British Formula 1 Driver. He said on his website "I'm 1.74m" although he was measured at 171cm in 2013 (for a red arrows featurette) to which he said 'Damn, I've shrunk!'. In 2013 he mentioned his weight, saying "I weigh about 71 kilos [156 pounds]" and in 2019 75kg.

I walked past him in Montreal during Grand Prix weekend - he was being rushed into his hotel by his guards and wearing jogging pants and sneakers if I remember well and I happened to walk just by him unnoticed, not knowing what the fuss was all about, while people were queueing to see him - and feeling very surprised I almost physically bumped into him and even more that I much taller than him. By much I mean a few inches taller. I'm between 5'10 and 5'11. So my guess is 5'6-5'7

I think this listing is right and he can look taller than it quite a bit, but as others have stated I think that’s due to lifts.Didn’t look much if any taller than guys at most 5’7 like Jaden Smith and Nick Jonas.

He definitely wears lifts. When he received his knighthood from Prince Charles he looked taller than Charles even though he isn't in reality. When he knelt down to be knighted I thought it was obvious he was wearing built up shoes.

Well hamilton has to be at least 174cm if bottas is 173cm. He looks also around 6cm shorter than verstappen who is 180cm. But if hamilton is 172cm height. Then Bottas is 170-171cm and Verstappen 178-179cm.

Lewis is a strange one. His height has always been up and down compared to other drivers.
Check him out against Vettel during his McLaren days he was shorted by 2 inches and check him out now. There virtually no height difference.

I always thought 5'8" was too generous for Hamilton , but not 5'7" flat either so 5'7.5" listing is spot on.

Editor RobI think 5ft 7.5 is still fair, because he looks no less than that from what I've seen and it's always possible when somebody calls out a height, that they are a bit over (or I guess a little under too).

It is hard to believe he'd be closer to 5'7" than 5'8" seeing him with Tom Cruise, but as Rob said, if he wasn't happy with the measurement, he probably wouldn't have agreed to it being in there. Just goes to show a solid 5'7" isn't as short as people think, much like James McAvoy.

It's worth remembering that an F1 car can be brutal to your back. I consider myself 180 cm spot on. After a good night sleep I can measure 182.5 cm out of bed, and usually around midday I'm 180.5-181 cm. Right before bedtime I normally measure 180 cm spot on. If I take a bike ride or do a squat exercise in the gym I can go as low as 179.5 cm for the rest of the day, even if it’s still forenoon. Hamilton has been racing for 15+ years and will have suffered severe back stress in that time, and it is more than possible it's shaved some height off him.

Its not out of the question that Hamilton has actually shrunken from his 'prime'.
He put a comment on his twitter about having an MRA scan as drivers spines suffer severe compression from all of the racing.
So he might just be a flat 5'7 today down from closer to 5'8 in his youth.

Editor Rob it depends, the measurement is never seen so all we have is a women saying 171, it could have been just under or even over the 171 mark, impossible to know, you could argue 5ft 7.25 or 7.5 or 6.75 or 8 based on different assumptions!

Yeah Vettel does look a legit 5'9" in that photo which is odd as he appears shorter than 5'8.5" Schumacher in most photos. He must slouch an awful lot. I completely agree that Lewis appears more a 5'7" range guy, 172cm at most.

Hamilton isnt 5'8, just give him 5'7.5 (if you dont want to put him at 5'7). Maybe he's near 5'8 in the morning but for sure is not 5'8!

Michael Schumacher is a legit 5'8.5". Lewis looks as if he edges Vettel out, neither of them look over 5 ft 8, Vettel generally look an inc shorter than Michael, he might be 5'7.5" then if Lewis is actually 5 ft 8. I wouldn't put money on him being taller than Cruise though! Cruise must have been wearing his "footwear".
