Rob, could we give him 6ft1 peak?
Today he still looks a very strong 6ft
I'd need to check him out in 80's again.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 9/Apr/18
berta, he may well have been 6ft1 in his prime. Looked 2in taller than John Ritter on Three's Company.
Still looks a strong 6ft now.

this guy looked no less than 6 foot 1 peak. he still looks 183,5-184 range today at 73. i say 185-185,5 peak 183,5 today

He gives me a 6'1 impression

Well Dean Jones is listed in places at 6'0" and he and Jeffrey were the same height.

Rob, also in Meet Joe Black and The Hangover movies

Rob, could he have maybe brushed the 6ft1 mark in his 20's?
Saw him on Three's Company and he could appear near 2in taller than John Ritter (solid 5ft11, possibly 5ft11¼). But if he's still a fraction over 6ft at 70 I think it could be very possible.

Exactly! And some insist that Fallon is 6ft

Still a strong 6ft, I reckon
Editor Rob: he's probably got half inch less shoes as well there!

He stood back to back with Jimmy Fallon on the show not that long ago and came out slightly taller. So, I wouldn't argue below 6ft...

Hey, it's Sam back after a brief hiatus, could you add The Larry Sanders Show and Transparent to his credits?

On his several appearances on "Three's Company", he is slightly taller than 5'11" John Ritter. Based solely on this, I would estimate his height at 5'11.75".
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 26/Jan/15
185cm peak, Rob?
Sam said on 12/Jan/15
He's 70 like he said on the Golden Globes though, I think he's lost a bit of height. Could be a weak six foot now (maybe as low as 5'11.5"), maybe 6'0.5"-6'0.75" at peak.

I saw him onstage in Glengarry Glen Ross. He could have passed for 6'1" though the listing is alright. He was a solid inch or so shorter than Liev Schreiber (by a slight margin, the tallest looking cast member), Alan Alda (when he straightened up) and Frederick Weller and seemed to be taller for sure than Tom Wopat and several inches over Gordon Clapp.

He looked 5'11 next to scott mechlowicz in eurotrip...either Jeffrey is 5'11 or Jeffrey is 6'1 and Scott is 6'2"

"Peak height was 6ft 1in (185cm)"

Think he has a 5'11.5 look to him now

I think he was like 6'1-6'2 on Larry Sanders, he looked pretty tall in comparison to most of the actors on that show.

from what i remember he had a couple of inches on Shandling on Larry Sanders, so around 6 ft sounds bout right (remember when vince vaughan was on there, he made them look slightly dwarfish in comparison). one of the best tv shows of all time, btw...

He was probably about 6'1" in his prime.

6ft1.25 was possibly his peak. Now around 6ft1 flat.
Hugh said on 15/Sep/08
In Glengarry Glenross he looked close to 6ft2. He towered over Alec Baldwin.
Hugh said on 26/Aug/08
Bleemo 182-183cm is impossible for this guy. I beleive he was 186cm at his peak and is now 184-185cm today. Just under 6ft1. Still tall.
Kid-Icarus said on 21/May/08
Since he was like 60 at the time of Arrested Development, I am going to say he was 6'1" at peak but 6'0 1/2" today.
thekiddd said on 18/Aug/07
Assuming his shoes are 1", He is almost 6'1" His head touches 6'1 1/2" which would make him an inch shorter roughly if he is wearing shoes that are 1". I would say 6'0 1/2" is close to the truth. Wouldn't go any lower than 6'0 1/4 though.

Nah not 6'1", doesn't quite make 6'1" in shoes in this lineup;
and looks a solid 4 inches shorter then 6'4" John lithgow who may be 1 cm under that height in fact;
He's certainly tallish and not far off the 6'1" mark but I'd peg him at 182cm-183cm by those pics.
[Editor Rob: 1/2 an inch loss by 62 could be possible.]

Tony Hale looks 6'1" to me. This guy claims to be 6'2" but I think 6'1 is perfect. I saw a picture of him next to John Lithgow and he looks exactaly 3 inches shorter than him.

Vince Vaughan was on a Larry Sanders episode once and grabbed hold of Tambor. Vaughan was clearly taller but the difference was 3-4 inches. Tambor did not look dwarfed next to 6'5'' Vaughan.
T-Bone said on 21/May/06
I've seen him in " Arrested Development" Standing eye to eye with Tony Hale who is supposidly 6'1"(aka Buster Bluth in the show) He is an authentic 6'1".
sam said on 19/Aug/05
I saw him in Glengarry Glen Ross. I would have guessed his height 6'1"-6'2". He was slightly shorter than 6'2" Alan Alda (when he strengthened up), 6'2" Fred Weller, or 6'2 1/2"-6'3" Liev Schreiber.

Found this quote from an extra called John Bobby (on his page he states he is 5ft 9) "I've always heard that generally movie and TV stars are pretty short. I found this to be true on my 6th day, when I was standing next to Jeffery Tambor at the Kraft Services line; and I was shocked to see he wasn't much taller than me; he's around 6 foot. From watching him on one of my all-time favorites: The Larry Sanders Show, I would have sworn he was taller."
