reading the post and looking at pics...James and Lenad, I'm thinking Denzel peak height was 6 feet 1 inches and he's now 6ft.05 now is very possible! Doesn't seem like the type to be dishonest and never looks short, even in the bone collector with 6 feet 2 inches John Goodman...was not dwarfed like some would think!

I watched american gangster and he was taller than josh brolin by 2inches. In the late show with david letterman he was an inch shorter. In the movie training day, he was a good 5 inches taller than co star ethan hawke, who is about 173cm. I would say denzel washington is 185 no taller or shorter. He doesn't look that tall but he is.

Also, I should mention he was seated at one of the KIDDIE tables, which is why I thought he wasn't very big. I'm only 5'1 and a buck and quarter and I can't sit at one of those tables. You can look at all the pictures you want and they will never tell the exact height unless it's a mug shot. There are far too many factors that make it hard to judge height by just looking at someone. Another reason is the fact that everyone sees things differently. Thats why we have those height scales in stores so if there is a robbery the cashier or witnesses will be better able to judge height when the robber is leaving out the door. Before that, police use to have a hard time with height in making out a description of the suspect because witnesses would tell them contradicting heights of suspects. One person would say 6ft, while another would say 5ft6, even though they saw the same person. Another thing is that it seems alot of people who comment here seem to want to be taller than celebs, so they accept evidence when a picture seems to say that a celeb is shorter, but reject evidence when it suggests a celeb is taller or the height he/she claims. Im sure that there are celebs who lie about their height, but im sure their are alot who don't. These people are very successful people and making millions, I honestly doubt they really feel the need to lie about being 6ft1, when in fact they are really 6.05ft. A persons height fluctuates throughout the day, being tallest when they wake from bed, and gradually shrinking throughout the day anywhere from half an inch to a full inch. So depending on wat time of the day a picture was taken of a celeb or was seen by someone here, the fact is if they been up all day and night promoting their movies and attending parties they may be slightly shorter since the discs in spinal cord compress more the longer you are standing up. It's also hard to believe some of the people who post here claiming they saw the celeb or their friend saw the celeb in question, in this case denzel, and they are sure that he is shorter. Im sure that there some people here who are delusional about their own height, after all, some seemed to be so obsessed whether a celeb is a quarter of an inch smaller or taller, i wouldn't be surprised that subconciously you "see" the celeb being shorter than you. So the fact someone here saw denzel at 5'10 because they were an inch taller than him doesn't mean anything to me since the witness maybe just as delusional about their own height as they claim the celebs are. when your body looks quite expanded and you are a 6'0" person you kinda look short & it's almost unbelievable when you tell people your height. i seem to believe he is 6'0.5". The only height i always wish i could ever be is 6'2" because i think it's more sleek and trendy and looks very fierce. am 5'10.5" & i have been around alot of 6'0" people and i dont ever feel short. I actually feel extremely comfortable.

I think Denzel tends to get casted with tall actors, so it makes him seem not as tall. He looks 6'-6'1" in his pics. A little bit taller than Ethan Hawk who looks 5'10"-5 11".

But was at least 3 - 4 inches smaller than self proclaimed 6'1.5! Jonathan Ross recently. I can't see Leno smaller than 5'10", perhaps Ross was wearing big heels.

Some people on here have said that he looked shorter than Val Kilmer in Deja Vu. To my eyes it wasn't the case. They are the same height.

I think he is at least 6'.05.... Too many 6'1 sightings and looks it in movies.... He looked only one inch shorter next to 6'2 Clive Owen in Inside man and looked it a lot elsewhere too.

i ordered the book By Any Means necessary.. The Making of Malcolm X. I'll investigate to see if Denzel claims to be "a shade under 6 foot." If this claim is indeed true, then Denzel has always worn small lifts, because during the premiere of Training Day he was 2 inches taller than Ethan Hawke who is 5'10.5. Denzel also appears a smidgen shorter than tom hanks, who is 6' even.

I bought my 5'11" 180 pound son, a sweater that Denzel wore as part of the wardrobe for The Great Debaters. It fits him perfectly...does that help at all? Not sure if shoulder to wrist measurements are able to determine an individuals size.

Ok Denzel is probably 6’ most of the time, but sometimes he could very well be 6’1” fresh out of bed.
And what if Michael Moriarty has been working hard and not getting much rest for a couple of days, he could be closer to 6’3” rather then his usual 6’4”. Combine these two scenarios together and what would normally be a 4” difference is now a 2.5” difference.

Well I'd say it says alot. In a military movie like the one the pic is taken from, I imagine the director (if he's good) would be constantly making sure that the men in uniform would be standing very straight, so there would hardly be any slouching from Michael Moriarty.
