From what I could make out, this guy was a good 1in taller than Brosnan. So if Pierce was 6ft1½ then Daragh was 6ft2½-3

O'Malley can certainly play an Irishman but as another commeneter said - he's not 6/3". I'm a six foot four guy of Irish extraction myself. I currently re-reading all of the Sharpe books again. Yes all 19 or 20 of them. Cornwell describes each of the main characters over and over again because the books are also meant to be independent stories. Harper is described as a giant of a man, foot four and solidly muscled. He is contrasted with six foot Sharpe who before he a became leader of the rifles was in India described as 'the tallest man in the unit."
Watch the show on TV. Sean Bean, wonderful though he may be before the camera. just isn't very big. Nor is O'Malley. In any group shot several of the other riflemen are always bigger. Ocassionally Bean is the smallest guy in the frame. O'Malley isn't a midget and he his a trenmendous actor but he's jsut too samll for the character and his actions.

He played an Irish thug in The Long Good Friday alongside a completely unknown Pierce Brosnan. Might need to look at that scene again at the swimming pool

As much as I like Daragh (especially in Sharpe) he is not 6ft 3in but 6ft 2in or 1 and a half,in the great film "Withnail and I" he stands next to Richard E. Grant and looks roughley the same height......BUT has boots on with at least 2 inch heels visible if you watch closely.
In Sharpe he never looks any more than 3 inches taller than Sean Bean who is 5ft 10in,if hes was 6ft 3in he'd make Sean look really small,so in conclusion he's 6ft 2in,.....just.....sorry Daragh!
