He was a bit above average height for his era. There are photos of him in his later years with Dick Van Dyke and he does look about 5'10 in them. It seems he was honest about his height.

I'm so happy to see that Walt Disney has a page! πŸ˜„πŸ‘

This great man, who gave and continues to give, so much pleasure to young and old alike, was born 119 years ago today, the 5th December, the Eve of St Nicholas's Day, St Nicholas being the Patron Saint of children. German children get a little gift in one of their slippers on the 6th day of December, and my German Mum did likewise for us when we were little. πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ

I found 5ft10 for Walt Disney, and that's exactly what Rob has him down as! That is precisely what he gets from me.

Walt passed on 10 days after his 65th Birthday, but lives on in the hearts of many and will do so forever and always. XXX πŸ’

RIP Walt πŸ•―οΈ XXπŸŽ…XX

If you were looking for an argument you could make a coherent case that Disney was the greatest figure in the performing arts of the Twentieth Century. Certainly the greatest showman. Who else would come close? None of the other great movie producers had such a wide range. Disney's innovations in animation alone are unchallenged. Disney sponsored composers and musicians, and built theme parks that are still turning profits. He is the only movie producer from the Twentieth Century who now has a movie studio bearing his name. (Unless Warner Brothers is still in business.)

Please check the downward links in my former post, particularly the footage of him with Dali. Maybe he was not taller than Dali, who was 1.72 m (5ft 7-3/4 in). No way he was 5ft 10 in ever!

@charlie Neither 5'7 or 5'10 are tall though, more like one was average now is short and the other was above average and is now the average.

Walt never looked 5 foot 10 even in shoes. I would say Walt was 5 foot 7 inches flat feet. He looked tall but not that tall.

Orlando, Disney in his 50's could have lost an inch of height to become 5'9.

His 1965 passport lists him at 5'10" Click Here But his 1918 passport application (aged 17) lists him at 5' 8" Click Here ... Look this 1957 photo of Disney next to 1.72 m Salvador Dali: Click Here and this very enlightening video Click Here Dali was wearing his famous alpargatas Click Here some 1.5 to 2 cm thick. Disney was wearing some 3 to 3.5 cm heeled formal shoes. Disney was 56 and Dali 53 years old. Disney does not come out as being 5'10"... More like 5' 9".

5'10 was probably the equivalent of a 5'11 adult male today back in the 1920s and 1930s. It could have been between borderline average and above average height.

I thought Disney was 5ft6 or only a slightly taller.

I once spoke with a person who was involved with filming Walt Disney's introductions to his television show, and he claimed that Disney was insisted the tables he stood behind when showing artwork or explaining things were not too tall, so he would appear taller.

Walt Disney is one of the only celebrities from old Hollywood who looks taller than the claimed height. I would have guessed him to be around 6' 0".

Huh? 19 going on 12! May I inquire as to what language is your native tongue?

As for Disney, I did meet him back in the 1950's. My dad knew him and one day we all went to lunch together at the Beverly Hills Brown Derby restaurant. My father was pitching an idea to him for a film using stop-motion animation.
