Smart guy and I have seen him claim that 5'9" regularly although even in clips I thought he was more 5'7-5"8". He is even under that which is surprising.

The in depth discussion here about Ben Shapiro, Mike Pence, Rand Paul, Cenk Uygur, and Ted Cruz suggests politicians are really insecure about there heights. We can't seem to peg any of these guys height's down or agree on anything. Every time they stand next to each other their height changes. They all clearly use lifts and dress shoes to exaggerate their heights. Whatever they claim, subtract at least 2 inches.

Dude think's he's 5'7". Then inflates what he thinks is his height by just 2 inches, thinking he can get away with it.

Yeah I find it hard to respect someone, particularly a male who adds more than half an inch to their height.
1 inch is massive. Like a flat 5'8 claiming to be 5'9, but even worst are the guys who fraud up by 2+ inches. Zayn Malik is a good example. clearly insecure and wants to be taller. Zendaya is the same but its kinda weird for a tallish girl to be obsessed with being tall

Correction: on stage he looked far taller than Cenk, but that may well have just been the depth perception. In photos they look the same height, Cenk maybe having half an inch on him. This is far tougher than I thought. He can look 5'9, he can also look 5'6. Shapiro's own father commented on his height saying, "I'm 6'0, Ben is three inches shorter than me,". He might be a lift wearer, I don't know.

This guy is not this short unless Cenk Uygur is over listed. Both have claimed 5'9", and are quite close in height. Rob, is Cenk only 5'7"?

Very self-conscious about his height, and tries desperately to compensate for it in other ways. Ironically, Napoleon is also listed at 5'6.5"....though unfortunately for 'not-so-Big Ben', Mr. Bonaparte was at least a solid average at his time and in his region, while B.S.(nice initials, hehe) is comfortably under.

I got my drivers license recently; I'm only 16. I'd say I'm 5'7" on a really good day, though I'm not entirely sure my exact midday height as I'm still growing and don't have any proper measuring techniques. Regardless, I thought about inflating my height to 5'9" since guys like Ben Shapiro do. But I cannot comprehend how anyone could be convinced I'm 5'9" simply by a license listing, so I went with 5'7". This guy...

How do you explain the photo with Cruz? Cruz is definitely below 6'0 and there is no way a 5'6.5 guy would look that short next to an average height dude like Cruz.
