Nigel Kennedy play onstage with them.
I always say that classical music is THE basis of all music. I was brought up on it, never even hearing a pop song until I was five-and-a-half. I thought it was wonderful, happiness-inducing stuff!
Lindsey gets a petite 5ft2. 🎻😁🎄
