hey rob, i'm 5'2, how much would these heels give in height? Click Here
[Editor Rob: platform is 2 inches, the angle is quite steep, so I'd think at least 4.5 inches of actual height, possibly 4.75]

Hi Rob, I'm 167cm with a size 10 shoe. How tall would I be if I wear an 18cm heel with an 8cm platform? https://spiceup.com.au/shoes-by-style/pole-dancing-shoes/pleaser-platform-dia715-silver-clear.html
[Editor Rob: the link didn't work, but if it has those dimensions, it's a huge heel, getting you well into 5.5 territory. ]

[Editor Rob: should give nicki in the 4.5 range.]

Hi rob, I'm a size 10 (US female), how much height would a 4 inch heel with practically no platform at the front give me?
[Editor Rob: it should still give a good 3-3.2 range]

Hi, Rob I'm 5'4 and my date is 5'8. Talking about heel heights; What heels can I wear so I don't go over 5'8?
[Editor Rob: you would need huge heels to actually match the 5ft 8 date, so really even a heel with a 1-inch platform won't be a problem. If the heel has a 2inch platform at the front that will put you probably into 5ft 8.5 territory though.]

Hello! I have a question about Edie Sedgwick's height. She is listed as 5'4, but I think she was around 5'6/7..Click Here Here her heels aren't that high and her height difference with Andy (5'11) wasn't that big, he was wearing shoes too. She was also very skinny and with a small frame. What do you think?
[Editor Rob: I spent a bit of time looking for some quote from her but couldn't see a direct...but did spot a quite early mention of her being 5ft 5.5, I may add her.]

hello rob, if a women in 165 standing tallest, with heels that give 4 inches, would she be exactly 4 inches taller? I'm asking this because wouldn't heels affect her posture negatively? so if the shoes itself can give a full 4 inches, due to how most women stand in heels, slightly slouched, she could actually gain around 3.7ish? is this assessment correct?
[Editor Rob: from measuring a few ladies in heels, I think their posture is pretty good I found, at least when measuring them. But sometimes the hip/back can adjust slightly, that might account for a little difference.]
newdude said on 17/Dec/15
Another question Rob, In shoes you would measure at around 5'9. When you encounter women that are 5'5 and are in heels, have you come across any that were taller than you? If so, what heels were they wearing? thanks
[Editor Rob: they need to have really big heels to become taller, like a 4.5 inch style (so this would be probably a style with a platform that is between 1.5 and 2 inches).]

Hello Rob, Im 5' 11.75" And I have always being self concerned about using heels. I'm form PR and most of the guys here aren't tall at all. I wanted to know how tall I will be with a 4 inch heels and 3 inches. Thank you!
[Editor Rob: you would be almost 6ft 3 in a '4 inch' style of heel (so from a man's perspective you are like a 6ft 2 women). A 3-inch style might only give 2.5 range so you'd still be a good 6ft 2 and change in them. It can be tricky with some men - many might actually respect and look up to you more if you hold good posture and aren't afraid of wearing a heel, while other men simply don't feel comfortable if a woman is taller, let alone if she wears a heel making the difference even greater. It's their problem though.]

Hi, I'm 1.77 m (5'9.5) and how tall would these heels make me? Click Here Its being advertised as 4.5 inches (about 11-12cm). Thanks :D
[Editor Rob: the page doesn't show the shoe, but I found it when typing "lolashoetique victoria black" in google and then clicking the wee button for cache. The model looks like it would give between 3.3-3.4 inches of actual height, it is quite a high angle.]
kb said on 16/Dec/15
Hi, do you know how heel height changes for a same shoe model in a size US4 and a size US11? I'm designing my first model but don't know how to scale it down to smaller sizes...
[Editor Rob: unfortunately I'm not a shoe designer or can offer advice on that!]

hey rob, im 5'9 in shoes. i want to ask what the maximum height a female would have to be to still look shorter than me in heels. im not talking about stripper heels, or anything ridiculous, the common heels females wear these days. thanks
[Editor Rob: if she is in 5ft 6 range she might wear a typical heel and be roughly your height when you are in shoes. If between 5ft 5 and 6 you might find you then look taller when she's in classic 3-inch type heels.]
Rebecca said on 14/Dec/15

[Editor Rob: you could possibly get close to 180cm wearing that size of heel...with a 1.5 inch platform and high angle, that'll push the amount you gain easily over 4 inches, nearer 4.5]
Zoe said on 5/Dec/15
Hi, Rob. I'm 5'3 1/2- 5'4, and I want to know what heels can I wear without going over 5'7? Thanks!
[Editor Rob: you need ones advertised as being at least 5 inches, ones advertised at 4 might only give 3-3.3 range, but 5-inch (with at least an inch platform) will get you well over 3 inch and somewhere in 3.5-4 range, thus putting you over 5ft 7 a tiny bit.]

Thanks Rob! Also, is there any difference between shoe sizes? As in, a friend of mine is a size 6. If we both get the same shoes, will I get or more height, etc? Or if someone has size 12, exact height as me and we both wear the same shoes, will she get more height? Or is this just a myth?
[Editor Rob: due to the pivot point of the ankle and length of foot, the longer your foot, the higher you effectively can go on your tip-toes. The same applies for high heels, some larger sizes of similar brands can be made a bit taller compared with smaller sizes.]
Allie said on 11/Oct/15
Hi Rob! I have this big party coming up and I bought a dress so I decided to find some platform shoes to match it. And while shopping online, I found these, luckily I got them in my size before they ran out! They claim to have the following specs on the heel: Back heel height: approx. 5.5 inches and a Platform height: approx. 1 inch. Now, my older brother who knows jack squat on heels wondered if I'll be taller than him or as tall as he is. He's, I think he said 6'4.75 in the evening and will be wearing standard dress shoes of course that give around 1 inch - 1.25 inches. Of course, it's obviously I don't be as tall as he is. But how tall do you think I will be? Here's a link: Click Here Btw, I'm 5'10.25 (if the quarter inch really matters haha).
[Editor Rob: you should measure around 6ft 2 in those heels, especially since I doubt you have a small foot size and likely above average foot size, so your brother should still have a comfortable few inches on you. you may find him walking taller though, I have seen this when a female sibling puts on heels beside brothers, I noticed a few suddenly stood taller than normal, maybe they didn't like the height difference being much smaller!]
Asees said on 10/Oct/15
Hey Im 5"3 which heel would suit me .l??
[Editor Rob: depends on how high you want to be. I'd always say it is better to have a thicker platform rather than too high an angle, because wearing heels a lot can do damage, and the higher the angle the more stress on joints/bones in feet/ankle.]

hi, can you explain to me how you determine how much height a platform heel would give you? take for example Cray's question below me. If she's 5'6" and the heels are basically 6" with a 2" platform, how will that make her reach 5'10"-5'11"? thank you :)
[Editor Rob: if you have a 2 inch platform then knowing for many women the maximum height they can get on high tip toes is around 3 inches (or with long feet a bit more) then looking at how high the angle of the shoe is, you can get a sense whether the heel gives 4 or nearly 5...if nearly 5, the angle would be quite steep, just like your maximum tip-toe angle.]

im 5'8 and my prom date is 6'1, whats the tallest heel height i can get without being taller/same height as him?
[Editor Rob: you can easily buy a platform heel (if they are advertised in the shop as 5.5 or 6 inch) and still be shorter than him, they might give you 4-4.5 inches but of course your date would likely be standing 6ft 2 in his shoes, and you at most 6ft 0.5, so still a bit shorter. The only heels that might make you same size is 2-3 inch platform 'stripper' type heels...and those aren't recommended for a prom! ]

[Editor Rob: your heel can't really be that big, if it gives 2.25 inches you will be the same height, so This size for instance is called I think a 2.75 style but gives about 2.3-2.4, so you won't really look much taller in photos or anything.]

If they are comfy that is the main thing really, I wouldn't worry about what others think...most people won't give them a second glance!]

Hi I'm 5'7 and I'm wondering how tall my heel and platform should be in order for me to not be over 5'10
[Editor Rob: really I would buy a heel that was called 4-inches but the platform is thin. One like this size with small platform would put you 5ft 10-10.25 range and This height of heel would not put you over 5ft 10, possibly just a smidge underneath that 5ft 10 mark.]

I need to be 5'7.5" - 5'8" so I'm not taller than my fiance and so my dress doesn't need alterations.whats the tallest inch heel I can wear to make this happen? My shoe size is 8-8.5
[Editor Rob: I'd buy a heel with a thin platform at front. If you wore similar style to this Here, it has a thin bit at front, and although it's called 4.5 inches...it really gives you more about 3.1-3.2 inch range...so you would be very similar to your fiance.]

Do platforms add to your height? Say if you had a 6 inch heel with a 2 inch platform, how much height would it give? If heels without a platform lift you up the height of the heel with one inch shaved off, how much will a platform add? Thanks. :)
[Editor Rob: it depends on the angle of the heel. With 2 inch at front you are already sitting 2 inches higher...now if the heel part is making your foot go nearly as high as you can on your tip toes you might then be getting another almost 3 inches, so about 5 in total. If the angle isn't as harsh with a 2-inch platform type heel then you might get somewhere in 4-4.5 inches of actual height.]

I find it rather funny that many people/women seem to think that you gain the height of the full heel height, which is absorbed. Unless you are walking with frankestein platform style shoes, then you will most likely gain the full height of the platform, but if that's not the case, then no! I am just saying this based on an experiment that I conducted with my girlfriend who is 5'10" on the dot, and even though she is already pretty tall for a girl herself, she still wears pretty large platform heels. She usually wears 6 inch platform heels that make her close to 6'3 (190cm), which is close to my 6'3.5" height (192cm), but not 6'4" as someone would have expected her to be. And that is simply because platform heels, stylleto style, are angled, and not flat, so you dont gain the full height of the heel. And yes, my girlfriend is confident enough to wear big platform heels because she knows that even she wear 6 or 7 inch heels I will still be a bit taller than her. That's the advantages that she gets for having tall boyfriend like me! ;)

[Editor Rob: big heels can certainly cause foot/leg pains after a while and to be fair I wouldn't recommend wearing them a lot.]

[Editor Rob: if he wears 0.75-1 inch shoes he's going to be almost 6ft 1...you might get 4 and a fraction out of your heels so not quite 6ft...I think he will safely appear taller by an inch or so.]

If this is true, I wonder how my girlfriend looked taller than me in high heels. It measured me at 1.80 barefoot. My girlfriend measured herself at 1.67. We were both barefoot, my girlfriend put on some high heels that did have a platform on the front, she made me stand up, we were in front of the mirror, and she looked an inch taller than me and started laughing. The high heels were her sister's and she already took them back. I was kind of shocked so later I looked at the shoes and they seemed to only have a 5 inch heel (estimating) in the back, I really think that they were 5.5 inches tops, the heel was real thick, and there was a platform in the front. My girlfriend does have big feet, she wears a size 10. I was up a long time that day, since early in the morning, I am wondering if I lost height during the day. I even tried to stand up straight and as tall as possible when we compared heights. She has worn really high heels around me and has not seems so tall but they didn't have a thick platform in the front. Do some girls get more height based on their bone structure, foot size?
[Editor Rob: a longer foot can mean the pivot point is further back and they can get more (if size 9-10 compared to a female with size 3-4)...it might in some heels be like half inch difference. From what you say, she would need at least 13cm out of those heels to match your height - her eyelevel might be higher so it might have felt she was taller, but it was just eyes and you were nearer? For 13cm I'd expect a heel with 2-inch platform at least to push it up that high.]

[Editor Rob: you really need a heel that has between 1 and 1.5 inches at the front platform. Something like This shoe has a smallish platform, even though the heel is called 4.5 inches it won't give you too much more than 3.2-3.3. We need to define Heel Height. Displacement of the heel above the foot pad plane-6inch heel, 5inch platform=one inch heel elevation. A size 4 US foot could not have a 6inch heel even in a ballet boot.

Rob,

I've got some 1" lifts that are very comfortable. I can only wear them in my High-top Converse All Stars (like the ones you show up there).

I'm getting a pair of boots (maybe Timerblands or Ariats) to wear with my lifts. This seems to be an easy way to gain almost 3 inches over my barefoot height. Yet it seems like you say this would be very impractical.

What do you think?
[Editor Rob: well in boots it's easier to put an inch lift than a shoe...but getting 3 inches you really need 1.5 inches of lift and walking about a lot in that high a lift won't be that comfortable. I guess you could always get used it, afterall women walk about in high shoes all the time.]

I'm a guy who wears cowboy boots with an honest 6 inch heel, and I've been wearing them for years for working, hiking, etc. I always like very high heels on cowboy boots because honestly they're much easier to walk in since they have such thick soles that refuse to bend. I'm 6'0 tall, 6'6" in these boots which is very impressive. In the summer, mostly for hiking, I wear them with very short cutoff jeans.

Mr. P said on 7/Apr/13
If you want body height, platforms do more than heels. For comfort, get platforms with a heel that adds no more than 2 inches more than the platform. Trying to get more than 2 inches from heels is going to exponentially increase your pain, especially if you plan on wearing them for more than an hour.

I'm 6'2, and my wife is 6'0. At school, she was more conscious of her height, but over time that has gradually disappeared. Now she usually wears heels, and I certainly don't mind if she wears some boots that bring her to my height or even taller - in fact it feels pretty good when she does. When you're already taller than everyone else in the room, there's no way you feel any less 'manly' when the only other contender is already with you ;-)

What is the highest amount of xtra height females can get from heels. I know some heels are advertised as 6" heels, but I doubt they get actual 15cm/6" of added height.

I have noticed that super-high heels are in fashion nowadays. All the celebs seem to be wearing them. How Annoying for us guys.

[Editor Rob: big 6-inchers which have 1.5 inch platform or even up to 2 inch platform will give 4.5-5 inches, many of the ones I see celebs wear are around 4-4.5 inch, they are very high angled.]

i am 5'3 3/4 . I have heels adertized at 4 1/2 heels actually make my height 5'7 1/2, not 5'8 1/2 as you would think. So they give me 3 3/4 height difference. I also have a pair of 5 inch heels but when i wear them im 5'8 which gives me a height increase of 4 1/4 height. If you want to ballpark how tall you will be with a certain pair of high heels, take about an 3/4 off the height of the advertized heel, 1 inch if you like rounding : )

I'm 5'10. I reached my height at age 14-15 and stayed the same. I'm 23 now. I was always the tall girl at school but it never bothered me. It wasn't until I reached 17 and put on weight that I became self-conscious, never wearing heels. If you're tall and fat you stand out more & feel like a giant! So I only wore flats then. Since losing the weight I have no issues wearing heels which put me at about 6'1. I'm not masculine looking at all! I have a small frame, long legs which I love, don't have big hands or feet. I've seen very short girls who were masculine looking, so that's not a height issue, it's all about proportion & your features. My last bf was same height as me, so when I wore heels around him I felt uncomfortable cos he did. I'd love to find a super tall guy 6'4 plus! So I could wear my highest heels and not worry hehe ;). Most guys want to be the taller one, something to do with wanting to feel "manly". I wouldn't mind dating a guy my height or slightly shorter if he was confident with it, something I once would never consider. Recently I saw a gorgeous couple at the movies, the girl was taller than the guy & in heels & looked stunning, like a supermodel! The only time I feel self-conscious about wearing heels out, is if my gf's aren't wearing heels too cos I don't like towering over them. Oh, and I'm European, most people from Europe I find are taller. Americans & Aussies seem to always be shorter!

I can share a personal story about how much height heels really add. Rob is correct, but it really all depends on the platform. My very tall friend who loves heels was also curious about this and being a good natured girl, she agreed to do these measurements. We went to a doctor's office that had one of those really good stadiometer height rods. In her bare feet, she was 5'10 1/4". In her highest heels, Colin Stuarts with an advertised (and confirmed as measured by me) heel height of 5.5" and a 2.0" platform, she was 6'3 1/8". So the heel actually gave her 4.9" of added height. To verify it, I had her stand barefoot again and then stand on her tip toes as high as she could. I measured that quickly with a ruler, and sure enough it was about 2.9" or so (definitely between 2.75" and 3.0"). So that makes total sense if you do the math. 2.0" platform + 2.9" angle of the foot on the heel equals 4.9", or the difference between 5'10 1/4" and 6'3 1/8". We then tried it with another pair of heels where the advertised/measured heel was 4.5" but the platform was only 1.0". In those, she stood 6'2" spot on the nose, for an added height of 3.75". We expected a gain closer to 3.9" based on the other data, but the small difference is likely due to the fact that the 5.5" heel made her foot angle as steep as it possibly could go, while the 5" heel allowed her to use a very slightly less steep angle. But the difference was very small. We actually repeated it and got the exact same results (I have an engineering backround, so insisted on precision). I hope this real life story helps. It all comes down to the platform. I would recommend to ladies who want to get the maximum height, to buy 5.5" heels with a platform of at least 2". That should give you nearly 5" of real added height. My friend says the heel makers are starting to come out with heels where the platform is over 2" and is even a little more concealed so they don't like stripper shoes. If you found a 2.5" platform, I think you could get close to 5.5" of real added height (using the math above). I can tell you, my friend was looking absolutely stunning standing over 6'3" in the bigger platform shoes. She was taller than even the tallest male doctor in the office!

I am a very solid 5'9", probably closer to 5'9 3/4". I am much taller than every woman I know. I always wear heels and then seem to tower over everyone. I have a pair of 4in. heels and they make me a good 6'1". I don't understand all this talk about tall women being unattractive and masculine, or that men don't like tall women. I have never met a guy who was turned off by my height, and I have dated guys that are 2-3in. shorter than me. My height has never been a problem. Interesting genetics: My mom is 5'2" My dad is 6'1" My older brother is 5'9" I am 5'9" Although my brother swears he is 5'11"!

Why would some people wanna be shorter? You don't need an operation, just slouch all the time as my grandmother once called me "Slouchie". Slouching takes off about 3-5 inches. I'm about 5'3"-5'5" when I slouch but when I stand up perfectly straight, I'm only 5'8.5" One thing for sure, you'd figure that being very muscular and very buff should be a bigger deal than height. And to those who wanna be taller, stop slouching.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to acheive a solid 3.5 - 4 inch increase? I am 5.6 and 3/4 in and I wear 1.5 in cowboy boots with a 1.5 insole lifts inside, with an additional 2 normal insoles from some other generic shoes. It seems like a whole lot, but its actually quite comfortable and I dont walk funny and people dont notice at all. I gain about a little over 3 inches exactly putting me at 5.9 3/4 . It's alot of height increase as it is, but I am curious to see if anyone has achieved a consistant 3.5 - 4 in increase with a cowboy boot styled shoe. Brand names of boots and insoles would be a nice help. thanks

[Editor Rob: there was a poster, I think Ziggy his name, that had custom boots with a very big insert that gave him something close to 4 inches he said.]

What about those 5 or 6 inch heels with the mega platform? How much added height do you get with those fancy red bottom shoes? Seems that you would get 4.5 - 5 inches at the very least and then what about people that use lifts too?

[Editor Rob: you do get heels which have the platform bit 2 inches thick and they can give 4.5-5 inch range for sure.]

can you give me a rough idea of how much height a standard "smart" dress shoe you might wear with a suit would give you? and how about a cowboy boot-style cuban heel? thanks, kp

[Editor Rob: 0.9-1.1 inch I think for a normal style heel and a cuban or cowboy thick heel usually gives 1.5-1.75 inch.]

What would you say is the height addition of a standard pair of flip flops? I measured myself in flip flops with a tape measure right before bed last night and was 6'1 1/4". I measured myself again when woke up today in the same flip flops and was right at 6'2". I would also imagine that measuring oneself with a tape measure not standing against anything isn't a great way to get an exact measurement, though.

[Editor Rob: it's harder to measure that way.

you'd be better holding a tape or rule against the sole of the flip flop to get a good idea of how thick it is, sometimes 0.5-0.6 inch is typical for them I find.]

the height doctor said on 11/Mar/11
the 95 bell curve range of height for women (in bare feet!) is 5 ft 0 to 5 ft 8. in other words, 95 percent of american women fall between this height range. only 2 1/2 percent of women are over 5 ft 8. only 1 in 1,000 is over 6 ft. for men, the 95 bell curve range of height (again, keeping it honest in bare feet) is 5 ft 4 to 6 ft 2. only 2 1/2 percent are over 6-2. only 1 in 900 is over 6 ft 5. this is why collegiate and pro basketball are such "elite" sports. a typical NBA team represents, with a mean height of 6-7 1/2, 0.001 percent of the general population. that is an ultra elite group of tall people. what is amazing is the increase in average male height (in the U.S.) over the past 150 years. in the mid 1800s, only 1 in 90 men was taller than 6 ft. today, 1 in 7 is taller than 6 ft. in other words, 150 years ago, 6-1 was 99th percentile height. today, 6 ft 4 1/2 is 99th percentile. and you wonder why abraham lincoln was considered so freakishly tall in that era, at 6-4 1/2. he was the equivalent of a 6 ft 8 man today.

SolidSnake, I kinda agree with you. Women over 5-9 look mannish and disproportioned, I would say she should be no taller than 5-10, anything above is a male height. My theory is that unusual tallness in women is mostly caused by hormone-ladened foods and possibly hormone medicines, I doubt it's got much to do with genetics. In fact, most girls never get to 1.72 and over. Many wear high heels, lifts and high hair, even get their bodies in shape to make themselves appear taller.

Rob, in your example above with the elevator shoe and Nike Shox, one would get about a 2 inch increase. I have purchased height increase shoes from another manufacturer, but they are probably similar. While it is true that at the back measurement there is a 2.5" increase, as you go down to the midpoint of the shoe it really is 2". I found the whole thing rather odd as the manufacturer's state a certain increase but that's only if measured at the very back end of the shoe. Evidently, the only way to get a true increase as measured at the heel in the shoe would be to have the entire insole of the shoe at a perfectly horizontal angle which of course wouldn't be too comfortable.

fyi, women reach their full height by age 21, men by age 25. i grew a full inch between age 17 and age 21, from 5'4 to 5'5...another interesting fact i've read is that women's boobs continue developing until age 21 and their hip/pelvic bones reach full width by age 25...the aging process for both females and males begins at 25, that's when the body's protein [skin's collagen, and muscle tissue] starts breaking down...that's why you rarely ever see very attractive ppl who are over 25 irl [forget celebs for a min] unless they're taking good care of their diet, health and fitness [few ppl do]...when u're 20 you can eat junk, barely exercise, and still look pretty good because your body is still developing and your cells get renewed at a quicker rate...unfortunately things dont work that way in your late 20's and beyond, more effort is needed to keep things looking good.

@greg If you are 5'10'' you are perfect average. I'm 6'8'' and people always ask me how tall I am. It is so damn annoying! I would rather be your height than 6'8''. It is hard to find clothes who fit me, beds, shoes etc. But then again: It's the way I am and I cannot change it. It is a part of me. Just like 5'10'' is a part of you. Just be happy about it! Leg lengthening is one of the worst things you can do! You are bound to a wheelchair for four months, and you are less mobile after the surgery. You are you. And you should be proud of it. I do not even think 5'10'' is short in any way. However, some stretching exercises can improve you posture, so you increase your height with 1 or 2 inches. Be happy with your life :).

Actually Taylor Swift is willowy... which is not about petite. She would have to be shorter to actually be petite; however, the misnomer comes from clothing sizes. I am 5'10 and wear Petite sizes as I am 129 lbs. My daughter is 5'11 and wears petite clothes, and she is 6lns more than me with an extra 1" of height. So figure my size is appx. 8 lbs less than Cyndi Crawford at 5'9 back in the 90's. Also, ballet dancers look petite until you get next to one with some height...she becomes statuesque (which is more what I think smaller girls are wanting, the things that fit the image of height and on which all clothes look best--that long legged, long torso-ed lean look). So you can be willowy and wear petite SIZES. BTW...if you want to feel as tall and lean as you can, skip the boob jobs ladies. Makes you look smaller and..um heavier as well as small breasts keep you looking youthful longer! Smaller B cup is best, although I would be happier with an A. Keep them REAL!

Sorry - but some people here really don't have their facts right. Honestly. The following comments drawn from current research conducted in developed nations. They present average outcomes accepting that there are always exceptions and extremes. FACT - On average we enjoy a better diet today than our our ancestors ever did. We receive a better profile of nutrients: vitamins, carbohydrates, protein etc with lower instances of bacteria in foods we buy. FACT - On average we are living longer than ever. Period. This is largely due to improved nutrition and medical advances. FACT - On average women are growing taller and have longer feet. Hip width is actually decreasing (with increasing consequences for birthing). Rather dramatic changes have occurred since as recently (in terms of human existence) since the late 1800s. FACT - Only 2% of women are taller than 5ft 10inches I'm 5'9". I love heels and especially pumps. I also love Thai food, music, horse riding and also hiking through pristine landscapes. Why? Well, apart from the reasons I know its just part of the mystery that makes me "me". Us humans tend to be like this - so cool isn't it! So, if you are a guy who prefers short girls then good on you and yippee for short girls - that is unless you are a just totally gross kinda guy. If you are a guy who prefers tall girls then good on you and ..same as before. Anyone guy who insults a girl simply because, heels or no heels, she just isn't his preferred height is simply showing himself to be a rude, obnoxious, vacuous little looser. If you manage to hurt some innocent girls feelings in the process then I hope your little "weiner" turns green and drops off. So girls, short and tall ... ROCK IT Whatever your height and fashion preference might be.

Sure, laugh at this, but seriously, Taylor looks really petite to me, moreso petite than a lot of smaller women, although many smaller women are very petite as well." The terms petite is often used incorrectly. It is supposed to refer to height not body frame or weight.

Like Kesha, the singer, she claimed 6-1, but she's really around 5-9. Could be that thicker soles are being made, I've been seeing a lot of girls wearing that. It's because people never really pay attention to other's shoes. I really don't think a girl should be over 5-10 tops, 5-11 and up is masculine height. Lots of guys prefer petite or somewhat tall women, taller ones will always be rare.

I believe as an average height person you'd be just as average as anyone else :) I know someone who's 5'5 and has size 9 UK shoe whereas I'm 5'9 and wear size 8. There has been evidence found by scientists that kids who grow up obese are more likely to have big feet than thin and light person who may have small feet. Anyway shoe size in america is 10.5 so I'd say around 9 or 10 in britain.

Believe me, in my younger years I tried very hard to get around that. My elder sisters are 5'9", 5'7" and 5'6" (though the latter two are my half-sisters, whose mother is 5'7"). So while their heights fit your theory more, I just don't. Women are pretty good at judging heights, actually, especially once we pass certain heights ourselves. Oh I don't know about women being able to judge heights, I'd say women above 5'10" are good at it usually... I'm 6'3" and I could probably claim I was 5'11" or 6'7" and some shorter women would believe either one!

you have given this a lot of thought! Wish it was more in cms. in trainers, u can slit the sole. and insert more than 1 cm. this looks like part of the style. a boot guy does it for patients with irregular leg length, a major cause of backache. and pronation. check out 'ballet boots' for extreme lifting. MBTs give a 3cm lift comfortably, found this site by accident, going to bkmk it.

Sarah says on 17/May/10 Shortandstocky -- not necessarily! I'm 6'1", female. My dad is 6'5" and my mom 5'6". Sure, I bet you're just exaggerating. A lot of girls are now telling their heights with heels.

This isn't entirely accurate. It depends on the shoe. I have a great example. My girlfriend bought 4 inch heels from a catalog. At the mall, there is a machine that measures you height with a laser. Wit her shoes on, she was exactly 9 cm taller than when they were off. They essentially turned her from a shade under 5-7" to 5'10" and a half. (170 cm to 179 cm). 9 cm is equal to 3.5 inches. And they had pretty much no platform.

Heights are barefeet estimates, derived from quotations, official websites, agency resumes, in person encounters with actors at conventions and pictures/films.
