I think 181-182 cm for Norton is more accurate. Looked at least 3 cm shorter than 6'1 Bill Murray. And about 3 cm taller than 5'10/5'10.5 Bruce Willis.

Him and Pitt look near identical height in almost all photo's I have seen. If we conclude the Pitt wears lifts and he doesn't, and Pitt is legit 5'11", then about 6' should be about right - maybe very slightly under, but I think 6 is fair.

you guys should quit estimating height solely by how someone looked in movies...you can take in into account but you need other sources as well...if an actor looks to short next to an actress, in ed's case liv tyler, then he is made taller ...elevator shoes, camera angles etc... as simple as that...this guy from twilight, not the vamp but that other black haired dude, stood on a box in a couple of scences cos he is too short lol....ed norton is a very weak 5'11 juding from how he looks next to his 5'1 gf..

He filmed parts of Moonrise Kingdom on my road and was in my yard on a number of occasions throughout the few weeks they were filming. He is definitly 6 ft tall. I'm 5-9 and he was easily 2 or 3 inches taller than me. Very nice man by the way.

Okay this might sound REALLY odd, but I just finished watching "Fight Club", and right at the end, when he and Helena are holding hand, I notice that they seem to be the same height (which appeared awkward, provided I was well aware of Helena's height (5'2'')). I'm quite certain that a shorter actor like Tom Cruise would never allow an accurate reading if a movie being filmed required him to stand against a height chart - it would probably be lowered two or three inches in order to depict him as being around 5'10". But the scene you describe sounds interesting - I'll try to watch the film.

Mug Shot in American History X had him well over the 6ft mark. Between 6'1-2 in against the height chart. Looked very tall through out the movie. He's a solid 6 foot in my opinion. I think a lot of people are fooled by his small build or something.

Alex, it's obvious this picture is bad and you cannot judge height by that. Pitt is closer to the camera and is standing on something, and on top of that the photo is tilted about 2 degrees in Pitt's favour.

Edward Norton was just on Conan O'brien and when standing in front of Conans desk shaking hands they looked to be almost the same height and it Edward Norton was wearing normal dress shoes. Conan is 6'4" so you do the math! There's no way he's under 6'. I'm not really sure why it's such a mystery.

I think Edward looked amazing in American History x, he realy has a nice tall build. I think he has the perfect height for a man. about 1.85 6'1 . I am at this moment 1.80 5'11 tall but I'm still growing I hope to become his height, my body build is simmalair to his to. Crossing thumbs :)

You find this type of build in many people of Anglo or Celtic decent. I do believe Mr. Norton is very close to 6'1" and I am sure as the movie release comes closer, we will see him on many late night shows promoting the film. Alright, I'm gonna start by saying that Fight Club the single worst movie to judge height on; okay to those who say "MeatLoaf was taller than Ed" look at the scene where bob is on the porch, when the narrator goes up to him you can see he's at least 2-3 inches taller, MeatLoaf is 5'9-5'10, Ed is 5'11-6'0.
Alright, I'm gonna start by saying that Fight Club the single worst movie to judge height on; okay to those who say "MeatLoaf was taller than Ed" look at the scene where bob is on the porch, when the narrator goes up to him you can see he's at least 2-3 inches taller, MeatLoaf is 5'9-5'10, Ed is 5'11-6'0.

He looked tall in American History X, but everyone seemed to dwarf him in Fight Club. I'd put him at 5'10.75" (180cm), at the most 5'11.25" (181cm)

If you look at Norton and Gere in one court seen during Primal Fear, there is a straight medium shot of the two standing side by side - both of their shoulders are almost level except Norton has a bird-like neck which is far longer than Gere's. This makes an extra two inches at least on Gere. I think that is why Norton is downgraded from a 6' - 6'1 guy because his build is very slight and unappealing - he is lankier around the neck than the legs or torso.
