Yeah but the NFL as a whole is wayyyyyy more legit than all the frauds all over the NBA.

Not even close

His 6-6 is as big a lie as Stephen Curry's 6-2.75

The NFL is also way more precise with their measurements.

Why the NBA isn't like the NFL I have no idea. You would think a pro basketball league would be even more so since height is looked at more in basketball than football

@Viper: not really. Kyler Murray and Merriman and others get boosted too. Chris Cooley even said the nfl is screwed up with theirs. What they need both leagues is officiating

Well yeah of course.

The NFL isn't THIS shady though.

Most of the combine, senior bowl, pro day measurements are legit measurements

Only the Sixers have given out REAL measurements.

So the rest should be taken with a grain of salt.

So much for transparency from the NBA!!

@Viper: we really can’t say the Sixers gave out “real measurements”. They just made them look real by throwing fractions in front of some. There’s no guarantee someone like Tobias Harris grew 1” since being drafted although he can look it. He did look taller than Butler but not by a lot. Maybe 1.5”. I could believe more 6’6.5 or 6’7 morning for him. Now I can believe Al Horford because he’s 6’8.75 before so that would be a morning height for him most likely. Maybe he’s 6’8.5 at an afternoon height. He doesn’t look less than that. Ben Simmons I would’ve sworn would be upper 6’8” range maybe 6’9” morning. Maybe he’s really 6’9.25 and was rounded up to .5 to keep 6’10”. Ben looks 6’8.5-.75 really
Canson said on 10/Oct/19
@Shane and Viper: from what I saw it said he measured exactly 6’6” but you’re right that may be rounded up.

And @Shane: you took the words right out of my mouth. The nba forced this so I’m sure a bunch of teams aren’t really in the mood to cooperate with them fully being they were told to tinker with their listings lol. I just wish they had someone their to officiate
Canson said on 10/Oct/19
@Viper: it did say exactly 6’6” to Zion: he does have thick hair and it was in the AM so I don’t rule that number out. I think if anything the 6’5.5 is fine

viper said on 10/Oct/19
Could you link where the Knicks reporter says that
Canson said on 9/Oct/19
@Viper: they claim it was a solid 6’6”. You want my estimate he was 6’6 or a little over out of bed and 6’5.75 when measured and is 6’5.25 tops. Remember his hair is thick too. He can look taller than Draymond Green in terms of appearance but with other guys he looks around 6’5”
Shane Gray said on 9/Oct/19
@Canson Cam Reddish is up an inch from his combine to 6'7 1/2". Nba said they can round to nearest inch so yep he is right back to his 6'8" listingm Lol. I see people all over up 1.5 to 2 inches over combine. This is a total farce as I expected and heres why.

Nba forced this policy on teams and players. Neither teams nor players wanted it. But then they let teams self report the heights. And as expected with that considered we are getting tons of heights well over combine from some teams and a mamixing in of others that are still shoe heights as Knicks reporter even tweeted.

Some teams may be more honest than others but overall it's going to be a mess. Two reporters have said kings told them their roster is up to date and they disnt change a single thing from last year and I dont blame them. It's their roster and they should be able to deal with it as they see fit.

Heres the other issue I have and my suggested solution:

Issues are all over as casual fans how think all players were lying avout height which isnt true. Just a different standard before: shoes

Another issue is tons of fans how think the guys from 80s 90s and 2000s were taller not knowing those guys were shoe heights. So it's making historical comparisons confusing and hard for people.

Finally now instead of just knowing we had show heights we have a bunch of fake barefoot heights for too many guys or mass roundups of everything half inch or up and likely anything close to that if player and or team wants it to be rounded up.

So heres my common sense suggestion for a solution to make everyone happy and keep some perspective with past measurements:

Nba measure every player down to sixteenth of an inch and let it be known that was done and then instead of adding some random number to that for listing like it was in past, add a standard of 1.25 (or 1.5) to account for an average shoe plus orthotic. What do u think of that idea?
Shane Gray said on 9/Oct/19
@Viper Hawks put Reddish down at 6'7 1/2" lol after measuring inch shorter at combine. So they will then round back up to 6'8" which was his original listing
Its ridiculous and far more dishonest and confusing than before when we just knew it was shoe heights. Now we are getting a bunch of fake listings that are supposed to be barefoot and many arent. Its a joke.

Nba forced this policy on teams and players. They didn't want it. Then they let teams self report. Lol. And then they told them they can round to nearest inch so even the ones who may be honest are rounding 5'11 1/2" up to 6 foot and Etc.

Trillion times better chance he was measured at 6-5.5 very early morning.

If I was Rob I wouldn't automatically assume he measured 6-6 when he was 6-5 just a year ago.

Zero chance he's 6-6. At best 6-5.5 and rounded up

It's an even bigger debate now because a lot of these guys did not get measured.

Or they "Say" they got measured but all they did was give a 1 inch downgrade but did not actually measure.

Jimmy Butler is obviously nowhere close to 6-7 when he's 6-5 range.

Now I think this casts doubt on Zion ever measuring 6-6.

Starting to think they just downgraded him and didn't measure, which makes sense.

An early bloomer like him didn't grow out of high school.

He's 6-5. He clearly looks over an inch shorter than 6-6.5 Cam Reddish

@Viper: interesting because Gibson was a 2009 draftee. Early morning so he likely wasn’t higher than 6’8” and was almost 24 years old. Odd that he would’ve grown taller. I’m wondering if that’s a discrepancy and he’s not really just 6’8” still
Canson said on 8/Oct/19
@Viper: I’ve seen guys like Romeo Langford get measured at 6’4.5” at the combine and listed 6’4” in the NBA now after the new measurement. So the real question is was the combine early AM and some teams later in the day? Or were they the same and they rounded down? Or were some just overlisted? I’ve seen some guys lower or higher than their combine measurements. Taj Gibson will now be listed 6’10”. Not sure how he measured that high because he was 6’8.25 when he was drafted. Maybe he grew 1” plus morning height = 6’9.75”?
Nik said on 7/Oct/19

Canson said on 7/Oct/19
@Viper: this is all odd. I see Buddy Hield is now listed at 6’3”. I expected him at a low to be about that. But if they measured him in the AM it is very odd. And for Draymond I’m surprised that he’s listed 6’5”. I would’ve expected it early morning to get a 6’6” listing since he’d prob be 6’5.5”. Draymond May just be a weak 6’5”? Wow

Carlisle Greaves said on 7/Oct/19
The thing with guys in the NBA is that they have tall bodies. What I mean is that even if Zion is only 6'6, the height of his shoulders is probably as tall as most people who are 6'7, and then these guys are long. So, functionally speaking, Zion is 6'7 to 6'8. There is actual height, and there is functional height. Draymond Green's functional height in the NBA is 6'7 because his standing reach is equal to most guys 5 inches taller than him. So even if he only stands at 6'5, you are basically playing against a guy who is 6'7 because of his length and standing reach. As high as Zion can jump and as big as he is, it is like playing against someone 6'7.

@Manson: that may be the case with Harris. He does look only a couple inches shorter than Simmons. What’s really odd is that Embiid towers Simmons in some pics yet they’re only 2.25” apart? I thought Embiid was a legit 7’0” but turns out he’s probably just a solid or strong 6’11” in reality (afternoon)

Ben Simmons measurement is surprising. I would’ve expected max 6’9” for a morning height (6’8-6’8.5). That’s not to say these measurements are the holy grail tho.
Canson said on 6/Oct/19
@Shane: Trey Burke also grew half inch. Was 5’11.75 now 6’0.25”. Likely he did if the measurements were held in the morning that year.
Canson said on 6/Oct/19
@Shane: so it’s funny. Joel Embiid never grew. He was 6’11” before he was drafted and the 6’11.75 is likely a morning height. It adds up because Al Horford is .5” taller too. I laugh at J.E. Because some trolls here on this site tried to say he was 7’2” previously.

Shane gray tobias harris measured 6.6 1/2 in the combine at age 19. it is very possible that he grow 1 inch or that the combine was afternoon. Tobias harris is a legit 6.7 afternoon.
Shane Gray said on 5/Oct/19
@Canson: yep! Not sure I'm being that 1.5 inch change although someone that tall could compress that much. That would be the only chance unless he grew after age 20. But then we are talking him getting measured at an absolutely low before which is doubtful.

Will be interesting to see if all teams report to the quarter of an inch like Sixers did today. And even then with no nba rep we dont know how reliable they are.

Tobias Harris is up 1.25 inches from his combine. He was 6'6 1/4" then and listed 6'9". My guess is he asked his trainer to get him 6'7 1/2" to at least stay at 6'8". Non players dont realize how important these listings can be for players like u and I do. Most of veteran Sixers were a little higher than their combine listings.

And again, until if and when Pelicans release specifics (like sixers), we wont know if this was rounded up or not. We still domt really kmow.

Rob, what made you upgrade this guy?
Editor Rob
If he got 6ft 6 earlier in the day, then 6ft 5.5 or 5.75 is an arguable listing.
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Shane: holy crap! You were right. I apologize. He did measure 7’1.25”. Don’t know why I thought it was 7’1.75 lol. I can see him possibly having grown a touch but if not it really is true that guys in that range lose more height than average. It could also mean that he was measured almost immediately out of bed being they do sleep at the facility where camp is held as opposed to an hour after waking
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Ellis: I don’t buy the measurement. His Hair would prob make him taller. He could hit 6’6 out of bed but not after an hour. Maybe even rounded up to 6’6”. He looks in all honesty a strong 6’5” at best. Viper is right on this one. Cam Reddish is at least an inch or 1.5 taller. Reddish has thick hair too but I’m curious to see what his measurement comes out at. If it’s higher than 6’6.5 then his combine measurement may have been afternoon. If it’s the same it means it was morning
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Rob: not just room. Too much freedom. I agree with Viper. Also to note it’s funny how we always see “He’s shorter than he’s listed at Duke”. People oughta know by now that basketball measurements are in sneakers and some even a bit higher. It’s funny when someone is listed at 6’7” people actually believe they are. I have yet to meet s player who was at or below their listing. Absolute Best case is 1/2” to 1” off on college or pro listings. Some as much as 3” plus. One college teammate of mine was listed 6’3 in high school then 6’3” at college for a while his freshman year before getting a 6’2” listing the remainder of his career. He’s 5’11” and a half at best barefoot and all of us knew it even before he was measured
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Junior: 6’5.5 would be more like it max If it were valid. You don’t lose just 1/4” from 1 hour out of bed. That would be 3/8” to half. Remember measurements for the NBA aren’t 1/8” so that could easily be 6’5.8 since they would round up. You also have to remember how thick his hair is. I would bet tons of money maybe even thousands of dollar that you are taller than Zion Williamson. You may be up to 1/2” taller in all honesty. He doesn’t look that tall. He looks 6’5” still. Maybe 6’5.25. The real test will be when Cam Reddish is measured. Cam was 6’6.5 at the combine and Zion is a lot shorter than him
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Shane: lol is what I said too. I bet Ingram measures 6’8.5 or .75 and gets the 6’9” listing since they round up tho because it’s early morning. I always felt he was 6’8” afternoon height. Lonzo I feel would measure 6’5” or a hair over. I feel he’s 6’4.5ish afternoon. They do 1/4” increments tho because Luka got 6’6.75”. I feel he would be 6’6” flat afternoon as he looked half inch shorter than Harrison Barnes who would be more 6’6.5
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
The measurements that they are getting for these players are the same as the combine measurements. Example is JJ Barea. He was 5’10” at the combine just like he was here. So early morning measurements of course. But I have to give Rising credit because he guessed Porzingis at 7’1.75 for his normal height (afternoon) based on how he looked with Carmelo and he was right. 7’2.75 would be early morning
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Rob: Shane said this about as well as I’ve heard anyone say it. And it wasn’t at 10-11 am because the reporter tweeted it at 951 am. It was likely an early morning measurement just like the combines. Take into account his thick hair, and 6’5.5 that you had him listed before is a much better listing than 6’5.75” that he’s listed now. That was actually generous. I guarantee if you measured him in the afternoon and were able to get around his thick hair, he would be closer to 6’5” than 6’6”.
Editor Rob
There is a bit of room on these measurements for time of day/hairstyles, if it was 9-10 then yeah there is a greater chance of 6ft 5.5-5.75 rather than 5.75-6 as a lunch height.
viper said on 5/Oct/19

The phenom was listed at 6-foot-7 during his freshman season at Duke." Click Here
Canson said on 4/Oct/19

I think for me, a lot of these measurements may be coming in earlier in the day rather than later, so I can see this guy falling under 6ft 6, but maybe not to 5.5.
Shane Gray said on 4/Oct/19

@Canson not big on photos for height but this one is pretty good and Zion stacks up well here. This versus formerly listed 6'6" Ball and 6'9" Ingram. He looks as tall as Ingram for sure and easily taller than Ball.

Shane Gray said on 4/Oct/19
Zion reportedly just got measured at 6'6" flat with new NBA height policy. This leaves more questions than answers with no nba rep there. Obviously if accurate it is an early morning height. But with full inch increments this could have been 6'5 1/2" and rounded up. Teams did their own reporting so we really dont know. And they measured in socks so who knows how many socks were on, if lifts were in socks that are made now or what. If nba wants these to be accurate they need to do four things: measure them with their own NBA rep, use quarter inch increments, take off socks and measure each team at same time of day.
Editor Rob

Absolutely freakish for a high school basketball player.

The basketball players that grow in college, even in their first year look pretty lean and young, or younger than their age.

@Ellis: but to Viper’s credit, he looked 6’5” on the court. And Cam Reddish measured the same thing his senior year and didn’t grow. He was 6’6.5” back then. And also how do we know that the 6’5” wasn’t a morning measurement back then? 6’5.25 at a low is possible but 6’5.5” at a low he doesn’t look. That’s a weak 6’6” like Kawhi Leonard would measure (6’5 1/2). He doesn’t look as tall as Kawhi imho. More like Draymond Green
Canson said on 27/Sep/19

Zion measured a flat 6-5 his senior year of high school.

So how can he be 6-5.25 at a low
Canson said on 27/Sep/19
@Ellis: Reddish measured 6’6.5 and that was likely a morning measurement. I don’t get your logic with Zion being listed 6’7”.’Jaylen Brown was measured 6’5.25 in the morning (likely a sub 6’5) and he’s listed 6’7” still. Draymond is said to only be 6’5” and he’s listed 6’7”. Zion measured a flat 6’5 previously and was listed 6’7”. They aren’t gonna change it given the barefoot measurement is absent here at the combine. They will leave it the way it is. There are guys who are 2+ or 3” from their afternoon barefoot heights. Jimmy butler is now listed 6’8 he’s 6’5” range. Prob low 6’5”

@Canson: I doubt that Cam Reddish is 6'6 or a hair over it at a low, not saying that it is impossible, but very unlikely. If you could prove it to me then I would believe it, but Reddish always struck me as a strong 6'6 guy, like 6'6.5 at a low, I was gonna say 6'6.75 but that would be impossible because he got 6'6.5 at the combine. Zion is like 6'5.25 at a low, meet me there maybe?, but just 6'5 nothing, come on, he should be listed at 6'6 then. Just curious, what do you think about guys that got 6'5.25 at the combine, like Demar Derozan, or Jaylen Brown, do you reckon that they are a high 6'4 at a low?

@Shane: 6’5.5 still seems too high imho. Maybe he’s a strong 6’5” guy at a low like Christian is (6’6” out of bed) and 6’5.25” but really he just looks a straight 6’5” at a low with Cam Reddish or max (196cm which is 6’5 1/8”). I know boiling to 1/8” is a bit much but it’s just to say he looks closer to 6’5 than 6’6”. Reddish looks at least an inch taller and he’s probably just 6’6” afternoon height

Standing up as far as he is means he’s not standing back as far in the pic as Zion. Maybe it’s an inch but I would’ve said probably half to 3/4”
Shane Gray said on 25/Sep/19
@Ellis In your photo Alexander on the left measured 6'4 1/4" barefoot this year which was likely early in morning. If so, we are talking 6'3 3/4" range afternoon maybe 6'3 7/8" max. While Zion is closer to camera, he look to have 1.5 inches on Alexander. However, Zion is closer to camera and being even slightly closer to camera can make a guy look a lot taller. So perhaps there isnt near the height difference it seems. Hard to tell. As for guy on right, that is Hayes who measured 6'10 1/4" this year and also likely early in morning. So afternoon at that height likely 6'9 3/4" and no more. He is also a bit further from camera than Zion. Hard to tell top of head with both having lots of hair but trying to gauge that or using eye level there is 4 inches or so there. Maybe more at top of head but I dont see over 4 at eye level I don't think. Anyhow, this photo is pretty good for someone pushing Zion at at least 6'5 1/2" BUT does have a slight camera advantage. I will say 6'5 1/2" afternoon might be more possible than I previously thought. Maybe.
Shane Gray said on 25/Sep/19
@Ellis what do you mean by standing up as far as he is? I don't understand what that means. And Lonzo definitely isn't standing up straight there. That said, Zion looks to easily have an inch on Zo there. No doubt about it. And I have Zion at maybe 6'5 1/4" by this site's afternoon standard.

Based on Lonzo standing up as far as he is and the difference between them, I think 0.5” is the max I could see between them. Even with it at face value it’s max 2cm

I’ve never seen it. Do you have the link? But for me, I still don’t have Zion over 6’5 maybe at a stretch 6’5.25”. His 6’5” measurement from 2018 seems what he would still measure today. Lonzo’s height is debatable too as he doesn’t look any taller than 6’4.5” and at times can look as low as 6’4 perhaps although other times 6’5 but that’s rare. He’s probably a 6’4” range guy
Canson said on 17/Sep/19

He's probably closer to 270 but even then that is heavy for a basketball player

I'm obsessed with whether this dude is 6'7" or 6'6". In my mind, 6'7" is okay for an NBA Forward, but 6'6" is too small. :) If he's 6'5.5" in his socks, that would make him 3/4 inch taller than 6'4.75" Michael Jordan, who is a fine standard for the NBA "6'6"" level, and thus I can sleep well accepting that he is 6'7".
Canson said on 15/Sep/19

@Canson: Definitely at least a 4 inch difference between the two, but not much more. Anthony Davis is around 6'9.75 at a low for me, considering his head size is probably bigger than the average human, where 4 inches is for the average human it is probably a bit more for Davis. In my opinion considering Davis is 6'9.75, Zion is looking anything from 6'5.25-75 at a low. 6'5 at a low seems way to low to me, have you seen him with Lonzo Ball? Looks to be more than just a half inch difference.

I looked at the video again and I agree with Shane. I haven’t seen him with Zion but I have with Reddish and he’s not as tall as Cam. Assuming Cam may be a morning height he’s at least an inch shorter than Cam

@Canson In my opinion that video is useless in terms of gauging height. Zion has massive angle advantage and directs closer and between camera and Davis. I dont think we can learn much -- if anything-- from that my friend
Canson said on 12/Sep/19
@Ellis: I’d still say 6’5” at a low for him. That’s a normal low imho. Maybe he can dip a tad bit lower at an extreme low but Cam Reddish is noticeably taller than he is. I’m not convinced Anthony Davis is a legit 6’10” (6’9.75 is my guess max).

Ellis said on 7/Sep/19
@Rob: Yeah, I can see Zion at around 6'6.25 out of bed, and say 6'5.5 at a low. What's really interesting is that, I really do believe he grew over the duke season. Not by a whole lot, but he started out the season being shorter than RJ Barrett, and now he looks to be taller than him.

Ellis said on 11/Aug/19
Just saw the NBA rookie day pictures, and I think Rob got this one spot on. Zion looks more than 6'5, he looks to almost have a 6'6 frame. 6'5.5 at a low is spot on, and I'll explain why, he took a picture with 6'10.25 Jaxson Hayes, and Hayes clearly cannot see over Williamson. The pictures given are kinda hard to clarify where exactly it is but I'd guess between 4-4.5 inch difference. The 2019 combine must have been in the morning, because, given Williamson is 6'5.5 Jaxson Hayes would not be a guy over 6'10, he looks 6'9.5 to 6'9.75 with him. Williamson would have probably gotten a bit below 6'6 at the combine, I'm starting to get the feeling that he is taller than RJ Barrett.

To be fair, many boys at 17 don't completely stop growing. I know you stopped early at 16 if I'm not mistaken, but I stopped at 19. Zion measured 6'5" and could've grown a bit since his measurement, but of course it was most likely a morning measurement, meaning around 6'4.5" at his low.

Canson said on 16/Jul/19
@Shane: this year in particular I’m not sure if there was any method to the madness with the measurements. I heard some were day 1 others day 2 and maybe day 3. I think at this stage most people know laying around makes you taller so if money is on the line it won’t surprise me if they do it even later in the day. But to be fair, I saw the link below where you commented too and I believe everyone on the thread suspected that he didn’t measure (Zion) possibly because he knew he wasn’t as tall as he’s listed. May have really had to do with his weight in correlation with a 6’5 measurement or earlier in the day maybe 6’5.5 or .75. But Not that it really would’ve affected the draft status tho because he was unanimous number 1. I also agree with what you said to me before that the measurements this year closely align with college measurements or listings so that is further validated. Zion at a morning height may have come out close to 6’7” or right at 6’7” in sneaks if he got a 6’5.75 listing barefoot with a 1.25” sneaker. But had that been the 6’5.5 maybe a bit less. I will say that it may have been other portions of the measurement that he was uncertain about such as wingspan or weight that may have raised eyebrows. Most people probably already knew he wasn’t quite 6’7”. At least those who know how it works

@Duhon: well, if his listed height is his barefoot height that is truly a rarity for one. Secondly, the photo with Kobe seems decent but not great. Francis is slightly closer to the camera which can make a significant difference in photos. Secondly, Kobe is slouching noticeably so no not sure this photo helps all that much. I’m gonna try it again because not sure if I wasn’t standing straight due to my back because I was still about 6’4.25 a month ago. I am going to try again tomorrow to verify tho but at almost 37 and a half I may have lost height as I was right around 194 at my peak

@Canson I ran numbers the last few drafts comparing college listings (college site and ESPN for every player at minimum) versus combine no shoes and combine shoes. This year more player measurements were closer to college listings than any year I have tracked. Other years a good number more guys came up short. Thus, these were no doubt morning measurements again if numbers released later.

I think Zion didn't grow much after 17. Maybe he can be 6'5.25" on the dot.
Canson said on 8/Jun/19
@Ellis: it’s unclear as to when he got it. But even an afternoon measurement doesn’t rule out him being at a morning height if he laid down before. Kevin Love is an example. People who’ve met him say he’s 6’7” in person and he and Lebron look about the same height. Reddish is definitely over 6’6 but don’t know if 6’6.5 is his low. He’s definitely over an inch taller than Zion however. Zion best case imho 6’5.25 afternoon height but really doesn’t look above 6’5” flat
Canson said on 7/Jun/19
@NBAfan: actually I have heard of the other players and am familiar with them. And you clearly see that Viper just said below that one of the ones you’re referring to is 6’6.5 Cam Reddish. Reddish was actually measured and Zion is clearly much shorter than him. That’s if the pre draft measurements are true afternoon measurements which is what Celebheights is based on. And even if you do base off that, the 6’5.75 is hard to come by. You would simply estimate 6’6 or 6’5 maybe 6’5.5 next to someone else. Again my estimate is 6’5” as that’s what he measured Before
NBAfan said on 6/Jun/19
canson hell yeah I have other players to measure him against, go look at the draft anthropometrics, but you probably only heard of tacko fall there's dozens of players who attended the combine that he played against, has photo with, etc. you can't say if it's a foot difference or an 11.5 inch difference, that's crazy, that's like for a 5'5 person to meet peter dinklage and guess exactly how tall he is. You can compare with people that are in the same height range, not with a 7 6 foot dude

Lol How can anyone be that precise 6’5.75 when there is nothing to measure against? Sounds more like wanting someone to be a certain height than anything. Another variable for Reddish is that height a low for him or equivalent to a morning height? I tend to believe Zion is a legit 6’5” like he measured but he doesn’t look more than that

Canson said on 3/Jun/19
@NBAfan: I don’t know how you can notice him being 6’5.75 next to other players with nothing to measure against. And I gave the 6’5” estimate because that’s what he measured and it’s how he looks next to Cam Reddish. You gave 6’5.75 out of pure speculation. If you see him with Fall, that’s a solid foot difference with him

@Canson: Right, usually very famous and skilled players don't attend like Zion himself. In Zions case there are two reasons, one: he has nothing to prove at the combine he is guaranteed a top 3 pick, two: he will probably be undersized, especially since he plays at the power forward.

I think Lebron has a solid 2 inches on him. I remember hearing he measured at 6’5” flat about a year ago... and Lebron measured 6’7.25”

Also he’s listed at 285lbs... that just seems absurd.. 6’5” 285??? I’m not buying it.

@Rob: he likely won’t measure. In basketball they are allowed to skip the combine as Lonzo didn’t measure or attend either neither do Jayson Tatum or Markelle Fultz I could see zion maybe measuring close to 6’5.5 (early morning) if he did however. He looks about as close to 6’5” at a low. That would be the better listing than 6’5.5 because that measurement for him doesn’t even exist. Someone else said that on the site because he’s listed 6’7”. Coach K called him 6’6/6’7 before the season began which is his height in shoes 6’6+ which points to a solid 6’5” barefoot
Canson said on 9/Mar/19
@Mickie: there is no record of 6’5.5. The forum Rob got it from was from a poster who didn’t know what they’re talking about and just assuming because he’s listed 6’7” that he’s 6’6/6’7. Now I can believe that he’s 6’5” at a low perhaps but quite honestly, if RJ Barrett only measured 6’5” and still is, Zion may just be 6’4.5 or weak 6’5”. Barrett could be perhaps 6’5.5 as at times he looks maybe half inch taller than Zion

Let's just say the 6-5.5 is fake news

Interesting. I thought this guy had measured 6'5" flat - hadn't heard the 5.5 figure.

-Tremendous physical profile for his age. Developed, yet still has quite a bit of room to fill out. Wide shoulders. Long arms with a 6' 10 wingspan. Measured 6' 6.5 in shoes.

Barrett is 6-5. You are thinking of Reddish Canson
viper said on 6/Mar/19
That was in shoes. Barrett is 6-5.

He's clearly shorter than 6-5 measured Reddish.
Canson said on 6/Mar/19
@Rob: only thing is the measurement that the article refers to is the same measurement from USA basketball that was a solid 6’5”. The person either made a mistake of embellished him to be 6’5.5. I do agree that a 6’7” listing could mean that 6’5.5 but in his case it was 6’5”. But I think 6’5” is his low
Editor Rob
It will be interesting to see eventually what he gets for a draft measurement.
Canson said on 5/Mar/19
@Viper: Barrett shows 6’6.5 here the last time he was measured in 2017. Not sure if they made a mistake or not but they may have because he was previously that in shoes. But he does look taller than Zion ordinarily. I’m curious to see what Zion measures. I doubt over 6’5” flat. The 6’5.5 that Rob saw is someone on that site mistaking the information or misrepresenting it as it’s the same time he measured 6’5” flat. Scroll down to 2017 for Barrett

@Viper: I actually see Barrett measuring 6’6.5 and 6’5.5. He’s taller than Zion. Zion looks 6’5” barefoot on the court to me. Maybe Cam is 6’6” and change.
Canson said on 5/Mar/19
@Rob: it is a misinterpretation. I don’t see him measuring 6’5.5 on any other pages. But this is the same type of page where they say that Michael jordan is 6’4.5 or 6’4 7/8 and Barkley 6’4 5/8. Not saying Zion hasn’t grown but I think that if he has then the 6’5.5 is an early morning and 6’5 at a low. He measured 6’5” at the USA b-ball camp that is in question in that thread. However it believe that is a normal low for him today
Editor Rob
It could have been, though if he was listed at 6ft 7, there is a chance he was 6ft 5.5 barefoot.

515,000 people would be about a quarter of the Instagram followers he had in high school. He's the most ballyhooed amateur player since LeBron James, an athletic freak with the build of an NFL linebacker and a 49-inch vertical jump. The celebrities come out when he's playing, including James and Barack Obama. Actually, he probably won't be better known next year, since there's no way he can live up to the current hype as an NBA player.

@Rob: where is the source for him measuring 6’5.5?
Editor Rob
Actually it might be misinterpretation, see This thread.

Zion is 19 this year so i doubt that he stop growing. Maybe a low now 6'5 1/4 but maybe he would reach this listing at his low a year later.

In general, boys stop growing between 16-18. There is always exceptions, but 18 is typically where it stops. Some will peak as late as 19 but that's not common. Anyway, I think Zion is no more than 6'5 1/2

RJ Barrett measured 6-5

Cam Reddish measured 6-6
viper said on 3/Mar/19
No, this is a guy who clearly matured early. He probably stopped growing by 15.

And where did the 6-5.5 come from.
viper said on 3/Mar/19
Rob puts up Zion Williamson just like that, yet he hasn't put up Hall of famer Rickey Jackson who I requested over a year ago.
Editor Rob
To be fair, his height is searched for a lot more than Jackson's, though nobody is ever ruled out.

Born in 2000. Holy . I thought this was a joke. But apparantly he was born in the US. He looks a hell lot older than that.

I must still be living in a web world from ten years ago as I can't understand why 515,000 people would be viewing the above photo and liking it. If he was a big NBA star I could understand more! He looks a big lad anyway, but not sure why he is notable.
Editor Rob
I think next year he will be a more known name, but even as a prospect he has a big following

I think Barrett measured 6’6.5. I still agree with Viper. Zion doesn’t look over 6’5” on the court with anyone. 6’5.5 may be a morning height for him

@Rob: where did it say he measured 6’5.5?

Sounds right for a basketball measurement, RJ Barrett is probably 6'6 barefoot for a basketball measurement.

Heights are barefeet estimates, derived from quotations, official websites, agency resumes, in person encounters with actors at conventions and pictures/films.

Other vital statistics like weight, shoe or bra size measurements have been sourced from newspapers, books, resumes or social media.
