Connery always looked an inch taller than 6'0.5" Moore, and on a par with Michael Caine when they were young. Plenty of evidence to suggest Connery was 1.86 (perhaps 1.87m at the very most) in the 1960's/70's

Met him at one of his talk shows recently, at 86, he was 5'10 - 5'11 range... peak was definitely 1.87m during the morning/day I think.

Christopfer Lee was surely peak 196cm. He was at least 3cm taller than Vincent Price, who was 193cm. Lee was 12cm taller than Roger Moore in The Man with the golden gun.

6ft1¼(186cm) would be the absolute lowest I'd give him for his peak. An early morning 6ft2 wouldn't be any less than that. The current peak is probably closer though.

Rob me and my dad watched man with the golden gun earlier and my dads reckons roger moore looked around 4 inches shorter than Christopher lee in that movie.
I personally think 6'1 1/2 always looked a stretch for Moore and i think 6'1 flat is much more easier to picture.

Roger Moore peak height 6'1", early photos with Caine and Connery who were both 6'2" had a good inch on him. Christopher Walken was almost the equal of Moore and he is just 6'.

The Man Who Haunted Himself is an underrated classic. Moore was brilliant in it and could actually appear close to 6ft2. He towered over everyone.

Not a chance of just 6 ft flat peak. Consistently looked 2-3 inches taller than some 5'11" guys in films. And on Paul o Grady a few years back he was looking nearer 6'1" actually.

He's always been honest about wearing a small hairpiece to cover his bald spot in all seven Bond movies, and having doubles for scenes where he had to run, so why would he lie about his footwear?

I don't think it was only in "A View to a Kill" that Moore was wearing lifts. Of course it was probably the producer's decision. In "Dr No" all the sets and furniture were smaller than they would be in reality so Connery would look larger.

Most likely 6ft1.5-6ft1.75 during The Saint and in early Bond. When he finished in 1985 he was still at least a strong 6ft1. Even by 60 he looked like a guy who lost barely anything, quite similiar to Brosnan today.

no he was 6'1 peak now maybe he is 6'0. he probably wore 1 2 inch lifts at times to appear 6'2 so he was probably 6'3 in shoes during some Bond films without shoes 6'1 flat.

Roger Moores peak height was 6'1.25-6'1.5, not more.

I think during playing octupusy, he was about 6-1, maybe a fraction more. So 186cm. Because he was about 1.5 to 1.7inches shorter than kabir bedi who I believe was a solid 6-3. Both were very straight in posture and wore similar shoes. Also, he looked 2.5 to 3 inches shorter than perfect midday 6-4 vijay amritraj. He used to be around 6-2 in persuaders and earliest saint days when he used to look very very tall on screen.

If Moore lost 1 or more inches in height, I don´t think he´s lost them in the seventies. By that time, his posture used to be so elegant and impeccable as in the sixties. Saw an episode of the Saint (Invitation to Danger) with Julian Glover and Roger Moore. There looked to be almost no difference in height so if Glover was 188cm there it is certainly possible that 187cm for Moore is accurate.

I think Dalton was the most believable Bond in both the looks and his demeanour, I mean he had that cold look in his eyes that made it believeable he was an assassin (and had the suave tall dark and handsome look unlike Craig). But lacked humour, Roger Moore had too much of it.

Insist, I don´t remember if it´s a human fight or combat, or a combat between 2 animals. The point is that the camera shows his shoes, and the heels are at least 1 1/2" (4 centimitres, at least). The question is: why should a man standing 6´1" (or even a little bit taller)wear shoes with higher heels than regular size (1 inch). The answer is: no reason. Moore was 6-1 during his prime bond years, I have to say he is easily the most professor like of all the Bond actors. Does not come across as an action hero tough guy. The tallest Bond was Timothy Dalton, Dalton comes across as a tougher and more rugged Bond, not as Bourne like as Craig but clearly very masculine.

Roger was the shortest Bond after Craig (178), but what an amazing, classy and funny guy he has always been!. 183 is fine for him in his prime, I mean in the 60's and 70's. In the 80's he lost some height and was near the 181 cm. You can notice that in "A view to a kill", when he stands next to Walken (180).

Moore actually seems to struggle with a full 6'1 there . Maybe he had already lost a bit of height ? I suppose it's possible since he was in his 50's , but Niven was actually older than him .

From watching his Bond movies i would say that he was at least 186 cm, if that was his height he could easily look 188 cm with normal dress shoe heels, they are about 2 - 3 cm thick.

Just watching "the Last Time I saw Paris". he seems about 1½" shorter than Van Johnson. He is listed here as 6'2" and in the movie site as 6"1½". Was Van wearing lifts? Could be because you could not see their feet.

If you check the 1988 oscars Roger looks a fraction taller than Sean, I would put money on them looking virtually the same height today, as Sean doesn't have great posture for a 6'2" guy, and Roger has impeccable posture. Also check out the Sea Wolves, barefooted next to 6'3.5" Greg Peck in shoes, the difference is only 2", when both in uniform there is probably 4cm difference. 6'2" when younger, atleast 6'1" today.

Hugh even when I was little kid I believed he was 6 ft 2 well actually I thought he was 6 ft 1 1/2 but I look at them and I think, "he aint 6 ft 2" hes atleast 4 inches smaller, at max 4 inch smaller.

Tubbs is spot on with his estimates for Moore. I think 6ft0.5 is probably the lowest Roger could be. This also backs up 6ft2 say 30 years ago.

There was little between himself and Jonathan Ross, although the angles weren't great to judge between the two, and he had what looked like 2 inches on Paul O Grady, and 3 on Jerry Hall. He keeps good posture. Upgrade required possibly, atleast to 184cm.

There's a picture of Roger Moore stood with Clint Eastwood and his wife Maggies from the early 70's in The unauthorised biog. of Clint Eastwood by Patrick Mcgilligan(check it out), and if Moore had been a legit 6' -6'1" then then Eastwood must have been unbelievably huge, well over his given height of 6'4". Roger looks 5'10 solid and no more.

It is possible I suppose that he was around the 186-187cm range as a young man. Being 80 yrs old, he's obviously lost maybe 4cm in height. There's that famous pic of him stood back to back from the "Man with the Golden Gun" with the great Christopher Lee.(6'4") Roger looks 6ft plus in that picture. What do people think? I remember he was on stage with Michael Parkinson and he Parky asked him about his height. Roger said 6'1.5" but he was referring to his youth. I can accept 6'1" for him in his youth. He did look quite tall. Never 6'2" though.
