I don't personally think he looked any taller than Patrick Macnee in an Avengers episode. He also only looked about 2-3 inches taller than Diana Rigg in that same episode,and she wasn't wearing big heels. Could be a case that both he and Macnee were 182 zone,I'd totally rule out 184 anyway. I'm starting to think a weaker six foot for Davenport.

I wouldn't go over or under six foot for Davenport,I think a pretty classic six footer in his day. Looked exactly that with other actors of his vintage like Julian Glover,Caine and Moore.

It's a good thing you did not upgrade Davenport after all! You could argue 5'11.75" for both in this instance, although Piccoli is closer to the camera.

Rob, at around 7:50 below, Davenport looks quite a bit taller than Paul Scofield. Maybe 6'0.25" for Davenport and six feet flat for Scofield?

Editor RobIf same footwear then yeah he is likely taller. However in other films I wouldn't have classed Nigel as being a 184cm range guy, 6ft seemed to fit, maybe a touch over.

Hmm no I think six foot looks fairly reasonable for Nigel. Ive only seen him in a handful of things but he usually looks "about six foot". 5ft11.75 might well be more likely but id rule out anything below 5ft11.5. Age 53 in Minder he could look close to 3 inches taller than Dennis Waterman and about 1-1.5 inches shorter than Roger Moore in The Saint.

@ Rob - I've only just found your comment to my comment from the 6th of this month, so apologies for my delay in replying, especially as it was such a good one!
Sometimes I simply can't get interested in certain genres at particular times of the day! It makes an awful lot of sense what you wrote there! That also explains why some films are so much better the second and third times round!
Good food for thought to say the very least, and well worth digesting for someone like me who can't do much else but watch TV and write - until she has an operation to walk about again!

Editor Rob it's definitely a good idea to mix genre's up, also I feel when watching anything, a movie or tv episode, the time of day and mood can effect enjoyment.
As for Nigel, his son Jack Davenport inherited his tall stature, gaining an inch or so above what his Father reached...

Was Nigel in 'Living Free', the continuation about Elsa, the Lioness? I know that they used a different couple for the sequal of 'Born Free' which was this!
I have a copy of the two films downstairs, so the evidence will be there, that's if Nigel is on there, so I have a bit of 'homework' to do!
