The difference between Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan is less than the difference between Leo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. If we assume the others are correctly listed, as I think we justifiably can, then the 5'11¾" listing for Bale makes a lot of sense. He can look a full six feet sometimes because he is slim and because ¼ inches are small and difficult to detect.
Overall 182cm seems like a good fit.

In Shaft he looks about what Rob has him listed next to Jackson. 5'11.5 worst case a best case of 6'0 like Mark said below. Was about a 5cm difference. I think Jackson was a peak height closer to 6'2" tho and probably nearer that in 1999 than his 6'1" listing.

Guys on the High School Football team that appeared to be very skinny ( JV) weighed around 150 at 160 around age 15 ( they got thrown around quite easily fyi).

It's premature to start talking about height loss. Bale is still a young guy in his early 40s. At most, we're probably talking a 1/4" and if he's even lost that, he was probably always near 182 range and simply dropped from 5'11.75" to 5'11.5". But with exceptions of wrestlers or major surgeries, height loss is really not an issue for most until they get into their 50s or sometimes 60s and when someone looks noticeably shorter, not a 1/4" tops, which is easy to account for with posture, regular differences in footwear, slight ground differences etc.

but he may have been taller by a tiny amount 10-15 years ago, I do think the filming of American Hustle did cause him some issue with his back, not as bad as the director made it out to be though.

As a matter of fact I can't take offence at Val Kilmer and Michael Keaton as Batman cause they were the two Batmans of my childhood memories though Clooney ruined it all. haha. But to be truthful Batman Forever and Batman and Robin were two of the worst Batman products ever. And Nolan's and Burton's Batman movies were the best so far. But afterall Bale was the best Batman no doubt about it.
He's 6'0 and Tom Hardy proved us that even a 5'8 guy could be Bane. so a 5'5 guy could be Batman. haha.

I'm not saying Bale is necessarily 5'10", but yet somehow standing at 181cm Nolan is looking as tall if not taller on almost every single picture, and I doubt Nolan is the guy who wears lifts.

MD - i kind of disagree Val Kilmer did pull of quite well showing us Bruce Wayne's dark/ totured side, especially if you look at scenes in batman forever at his parents funeral. Sure Kilmer was handsome but obviously looked nothing like Bruce Wayne.
In my opinion keaton and kilmer were belivable as the dark knight, the way clooney acted as batman was an insult to fans even though he was dark and classically handsome (not that tall though) like Bruce Wayne is. Ironic he looked perfect in the part with his square jaw, but he never seemed to wipe that smug look of his face throughout that entire laughing stock of a movie. He didn't show any emotion as batman at all.
I am a little indifferent to christian bales batman/bruce wayne and not nesscessarly just because he put on that over the top voice when he whenever he wore the bat-suit. He was passable as Wayne, but like someone said on the Keaton page his enemies stole the spotlight from him. Even though it should not matter he does have a reputation in real life as being a bit of an aggressive pycho which is evident in the memorable incident where he assaulted his mother and sister at a London hotel at the UK premier of dark knight. Bales film carrier since batman has never really taken of. I think Keaton personally was a grittier more believable batman.
I could of course just have a bias towards Keaton and even val kilmer since there batman films were a bit part of my childhood film memories.
On a final note Ben affeck is the first batman actor to have the build and height of Bruce Wayne. We will have to wait and see how we'll he does when his portrayal of the batman hits the big screen.

I would say its my fave childhood action movie and it is fun to watch today today for laughs because obviously you can't take a campy film like that too seriously. I'd say all the weight fluctuations may have taken a tad of a toll.

Because he stopped training and let the muscle go to flab. If you bulk yourself up you have to be very careful if you get ill/injured as you can end up fat. Plus 90 kilo is pretty heavy for 6 foot. Im 93 myself and when i get to 96 kilo even i feel it. 100 kilo is bodybuilder weight, Bale isnt that.

For anyone even with passing knowledge of body transformations or just common sense, you know that two people of the same weight (and even the same height) can look drastically different depending upon whether they are muscular or fat, and even two people of the same weight and build can look different depending on where their weight is stored. He doesn't come across to me as a true 183 cm man. He looks closer to 181-182 cm. I think if Benedict Cumberbatch is really 5 ft 11.7 in (in my opinion Cumberbatch is a true 6 foot man), then I think Bale needs to be downgraded to 5 ft 11.5 in (181 cm).

Yeah, I've seen enough evidence recently to suggest to me that Bale can be a 5'11.75" guy. Pretty close to six feet, it's hard to determine a quarter inch but does look maybe 0.75 shorter than Bradley Cooper and not anything more than an inch over Joel Edgerton.
