if farrell is 5'10 then macgregor is 5'7. i saw on behind the scenes pictures of casandras dream and farrell was far taller. personally i reckon farrell is 5'10.5 so ewan is around 5'7.5-5'8.

I had thought Boorman to be around 5'8", surprised he is a 5'7"er. He looks to me 5'9" ish exactly as Glenn described him.

In my opinion 5'10.5" out of bed is a bit to high for Ewan, although I can buy 5'10" any time. In any case he is little under 5'10" midday, maybe 5'9.5" like Rob has him here. Btw I saw in Star Wars 2,5, max 3 inches between him and Hayden, camera tricks made it seem a little more though.

Longoria's comment is ridiculous. I hate when women that short call average height men short. Longoria can't call any guy over 5'5" short, she's barely 5'0"! I agree with Leung and Glenn that Eva is overrated. I personally like women atleast close to 5'4", but usually in the 5'4"-5'5" range. I'm about 5'8" so even though I'm not that tall, girls under 5'2" look like little kids at times.

Ewan can be standing on a box next to another actor for face shots. One can manipulate height so much on movies. Only real life evidence or past height logs (shorter or taller) are legit

She's barely 5' tall (and it's possible that she may be less than that) so I can't see how he would look short to her, given that he's nearly a foot taller. I met him just 2months ago and got a pic and im 5'4 and even after he bent down a bit, which you can clearly tell by the pic, he was at least like 4" taller then me..so yeah he's at least abt 5"9 i'd say

clearly a strong 5'10" guy. He looks it in every movie. Not tall-not short. Just a regular fella. Great height to be. With lose posture you can come across as a bit shortish but rather average , with the right shoes and strong posture getting in the "slightly tallish" department.(Bratt Pitt is the perfect example for that)

5'9 is not really NOT short. Its the average height of the American male. The average height used to be 5'8 about 50 years ago. The average height for women is 5'4. Which makes sense. 5 inches difference between the average male and female. I guess theres a myth that the average man is 6 ft tall. I stood right next to him and there's no way he's 5'9". I'm 5'7" and he was at the most an inch taller, and probably my same height. I put his height at between 5'7" - 5'8". He was wearing Chuck Taylors, so those shoes would not give him any extra height like if he were wearing boots or thick-soled shoes.

So assuming he is slouching Adding 1 inch for bad posture that would make him 5'7.5 + 1" = 5'8.5...Maybe 5'9.

In the most recent GQ British Issue, Daniel Craig is on the cover, and in the interview inside he comments on the spectulation regarding the decision made by the MGM studios to choose him over Mcgregor. He does look a very slight guy. He was dwarfed by 6'2" Jonathan Ross, and I'd put him at a very solid 5'9.5".

Just watched The Island dvd. I'm sitting here watching a scene where he's near Ethan Phillips. I've got a photo on my hard drive of Roberto standing with Ethan.
I'm thinking, whilst far from conclusive, McGregor appeared taller beside Ethan than the Editor does.
Conclusion? None really, just a small observation :=)

No, nothing written/shown here proves anything. I think I've provided some pretty strong evidence that McGregor is about 5' 10", but I've never tried to suggest that any of it proves anything. I tested myself to see how much height I could lose if I slouched without doing any overt bending or anything. I didn't do any exact measurements, but I easily lost between 3.5 - 4 inches (!) just from slouching. I was surprised it was that much, but it just goes to show that if people aren't standing up perfectly straight, it's difficult if not impossible to tell their height within 1-2, or even 3-4 inches.
--Apply this to, say, your picture of McGregor and Tim Roth.
In that picture, it looks like Roth is standing up straight, but McGregor is not.
His knees look bent, he is definitely bent at the hip, his shoulders look like they may be slouching (which is an indication that his spine may not be straight either), and his head looks like it could be dipped down to some degree.
Do I think this proves that McGregor would stretch out to 3 or so inches taller than Roth when he stands straight? No. But do I think it's strong enough evidence that he could stretch out to be that much taller than Roth? You bet I do. He only needs to raise himself about 2 more inches to achieve that.

RedBull, I don't buy the fact that most male actors add THAT many inches to their height, but Rob really needs to take him down, at least, a full inche as actors usually add around 2-3 extra inches to their height. This 5'10" is just ridiculous. 5'10" Jay Leno was more around 2" taller than him.

On his website there are a bunch of Star Wars EPISODE 3: Revenge of the Sith, premiere photos. Big group shots and individuals. Judging by this photo from 'Blue Juice' [I think] a bare foot Ewan is roughly the same height or marginally taller than a Timberland boot wearing Cathy Z Jones [5ft 7.5 on this site] but a few inches shorrter than the equally bare foot Sean Pertwee [listed as 6ft]. Making him 5.9 at best I'd say. Although I'll stick by my 5ft 8.5 of the previous post. Hopefully the link works.
