I’m watching that episode of Inspector Morse right now, and Sheila has had me in hysterics! She flirts with the Inspector, boozes like it’s gone out of fashion and is moaning to him about ‘this bloody woman’! This bloody woman is the crippled wife of the man she (Sheila Williams actually) was having an affair with, who has now been murdered. WTF does she expect? 😂

At the centre of the plot is a much-prized, ancient piece of jewellery called The Wolvercote Tongue, 💎👅💎 and this is also the title of the episode.

At one time, I’d have expected to find 5ft7 for Roberta. She looks SO TALL next to the American tourists, but they are very elderly. Some are almost as sarcastic as Sheila, and that’s saying something!

I can’t give her under 5ft5.5, I’m afraid. 👅

Roberta starred in an episode of Inspector Morse, and her screen boyfriend in EastEnders did too!

Now I find out that's not the only thing they have in common; they're the same height as well, according to the source I just found!

Roberta is so funny in 'Inspector Morse', which I have on at the moment. She plays an emotional drunk and gets rather fresh with the Inspector, and somehow, I think that a man of his calibre prefers to do the chasing!

The episode is called 'The Wolvercote Tongue', and Inspector Morse is as rude as can be to poor old Lewis. I have a strong suspicion that the episode in which Morse's superior tells him what for about his treatment of his right hand man is just round the corner!

Aha! I've just spotted a character from 'Hellraiser II'. There's no doubt about it, 'Inspector Morse' contains a vast variety of talent....

5ft5 for Roberta Taylor, who I did think was considerably taller before she acquired her page here.

You know Rob, this has had to have been one of my biggest surprises to date!

It just goes to show how the commanding presence of an actor can bump up how tall we feel he/she might be!

Yet Roberta seems so much taller! I thought around two or three inches taller, I honestly did! I mean, in 'The Bill', she won't have even been wearing high shoes, being as she played a Police woman!

I found her immensely funny in 'EastEnders', and her conversations with Gavin Richards, the father of Tiffany and Simon, who played her gay son's boyfriend, were so funny, they were delicious!

My favourite part for her? Her flirty tour guide in 'Inspector Morse' (The Wolvercote Tongue), to some knowledgeable American tourists with an interest in Tudor history. The arguments were just so funny, especially with one called 'Janet'. Also, she flirted mercilessly with the Inspector, admitting to drinking too much! His reply? "So do I!"

She wore her dark hair long and glossy for the part, which I find can often 'overpower' a shorter woman, but it didn't her. I honestly thought from that episode that she was at least 5ft7! Well, the World is full of surprises and this is my first one today!

Terrific to see Roberta aboard celebheights!
