@Ellis: he looks minimum 1” if not 1.25 shorter than Cam Reddish who only measured 6’6.5 in the morning. I doubt Zion Williamson is taller than RJ Barrett. Solid 6’5”
Ellis said on 11/Aug/19
Just saw the NBA rookie day pictures, and I think Rob got this one spot on. Zion looks more than 6'5, he looks to almost have a 6'6 frame. 6'5.5 at a low is spot on, and I'll explain why, he took a picture with 6'10.25 Jaxson Hayes, and Hayes clearly cannot see over Williamson. The pictures given are kinda hard to clarify where exactly it is but I'd guess between 4-4.5 inch difference. The 2019 combine must have been in the morning, because, given Williamson is 6'5.5 Jaxson Hayes would not be a guy over 6'10, he looks 6'9.5 to 6'9.75 with him. Williamson would have probably gotten a bit below 6'6 at the combine, I'm starting to get the feeling that he is taller than RJ Barrett.

He is really well built and looks his height,of course the 6ft7 was a morning measurement with shoes and as @CANSON said everybody in these days and age knows that lying on bed before measurements will make you a little taller so the 6ft7 was definitely a morning measurement with shoes between i was surprised to know that he was born in 2000 he looks more matured.

To be fair, many boys at 17 don't completely stop growing. I know you stopped early at 16 if I'm not mistaken, but I stopped at 19. Zion measured 6'5" and could've grown a bit since his measurement, but of course it was most likely a morning measurement, meaning around 6'4.5" at his low.
Canson said on 31/Jul/19
He hasn’t grown. Saying he has is an assumption. He looked 6’5” at Duke next to Cam Reddish
Onabill said on 29/Jul/19
Apparently he already grown, could be like Westbrook and grow another 1/4 inch during coming into the league

@Shane: I read the guide. But I had suspected they all got measured based on position. I thought reddish was measured the first day
Canson said on 18/Jul/19
@Shane: the photo with Kobe is no good because he’s favored. The other pics on the internet of the two clearly show Kobe being taller. It’s about 3cm probably

@Canson where did you hear measurements were on numerous days? I will try to check it out.
Canson said on 16/Jul/19
@Shane: this year in particular I’m not sure if there was any method to the madness with the measurements. I heard some were day 1 others day 2 and maybe day 3. I think at this stage most people know laying around makes you taller so if money is on the line it won’t surprise me if they do it even later in the day. But to be fair, I saw the link below where you commented too and I believe everyone on the thread suspected that he didn’t measure (Zion) possibly because he knew he wasn’t as tall as he’s listed. May have really had to do with his weight in correlation with a 6’5 measurement or earlier in the day maybe 6’5.5 or .75. But Not that it really would’ve affected the draft status tho because he was unanimous number 1. I also agree with what you said to me before that the measurements this year closely align with college measurements or listings so that is further validated. Zion at a morning height may have come out close to 6’7” or right at 6’7” in sneaks if he got a 6’5.75 listing barefoot with a 1.25” sneaker. But had that been the 6’5.5 maybe a bit less. I will say that it may have been other portions of the measurement that he was uncertain about such as wingspan or weight that may have raised eyebrows. Most people probably already knew he wasn’t quite 6’7”. At least those who know how it works

@Duhon: well, if his listed height is his barefoot height that is truly a rarity for one. Secondly, the photo with Kobe seems decent but not great. Francis is slightly closer to the camera which can make a significant difference in photos. Secondly, Kobe is slouching noticeably so no not sure this photo helps all that much. I'd have to see more photos to get a better idea, not that it's a terrible picture for getting an idea. It just isnt ideal.

Canson said on 27/Jun/19
@Viper: Probably bad measurement as I’m still 6’4.25. But I have probably lost 1/8” max if anything as I was closer to 194 before. I do have a major herniation and degenerated disc at 37. I’ll be 38 in January

Canson said on 22/Jun/19
@Ellis: only thing is we can’t see 1/4”. Maybe a cm tho. If Barrett is taller maybe it’s 1cm or 1/3”. I also have Zion 6’5-6’5.25 range and Barrett 6’5.25-.5”. I have Reddish at 6’6-6’6.25
Ellis 6'8 said on 22/Jun/19
@Canson: They seem the same height RJ and Zion, I got Zion at 6'5.25 at a low probably could see 6'5 but ehh. I saw a picture of the knicks picks R J Barrett, and this European guy who is listed at 6'7, and got measured 6'5 3/4 in the combine, he is a bit taller than Barrett. R.J Barrett is barely taller than Zion, Barrett is 6'5.5 and Zion is 6'5.25.
Canson said on 21/Jun/19
@Viper: oddly enough I measured myself after hitting the gym yesterday and I’m barely over 6’4” now. Looked around max 6’4 1/8 as it was quick and dirty but that’s usually how I measure with that particular tape measure unless I’m looking for precision. I look to see how far above 76” I am. I’m gonna try it again because not sure if I wasn’t standing straight due to my back because I was still about 6’4.25 a month ago. I am going to try again tomorrow to verify tho but at almost 37 and a half I may have lost height as I was right around 194 at my peak

They look about the same Jackson. Barrett’s Head is just not the same size. But they both look an inch shorter than Cam reddish. I would say Reddish May be a morning measurement or not a low and he may only be 6’6” or 6’6.25. Zion may be 6’5 or 6’5.25. I doubt he’s under 6’5 tho now that I see that

@Canson I ran numbers the last few drafts comparing college listings (college site and ESPN for every player at minimum) versus combine no shoes and combine shoes. This year more player measurements were closer to college listings than any year I have tracked. Other years a good number more guys came up short. Thus, these were no doubt morning measurements again if numbers released later.
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 12/Jun/19
I think Zion didn't grow much after 17. Maybe he can be 6'5.25" on the dot.
Canson said on 8/Jun/19
@Ellis: it’s unclear as to when he got it. But even an afternoon measurement doesn’t rule out him being at a morning height if he laid down before. Kevin Love is an example. People who’ve met him say he’s 6’7” in person and he and Lebron look about the same height. Reddish is definitely over 6’6 but don’t know if 6’6.5 is his low. He’s definitely over an inch taller than Zion however. Zion best case imho 6’5.25 afternoon height but really doesn’t look above 6’5” flat
Canson said on 7/Jun/19
@NBAfan: actually I have heard of the other players and am familiar with them. And you clearly see that Viper just said below that one of the ones you’re referring to is 6’6.5 Cam Reddish. Reddish was actually measured and Zion is clearly much shorter than him. That’s if the pre draft measurements are true afternoon measurements which is what Celebheights is based on. And even if you do base off that, the 6’5.75 is hard to come by. You would simply estimate 6’6 or 6’5 maybe 6’5.5 next to someone else. Again my estimate is 6’5” as that’s what he measured Before
NBAfan said on 6/Jun/19
canson hell yeah I have other players to measure him against, go look at the draft anthropometrics, but you probably only heard of tacko fall there's dozens of players who attended the combine that he played against, has photo with, etc. you can't say if it's a foot difference or an 11.5 inch difference, that's crazy, that's like for a 5'5 person to meet peter dinklage and guess exactly how tall he is. You can compare with people that are in the same height range, not with a 7 6 foot dude
NBAfan said on 6/Jun/19

@viper: Do you think that Cam Reddish got that measurement near the morning or an afternoon measurement?
Canson said on 4/Jun/19
@Viper: he is at least 1-1.5” shorter. Lol but you have this dude below telling me I don’t know how you can see he’s a foot taller or what not than Fall but that he thinks he’s 6’5.75. Lol How can anyone be that precise 6’5.75 when there is nothing to measure against? Sounds more like wanting someone to be a certain height than anything. Another variable for Reddish is that height a low for him or equivalent to a morning height? I tend to believe Zion is a legit 6’5” like he measured but he doesn’t look more than that
viper said on 3/Jun/19
Zion looks over an inch shorter than
6-6.5 Cam Reddish. And that measurement is probably rounded up from 6-6 3/8.

Zion is 6-5 max
Canson said on 3/Jun/19
@NBAfan: I don’t know how you can notice him being 6’5.75 next to other players with nothing to measure against. And I gave the 6’5” estimate because that’s what he measured and it’s how he looks next to Cam Reddish. You gave 6’5.75 out of pure speculation. If you see him with Fall, that’s a solid foot difference with him
NBAfan said on 30/May/19
I think zion is actually 6.5.75, crazy that this dude canson really thinks that you can notice 0.5 inch difference next to a guy like tacko fall who is 1 foot taller
Canson said on 19/May/19
@Rob: 6’5.5 is excessive. Cam Reddish his Duke teammate only measured 6’6.5 at the combine and we aren’t sure how early in the day it took place this time. Zion looks no taller than 6’5” flat next to him or Tacko Fall
viper said on 17/May/19

Canson said on 17/May/19
Depending on how early Reddish’s measurement was at the combine it’s possible Zion is a weak 6’5” although he does look a solid 6’5 on the court a lot. Reddish also measured 6’6.5 at the Olympics so I’m assuming he’s around there
Canson said on 17/May/19

@Viper: I was wrong. Maybe afternoon measurements the first day. But not sure about the 2nd. They were posted early in the afternoon so they had already occurred. Reddish’s Case is odd. I saw 6’6.5 barefoot and 6’8 in shoes then 6’6.5 in shoes. I agree with you he may only be 6’6” at a low barefoot but not less than that. Zion could even be a weak 6’5” if that’s the case. How much do you think he had on Barrett and on Zion?

Canson said on 15/May/19
@Ellis: I bet if anything he measures above 6’5. Maybe 6’5.5 perhaps if he has been laying around or it’s not a Low equivalent or afternoon equivalent. I wouldn’t be surprised with all the hype if he’s listed at 6’6” barefoot although he really doesn’t look over 6’5”.
Canson said on 15/May/19
@Viper and Ellis: oddly enough the measurements held today were held In the afternoon but that does not mean that they are true afternoon measurements. The taller guys like Bol and Fall May be a bit further from it because of their gigantic heights but I see the more avg size guys coming in near their morning heights if they laid around etc
Ellis 6'8 said on 14/May/19
For an afternoon height, or the standard here, I have Zion at 6'5 flat, Lonzo at 6'4.5-75, and Lamelo at probably 6'5 flat.
Ellis 6'8 said on 14/May/19
@viper: Depends when they measure him, I can see him being probably 6'5.5 after an hour(combine measurements usually), if they do it in the afternoon he will be closer to 6'5-6'5.25, let's see.

viper said on 17/Apr/19
He needs to be listed at a flat 6-5 since that's what he measured
viper said on 15/Apr/19
There is nothing Zion could do that would hurt his draft stock. He could tear his ACL right now and be the number 1 pick
Canson said on 14/Apr/19
@Ellis: yea it may do more harm than good. He doesn’t need to go as he will be the #1 pick this year
Ellis said on 13/Apr/19
Zion is a solid 6'5, when he gets up he is probably around 6'5.75, at his low he is a bit under 6'5.
@Canson: Right, usually very famous and skilled players don't attend like Zion himself. In Zions case there are two reasons, one: he has nothing to prove at the combine he is guaranteed a top 3 pick, two: he will probably be undersized, especially since he plays at the power forward.
Canson said on 4/Apr/19
@Viper: i doubt Zion will attend the combine
viper said on 4/Apr/19

He weighed 272 in 2017

They could be the same height or Barrett like a smidge taller. I doubt Barrett is more than 6’5.5 and doubt Zion is over 6’5” flat or maybe 196cm. 6’5.5 is too much for him

Canson said on 23/Mar/19
You would probably see a full 2” between he and Lebron or at least close to 2”. I doubt he’s any taller than he measured in 2018 6’5 flat
Sean73 said on 22/Mar/19
I'd buy 6 foot 5 and 3 quarters and 268lbs.
Jackson said on 17/Mar/19
Not more than 6’5” they list him at 6’7” to increase his draft interest. He’s also constantly getting Lebron James comparisons and people think they’re the same size. Not true at all. I think Lebron has a solid 2 inches on him. I remember hearing he measured at 6’5” flat about a year ago... and Lebron measured 6’7.25”

Also he’s listed at 285lbs... that just seems absurd.. 6’5” 285??? I’m not buying it.
Canson said on 12/Mar/19
@Rob: he likely won’t measure. In basketball they are allowed to skip the combine as Lonzo didn’t measure or attend either neither do Jayson Tatum or Markelle Fultz I could see zion maybe measuring close to 6’5.5 (early morning) if he did however. He looks about as close to 6’5” at a low. That would be the better listing than 6’5.5 because that measurement for him doesn’t even exist. Someone else said that on the site because he’s listed 6’7”. Coach K called him 6’6/6’7 before the season began which is his height in shoes 6’6+ which points to a solid 6’5” barefoot
Canson said on 9/Mar/19
@Mickie: there is no record of 6’5.5. The forum Rob got it from was from a poster who didn’t know what they’re talking about and just assuming because he’s listed 6’7” that he’s 6’6/6’7. Now I can believe that he’s 6’5” at a low perhaps but quite honestly, if RJ Barrett only measured 6’5” and still is, Zion may just be 6’4.5 or weak 6’5”. Barrett could be perhaps 6’5.5 as at times he looks maybe half inch taller than Zion
viper said on 8/Mar/19

@Rob: only thing is the measurement that the article refers to is the same measurement from USA basketball that was a solid 6’5”. The person either made a mistake of embellished him to be 6’5.5. Canson said on 5/Mar/19
@Viper: Barrett shows 6’6.5 here the last time he was measured in 2017. Not sure if they made a mistake or not but they may have because he was previously that in shoes. But he does look taller than Zion ordinarily. I’m curious to see what Zion measures. I doubt over 6’5” flat. The 6’5.5 that Rob saw is someone on that site mistaking the information or misrepresenting it as it’s the same time he measured 6’5” flat. Scroll down to 2017 for Barrett

Canson said on 5/Mar/19
@Rob: it is a misinterpretation. I don’t see him measuring 6’5.5 on any other pages. But this is the same type of page where they say that Michael jordan is 6’4.5 or 6’4 7/8 and Barkley 6’4 5/8. Not saying Zion hasn’t grown but I think that if he has then the 6’5.5 is an early morning and 6’5 at a low. He measured 6’5” at the USA b-ball camp that is in question in that thread. However it believe that is a normal low for him today
Editor Rob
It could have been, though if he was listed at 6ft 7, there is a chance he was 6ft 5.5 barefoot.

In general, boys stop growing between 16-18. There is always exceptions, but 18 is typically where it stops. Some will peak as late as 19 but that's not common. Anyway, I think Zion is no more than 6'5 1/2

Sounds right for a basketball measurement, RJ Barrett is probably 6'6 barefoot for a basketball measurement.

Heights are barefeet estimates, derived from quotations, official websites, agency resumes, in person encounters with actors at conventions and pictures/films.

Other vital statistics like weight, shoe or bra size measurements have been sourced from newspapers, books, resumes or social media.
