@Arch: he could’ve been anywhere from 195-196 out of bed imho. I would guess similar to what I measure 6’5 out of bed and 6’4.25 afternoon which lines up with what Rob had him

Dolph was peak 6'3.5-6'4 out of bed now he's 6'2.5 out of bed and 6'2 through out the day. I can say he probably never was over 6'4 barefoot anytime of day thats a safe bet.

Haha that's hilarious!! A 1985 Dolph out of bed I think would have hit 196. He was clearly a good 5 inches taller than 5'11.5 Brandon Lee. 6'4.5 is still arguable for him in his 20s and 30s. His brother looks at least 6'5. The 6'5.5 he once said I think was most likely a shoe measurement. The amount of lifting he's done over the years and shooting action movies takes its toll on the body. Now there's plenty of questionable full 6'4 actors like Clint, Sutherland but like Seagal, Neeson and Goldblum, Dolph clearly fell in to the between 6'4 and 6'5 category.

Always a bit under Hasselhoff who was a legit 6-4. Pictures of them together prove this.

What makes no sense he says @ first they didnt want him because he was too tall Then he said they made him stand on a Box to make the Height difference greater ???? Hes way too young to lose close to 3 inches Probably 6ft3ish 6ft 4 tops
Shinbats said on 30/Apr/20
He has really inconsistent posture. I’d say he was exactly 6’4” at his peak, and 6’2.5” now. I believe he has had multiple hip replacements as well. Didn’t look any more than an inch shorter than Florian Munteanu in Creed 2.

Lifting a lot of weights six times a week and his action films/stunts takes it's toll on the body.

It's hard to believe he wasn't 6'5'' during his prime. He looked massive in that line-up at the start of Universal Soldier, but he was shorter than 6'5'' Tom Lister and 6'6'' Ralf Moeller. He must have been at least 193cm. I struggle to believe he isn't even 6'3'' today but he did look clearly shorter than Conan O'Brien.
berta said on 30/Mar/20
i go with his serious claim of 193 cm and beleive he still could be 6´3 if he stands at his tallest but looks a little shorter like most guys do in that age. he have lost 1 inch. that is realistic.
Cockstride said on 29/Mar/20
@ James B 172cm. Not true. It’s genetics. Some tall guys lose almost only an inch in old age. Mick Fleetwood. John Cleese for example. Some small guys lose lots some don’t.

this one of the longterm drawbacks of being super tall which is more height loss as you age.

@MrTBlack: yep we’re on the same wavelength. If we go with the listed height that Rob has here, that could span both ranging 193-194 also because I’m still unsure as to the true standard of this site. In my years here, I always understood it to be afternoon heights which is how I’ve always estimated and because Rob uses his for reference; but many times I see him refer to a celeb’s height as something they can measure at or around lunchtime. Rob mentioned his lunchtime to afternoon variation is similar to mine at 1/8” post 5 hours on his feet. Dolph could’ve been my height at his peak possibly at 6’5 out of bed and 6’4.25 afternoon height on normal days. That could also mean something like 6’4 7/8- 6’4 1/8 or 6’4 3/4-6’4”. I know seeing him next to Ralf Moeller who really did look around his listed height here in the 80s, he could look perhaps 3 cm to 1.5” shorter. It’s possible Ralf fell slightly below that 197 mark as he has also been listed at 196, but I have a hard time seeing him as just a flat 6’5” in his prime. Maybe today he is however or not far above it. But looking at the taller bodybuilders, Lundgren and Moeller look to be two of the most accurately listed guys on this site. Lundgren still looks 189cm or so and Moeller looks to be at least 6’5” today still. But I never saw Lou Ferrigno as a true 6’4” peak but maybe I’m wrong. However, I could see Arnold as 6’1” peak but his height today is all over the place so I’m not sure if he’s properly listed for his current height today. It was odd seeing Antonio Brown who is only 5’10” hold up with him the way he did. I wonder if Brown’s measurement came from a Pro Day instead of the combine as it appears to be something he would measure later in the day as opposed to early in the morning. I don’t put Brown below a solid 5’10” after seeing what I’ve seen
MrTBlack said on 14/Mar/20
@Canson

I think a hair over 6’4” at peak is still believable though. Overall, I’d say full 6’4” peak and anywhere from 6’2.5-6’3” now. Even the back of the Rocky 4 dvd jewel case describes him as “6’4” and 260lbs” on the back “ (although he admitted he was more like 238 lbs when R4 was filmed.)
Canson said on 13/Mar/20
@MrTBlack: that’s how I see it. A guy who would measure a near 6’5” out of bed if not right at 6’5” and then dip to around that mark. He may have claimed 6’6 from a morning measurement in shoes if he got somewhere around 197 range in them
Arch Stanton said on 12/Mar/20
Yes with Momoa it's hard to imagine he was ever much over 6'4. He really does only look about 189 now.
Arch Stanton said on 12/Mar/20
6'6 barefoot is extreme but he could certainly look a genuine 6'5 at times back in the late 80s and early 90s. He claimed 6'5.5 once, that might have been a legit shoe measurement.
MrTBlack said on 10/Mar/20
@Canson

Honestly, I feel when he claimed 193cm, he was being honest. I always thought 6’5 and 6’6” was extreme for him especially since he was shorter than real 6’5” guys he starred with like Ken Foree and Tiny Lister.

Honestly it doesn’t matter what time I measure myself, I’m always 6’025.
Not sure I’ve ever actually measured myself fresh out of bed though.
Met a few Celebs the same day and had pics.
The guy who I was with did note that the camera was slightly at the side favouring the celeb. Looking at the background as well I think on my pic with Dolph there was a slight tilt in his favour. Didn’t look any less than 6’3 to me.
Got a pic with Karl Urban the same day, Karl had big leather boots on and I was equal with him at 6’025 if that’s anything to go by.
Dolph had the big head and frame that Hulk Hogan had, the proportions of somebody who looks like they’ve lost height.
I could see a young healthy Dolph standing tall managing to hit 6’5.
Editor Rob
That background monopoly use is a bit curved if I remember, free standing style...

Actually I am not a fan of companies putting logo backgrounds like that, but most punters don't seem to care much about it.

I do though 😋

@Cedric: Although I'm not big on the 1/8" listings, it'd be a good one for Dolph's peak, however, Dolph was taller than Seagal peak. Here they are both with 6'8" Scott L. Schwartz(Ultimate Bad Guy) 6'10" around the same time: Click Here The Dolph photo is on the set of Bridge of Dragaons in 1998 when Dolph was 40 and the Seagal pic is from the set of Fire Down Below in 1996 when Seagal was 44. Dolph looks around 8 cm shorter, maybe 3.5" max and Dolph has normal boots around the 3 cm range, which might give him 1/4" over Bad Guy's sneakers, yet Seagal looks more like 4" shorter than Schwartz and Seagal was wearing cowboy boots as you can see in the film and as confirmed by Schwartz to a poster here James via email. I think 6'4" flat is the best listing for peak Seagal anyway since he's claimed it. Dolph was basically 6'4" as well, but I think it's more likely Dolph didn't drop below 6'4" at his peak than Seagal.
Rising174cm said on 12/Nov/19
I definitely don't see Dolph less than this listing. In fact, I suspect he still might top it for a measurement. Here is Dolph just a couple of months ago with Dan Reynolds who is listed at 6'4" by Rob: Click Here I don't even see a full inch between them there, though that might be Dolph standing a bit better there, but I still think Dolph would hit much closer to 6'3" than 6'2" standing for a measurement.

@ rising - excellent comparison of Dolph and Driver next to the same guy. Lots of people on this site overestimate some 6'2"-ish guys like Driver and think they're 6'3", I think because if you're that height and have decent posture - it will look taller than many imagine. But Dolph is probably closer to 6'3" than Driver

---------

Back in the 80's he could look it though James. I watched a few of his older movies recently and noticed he wore boots alot. Could also explain combined with his lean physique him looking taller.

Still barefoot in Showdown in little tokyo he had a very easy 5 inches on 5'11" Brandon Lee. I think Rob even has him listed higher than that. 6'4.25" is good for his peak.

@Rising: he probably has the same posture issues that some of the taller wrestlers such as Taker and Hogan have. Maybe he could squeeze 189-190 range or at a stretch 190 today. Peak height was around mine or only marginally shorter
Rising174cm said on 12/Sep/19
While it's pretty easy to peg Dolph around 6'4" peak, maybe 6'4.25", I think 6'2.5" is the absolute lowest Dolph could be today and I actually think he'd still measure more like 190 cm range based on how he looks with men Rob estimates to be a similar height or 6'2"-6'3" range.

With 6'2.5" listed Michael Rapaport within the last year: Click Here Dolph is definitely taller than Michael. The difference was considerably greater in 1995 when Dolph was still a legit 6'4": Click Here Maybe we can argue Michael lost a fraction by his late 40's or was always 6'2"-6'2.25", but even so, Dolph still looks closer to 6'3" with him or 190 cm minimum.

Dolph and 6'3" listed Lou Ferrigno, also within the last year: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Not only is 5 photos enough to conclude Dolph is taller than Lou, but you since the last 2 photos are full, you can see Lou's shoes are thicker and he's going up on his toes on his back foot with Dolph also bending his knee in the last photo. Either way, I don't see how Lou can be any taller than 6'2.5" based on this and it's inconceivable to me that he's taller than Dolph. 6'2.25" would be the most Lou looks if Dolph is 6'2.5", but I'm skeptical Lou is under 6'2.5' so I'd say Dolph at 6'2.75" fits well enough alongside him. I also believe Dolph was a stronger 6'4" peak than Lou was since I see no chance Dolph was under 193 cm or 6'4" peak, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out Lou had peaked at closer to 6'3.5" or 192 cm range.

Dolph is still clearly taller than 6'2.25" listed Terry Crews based on this pic taken the same year Rob met Dolph: Click Here Note that Dolph is bending his knee and has loose posture compared to Crews who is standing straight so I can't see only 1/4" between them. 6'2.5" Dolph means Crews shrunk to 6'2" flat or was never over 6'2" flat, both of which are possible, but I think you can easily still argue there's 2 cm between them. And it makes sense considering Dolph is still taller since he still looked around 3 cm taller than Crews back in these 2012 videos: Click Here Click Here and these 2010 pics with the first 3 full pics: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here 2010-2012 Dolph was still at least a solid 6'3" or probably 191 cm range, but has clearly lost at least another cm since.

Here's Dolph with Rob's friend 6'2" Big D also taken the same year Rob met Dolph: Click Here I see a full inch between them as opposed to just half an inch. This is one reason I don't rule out the possibility Dolph might still hit a full 6'3" standing tall for a measure, though I agree that a listing under that is a safer bet. Rob didn't seem to have much doubt about Big D being around 6'2".

Also, based on this pic taken less than 2 years ago, Dolph still measures up noticeably better to 6'10" listed Joonas Suotamo than 6'2.25" listed Adam Driver does: Click Here Click Here Of course, Driver could be more 6'2" flat and we don't know for sure that Suotamo is a full 6'10", but I see Dolph pulling off at least 6'3" with him.

I think it's mostly a matter of Dolph having naturally poor standing posture these days due to wear and tear, 2 hip replacements etc. but he seems to stand better next to men closer to his height as you can see with his good posture next to Big D compared to how he leans when posing with Rob. Either way, 6'2.5" may be a pretty good listing, but it's the absolute lowest I'd guess and I still think a 6'2.5" Dolph suggests or even requires in some cases that some of these other celebrities be downgraded, especially Ferrigno and Rappaport. If you see Jeff Goldblum and Liam Neeson these days, they're also examples of men who were at least 6'4" peak yet poor posture can make them look just 187-188 cm range these days.
Rising174cm said on 11/Sep/19
Fortunately, there's no need to speculate on how much Dolph lost by having his head down and a wide stance on uneven ground for the Universal Soldier pic because we have a lot of video footage of Dolph in the gym with Ralf Moeller in 2003: Click Here Ralf first appears around 1:14 and we see them until 2:30, we see a good comparison of Dolph and Ralf from 3:40 to 4:00 and again from 4:45 to 5:25. Here's a few stills: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Ralf is/was 196-197 cm and as you can see, he didn't have more than 3 cm on Dolph confirming Dolph was still at least 193 cm or a solid 6'4" as late as 2003.

Yes, I don't know. He could be measuring only out of bed but not doing it later and thus not knowing how much he loses (because he said "maybe" when claiming 187.5), or he could be really measuring like an hour after waking and is just using the term because he sees it on this site, and 187.5 in reality is near his low.
Either way this either confirms Dolphs listing or it just puts him a cm lower. I highly doubt he is below 188 anyway.

He was never as tall as 6’5.5” Ralf Moeller. That was an easy 3cm difference. And a bodybuilder like him isn’t likely to downplay his height. You do see above that he claimed 6’6” too. A guy his size hasn’t lost 3” in height as he’s only 189cm today with Rob. Maximum 6’4.25 min 6’4” peak

He also goes on to say that he is maybe 187 range in the afternoon. Not alot of people are aware of out of bed height. You literally have to to measure first hour of waking. Maybe Laurent will clear this up but i doubt it, he probably just came here after getting his pic at comic con.

Even then I’d say around 5 min after waking to get an accurate reading.

Hey. But if you are 6'2 out of bed, then you will lose 1 cm in like 1-2 hours (as everybody does) and be around 6'1.25 at your real low by the afternoon/evening.

---------

I don't think many people spring out of bed and grab a measuring tape dude :) Most likely Laurent is 189-187cm through the day.

So that leaves Dolph at 189cm as listed.

In this photo, he does not look more than 186 cm ... My personal impression was that he was 190 cm because when he was about 40 years old, every 8 to 10 years a century would be shortened by one centimeter, and even at an age It's more than 55 years old ... Given that my personal feeling was that his height was 193 cm (at a young age) and now he has lengthened 2 to 3 cm due to his age, so his current stature It should be about 190 centimeters ... but I read somewhere (I do not remember where !!) that was about 4 centimeters lowered due to foot surgery. Let's stature ...

Rising174cm said on 18/May/19
Dolph looks 6'4" flat with Soul in Pentathalon. It's actually one of the very few 80's and 90's films where he looks just 6'4" flat, but that's not a good time to pause to gauge because Soul is closer to the camera, which is behind him on his side and fully straight to look up at Dolph while Dolph is slouching. Certainly held 6'4" at his low and may have been 1/8" to 1/4" over midday, much like Goldblum and Neeson and probably a little taller than Seagal. Here you can see 41 year old Dolph with 6'8" Scott L. Schwartz looking only 3"-3.5" max shorter with maybe 1/4" footwear advantage: Click Here and here's 6'4" Seagal(in cowboy boots) looking shorter next to Schwartz: Click Here And we can further confirm Schwartz height next to solid 6'1" Ed O'Neill: Click Here 6'5" Vince Vaughn: Click Here and 6'2.5" listed Bernie: Click Here Note, Schwartz had about 1 cm up to 1/2" footwear advantage over Vaughn, which is why Vaughn looks no taller than Dolph next to Schwartz. That's a very good full pic of Dolph standing next to Schwartz who has perfect posture. Furthermore, we can see Dolph easily 6'4"+ with 5'9" Charlie Sheen: Click Here and next to Alan Light, who was probably 5'9.5"-5'10" though he claims 5'10.5": Click Here Aside from the dozens of other comparisons I've posted showing 80's and 90's Dolph at a solid 6'4"+, we know he wasn't a mere 6'3" because he was initially turned down for Rocky 4 for being over that height and Dolph was still often looking a good 191+ range even when the first 2 Expendables were released from 2010 to 2012 and his height loss was noticeable by then. Remember the 90's video with a 6'1"+ Arnold where Dolph was strangely looking more like 4" taller than Arnold as opposed to just 3" and generally had worse posture.

And nobody is saying Dolph is still 6'4" so of course he's now shorter than Roland. But please stop with the Colbert nonsense. Dolph was easily 1.5"-2" taller next to Colbert than Obama was. A blind man can see that. We've been over this like a dozen times, but let's make it a baker's dozen: Click Here Click Here Click Here

I'd give Dolph 190 cm today, but he could be anywhere between 6'2.5" and 6'3". Florian can look anywhere from 2 to 3 cm taller than Dolph so it's probably about an inch between them. Here's video of Dolph looking around 3 cm range shorter even though he has Converse while Florian has Nikes giving him a good half inch advantage in all likelihood: Click Here and here's a full pic where Dolph measures up quite well: Click Here much like he does in these photo from the same event: Click Here Click Here Of course, Florian could be just 6'3.5" as well, in which case you could argue the current listing for Dolph is most likely.
Pierre said on 17/May/19
Imo he looks clearly under 6"4' next to David Soul (make a pause at 9:46 = Click Here ). Click Here here next to Roland Kickinger listed 6"4',even with a better posture he's distant to the 6"4' mark and Roland is not standing perfectly straight too. Here is a comparison Dolph /Stephen Colbert(probably around 5"10.25') with Barack 6"0.75'/ Stephen Colbert = Click Here Click Here you can see Stephen eyes are around the same height as Dolph's and Barack's mouth, then the difference between Dolph and Barack is slim.

He would’ve been 6’4” in his prime easily. I don’t rule out the same height as a peak Liam Neeson or possibly as tall as Jeff Goldblum peak but today he’s no more than 189cm maybe 189-190 if he stands tall. He can honestly struggle to look 6’2 in some more recent pics but likely due to poor posture

I hit 6'4.5" at age 19 and at 53 I am the same, maybe 1/4 less at the end of the day, tops. I'm not much younger than Dolph, and given his staying in shape, he is even less likely to lose height.

@Pierre: It's highly likely they minimized the difference there to make it easier to frame. This is why the still I've posted where Dolph looks 6" taller is much more compelling because not only are they directly side by side, but there'd be no reason to make the difference bigger than it is. There may be a slight tilt in Dolph's favor in that scene, but Ashton has an advantage being closer to the camera AND Dolph is slouching. Here's another still from that scene: Click Here and yet one more: Click Here You notice there's no tilt in the last one and Ashton has a noticeable advantage being closer yet he's still below Dolph's eyes meaning that's still a bare minimum 5.5" difference, possibly 6". And we can see Dolph could look right over Ashton's head in another indoor scene: Click Here and granted this final photo was outdoors, but if you notice Dolph is a little hunched around his upper-back and shoulders while Ashton is standing straight: Click Here Notice that even if we count his hat, Ashton is still at least 6" shorter.

And there's no doubt Dolph lost more height than Rob in their photo by leaning noticeably. Rob has confirmed this and Dolph in general stands much further from his measured height than Rob. That pic with Ralf Moeller exaggerates the difference because Dolph has a wide stance, his head is down AND they're outside meaning the ground level is uncertain. Again, as Canson said, the difference was only around 3 cm: Click Here Click Here Click Here and here's the original video: Click Here Aside from the timestamp, you can compare them at 1:12, 3:05 and for about 40 seconds from 4:45 on. The difference consistently looks 2-3 cm range and this is video taken indoors, not a single outdoors photo with Dolph losing height from both a wide stance and his head being down.

It's also not true that Dolph and Van Damme were a mere 6" apart. They obviously made Van Damme taller for Universal Soldier and promo pics, plus he's more than a little closer in most of those pics and in the one offscreen pic, Van Damme is both closer to the camera and Dolph is bending his knee while leaning at the same time. If you want to see the real difference between them, go to the behind the scenes clip where we can see their entire bodies so we know Van Damme isn't standing on anything and no camera tricks are employed behind the scenes: Click Here Even though Dolph is walking with his head down, he completely dwarfs Van Damme by an easy 7". We can compare peak Dolph to another 5'9" man Charlie Sheen and he again towers him by easily 7"+: Click Here And this isn't even considering that Dolph was probably only wearing sandals or possibly even barefoot since he was dressed as a lifeguard. 0% chance he was just 191 peak and 0% chance he's 187 today. He never looked below 193 before his 50's and he only looks 187 now when he slouches. If he were 187 then you'd see him looking more 183-184 at times when slouching and that would also mean Ferrigno, Rapaport and Terry Crews are all only about 6'1".

@Miiiiiiighty: Actually, Dolph generally looked more 191-192 range during the first 2 Expendables as you can see in that Expendables photo I posted with 6'2.25" listed Terry Crews plus full premiere photos: Click Here and video as late as 2012: Click Here That certainly looks like a good 3 cm difference, especially considering Dolph's big head. Furthermore, we can see Dolph at that same time(late 2012) still only slightly shorter than 6'4" David Hasselhoff: Click Here Click Here The difference seems maybe half an inch, but certainly not as much as an inch. So during the period the first 2 Expendables were filmed, Dolph had to be a minimum 6'3" and a max 6'3.5". He clearly lost a little more height between the 2nd and 3rd Expendables since by 2014, he was looking more 6'3" to even a weak 6'3" or 190 cm so he may have shrunk down to his current height by then, though it's possible he's lost another fraction because you can argue he's as short as 6'2.5" since 2015, but not before that, imo. I'd still guess more 190 range standing straight for a measurement. You're right that Dolph's height loss has been pretty striking the last 10 years, especially considering how huge he was in the 80's and 90's and his posture has been abysmal as Canson so aptly put it during that same decade.
Canson said on 13/Apr/19
@Viper: 6’4” flat peak minimum. But I doubt he was any higher than I am currently at 6’4.25. Somewhere between the two at a low or right at either. He looked about 3cm shorter than Ralf Moeller maybe 1.5” max. I agree with just about everything Rising said earlier here

This is getting hilarious..
6'2 prime Dolph ? Really .. What would that make Stallone ? 5'6 ???
He is most likely still a good 6'2.5" with his best posture..

Hard to believe how much height he has lost though... Judging by the pic with Rob he would barely be 3 inches taller than me if he stood as straight as possible..
Met him back in the days and he towered over me.. Like 6 inches taller ( I'd guess him 195 minimum in 1999-2001 ) barefeet (in karate attire )..

I was shocked when I saw him in King Rising 2.. A lot shorter than he used to be, hunched AF and moving like he was just out of the hospital after a hip replacement surgery.
Didn't age well.. Sad..

ps : Dolph seems to have lost height quite fast in the latest years, he was still looking a good 190+ around the 1st Expendables but now .. ( maybe linked to his hip issues / surgeries ? )
Rising174cm said on 6/Apr/19
lol, Dolph is looking 187 cm while obviously leaning with Rob, NOT 6 feet. And 6'2"-6'2.5" prime is nothing short of hilarious. He's still at least 6'2.5" and if he's just 6'0" then that means current Lou Ferrigno, Terry Crews and Michael Rapaport are all only 5'11" range!

Here's Dolph back in 1995 towering 5'10.5" John Ashton indoors by what looks like more than 6": Click Here That's from The Shooter/Hidden Assassin

Dolph also easily had 2" on Fred Williamson in BLackjack(1998): Click Here Click Here You can see in their scene that Dolph walks behind Williamson(further from the camera), slouches a lot and still looks taller.

Remember, even a noticeably shrunken Dolph looked more than an inch taller than 6'2.25" Terry Crews from 2010-2012 in full pics AND video from events. Here's Dolph with a noticeable slouch still easily taller than Crews behind the scenes for the first Expendables: Click Here 2010-2012 Dolph was still most likely 191-191.5 range or easily 6'3"-6'3.5" while prime Dolph was at least a solid 6'4" or a solid 193 cm(as in never dropped below that during the day) until at least 2003. More proof of that is how Dolph stacked up to 196-197 range(or 6'5.5") Ralf Moeller in 2003: Click Here Click Here Click Here Clearly, there's only 2-3 cm between them so once again, Dolph was a solid 193 cm and never below that, possibly even 193.5-194 range before his height loss became noticeable in his late 40's/early 50's and now Dolph has shrunk to probably 190 cm or a minimum 189-189.5 range.

@Pierre: You can't trust Roberts in shots like that where you can't see his feet because he'll go way up on his toes as you can see here: Click Here Rob asked Eric to go back to back so he couldn't do that and Eric had gone up on his toes with Mr. R as well. You can see Eric pulling himself up here and he's still clearly shorter than a slouching Daniels: Click Here Footwear is unknown in the Snipes pic and city pavement is usually uneven so we don't know if Snipes has the ground advantage. For instance, this photo is from that same scene, but Daniels suddenly looks clearly taller than Snipes: Click Here Here's a full pic of Gary back in the 90's with 5'8.5" Jackie Chan: Click Here That's around the time of Gary's pic with Tagawa and Gary definitely looks 5'10" compared to Jackie. You mention the average guess for Snipes, well 13 votes for Daniels have him at an average of 5'10.35". It's possible Gary isn't a full 5'10", but he's taller than a flat 5'9". Here you can see him edge Statham in another full pic even though Statham may be favored if anything: Click Here Even if Gary is only 5'9.5" instead, that still puts Tagawa looking 5'11"+ in their photo and Expendables-era Lundgren looking 6'3"+ with him.

@Canson: Good post as usual. Crews is tough. I think Rob's 6'2.25" listing is good, though Terry has sometimes looked a weak 6'2" so I can see 6'2" flat argued as well. I'm actually sort of surprised at how clear it is that Dolph is still taller since if you look it even appears his knees are bent: Click Here But not too surprised since Dolph had clearly lost height by the time of the Expendables yet appeared more than an inch taller than Terry when the first 2 films were released. 2010: Click Here and 2012 video: Click Here I'd think Dolph at that time still had at least 3 cm to 1.5" on Terry. He's obviously lost more height since then and Terry himself may have lost 1/4" by now, but Terry still edges Ryan Reynolds. I had always believed the 6'2.5" figure for Rapaport since many thought he was 6'3"+ before seeing his 6'2"-6'2.5" claim, but he could have dropped 1/4" himself now in his late 40's and be 6'2.25" or even 6'2" flat, though Dolph obviously had a lot more height on Michael in 1995 than 2018. None of these 3 guys(Lundgren, Crews and Rapaport) have ever had good posture, which can make height loss more probable.

But as I said, my thoughts on Dolph's peak are similar to yours. I think about 6'4" flat at a low is still most probable and perhaps 1/8" to 1/4" above that for a midday measurement, much like Goldblum and perhaps Neeson in their primes. It does make sense that Dolph's 195 cm claim came from an early measurement in the 80's, which matches up well with a 193 cm measurement later in the day. The one thing I'm unclear about is whether Dolph meant to claim 193 as his peak height or if he meant that at the time of the interview, which I believe was in 2005. But the last 10 years or so, Dolph seems to refer to his height at the time of Rocky 4 as being either 6'4" or 6'5". This suggests to me that he may believe he was between those at his peak, especially if he measured both earlier and later in the day, but it also tells us 6'4" is about right. Doesn't rule out a fraction above since you know firsthand that many who are a small fraction above 6'4" won't bother with the fraction, but the 6'5.5" and 6'6" claims seem to be something he only tried in the 80's, perhaps for his image after Rocky 4. He regularly got listed at those figures until the early 90's, but I haven't really seen those listings since so I think that was mostly for his career. I'd guess he probably measured 6'5.5" in footwear at one point in the 80's and then rounded that up to 6'6". I think he admitted height loss as early as 2008 and then definitely on Swedish TV around 2011. Many men won't admit to shrinking as we've seen with Trump and even Clint Eastwood and I haven't seen Lou Ferrigno acknowledge shrinking either. I think Lou was probably 6'4" peak, but I have some doubts and suspect he could have been just 6'3.5" peak. I still give Lou about 6'2.5" current and I think the lowest I'd guess would be 6'2.25".

@Pierre: there are certainly photos out there that support Cary being a full 5'11" peak such as this 1996 photo with Gary Daniels, whom Rob lists at 5'10": Click Here and Cary measures up well to Donald Sutherland in this movie still from 2000: Click Here Sutherland probably wasn't 6'3.5" anymore at 64 years old, but as long as he was still 6'2" -- and he definitely was -- then Cary looks at least 5'11" in that still. I tend to trust Rob's judgement on people he's met and the pictures you posted don't bring Cary's peak height into question at all. It's very probable that Cary lost at least half an inch by his 60's as Rob estimates. In fact, the average loss for a 60 year old man in one survey was 2 cm and Cary was 65-66 in the photos you just posted. Luke Kleintank doesn't have a page here, but Joel de la Fuente doesn't look much taller. Around 1 cm, maybe half an inch max in the first photo, 2 cm max in the second photo and then maybe an inch in the last photo. Cary looks to have a footwear advantage, though I'm not sure exactly how much. Even considering footwear(probably a half inch or so advantage or in the 1 to 1.5 cm range), 65 year old Cary doesn't look less than 177-178 cm with 181 cm de la Fuente and he could still be 179 since Cary seems to be developing a bit of old man posture compared to Joel and he can even look taller in this pic: Click Here which also suggests the difference wasn't much at that event.

Btw, speaking of Gary Daniels, here he is with Dolph(clearly past his peak) on the set of the first Expendables: Click Here Click Here Click Here Dolph still looked 6'3.5" with Daniels and Dolph's posture seems pretty loose and casual.

@Rising: Dolph May still edge those guys. I have Crews at Max a solid 6’2” but likely is that. Rappaport is someone I couldn’t gauge but will try. I leave the solid 6’4 peak at a low for Dolph because of his 193 claim but even then it could be like 193.3 meaning closer to 6’4 1/8 at a low. He prob would’ve been around 195 out of bed. Of the full listing then he would’ve been probably over. I know Rob uses 5 hours ish out of bed. At that stage for me I would prob be closer to 6’4 3/8 but I use my low since it’s within reach some days even right at 193.8 after 5 hours if I’m on my feet for almost the entire time

@Rising=Cary Tagawa was in rare shoes next to Rob and Rob maybe is a little bit generous with his height barefoot plus he was only 61 years old in the pic next to Rob and in a good shape then had maybe not lose height by the years. Here next to Luke Kleitank listed 6"0' =

Here's some stills of Dolph and a barefoot 5'11" Cary Tagawa from Showdown in Little Tokyo(1991): Click Here If you scroll down to the final pic, you'll see Dolph's footwear, which looks pretty normal and flat so definitely around an inch, but you can see Cary is standing perfectly straight while Dolph is bending his knees in every pic and standing loose in general such as the 3rd pic where he's leaning forward. Despite this, Dolph consistently looks about 6" taller and though we have to subtract an inch for footwear, he'd gain some, possibly even all of that back in posture. And some stills of them from Bridge of Dragons(1999): Click Here Both wore boots that looked in the normal 1"-1.25" range. Unfortunately, Cary's hat makes it impossible to gauge the exact difference, but I'd definitely guess over 5" between them considering eye level, Dolph's big head and Cary's military posture compared to Dolph's more casual posture. Seemed a good 6'4" at the time of both these films, imo.

@Canson: 6'2.5" is definitely in my range. I go back and forth on where I think he'd measure in the 6'2.5"-6'3" range so 6'2.75" or 190 cm is probably my best current guess. As for Ferrigno, I'm not ready to go as low as 6'2" flat myself, but if Ali Baba also thought 6'2.5" possible then I can agree with that. Interesting because I'm also wondering where Michael Rapaport and Terry Crews currently are in that same 6'2"-6'2.5" range.

And every page gets som ridiculous comments like these ones from Luke F with a random poster making completely unbelievable claim for the celebrity in question. It was only a matter of time before one of these popped up on Dolph's page.

He is 6 foot flat on a good day. I have stood in front of him and had a good 2 inches on the guy. I am 6'2 he was noticeably shorter. He was never 6'5 or anything like it
Canson said on 3/Feb/19
@Rising: agreed. I think 6’2.5 is about where I could see if he stands straighter. I would give Ferrigno 6’2” today based on how he looked with Ali Baba. He’s noticeably shorter today than at his peak and he doesn’t have great posture either. I would say a peak Lou was 6’3” range though maybe even 6’3-6’4 at a push

@Canson: I think he was as tall as Goldblum peak and could actually seem taller in some films, but that's probably because Dolph's size was sometimes emphasized in his roles unlike Goldblum. I don't think Dolph sometimes looking a weak 6'2" nowadays is surprising at all considering his abysmal posture as you so aptly put it. Neeson and Goldblum can also look in that weak 6'2" range now due to posture. But the 6'2.5" Rob has Dolph listed is the lowest I'd guess him measuring since he can still look 6'3" when he stands better. Also, he's still clearly taller than 6'2.5" listed Michael Rapaport, 6'2.25" listed Terry Crews, had at least an inch on Rob's 6'2" friend Big Dale in their photo and looked taller than 6'3" listed Lou Ferrigno. Of course, we agree Ferrigno isn't 6'3" anymore, but my point is Dolph still looks taller than a lot of guys in that 6'2"-6'2.5" range. Here's a full photo where Dolph looks 6 cm taller than 184 cm listed Michael Jai White: Click Here Click Here but also notice Michael is standing fully straight while Dolph's posture is still loose and looks like he could straighten up more and it also looks like Michael could have a tilt or ground advantage. This premiere video is another example of current Dolph still looking quite tall: Click Here If you notice, he still pretty much towers over solid 5'11"/181 cm listed Ron Perlman despite a high angle which would typically minimize height differences and bad posture since Dolph is doing that stance where he bends his knee, drops height in his hips and leans. I'm fine with the listing, but standing straight for a measurement, I can see Dolph possibly measuring anywhere from 6'2.5"-6'3" today. No more, no less. This is based on being taller than those other 4 guys around 6'2" or 6'2.25"-6'2.5" in some cases and also how Dolph looked with Florian, Momoa and Colbert.
Canson said on 31/Jan/19
@Jdubbz: I could see 6’4 for him at his peak but today he honestly looks barely 6’2 at times. Peak he could be similar to Hasselhoff or Neeson or even Goldblum

I don't see any reason reason to doubt 193 cm peak myself: Look how massive he looked walking with 5'9" Van Damme even though Dolph's head is down the entire time: Click Here I'm often skeptical of height loss, but not in Dolph's case. I watched Black Water recently with someone who didn't know about Dolph's injury history and hip replacements and they actually noted Dolph didn't seem to stand well.

Rising - 174 cm said on 11/Jan/19
@Pierre: Yes, but Dolph slouches at times as well in the video. In general, I think they stand pretty similarly there. Both casual rather than military and that's the benefit of a video, we can see more than one moment. As for Rapaport, well the average guess is also 6'2.3" so imo, he's probably in that 6'2.25"-6'2.5" range or 6'2" at the absolute worst. I think Wentworth is too close to compare there, especially with the camera below them.
Pierre said on 11/Jan/19
@Rising= i think Florian lots of times slouch a little bit when he talk to Dolph in the video. In some pics you posted i think he slouch a little bit too, with a S posture and more space between his feet .
I really ask to me if Mickael Rapaport is in 6"2' range = here= Click Here you can see Wentworth is closer to the camera but watch the height of their closest shoulders.I guess Wenworth about 6"0'/strong 6"0' in the pic next to Rob
Rising - 174 cm said on 10/Jan/19
Here's another good full pic from that same day at Sirius Studios: Click Here Both look to be standing well and while Florian's feet are still positioned in front of Dolph's, I don't think his body is closer by enough to give him much advantage. The difference here looks around an inch, maybe 3 cm, but Florian's Nikes look at least an inch while Dolph's sneakers look a fraction less. I also thought the difference was closer to an inch and not much above in Creed 2.

Also, here's Dolph at that same recent event Ferrigno was at, except with 5'11" listed Mickey Rourke this time: Click Here We've seen Dolph's dress shoes, so here's what Mickey wore: Click Here Dolph might have a bit of an advantage over Mickey, but Mickey has that giant hat and looks to have a fraction thicker footwear so I'd still imagine at least 4" between them, though there's a good chance Mickey has shrunk 1/4" to 1/2" below 5'11". But Dolph also towered 5'8" Gina Carano by more than 6", possibly 6.5" at that same event: Click Here and that's with Gina wearing heels at that event: Click Here
Rising - 174 cm said on 10/Jan/19
@Pierre: No way Rapaport is under 6'2" and he doesn't look it with Wentworth since Wentworth is noticeably closer to the camera and still shorter. As for Florian, there's tons of comparisons and Dolph is only 2-3 cm shorter max. Nowhere near 2". That first full pic is barely 3 cm difference(Dolph's head is easily above Florian's hairline) and Florian is standing slightly in front if anything as you can see from their feet. That 2nd pic is only around a 2 cm difference. In fact, the top of Dolph's hair is about as tall as Florian's head, but Dolph has extra hair. The 3rd pic of them didn't work, but the 4th one also shows barely any an inch difference max.

Check out this Mens Health video with wide shots. Dolph has Converse, which are at least 1 cm less than Florian's Nikes yet Florian is still looking around 3 cm or so taller: Click Here When considering footwear, it's hard to see more than an inch difference: Click Here Click Here

Full pic from NY premiere showing barely any difference: Click Here And other pics at the premiere show just about an inch difference give or take so always between 2-3 cm: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Florian's shoes also look a fraction thicker than Dolph's loafers.

I doubt there's more than an inch between them barefoot, but it could be as much as 3 cm, though no more and possibly as little as 2 cm. So a 6'3.75" Florian would make current Dolph between 6'2.5"-6'3".

@Pierre: That isn't a good pic for judging because aside from Dolph's clearly bent knee(which definitely drops some height), Lou gets a clear camera advantage there(because we know his head isn't 11" long as it looks in that pic) and the low angle from the side is not a good one. This is the best pic because Dolph doesn't have a camera advantage in terms of being closer: Click Here Dolph looks 3 cm taller there. Even if it's tilted a little in Dolph's favor, he'd still be at least half an inch taller. Then Dolph is about half an inch taller here and isn't close enough to get a noticeable advantage since they both look to have 10" heads: Click Here The advantage here probably isn't that much either as their heads are again close in length: Click Here Dolph looks to just edge Lou, but again, Lou is up on one foot and Dolph is still clearly bending his knee. If Lou were as tall/taller than Dolph, you'd expect his chin to be at least as high or higher since Rob has met both and I don't think he estimated Lou's head any longer than Dolph's. Finally, you have this one where Dolph does have a clear advantage, but look how decisively taller he winds up: Click Here These are straighter angles taken in front. To me that's a lot of evidence Dolph is taller than Lou and at worst, I just can't see Dolph any shorter. Maybe 2013 Lou was at least as tall as 2016 Dolph, but I think Dolph was the more solid 6'4" guy at their peaks too.

This isn't a huge surprise because look at how Dolph looked with a man Rob lists at 6'2.5" recently: Click Here Yes, Dolph has better posture there, but probably a fraction thinner sneaker than Rapaport's New Balance and Rapaport is still clearly shorter even with his hat.
Pierre said on 8/Jan/19
@Rising=Yes Rising they are just pictures.I think in this pictures inwhich Lou is looking shorter than Dolph Lou slouch if not he wouldn't look as tall next to Dolph here= Click Here even if his head tilt and even if Dolph bent a little bit his knee (and even if Lou is standing this time a little bit closer to the camera)
Rising - 174 cm said on 7/Jan/19
@Pierre: Yes, Dolph does have a camera advantage in the full pic, but Lou is going up on one foot and like I said, Lou would have to have a bigger head than Dolph to be as tall/taller there so it's questionable he'd be as tall there without the camera disadvantage, much less taller. But that's just 1 pic. Dolph is taller in no less than 4 pics that night and especially that last one Sotiris posted where Dolph looks more than an inch taller and there's no obvious camera advantage. If it were one questionable pic, then I'd say it's less definitive, but it's 4.
Pierre said on 6/Jan/19
@Rising= Rising,i don't know with Lou's chin or his 10 inches head, in the last pic you posted the fact is Lou is standing clearly a little bit more distant to the camera so if one guy has an advantage with the camera here, it's Dolph. Both bent a knee but Lou is more in split (i want to say a biger gap between his heels) then logically Lou lose more heigth than Dolph, plus he tilt more his head than Dolph imo and finally break more his posture than Dolph
Rising - 174 cm said on 5/Jan/19
@Pierre: Come on. Lou is getting a clear advantage in that and Dolph is bending his knee. I removed much of the tilt in the other pics and the last pic Sotiris posted is not tilted much. Maybe slightly, but not even to make up more than an inch difference. I don't know if Dolph is taller in general these days, but Dolph is clearly taller than Lou at that event. Lou is also going up on his backfoot in the one pic. I don't know how much, but it was clear when Sotiris enlarged it. Actually, I may have tilted this one too much against Dolph and he's still taller: Click Here He does actually get an advantage in this one, but he's still taller, otherwise Lou would have to have an even bigger head than Dolph since his chin is again lower, plus he's up on his back foot as Sotiris showed and Dolph appears to be bending his knee again.
Pierre said on 4/Jan/19
@Rising=Lou is looking shorter than Dolph when Lou slouch, this is the case here = Click Here and even if Lou is tiptoeing a little bit on his right foot(i personnally don't see his foot even just a little bit on tiptoe ) his heels are more distant one to the other than Dolph's heels so...And Dolph is standing clearly closer to the camera in this pic.And plus the angle of the pic favor Dolph's height, the lines behind them are clearly inclined Click Here
Click Here = in this pic for me Lou slouch to try to be at maximum around the same height as the shorter guy next to him for the picture
Click Here = in this pic Lou is standing closer to the camera but not a lot and has not a big advantage imo in this angle. He's standing straighter than in the other pics and looks taller than Dolph for me .Dolph bent a little bit his knee here but does not lose height a lot,and i consider Lou tilt a little bit his head on the side of Dolph too.By all this pics and parameters i'm really not convinced Dolph is taller than Lou,i even think Lou is in reality one hair taller than Dolph

Rising - 174 cm said on 3/Jan/19
@Pierre: Now that time Lou not only has a real camera advantage(otherwise his head would be about 11") and the camera being low makes the person closer appear taller, but you can also see Dolph visibly bending his knee. The other pic is the same except now tilted a lot. The last pic I posted that Sotiris found pretty much seals it because Dolph is not closer to the camera and looks quite clearly taller by every way, even eye and chin. Now let me demonstrate why Dolph doesn't get much advantage in the other one: Click Here Lou's chin is lower and his head looks close in length to Dolph's as you can see. This seems believable as I can see Lou having a big head around 10" from his pics with Rob. Same in this other pic Sotiris posted, which is the best one and also shows Dolph more decisively taller: Click Here I didn't even expect current Dolph to be taller than current Lou, but looking at this event, Dolph seems clearly taller there in no less than 4 pics, which also happen to be the best pics and Sotiris clearly showed Lou going up on his back foot in the group pic and his shoes might be a fraction thicker. Lou may have lost another fraction since Rob last saw him 4 years ago while it doesn't appear Dolph has since Dolph sometimes stands better now than he did 2-3 years ago.

Kind of funny how Dolph was paired with 5'6" Brian Benben in Dark Angel/I Come in Peace. Despite often using the camera to minimize the difference for framing, there were plenty of scenes where you could see a full head difference: Click Here Click Here Click Here For instance, the camera favors Benben in the first 2 shots and there are some scenes where they're walking and it can seem even bigger, but if you consider a 10.25" head for Dolph then Dolph and Brian's listings add up perfectly.
Rising - 174 cm said on 2/Jan/19
If Dolph were at a big advantage then his head would look bigger than it does because Dolph has a very large head to begin with(over 10"). The advantage can't be much, if there is one, in the pic of just the two posing and again, you have other pics like this: Click Here and this last one(thanks to Sotiris for finding it) Click Here Current Dolph reaches noticeably higher on Suotamo's head than Driver. Rob, i do understand that you are a honest person, i appreciate it and the effort you have put on this site throughout all these years. But imho the way you list yourself is in contradiction with your own principle of objectivity; this is excessive humbleness. You must be as fair to yourself as you are to others! When in your eyes there's not enough proof, you often give celebs on this site the highest realistic figure they could hope for...you should either apply this logic to yourself or adjust overly optimistic listings on this site...
At the end of the day one could say that it doesn't matter since this site is not specifically about you but about the height of celebrities, and i would argue with this; you are actually slighly misleading people that are trying to guess celebs you've taken a photo with, since their guesses could be at least 1/8' off, if not the whole half a cm.
IMO it's insane that when there weren't yet "eights" on this site you used to list yourself as a flat 5'8, instead of 5'8.25, considering the fact that probably at your normal lunch time you are at least 173.3...

After all, even your old stadiometer was probably hinting you something, with its 2 mm bonus! It wanted you to stop from downgrading yourself!
Editor Rob
I do go with 173cm as my height, generally on active days I will be in that zone of 173-173.2 by lunch and don't vary much beyond that.

I understand that I could call myself 5ft 8.25 too. I think many of the visitors would be thinking of me as a fraction over 5ft 8, even though I write 5ft 8 underneath the description.

Myself said on 30/Dec/18
@Rob
I think a measurement done with the head tilted upwards the same way you did in that video linked by Rising should be considered valid, as long as you don't tilt more than that.
So Rob you are probably not only 173.3 at your usual low, but you should also add those 2 mm since it's a tolerable measurement (i bet a lot of CH users and people in general tilt their head like that, not everybody gains millimiters though). You are 173.3-5 in reality imo.
I don't understand why you list yourself as 173.0 on this site, considering celebs here are listed at a lunch time height. You reach 173 cm only much later in the day, and that's probably without the slight head tilting that i would consider legit.

Anyway, Happy new year, good luck and keep the good work with this site!

Trying to keep the head level I feel is fair, I will stick to 173 though.

Very interesting read on Dolph Lundgren here.
Looking at the pics, if Robs' friend is 6'2" then Dolph is certainly 6'3"
Infact most pics I see of him now, 6'3" automatically springs to mind.
Now going back to Rocky IV, we have to bare in mind the possibility of lifts, the box he stood on in certain scenes, and something I'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet, his hairstyle, which I just happen to be sporting lol.
His hair against Apollo would've given him am extra 0.5inch, and later against Rocky, we see his hair is a little longer, so a good inch at least on top his head.
Finish that off with clever camera angles, and you've got yourself a 6'6" Ivan Drago.
However I think in real life, he was about 6'4"
So only a loss of one inch.

@Pierre: I post them in response and obviously if you repeat the same things then I'll post similar rebuttals. The one still I took just as he made the fist he was not even standing that straight, but yes, I compare them when Dolph is standing straight because the question is how tall he is standing straight. I've posted stills of Colbert straight as an arrow too. First it was about head tilting, but since I showed that in itself doesn't make a big difference and included both tilting their head, now you're suggesting Dolph is standing too straight? You're implying Colbert is dropping about 2 cm compared to Dolph and that's just not realistic. If that were so, how much would Dolph be dropping in photos like with Rob or with Roland for that matter? But aside from that, I find this post of yours more reasonable. 6'2" is understandable guess nowadays, though he looks at least 6'2.5" to me when he stands straight. I wouldn't go much below 6'3.75" for Momoa myself, but I agree Roland is probably a full 6'4".

There's some decent pics from the recent Aquaman premiere in LA. Full pic of Dolph and Jason Momoa: Click Here In this case, Momoa is closer to the camera, but I still don't see more than an inch: Click Here It can look 1.5" or 4 cm at that event only when Momoa's camera advantage is more clear and Dolph is dropping some height in his lower body and by leaning in a bit: Click Here Actually, Dolph appears to be bending his knee in the first pic as well, but I'm going to assume they're standing similarly. I wouldn't have been surprised if the difference had been a bit bigger, but really I think there's either an inch between them nowadays as Patrick Wilson said or 3 cm max. It's very similar to how Dolph looks with Florian

Btw, here's one more Alan Light comparison, this time using 5'11" listed Jerry Seinfeld since Seinfeld is standing in front of Light and standing straight so this is a more than fair comparison: Click Here Seinfeld is a minimum 5.5" shorter in comparison even disregarding posture. Light looks about 5'10" compared to Seinfeld's listed height if he's not a disadvantage, but even if you gave Seinfeld more 5'10.5" peak as some think, Dolph still looks at least 6'4". It's really impossible to argue Dolph looked any less than 6'4" with Light and this comparison to Seinfeld is consistent with how Dolph looked with 5'11" peak(5'10.5" today) Cary Tagawa and 5'11" range Brandon Lee in the 90's.

@Pierre: Dolph is not standing straight in that still you've posted about 10 times now. That's just factually incorrect. You can clearly see that on the video. It also happens that Stephen is stretched up to his full height at that part and you compare to Dolph dropping noticeable height. In fact, I even took a still a fraction of a second before to prove that point. I don't know what "exaggerated" posture means. Either you're standing straight or you're not. Dolph naturally doesn't stand close to his measured height nowadays like someone like Colbert does. I already told you that I didn't post the part where Dolph looked tallest. I posted one like that once just to prove a point so my comparisons have been more than fair. You destroyed your whole argument by bringing up Obama since Obama doesn't even look 3" taller than Colbert in any of them.
Pierre said on 18/Dec/18
@Rising = You can continue to post all the comparisons with Dolph isn a military posture and in an exagerate angle of the head and i will never agree with you.In my comparison Dolph is perfectly straight and around the same posture as Stephen in your comparison he's standing in an exagerate posture with the head in an exagerate angle. In the other pics you posted he just start to abandon his exagerate posture, then i can not see a good comparison here too.
Rising - 174 cm said on 17/Dec/18
@Pierre: That's ridiculous, they are NOT in the same posture. Anyone who watches the video can clearly see this. Did you completely ignore Rob's video? You're still cherrypicking a moment when Dolph visibly dropped height and Colbert is standing perfectly and reposting that one still?

This is the actual difference when both stand tall: Click Here Click Here Click Here Notice Colbert is tilting his head up too in the first and 3rd photos yet he's still 4"-4.5" shorter and this is one taken a fraction of a second before your cherrypicked one except Dolph hasn't dropped enough height yet for your liking: Click Here Notice Colbert is standing straighter, tilting his head up more and yet he's still about 4" shorter.

And no, Obama is nowhere near as tall with Colbert as Dolph: Click Here Click Here Click Here In fact, Obama is about 5 cm shorter next to Colbert or a bare minimum 4 cm.

@Rob: Yeah, Dolph's head will probably lead to a slightly different result, but still a negligible amount when we're talking millimeters. Btw, those videos are really great for answering various questions about height.
Pierre said on 16/Dec/18

Of course if Barack's head was looking the clouds like Dolph's head here Click Here = Stephen's eyes would be the same height as Barack's chin too....
Pierre said on 16/Dec/18
@Rising=...If my memory is good,we talk about the angle of Dolph's head because = when Dolph is not in this posture with the head looking the clouds, then we can make good comparisons with Barack= in a classic angle of head the fact is Dolph's mouth is around the same height as Stephen's eyes and then he looks around the same height as barack next to Stephen...as i wrote in my comment 28 nov Dolph is probably a little bit taller because longer head, for the rest Dolph's long hair make the difference
Peter 179cm said on 15/Dec/18
From the added height chart,it looks like he'd hit 6'2 flat if stood straight, accounting for footwear.I think a fraction over 6'2 is the fairest guess so a weak 189cm.He has a big head afterall,so it makes this all the more frustrating..
Rising - 174 cm said on 14/Dec/18
So, "looking at the clouds" adds a whopping 2 millimeters to your height: Click Here That's if you have a 9.5" head like Rob. Maybe it's slightly more if you have a 10"+ head, but we're talking millimeters here.
Editor Rob
It could depend on the curvature of your skull, but mostly it won't have that much effect...around a couple of mm from when I last tested it.

@Pierre: Evidently you need them because you missed the point again. I posted that to show Jon was still several inches taller even while at a clear disadvantage, there's a big difference between that and posting with the other guy at a disadvantage without mentioning that as an attempt to prove he's shorter. That's just common sense and posters usually don't have trouble with this distinction. There's a better pic on shutterstock I'm having a trouble linking to where Jon is still at a disadvantage, but is looking like he's going to be 4"+ taller than Stacy. But we can forget about Stacy if you like because this isn't leading us anywhere and is just going to get this way off topic of Dolph.

Rising - 174 cm said on 9/Dec/18
@Pierre: There's not one thing in that post that's true. I was arguing Dolph was more like 6'4" flat at least as far back as 2011 and have said many times he was never 6'5". That's not the first time you've made something up and misquoted me either. I don't post photos with one person standing a foot closer to the camera than the other. I guess Colbert was also "looking at the clouds" in the first still I posted. Note I say first, because I posted 4 or 5 different ones and the entire video rather than cherrypicking one to mislead people. LOL so now an 80 year old Jon Voight wears elevator shoes? Of course there's no other reason height can vary in photos. I thought being conservative and giving Voight at least his current listing 10 years ago would avoid this, not wind up getting so far off topic with Keach, Travolta, Cage etc., none of whom have even been pictured with Dolph.
P?erre said on 9/Dec/18
@Rising lol my pics are not more dodgy than your pics with Dolph in perfect military posture with his head looking the clouds lol!!!!Dolph is 6"5' if you want, this is not a problem for me
Rising - 174 cm said on 8/Dec/18
@Pierre: What was the point of posting all those dodgy photos? First of all, I posted Voight with BOTH Cage and Travolta so unless you're arguing BOTH are nowhere near 6' then Voight was still at least 6'1.5" a decade ago. And Sizemore is WAY closer to the camera in that premiere photo. That photo of Stacy Keach is current, not 10 years ago since Caitlin Jenner was still Bruce 10 years ago. We know how tall Stacy Heach was a decade ago because Rob met and took a photo with him. The man is in his late 70's now so it's not surprising he's shrunk a lot more. If you had such good evidence then you could show Rob and he'd downgrade them at least somewhat. I posted more than enough evidence of Voight the same year or around the same time with Goldblum, Cage, Travolta, Keach and Haysbert to reasonably establish his height as 6'1.5" minimum around 2008. And Dolph and Roland are NOT in the same posture. This is unbelievable considering your dismissal of Dolph with Colbert. And 2", maybe 2.25" tops is NOT towering. If Dolph straightened his back and raised his head, it'd be less than 2" and there's a good chance Dolph's legs aren't straight. You reposting a photo over and over and over is unnecessary. By your logic about head-tilting, Dolph is losing a good inch or more with his head down compared to Roland's head up, but I see that only applies when you have to explain away Dolph looking 6'2.5"+. Btw, I don't believe that about head-tilting, but that was what you were implying before.

@Rampage: They did make Dolph look even bigger in Rocky 4 since Dolph admitted wearing lifts for some seasons and even standing on a box, which I figured had to be the case otherwise Dolph would be 6'7" in a shot like this! Click Here In reality, he was a legit 6'4" and a shredded 240-245 while filming. As Stallone said, Dolph/Drago was what he imagined men looking like 500 years from now so once Dolph got the role, he decided to emphasize Dolph's size. Dolph still looks massive in Masters of the Universe, Red Scorpion, Showdown in Little Tokyo, Cover Up, The Punisher etc., but at least closer to his real height than Rocky 4.

Not saying height loss is a positive thing because it’s not and Dolph is still a very big man who I wouldnt dare mess with

But in Creed 2 Drago is meant to be a broken man and a shell of former himself. Dolph’s somewhat diminished stature naturally fits into the aesthetic of who Drago is in 2018 as opposed to 1986. Now I don’t know if maybe they did do some camera work in Rocky IV to make him even bigger but in the new movie he really is a far cry from that

@Pierre: Nonsense. First of all, Rob said Tom still looked about 5'10" when they took the photo. He lists him 5'9.5" because he thinks he's lost more height since. Tom is standing clearly in front of Jon there giving him an advantage. Rob doesn't base his listings on one photo. Here's Jon in 2010(two years after the photo with Dolph) with Stacy Keach(whom Rob estimated at 5'10.5" in 2007) and even with Stacy much closer to the camera and wearing a hat, Jon is still much taller: Click Here Here's Jon in 2007 looking at least 1.5" taller than 6'0" Nicolas Cage: Click Here and at least 2" taller than 6'0" John Travolta in 2006: Click Here and here's Jon again in 2010 standing further from the camera than 6'4"-6'4.5" Dennis Haysbert: Click Here Jon only looks 3" shorter even with the camera disadvantage. 6'1.5" is the absolute minimum for Jon in 2008.

Dolph leaning noticeably in 2008 with Jon Voight: Click Here Dolph is still a couple of inches taller. Voight is listed 6'2.5" peak and 6'1.5" currently, but many would say he was still around 6'2" a decade ago. Here's Voight that same year with Jeff Goldblum back when Goldblum was still 6'4": Click Here and also that same year with 6'0" listed Edward Norton: Click Here Certainly, Voight was not less than the 6'1.5" figure in 2008. Dolph had already lost height by 2008, but he's probably lost most of his height since then. He could still look quite tall in 2008 despite worsening posture.

Rising - 174 cm said on 4/Dec/18
@Pierre: That's completely ridiculous. You cherrypicking a split second where Dolph visibly dropped height is not "classic posture" and even in that cherrypicked example, Dolph was STILL 2-3 cm taller with Colbert. Obama almost always has very good posture, unlike Dolph. But when Dolph actually stood straight -- which is his actual height -- he was consistently 4-5 cm taller with Colbert than Obama. And Dolph is not "towered" by Roland. He's about 2" shorter, but he's clearly not standing as straight. You even admitted at one point that Dolph was dropping more height. The problem is, we don't know just how much height because we can't see enough of their legs. And as long as we're reposting things, here's Dolph with 6'2.5" listed Michael Rapaport a few weeks ago: Click Here and by your standards, Dolph "towered" Michael back in 1995: Click Here He also "towered" 6'2.5" listed Brion James in Red Scorpion as I showed in the clip, 6'2" listed Jon Cypher in Masters of the Universe and 6'3" listed Louis Gossett Jr.

@Pierre: You reposting a still from a split second where Dolph visibly drops height does not change the fact Dolph had a good 4", sometimes even 4.5" on Colbert for most of the video. viper saw the same thing and he doesn't even agree with me on Dolph in general. Here's another still, I literally took it just before the one you posted, you can see Dolph has already made the fist and is about to touch his hands, but hasn't dropped much height yet: Click Here He's still around 4" taller there. I could only imagine what you'd have said if I used an image of Colbert tilting his head with his hands in his pockets. Dolph is well over an inch taller than Obama compared to Colbert. Here's another still of Colbert straight as an arrow: Click Here The only difference is Dolph raising his head, but that doesn't add an inch. I know this because Rob has measured himself while tilting his head up or down and the difference a few millimeters or a small fraction. Besides, the original still I used had Colbert tilting his head up as well, but I'll use the new one and that other photo(which favors Obama) and Dolph still comes out 4 cm taller compared to Colbert: Click Here

Ok, now I used a photo where Obama actually does have a camera advantage over Colbert making this comparison slanted against Dolph if anything and Dolph is still almost 2" taller than Obama: Click Here Just to be completely clear about what I'm doing is I scale the references up or down until they match and I scale the rest of the photo along with them keeping the difference between each subject and the reference unchanged in their respective photo and then line the references(Colbert in this case) up to match. If one subject is closer to the camera in the original photo then that will remain as much of a problem in the comparison as in the original, but in general it's a useful visual guide for showing how two measured up to the same reference. It's easier when both are right in front of your eyes then posting one after the other.

@Jordan: Which comparison? The Alan Light one to Danson and Letterman? Yes as I said before, as big as Dolph's head really is, I think he is getting an advantage over Danson and Letterman, but counting Letterman's hat should make up most of that and you can always compare their eye levels, which still show Dolph a good 6'4" in comparison. I can't scale them up/down further without knowing how big Letterman and Danson's heads are, but I do know Vegas once did a comparison between Dolph and Letterman compared to Light and had Dolph about 4" taller in those photos. Obviously, Dolph was not actually 4" taller than Letterman, but Vegas and JT do most of those type of comparisons and they got a similar result in that case. But I can use the Rob Lowe pic to compare: Click Here As you can see, Dolph still looks about 6'4" and Dolph has a bit of a slouch while Lowe does not. In this case, this would fit with Lowe having a 9.5" head and his head is bigger than Light's in the photo so if anything he'd have the advantage. There's a margin of error with the possibility Lowe is not a full 5'10" balancing out Dolph's slouch. The reason I didn't post that comparison to begin with is we have actual photos of Dolph looking 6'4"+ with average height guys(Charlie Sheen) or others below 6'(Brandon Lee) so I didn't see much point. If you mean the Obama one then no as I already explained. Their head size actually looks slightly larger than it probably should compared to Dolph, but I can do another one soon.

@Canson: I would put Frank around 6'4", maybe even a fraction under or possibly 1-2 mm over. This is because he looks anywhere from 1-2 cm shorter than 6'4.5" measured Tim Hardaway: Click Here Click Here You can also compare to Porzingis in the second photo. Frank is a full head smaller while Hardaway is slightly less. In fact, Hardaway's measurement and Porzingis' measurement lineup almost perfectly there, but not here where Hardaway himself is more than a head shorter! Click Here Granted, Hardaway's 6'4.5" matches up pretty much perfectly with Kevin Knox at 6'7.75", but both can look about an inch shorter than their measurements there compared to Porzingis at 7'1.25" and Knox also can in this pic: Click Here But that's not so uncommon as I've seen Shaq, Kareem, Gasol and other big men make guards and forwards look an inch or two shorter than they are. But in short, I wouldn't go as high as 194 for Frank. Maybe 193. 193.5 would be the highest and 192.5 about the lowest I'd go. Frank was claiming he thought he grew and others picked up on that, but it sure doesn't look like he did compared to Porzingis and Hardaway.
Canson said on 23/Nov/18
@Rising; agreed. And I actually thought at first that he was measured 7’1.75 (not sure where I got it from). Chances are he may not have been at the combine itself either and could have measured later like Frank Ntilikina did. Btw how tall do you think he is? I would put Frank at around 194 perhaps
Rising - 174 cm said on 23/Nov/18
@Duhon: Good pic. Honestly, Florian looks taller than I'd expect. If Jordan is 5'10.5" as listed then he looks about 6'4" there. Not saying he is or isn't, but I didn't expect that big of a difference.

@Pierre: With all due respect, I'm not the one inventing things about tip-toeing which anyone with eyes can see is not the case. The pic I used for a comparison shows BOTH men standing straight and tilting their head up a bit. If Dolph did it slightly more or forced his posture more then we're literally talking something like 1/4" difference. And the angle I used was taken from above them or level, not low so once again, I have no idea what you're talking about. It looks like 4"+ for most of the video. You cherrypicking a split second when Dolph visibly drops his posture(and is still over 3" taller) just proves this point. It's honestly absurd to suggest they have the "same" posture for that split second, especially since Stephen didn't do the "crush" thing. That also suggests Stephen was dropping over an inch in posture for the entire rest of the staredown, which is frankly laughable. If that were the case, then I can only imagine how many inches Dolph regularly drops in posture. I don't want to get into speculation about motives, but if anything it seems you made up your mind about Dolph's height based on how he looked slouching and now that he finally stood tall, you seem unwilling to reconsider. And it's not just with Colbert, Dolph looked clearly taller than 6'2.5" listed Michael Rapaport recently as well. And it's laughable to suggest I of all posters choose bad angles. I doubt too many other posters check to see if the subjects' heads are in proportion. Again, you can see Stephen looking up to Dolph himself and tilting his head up from his chin in the comparison photo I used. Dolph has his head up there and is standing straight, but he's not craning his neck unusually there himself.

Dolph/Obama comparison photo with Colbert: Click Here Dolph comes out about 2" taller than Obama. That Obama photo was easiest to lineup since it was also taken from the side, but it'd make a minimal difference since the height difference between Obama and Colbert doesn't vary much. I may use several of the others just to prove that point, but it can take up to 10 minutes to make a decent comparison photo so I'm in no rush to do so. I'm just going to ignore that ironic comment about me picking photos with bad angles @Juby: Agreed. Here's how peak Dolph measured up to the same man as 6'2.5" Ted Danson and 6'1.5" Letterman: Click Here I counted Letterman's hat and may have even counted a bit of Danson's hair(toupee) as his head so if you deduct about 1/2" for Letterman's hat then he's about 4.5" shorter than Dolph and Danson is coming out about 2.5" shorter, but he may be at a bit of a camera disadvantage and some might argue Danson and Letterman are 1/2" shorter than listed. Granted, Dolph could give a 6'4" flat impression at times in Pentathlon and I think that or Rob's listing is fine for his peak, but he often looked 6'4.5"-6'5" in films from the late 80's/early 90's, particularly when he wore boots. Here's some good footage of Dolph in 2007 with Oleg Taktarov(whom Rob lists 6'0"): Click Here Dolph looks a good 4" taller, though I have a hard time believing Dolph hadn't lost anything 1 month before his 50th birthday so it's possible Oleg was more 181 cm and Dolph 192 by then.

@Canson: I wouldn't go below his measurement myself seeing him with Melo in the full media day photos. Melo struggles to reach his mouth. He's actually taller than I thought at a legit 7'1" even as a Knick fan. As of now, I don't believe either measured in the morning, but I can't say how close to his low he was because of his height. Sort of like our Shaq conversation.

Rising - 174 cm said on 20/Nov/18
@Pierre: No, they're not in the same posture there because Dolph specifically loosened his posture to make the fist and do the "crush" thing for a split second. Stephen did not do that motion, therefore they can't be in the same posture. lol when you get measured, you don't relax your back and make a fist. And if anything, I put the line too low in the second pic. With that said, Dolph is STILL taller as he's more than 3" taller even with loose posture, while Obama never was, even though Obama had a camera advantage at times. The angle for that crush part is basically the same as the rest. Dolph has at least 4" on Stephen for almost the entire staredown. It seems you're waiting for the one split second where Dolph looks shortest in the video. I didn't post the part where he looked tallest, that would be more like this: Click Here Actually, if anything, Stephen has the camera advantage there too. Btw, raising your eye level doesn't change your measured height much at all. Here Stephen is raising his eye level more and doesn't look any taller, it's still at least 4": Click Here

Interestingly, Dolph repeated that he was on a box in a couple of scenes for Rocky 4, but also added that he wore lifts for some scenes: Click Here

'Rocky IV is peak Rocky in terms of the character's training and physicality, and Stallone urged Lundgren to be as imposing as possible when it came Rocky's turn to face Drago.

"He wasn't against me getting bigger and stronger, and I would wear lifts in some of the scenes to make me even taller. I also stood on a box for a couple of shots, depending on where the camera was," says Lundgren.'

I always wondered if they had Dolph in lifts. Funny cause Sly wore lifts in the ring too for that film. Carl Weathers was probably the one who didn't lol. Sort of reminds me of the Godfather anecdote about Brando wearing lifts after he found out Pacino and Caan were.

@Duhon: his 7’3” claim is just his listed height. Shoes rounded up

@Rising: I don’t know why but i always thought he was 7’1.75 at the combine. With that likely being a morning height, he may only be more like 7’0.75.

@Viper: I’d say give or take. I don’t think Melo is under 6’6” but KP may dip under 7’1” unless he grew or measured later in the day than the others did

This Men's Health video with Florian is pretty good for comparing: Click Here Looks about an inch shorter overall to me in the video, maybe 3 cm. Sometimes it can look as little as 2 cm max and as much as 3.5-4 cm in the video, but Dolph's Converse give at least 1 cm less than Florian's Nikes. My guess from what I've seen so far is that Dolph barefoot would be around 2 cm shorter than Florian. Possibly an inch, but I'm not so sure after that video. I have no doubt peak Dolph was taller than Florian. It's weird, Dolph's posture seems improved in general lately, but then he reverts back to what Canson so aptly called his abysmal posture such as here with Michael B. Jordan: Click Here lol leaning noticeably AND bending his knee while possibly dropping height in his hips too. He still has a few inches on Jordan, who is listed the same as Colbert. As for Porzingis stating he's 7'3" vs 7'1", well there are some 6' guys who are convinced they are really 6'2", so I can see it being easy to assume you're a couple inches taller than reality when you do really tower over 99.999% of the population around you.

@Pierre: I used a pic you posted to compare them and come on, Dolph is NOT tip-toeing. I posted that full shot to eliminate any doubt of that. Here's one more to prove that again: Click Here Dolph is raising his eye level a bit in the still I posted, but so is Stephen to some degree. And I'm not comparing them based on where Stephen reaches on Dolph(otherwise he'd be 5" shorter in the still I posted rather than 4"-4.5" range which is what I get when I compare the distance between their heads relative to Dolph's head. The camera was a good height and their heads look in proportion since Colbert's head would be near 9.5" compared to a 10.25" head for Dolph. Btw, Rob estimated Obama's head in the normal 9.25"-9.5" range so there's zero chance Obama is as tall with Stephen as Dolph is.

But just to cover everything, here's the other three photos you posted: Click Here Obama doesn't have a full 3" on Stephen in any of them and is raising his eye level himself in the last one, which is the only one I'm fairly certain Obama doesn't have a camera advantage himself in while Obama almost certainly has one in the second photo. Obama looks to have roughly 2.5" on Stephen in these 3 photos, sometimes a bit more and sometimes a bit less, but it's definitely more than 2" and less than 3".

Beside Rob he looks a solid 6"1,5. His peak was perhaps between 6"3 - 6"4
