@Christian 5'5 3/8
This is obviously because you have never been to Asian countries. In East Asia, men who are shorter than 175 cm are considered shorter than average, and 170 cm are considered short. According to my experience in Western countries, most white men are like 172 or 173 cm and females are usually shorter, about 161 or 162 cm. You can go to some East Asian countries, or be an otaku at home all day, fake your height on the Internet and quote some useless false information."
Royal Shell said on 15/Jan/21
She is about 5'8 in the West. The average height of white women is about 5'3 and 5'4, while that of East Asian women is about 5'4 and 5'5. Most of the white women I see are not tall so I think they are cute... and I am 6'4, my gf is white she is 5'1

5ft 5 would be highest I'd have guessed her

Linke I dont know why kate claimed to be 5ft 5 after claiming 5ft 6 and 6.5 but I dont believe she is even a cm below 5ft 6. I'm that height myself and I know a 5ft 6 person when I see one
Mimi said on 28/Dec/20
She's equivalent to 5ft10.5 Western woman, East Asian women are close to 5ft2 on the average while South East Asian women are close to 5ft0

Shandong and Dongbei (Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang) have an average height of 5'9.5"-5'10" for high schoolers. Definitely shorter for the overall male population. Height has exploded in parts of China only recently. I think I saw a study that said merely back in 2012 the average Shandong high schooler height was 175 cm (5'8.9") when today it's around 177-178 cm (5'9.7"-5'10.1"). Obviously sample size and all that, but that's a 2-3 cm increase in merely 8 years.

I would guess the final average height for Dongbei/Shandong will be around 179 cm (5'10.5") or around Germany levels, shorter than Scandanavia/Balkans/Dutch, but taller than ethnic French, Spanish, Italians, British.

@RJT
I have a hard time believing 5'9.5" for any region in Asia, though I don't rule out something like 5'9" max for some Korean colleges where there are a lot of youngsters. But you're right, the distribution might not be as wide as the West. According to one article you sent me a while back, A 190cm (6'2.75") male in Japan is in the 99.9th percentile, equivalent to 6'6.75" to the US, even though the Japanese average is only around 2" shorter than US. And that 6'1" is 99%, the same as 6'4" in the US, but that's only Japan. I don't know about others such as China or Korea.

Very tall for an asian woman
RJT said on 24/Dec/20
@Christian

Yeah NE asians are relatively taller, but not much. Maybe comparable to South Europeans to the more northern Europeans, around 1 to 1.5" or so for men, for women it's not so much different, at most an inc.

If we go cheery picking and choose by region, you can even find average height for men in NE China province about 5'9.5" or exactly the same as in UK/US. I think it's fair comparison because the population in NE China is at least 8 figures or roughly equal to a Country in Europe or California state.

I still think the average height could represent median height as well, Asian people generally don't have that great of height variation like you'd find in the Western Country. Visited China/Japan for at least a month and S. Korea for a week and rarely I see guys my height.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 23/Dec/20
@RJT
Especially tall in SE though. NE Asians are relatively taller. I don't know too much about Taiwan, but the Korean average is apparently less than 2" shorter than the US/West.
RJT said on 23/Dec/20
@Christian

5'8 and half would be considered tall for women in most of South east & East Asian I believe as it's slightly taller than the average height for men. Maybe equivalent for 5ft 10 and half in the Western World, and Nicole Kidman is considered tall for a women by Western standard.

I rarely see girls taller than 5 ft 7 over here. Happen once or twice in a blue moon where I met 5'11 and 5'11.5 girl. (Both Asians)

Leesheff85, not sure about Kate Winslet, she has claimed 5'5 more recently but I doubt she's flat 5'5.

Aishwarya could be tad under 5'6, she has consistently looked 2 inches shorter than 5'7.5 listed Sushmita Sen. 167 cms range perhaps.
Miss Sandy Cowell said on 21/Dec/20
I'm sorry Christian. That should have read, 'If she's 5ft9, then 6ft.'
Have a great Christmas week! 😉🎄🎅⛄

Linke I believe aishwarya and kate would both be 5ft 6 flat judging from the pic. Not under 5ft 6 for either though

Beautiful woman and deffo really tall for an asian woman, but that's not really suprise me since she's a model.
Miss Sandy Cowell said on 21/Dec/20
@ Christian - If she's 5ft8 then I'd say 5ft11. If she's 5ft8, then 6ft! 😄

@Sandy
How tall do you think her western equivalent would be? I'm guessing around 5'11" or so, but it depends on the country. East Asia like Taiwan and Korea is taller than SE Asia or South Asia.
Linke said on 20/Dec/20
Aishwarya isn't over 5'6". Chi looks couple of inches taller than her.
