Yh Nadal looks about this range would measure probabably 183-184cm range, Great Player on a side note prefer him to Roger Federer, Both are very popular guys worldwide, Federer has the better more appealing style to Watch but Nadal always comes over like a genuine Down to earth guy whereas Federer come across Arrogant to me though most top sportsman tend to have sort of Arrogance about them.

It's as if Federer like Djokovic tries too hard to get laughs from People, Nadal is more like Murray in that sense

In that picture Rob put up, I'm seeing:

Roddick 188
Berdych (I think that's him) 194
Djokovic 187 (looks smaller there, maybe the depth of his position is off, I think most times he looks that though)
Rafa 184
Federer 185
Soderling 190
Murray 188 (he looks not straight there)
Ferrer 175 (sometimes he looks less)

@James that picture does not justice to Nadal. And is better to compare side by side. Cooper is far of him the picture. I know how Nadal towers over Bisbal and Arda Turan 175-176

@Johnson Interestingly Ramos never looks over 1.82. And Nadal is still shorter than the full 1.84 (6' 0.5") Bradley Cooper.
Johnson said on 17/Jan/17
Nadal is 184.5 taller than 183 Ramos. Federer is 185.5. Nadal has some height left in the tank as Rob said of Taylor Swift I say it with Nadal. Nadal has bad posture. With gut bust who knows what he reaches... perhaps his psyotherapist got an ertor of measurement at 186.5 the nurse could be short... it is a typical mistake. I doubt Nadal is on tip toes or with shoes on
James said on 16/Jan/17
@PK That's a logical fallacy known as argumentum ad hominem. You simply criticize the person who esposes an argument instead of refuting his argument.

Nadal is shorter than 1.84 Bradley Cooper:

So can you explain me in what sense is Nadal under-estimated?
James said on 14/Jan/17
@PK Nadal is my favorite tennis player of all time.

But it doesn't change the fact that Nadal is shorter than 1.84 Bradley Cooper:

Federer is vastly more popular than Nadal or Djokovic.
In fact, there are so many fanatics and worshipers.
And they hate Nadal because Nadal beats Federer so many times (Novak recentl years too).

On internet, there are so many pounding (trolls) on Nadal (and Djokovic ).
These pounding includes their hieght, IMHO. :)

So I'm estimating Federer's height a bit over-estimated while Nadal/Djokovic under-estimated.
James said on 12/Jan/17
@Johnson He used the trip of standing on tiptoe with sneakers. That's the only way Nadal could be 1.87. He is shorter than 1.85 Federer come on, be serious. You know Nadal is obviously under 1.85. Those listings are bullbagoogle and you know it.
Johnson said on 12/Jan/17
@James but my links are not just listings as in Casillas and Benzema case, are words by physiotheraps and sources doing comparison of his growth from junior days to adult. In fact official listings from. ATP doesn't move since debuting ATP at 17. I think he used the "gut method" or "método de la tripa" for measuring that tall anyway.
James said on 11/Jan/17
@Johnson Maybe some tennis players are overlisted as NBA players. Pics are sometimes more reliable than official listings, remember Casillas has always been listed as 1.85 and Benzema is now listed as 1.87 at Real Madrid webpage.

Nadal is shorter than 1.84 Cooper, and Cooper is shorter than legit 1.85 Federer.

I would love to see a video where Nadal is measured without shoes. I would be very surprised if he is over 1.83.

Absolutely brilliant job Rob!!!!! This page is very accurate and reliable. Thanks for the downgrade it was really necessary for Nadal :).

Yep, Nadal is for sure in the 1.83-183.5 range, rather than a full 1.84.

With normal (not forced) posture, Nadal looks 2 cm shorter than 185 Federer, so he is for sure 1.83 (6 ft)=

By the way, if you ever think of making a page for Sergio Ramos, I think he is no more than 1.82. Ramos looks 2 cm shorter than 6 ft listed Robin Van Persie:

Rory said on 29/Dec/16
Nadal definitely edges Wawrinka who has always looked 6 ft range, minimum 182. Federer does look at least half a half inch taller than Nadal though. Nadal is probably a solid 6'1 out of bed and falls to a comfortable 183 at worst.
Rory said on 29/Dec/16
Hmm the downgrade seems a bit harsh, I think 6'0.5 looked pretty believable when stood tall. 6'0.25 isn't a travesty though, he'd measure it after a match anyhow.

depending on their postures - and Nadal at times isn't great - there is a chance of being a little taller

Djokovic aint 188-189 more chance he is 187 range, Murray claimed 187.5cm if we say Murray is 188cm ( 6'2) he always looks a bit taller than Djokovic, Novak's wesbite had his height listed as 187cm for years before they changed it to the 6'2 188cm going off the Atp stats, I would imagine the official height for Novak was the 187cm that was on his site beforehand.

Rob has him about right- He probably around 6'1.5- 6'1.75
Johnson said on 30/Oct/16
@Rob I think you should renew Carlos Moya thread. He has claimed 190 cm recently @Mark the difference between Roger and Novak is not that high

Nadal doesn't always have the best posture. He does look the same with Federer in some cases, but Federer does have an edge on Nadal.

Still, I would put Nadal at 184 - 185 cm when he stands with much better posture. 185 - 186 cm for Federer and 188 -189 cm for Djokovic.

I still think Andy Murray could be more 6'2.25- 6'2.5 area he looks generally more than just a flat 6'2, His claim might have been after all day training its a funny one because Djokovic does look around 6'2 he looked a full Inch taller than Federer at wimbledon and I am not convinced Federer is below 185cm.

Murray is at the least 2 inches and at the most 3 inches taller than Nadal, Nadals eye level is consistently just above Murrays mouth by 1-2cm. Now the usual distance from eye to mouth varies in the range of 3-4 inches. You do the math.

Why would Murray undersell his height? If anything he is honest, which indicates integrity, which is seriously lacking in this world. Therefore worthy of respect in my book.

Funny observation I made in my life time within this odd world, lies are accepted at face value, truth is brushed aside. Fascinating...

With Murray Claiming 187.5cm, fat chance for Nadal being a 6 footer. Murray has at least 2 inches on him. Making Nadal a weak 6 footer at best, he's likely to measure 5'11-5'11.5 barefoot, 6'0.5-6'1 in his custom thick sole Nikes.

Nadal being under 6ft isn't going to suddenly make him a worse tennis player is it? Talk about being deluded...

Maybe Nadal have footwear more taller than Federer. That is the explication because they have similar height on court.

Nadal: 6´0.5 (184 cm)
Federer: 6´1.25 (186 cm)

The reason because Nadal is more tallers than atp 6 feets player is obviously they are not 6, they are 5´11 without footwear.

The only way Rafa would make up the height difference is if his neck is 2-3 inches longer than David Camerons. Plus David Cameron is in a relaxed posture there, one leg in front of the other, dropping an inch or more. So no, my evidence strongly suggest Nadal is under 6ft, more in the 5'11 range.
MD said on 15/Nov/13
Are we looking at the same picture (one I'm sure has been posted here many times before), Pleb? Rafa is clearly losing height with his stance and a slight bending at the neck, and yet he STILL looks almost identical in height to the prime minister. If that's the picture you're going to show to "prove" he's 5'11", you've given evidence for quite the opposite.

I have never understood...how people can say that Nadal looks shorter than 1.84.
I mean seriously is ridiculous, he is a tall guy..there can be any doubt..there are people who are 1.80-1.82 and are seen as tall people...so i guess it could be for his posture.

Here Nadal with Djokovic...I mean if the serbian is 1.87 then nadal is a legit 1.84...my point is Nadal doesn't look like a short person next to Djokovic..both look tall

Strangely resembles his arch rival Roger Federer in the above pic. Could be 6ft0.25/184cm but probably no less. I agree with Anon, he does edge out weak 6fters, so 182cm is out of the question.

Federer generallt looks about 2cm taller than Nadal

Looks no more than a flat 6 feet most of the time. 1 1/2 inch shorter than Djokovic I think.

In the final it was obvious that Djokovic was a good 4cm taller than Nadal. Close to 2in difference.

I have seen them many times stand together. Nadal is 185 guy for sure, Federer 186, nole between 187-188 cm and Murray is 189.

Its safe to say 185-189 cm is the best height for a tennis player.

@ Sak. I think your estimates are nearly there. But I would place Rafa:

185.5cm out of bed.
184.5cm in late morning.
183.5cm at night, or 183cm after a tennis match as a result of full spinal compression.

Anyone posting anything lower then 6f/183cm for Rafa, are the posters who pretty much downgrade everyone. There are some celebs who do deserve downgrading. But Rafa is not one of them.

185 - morning
184 - most of the day (most relevant)
183 - late at night

He looks shorter because he has large shoulders and a muscular body, but he's the exact same height as Roger Federer, 1.85 cm. I have seen almost all of their matches together and in similar tennis shoes and standing next to each other they are the same height.

I doubt many would agree with that. Federer has always looked a bit taller to me, 2 cm difference looks accurate to me.

I find it hard to believe this guy is 184 actually. Might be his tallest though but 182 is more probable.

Hardly. I watched the Nadal vs Ferrer match earlier. Ferrer is listed at 5 ft 9 and pretty much looks near it 5'8.5"-5'9" by his proportions and Nadal looked almost 4 inches taller. Nadal looked virtually 6'1" in comparison. 184-5 is fine, i'd lean more on 6'12 than 6' to be honest. Sub 6 ft is just laughable. He's a tall guy, see him next to average guys like Ferrer.
avi said on 9/Jun/13
Murray must be 6'2 as Nadal is 2 inches shorter.I think he is 6 flat 5'11 is too low cause that would mean Federer would be 6'0 only and he is 6'1 flat.

@ Elijah - Well Rob said 29-32 is average for a guy of my height so technically im upper average in terms of leg size having 32". Nothing to write home about but tbh I think I have a noticably long femer bone but my tibula/fibula part of my leg looks shorter proportionatly.
SAK said on 14/Feb/13
@Elijah, you must have long legs in proportion to your height. Because 32" is better suited for 5f11/6f guys.

Nadal, has average length legs (maybe a little shortish) compared to his height. I think his physique gives the impression he is shorter then he actually is.

@UK183: When you have that much of an excess on your jeans, it means it's too big, and barefoot you'd be treading on it. I am 182-183cm and not even a 34" does that for me, that is the size that I wear all the time and I get only a single "break" at the front from when it overlaps my shoe/boot and barefoot I don't tread over it at all, which means that it's definitely not too big for me. I would probably have to go the next size up, like 36" for me to get the same effect as in this picture.

So since you get that effect on a 34", it's definitely too big for you.

@Balrog and Dean: Every 5'9" guy I have met and asked wears a 32", so I don't think it's long. But I have never met another guy who is 6' or 6'1" with a 34" like me. I have seen some 6'2" and 6'3" guys like that but even among guys that tall, a lot or maybe even most have a 32". So it looks like 32" might be the "norm" for guys between about 5'9 and 6'2".

nice observation on him , yea thats how I look like too . I am actually 6feet but I give the impression of a (5'10''-5'11'') guy . It's not good but what can I do about it ?! That's my naturality .
I also don't have short legs or arms , they're just averagish ,
many people tell me every now & then : '' oh I thought you're shorter like 179-180 but now I see a 184 guy!!'' & I say I'm 183 & 75kg !!
I guess I just have small hands & feet
we are stretched out average guys as you said ! Lol
John said on 31/Jan/13
Sak, yeah they seem mostly legit with a couple exceptions.

It's surprising actually because I think some of the weights are definitely wrong. The weights seem 'user submitted' either by the players themselves or someone in their team. Many of them are never updated even when a player has clearly lost or gained weight.
SAK said on 29/Jan/13
@John, I do get what you are saying about Nadal, and actually agree with it as well.

He gives the 5f11 impression.

In general tennis listings are pretty accurate or close enough.
John said on 29/Jan/13
Also to add, I think the photo of Rafa here is evidence of him looking not that tall even though he is pushing 6'1. What I mean is, I think he is actually taller than he comes across...but his proportions look shorter.

He is obviously not a short guy, but just from looking at him I would guess 5'11. He has that slightly taller than average but definitely not 'tall' look with a longish torso, shorter limbs and athletic frame. Kind of like Agassi...except Nadal actually is borderline tall and is like a stretched out average guy if that makes sense.
John said on 28/Jan/13
Sak, excellent find! I think it is evidence for Nadal and Fed are close in height as they are right next to each other and you can see Fed is only slightly taller.

The biggest surprise in this picture is the disparity between Novak and Murray. At times they look within a cm of each other...but here Novak looks 6'1.5 max and Andy looks 6'2.5+ Hmmmmm....not sure what to make of it.

All in similar footwear. Good for comparison.
John said on 20/Jan/13
It depends, usually there is slight bunching but not as much as in that picture. I prefer little to none, but there is usually some naturally regardless of the length of the pants, since the pants will naturally go in over the shoes.. Too much like there can look somewhat sloppy imo. Those pants look a little long for Nadal.

I could wear anything from 32 to 34 and make it work. I prefer 32's and to wear them low with little bunching. I wouldn't wear anything less than 32 though as one of the worst looks is when the pants are noticeably too short---looks very unstylish and kind of 'geeky' imo.
Balrog said on 19/Jan/13
A 32 inseam is really common on guys 6'0" and 6'1". That's why I said that it's weird at 5'9'' having a 32 inseam, you must have long legs and a short torso. On the other hand shoes doesn't tell height because I met 5'7'' guys who wears 11 US and I've friend who is near 6'3'' and wears the same 11 US.
UK183cm said on 18/Jan/13
What I am confused about with inseam is whether the bottom of your trousers should bunch up and wrap around your shoe like they are on Nadal in the photo. 32" doesn't usually do that for me, 34 inch would do. Can anyone tell me if that's how trousers should be worn? I think I'll just buy some 34" trousers and see what they're like.
John said on 18/Jan/13
I wear 32 at 6'1, but it is a little short because I wear it low down near my hips. My true size would be a 33, which I think is average for my height.
Dean 5ft 9.25 said on 15/Jan/13
Why is 32 weird for a 5'9? Ask Rob, its 29-32 which is normal for a 5'9 so Im above average but nothing out of ordinary.
@ Peyman - Im 23 and havnt grown since 17. I have a 5'8 wingspan as well so definetly bigger all round in my lower body.
Balrog said on 11/Jan/13
I'm a shy over 6'1'' and I wear 34 inseam depends on what kind of pants. 11 ½ US in shoes. Really weird a 5'9'' with 32 inseam.
Peyman-6ft said on 10/Jan/13
@Dean ,
so we wear the same size
you certainly have tall legs
if I were you , I'd try streching , hanging etc to gain some more height.
It's obviously easier to increase torso than legs .

Stephen said on 8/Jan/13
look at Nadal proportion, once you see him in a picture alone he doesn't give the impression of a tall guy...but once you see him near Roger Federer who i think is around 185.5 at night he's definitely just a bit shorter just like 1.5cm shorter no more, so 184 cm at night for nadal is a good estimation and claiming 6'1 is ok.
Peyman-6ft said on 8/Jan/13

Jake, I think he is more 184+. I know it seems crazy to squabble over a cm, but I am surprised at some of these 6 foot flat estimations for him. I certainly don't see any major difference in height between him and Fed. To me they look very, very close in height.
John said on 6/Jan/13
Peyman, nope, they are very close. When they stand together, it looks like 1/2 inch at most. Basically there's a small difference, but it's at small as a difference can be and still be noticeable. Definitely not a full inch.

An inch is more the difference between Fed and Djokovic.
