It's interesting how Scandinavians are often tall, although this man isn't. I once read that shorter people are better adapted to cold climates as there is less surface area on their bodies, and this helps with heat retention. So one would think that northern Europeans would have evolved to be shorter not taller. It's a puzzle!

The reason that he is mentioned as 5.6 in Headhunters is because in the orginial novel by Jo Nesbí¸, the main character is described as 168 cm, with his girl being 180cm or something. They make a huge deal out of it in the book, but it is downplayed in the movie.
As for Aksels height, he is 172-173 cm, the same as me (have met him). Im also Norwegian. I dont think he has claimed anything else.

Most norwegians are rather tall so it's nice to see that our most successful actor is only 5'8. I believe there are more to people than just height, and this is coming from a taller guy.

Rob, he looks shorter than 5'8 in the shots with Waldau in Headhunters. Could it be on purpose the filmmakers wanted him to look shorter, when he's mentioned as 5'6?
Editor Rob: I'm not sure he really did look much shorter than 5ft 8. Waldau did look about 187cm himself and that's a big difference.
Funnily I didn't realise but I see his imdbResume (which is either himself or agent who enters the data) is height: 5ft 9, so that's what he is claiming!

Same height as Ian McShane. I think that his height has been listed 172cm in metric in the past and just rounded up for 5ft8 for Hollywood. Sometimes he does look like a strong 5ft8 ~ 174cm. Seen also 168cm listing, but he doesn't look that short.

IMDb has him as 5'6". He looked about two inches taller than 5'4" Jessica Chastain in The Martian. Hard to judge though since he hasn't done many American films.
