Yeah people in uni always told me I looked 6ft3-4 but I claimed 6ft1 and they didn't believe me. One time this attractive girl who claimed 5ft11 in my cohort asked me my height and I "lied" saying I was 6ft2.5 (the height I assumed I was in sneakers, to match the difference to her claim since I felt I was ~4 inches taller), and she was genuinely disappointed and thought I was 6ft4. I can't imagine her reaction if I told her my barefoot height which I thought was 6ft1 at the time. This was before I remeasured so in my mind I thought everyone was inflating their heights and I was the only one being honest since I did normally claim 6ft1.

Here are my height by age:

12: 158cm

13: 170cm

14: 176cm

15: 181cm

16: 185cm

at 17 & 18 my height was still roughly 185cm. At 18.5yo I remember measuring 6ft1 exactly.

Then at nearly 23yo I remeasured at 189.5cm. I did measure a couple times after that and got exactly 190cm. I'm not going to measure until I am 25yo since it can spiral into an obsession and I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

For reference the aproximate heights of my family members (in their prime):

Father: 196cm
Mother: 170cm

Paternal grandfather: 188cm
Paternal grandmother: 176cm

Maternal grandfather: 171cm
Maternal grandmother: 160cm

I never payed too much attention to my height at the time due to the academic pressure I had in Medical school. I did notice though that my shirts felt shorter on me and I didn't feel as short when sitting with others around a table. I didn't measure my wingspan regularily or super accurately but I do believe my wingspan was roughly 188cm when I was 16yo and it is exactly 190cm now, although that might be due to measuring error discrepancy. I know for a fact that my inseam has not changed at all since 16yo (35 inches), so all of my growth is in my torso. In fact my father who is 6ft5 only has a 34 inch inseam, which at 16yo lead me to believe that I would end up growing taller than him. Interesting how genetics work isn't it.

I wish my torso was longer since I feel like long legs/shorter torso only looks good on women. The swimmer long torso/shorter legs aesthetic is more masculine in my opinion.

Really fascinating how it works sometimes. You literally like gave up on measuring yourself and then boom haha. If i was you Im pretty sure that i would notice im growing taller than my friends who were same height before.
Did you also grew in wingspan? Also you can write your heights through age if its not problem, Im just curious right now...

I measured myself consistently between the ages of 12 and 18, almost to the point of obsession. So I know my exact heights by age.

At 18.5 I stopped measuring because I thought I was done since I didn't have any growth for two years (less than 1 cm). I didn't remeasure until I hit nearly 23 and was shocked that I got almost 2 inches more.

I was away from family during that time since I studied overseas and was unable to return home due to covid. But yes when I eventually got back my family noticed I got taller and more proportional.

I am not sure if I am done yet but will remeasure myself when I turn 25. I'm hoping for a bit more (1-2cm) in my torso so it can match my long legs.

Very interasting case. Did you and your family members noticed that you are growing, like did you have some actual measurements during that time. I had similar thing going but it was 2cm so it was not so visible, but 5 cm should be very visible gain at that age. What age did you completely stopped growing, like not even milimeters?

At the time I didn't feel like I was a late bloomer since I hit my spurt on time and did had some decent facial hair growth by the time I was 16 (moustache, sideburns, neck). Looking back though I certainly looked much younger at 16-18 then I do now in my 20s, with my facial hair becoming much thicker and facial structure developing more. Almost like I hit a second puberty in my early 20s.

After graduating high school at 18, before starting university I had more than half a year off and during that period I ate lots of food (though unhealthy), slept 10 hours most nights, and did a lot of mountain and road cycling. I think that's when my body started growing again, catching up due to poor diet, sleep and stress during schooltime.

One thing I will note is that my torso was comically short in highschool. My inseam is ~35" and I was only about 6ft. The extra two-ish inches that I got was all torso, and even still I feel like my legs are a bit too long for my body.

Did you have a signs of puberty ending between ages 16-18, like facial hair etc. Im wondering what can trigger such late growth spurt like yours. Maybe sport and a healthy lifestyle?

@SeanR: hogan I think was a mismeasurment when his mother claimed she measured him at 6’7 or he claimed she did. Maybe that was in shoes? But hogan has claimed 6’6 and 6’5 as well. So likely he was in between the two marks like listed. In the last dance next to Dennis Rodman when Rodman took his sabbatical during the 98 finals to wrestle, it looked 2” at times between them then 3 in one shot. So likely hogan had lost height by then. I know with Charles Barkley he looked shorter and I am confident that Barkley was not as tall as he is listed here. His teammates guessed him as 6’4”. My guess is he was over 6’4 but no more than 6’4 1/2” at his after and evening (6’4 5/8 was likely close to what he would measure).

Hogan may be under 6’3” today however so not sure what his claim is now or if he even acknowledges he has lost height

The top of Donald's head is about an inch up Barron's nose. Assuming no footwear mischief, I'm not seeing over 6'7 for Barron, just a flat 6'7.

Barron may actually be a bit over 6’7”. I agree with rampage and Arch. I also don’t believe trump is as low as 6’0.25 just yet but maybe he is. I’d have left him 6’0.5” esp when he was booked at 6’1 on his arrest. But he does wear lifts so who knows?

Trump is looking nearer 6 ft flat now, so I can totally get Rob seeing 7 inches between them and thinking 6'7 flat. Trump actually claimed 6 ft 9 for him Rob, just after he was elected I think, worth mentioning. I think this is a tad low, 201.5cm-202cm is arguable. Melania's dad was only an average, maybe a little over man, and mother only a little over average, not as if she is from a very tall family either! I guess it's like with Pierce's first son, two moderately tall sets of genes go wild! The question is if he's still growing. I know I remember thinking he would end up 6'7-6'8".

I think he's still growing and will reach 6ft 8. I grew a solid inch after the age of 19 myself and wasn't a super late bloomer. Out of the three sons of Donald, Eric lucked out the most in terms of height at 6'4" in my opinion. Being over 2 meters is too tall for most thing in life, and I'm sure Don Jr. isn't satisfied with 6ft flat given his ego.
