Rob, concerning the above dress in question, do you suspect a downplay?

You can also catch some quick glimpses around 38:00-39:00, 42:30, 45:00 or 48:00 here: Click Here

Ignoring Françoise holding up well with Belmondo, I feel she gives the presence of someone barely clearing 5’7” with that dress on. I don’t know Rob, do you think that the blue dress more likely helped or hindered Françoise’s height appearance…
Editor Rob
If it were above the knee, it might have given her a taller impression.

Rob, so you don’t think Françoise’s pale blue dress by itself necessarily downplayed her 5’7.5” height?

It went about half way down her legs (mostly covered her knees when standing straight) so I suppose it hid her leg length somewhat; that might have had something to do with my thinking she was more 5’7.25” when wearing that dress than at any other time during her career.
Editor Rob
Sometimes those styles of dresses could downplay, but not drastically.

Rob, do you think Françoise’s signature dress made her look more 171cm or 172cm?

Some footage here: Click Here

Interesting how I thought the blue dress made her seem more 171cm, but when she was wearing a long-sleeved shirt in Cul-de-Sac, I bought 172cm over 171cm. The blue dress may have been meant to give her a petite appearance to disguise her tall height…
Editor Rob
It can make her look anywhere in 5ft 7 to 8 zone.

Rob, can we also put That Man from Rio first in her film list, as that was her big break?

Really appreciate all the work you’re doing to this entry, it’s looking better all the time.

Rob, can you also replace her other b&w photo with this new screencap?

Whenever I open the French actresses tag, this perfect screencap would give me an instantaneous recognition of where Dorléac’s height fits in by recognising her signature dress. Great work, Rob!

That's certainly an incredibly impressive filmography before the age of 25 Gerald! Can always remember he being on the tall side but not somebody I've ever looked into height wise.

Rob, any chance of swapping your photos of her for one from That Man in Rio wearing “the blue dress”?

I wouldn’t usually make a request like this, but Françoise became synonymous with the pale blue dress she wore in that film. It became a symbol of her elegance, radiance and joie de vivre. I hope it isn’t too much to ask for…
Editor Rob
I'll do a small screencap.

Rob, for her other yet to do photo, could you add a pic of her wearing the light blue dress in That Man from Rio?

I’ll always associate her best with that beautiful dress in that film.

Rob, please add That Man from Rio & The Young Girls of Rochefort to Françoise’s credits.

Merci beaucoup for acknowledging Françoise’s incredible contribution to cinema. Just because her life was taken prematurely at 25, does not mean she should be without a page. 171cm-172cm she was.
Editor Rob
She did look over 5ft 7, but maybe not the full 5ft 8. Probably one of those forgotten names.
