I saw Benedict last night at a screening of 12 Years a Slave. He was very cold and walked by us without stopping or talking. Onscreen, he seems very tall, but he is really thin. 6 feet is about right.

Going by a lot of his fan-sites, his claim might be 184 cm. At least it's listed under "facts about Benedict Cumberbatch" on a lot of these sites. I'm sorry, but I just can't see that. I haven't seen or heard him claim his height, has anyone?

@Rampage: Personally I just can't see him over 6ft. All of the reasons why, I have listed in previous comments. He might be a teeny tiny fraction over 6ft straight out of bed, but that's not his mid-day/evening height imo. The listings on celebheights is meant to be barefoot mid-day/evening heights, correct?
In that regard I doubt he's a full 6ft, as he looks the same height as 5'11.5 Matt Smith and marginally shorter than Jamie Campbell Bower (who is 6ft). Rob have met both Matt and Jamie, and neither of them looked over 6ft with him. He can look anywhere between 5'11.5 and 6ft - so I'd go with the one between the two - 5'11.75. That's very reasonable for Cumberbatch imo, with a flat 6ft perhaps as an early day height. With Pine as well, who is in the strong 6ft range himself, he looks noticably shorter.

Rob regarding that mugshot, now it's only speculation, but the top of his head seems to be around the 6'0.5 mark, correct? Meaning he's 184 cm or so, maybe 184,5 cm in dress shoes. Of course it varies what different dress shoes give in height, but the ones I have feel very regular, and they make me go from 5'10.75 to 5'11.75 - 6' zone. He might have a slightly longer head than myself, maybe 0,5-1 cm or so (just guessing), so to me it seems more likely that he's about the 5'11.5 - 5'11.75 mark. I think that this is a case of a long head making someone look taller than they are. He is not much shorter than listed, but I'd go with 182 cm, max, instead of a full 6'0". He's a tall enough guy, but he's just not quite 6'0".

I always thought BC looked so tall in Sherlock (but then camera angles/shoe lifts/lankiness can be deceiving). When I met him last year, my immediate thought was "He's a lot shorter than I imagined". Most of my male friends and colleagues are 6'0 to 6'6, he did not feel to be in their height range, I put him at around 5'11.

The reason why I just can't see over 6ft for Benedict is that he can look more than 1 inch shorter than 6'1 Mark Gatiss, both on set, and in pics off set. He certainly doesn't look 0.75-0.5" shorter than Mark, so 184 cm is not likely imo.

I would go with 182 over 184, but that's just me. Like I've said; 183 is fine for Benedict, but it would be about the highest I'd argue.

Yeah, if you look at the top of their heads it doesn't look like a big difference because of posture and hair, but then you notice how much higher Hiddleston's shoulders are and suddenly it's obvious. They're wearing similar shoes there, too.
It shows well that Cumberbatch can look a lot taller than he is, but I still think he's way more likely 6' than 5'11".

Met Benedict last year, have a photo standing next to him. I'm 1.77m, was wearing flats - and I'm pretty sure he's 1.83, might be 1.84m in the morning. This was in the evening btw. (He was wearing dress shoes, but almost no heels on those.)

Pine is listed ast 6'1" in many places, and in Star Trek it was hard to tell the difference, depending on the scene. He just doesn't have the look of a 5'11" guy straining for 6".

The funny thing is that his agent's description of him says that he is 6ft. (but apparently he is being modest!) I've seen him up close in real life, and I would put him at at least 6'1", maybe more. Just watched all the Holmes DVDs AND saw Tinker Tailor - Cumberbatch has got to be over 6' - it's clear watching him next to just about everyone else, not just the very short Dr. Watson.

He certainly looks tall but then look at him next to Roger Allam (Allam looks only 5ft 9 in most things) Click Here I have seen Benedict standing next to allam in lots of pictures and allam always looks taller.
If you've seen game of thrones the first episode Roger allam stands next to Harry lloyd (who is 6ft according to most sources) a lot and he is absolutely dwarfed Click Here So unless Allam wears high heels everywhere (which i doubt) i wouldn't say cumberbatch is 6ft, it is also possible lloyd is wearing shoe lifs in game of thrones. Be curious to find out what height they are though

I also watched excerpts from his BBB presentation on Rattigan, where he revisited Harrow school and saw a picture of himself as a young boy with HUGE hands. Has anyone guessed his weight? I've heard him described as rail thin.

Yeah, 6'1" to 6'2" sounds right for him. Definitely not under 6', although his weight does make him look taller than he actually is. And then there's Martin Freeman... he's tiny. :P

He's definitely close to or over six feet tall. He also appears to be quite thin. I understand that he a bout of pneumonia while filming Sherlock. Perhaps this explains his weight.
