In an interview on blu-ray.com she said "The first thing I realized is that Charlie [Martin Smith] was about 5'4" and I'm 5'7" so I thought, "Well, that's that, I'm not going to get this one," so I just kind of gave up and didn't really push in the audition."

Editor RobCharles Martin Smith did look 5ft 4-5 in the film, I can see why she thought she might not have got the part.

Great choice of picture, Rob, from 'The Man Who Fell to Earth'! She had to carry David and kept on moaning at him that he was too thin. I didn't disbelieve that she could be 5ft7 because I kept comparing the two. Candy was also in Stephen King's 'Cat's Eye'.
That's exactly what I found for her when I checked out Candy's details - 5ft7. Rob approves, so that is what she gets.
