I don’t know Robert’s films, but I recognise his name. So he was in a movie called ‘The Chase’, was he? I’m a fan of a different sort of Chase - the quiz show!

Rob, how tall would you say Norman Lloyd was at peak?
I would guess 5’10” for Lloyd’s younger days, as he was of a similar height to Cummings in Saboteur. I also thought Lloyd had approximately two inches on 5’8” Wallace Ford in The Green Years.

Editor RobLooking at his last few years he obviously had lost a fair few inches, but in his youth, over 5ft 9 is quite likely

Actually in some later scenes he looked noticeably shorter and no more than 5'10!! Might have worn lifts in scenes with Silvers you know, those boat shoes might have had something in them!

@Rob, this guy looked near an inch taller than Phil Silvers in Lucky Me, you can see them at 1 hr 17, and he's in boat shoes Click Here There is a better scene for comparison in it but can't find it now, he looked about 2 cm taller, there's a diff at 1hr 17:41 but not so good as he's nearer the camera but I think you can see he'd be a bit taller. He looks about 2cm taller than Silvers in it in the scene side by side somewhere else in the film. Difficult to see him at 5'10 and Silvers at 5'11!

If you look at the opening credits (both versions on-line) of Bob's 1964 TV series "My Living Doll", it's obvious why they don't show his footwear when 5' 11" co-star Julie Newmar finally stands alongside him (they are shown eye to eye, the same height). Not sure why he very suddenly left that series, leaving Julie to carry it mostly on her own. It ended shortly after.

Always thought he and Dana Andrews should have played brothers, for some reason they reminded me very much of each other but now that I look closely their facial features are fairly different.

Yeah, I think he could actually look sub-5'10" with Ronald Reagan, somehow he seemed shorter next to Reagan in King's Row than he did appear with Ray Milland in Dial M for Murder. Thanks for adding!

Cummings was a good two inches shorter than Ronald Reagan in King's Row. And Cummings was two inches taller than 5'8" Dwayne Hickman in The Bob Cummings Show. So 5'10" is spot on.
