Seen JBL and Test in the flesh...both looked around 6ft5. If I had to place a bet on who’d measure taller I might give JBL the edge...Test was far more jacked though...JBL had a dad bod and wasn’t really in good shape, wasn’t imposing at all

Unfortunately, unless it was a Combine measurement, Football listings can be very wrong too.

He was probably one of the few guys in Pro Wrestling to be billed at his legit or near his legit height, rather than adding 2" on top of it. Then again he was called 6'7" and 6'8" a lot in the 90's.

I'd say peak he was 6'6". Today he still has a great posture and towers over most people. 6'5.5" I would say today, but not 6'5" flat.

are you troll? have i ever said taker is 6.its better if you think before you speak and post something.i was saying the guy was saying gonzalez was only 7 feet given that he looks almost a feet taller than taker .gonzalez being 7 would place taker around 6 which is impossible as he looks foot taller than undertaker.get this
wrestlingfan186 said on 20/Jan/20
At he’s peak he was never under 196 cm he has always looked very tall, very similar height to late wrestler Test, anyway today he seems 193 - 194 cm

@edwards are you dumb how can undertaker be 6’0” he’s 6’7” right now and giant Gonzalez is 7’7”

how can peak taker be 6'7.75-6'8 and jiant gonzalez only 7'0 when there was easily foot difference.if gonzalez was only 7'0 then taker should be 6'0 that makes no sense honestly.

he was a foot taller than undertaker.if he was 7'0 feet than taker obviously should me 6'0 feet can he say that peak taker was 6'8-6'8.5 and say gonzalez is 7'0 when there was easily 1 foot difference between them lol

JBL was a 6'5 guy who in cowboy boots could look a 6'6 guy, he could certainly push Undertaker close in them, outside of the big footwear Taker had a solid 2' on him (prime).

Today he could be 6'4.5, but he's still a very big guy.

Tbh he wasn't even "overbilled". He was probably a solid 6'5" and little more and just got rounded up to 6'6".
Double G said on 3/Feb/19
@Zampo I agree Simmons' height to be 6'0.5" or so, maybe 6'0.75" at his prime, that is to say 1.84-1.85cm, while Bradshaw was 1.95-1.96cm. So there was a 10-12cm difference between the two of them in my estimation, as the APA.

@Sotiris First of all, there is a huge difference in height between Ron Simmons and Giant Gonzalez in that pic. Simmons seems a solid 6 footer, while Gonzalez is probably a bit over 7 foot, but probably he was 7 foot tall, more or less.

Second of all, Undertaker was in his prime 6'7.5"-6'7.75" in my estimation, but now he looks 6'6.5"-6'6.75", even 6'6" for him now is probably reasonable, but not as low as 6'5" in my opinion. In 2004-2005, Taker was easily a 6'7" looking person, so with that in mind, I think the height difference between JBL and Taker was at least 2 inches, max. 2 inches and half an inch. JBL adopted a tendency of indulgence towards standing in a bad posture, something that he wasn't doing at all as Bradshaw, so I assume that bad posture of his back didn't made JBL's height any favour. But Undertaker did as well in some point in time, he used to be in a bad posture too. That may explain why wrestlers seem to be shorter now that when he were on their prime. I agree JBL's height now must be a bit over 6'4", in my personal guess.

Zampo said on 28/Nov/18
@Sotiris Gravas: If JBL is 6'5 flat, Ron Simmons has to be near 6'2 (based on the photo) and from what I've seen of Ron Simmons, I can't believe that he would measure almost 6'2. If that is the case then the Rock has a serious case for measuring near 6'4 in his prime.

Personally, I think there is roughly around a 3.5 inch difference between Ron Simmons and JBL (not just based on that photo). I genuinely feel JBL was in the 6'4.5 - 6'4.75 range in his prime. Anyone in this range could pull off looking 6'5.

@Double G:

I struggle to see farooq much over 6'1 personally. I see a big 2 inches (2.25, at worst a 2 inches) difference between The Rock and him during the 90s. I think the Rock was around 6'2.75-6'3 range, so that would put Farooq at 6'0.5-6'0.75 range. I think he was billed at 6'2 by the WWE. I can buy a 10 cm difference though between Bradshaw and Farooq.

On a side note. In retrospect, Farooq's Nation of Domination gimmick was an absolute masterclass. Fit him to a tee.
Double G said on 6/Nov/18
In my opinion, Faarooq looked 1,86-87cm to me, while my guess for Bradshaw is around the 1,96-97cm mark. Anyway, as time goes by they both look shorter nowadays. JBL looks around 1,94-95 now, and Simmons around 1,84 or so. That's my guess.
Zampo said on 23/Oct/18

I believe Ron Simmons was listed at 6'1 by the USFL. The Rock looked a solid 2 inches taller though so it is likely he was in the weaker 6'1 category. I think Bradshaw (John Layfield) looked about 3.5 inches taller. So as a starting point I would say a solid 6'4.5. Undertaker (prime) seemed around 2.5 inches taller so if you believe Rob's listing, then that would put John at 6'5 although taker may have been nearer 6'7 flat, who knows. I would put John at 6'4.75 range prime personally or at least that is how I feel he would come across whether there is some height he could gain if standing for a measurement is another story.

I guess his lame physique and non grappling moves made him not appear like a big guy in WWE, even though he was above average. Average Billed height of wrestlers in WWE is 191cm, if thats the case then even 191cm barefeet legit is considered tall in WWE which often gets billed at 6'4/5

Intresting. I'm thinking of going to a wrestling event myself soon. Maybe February 26 Raw at Anaheim CA (since I live near LA) with front row seat ticket of course since I want to see how tall some of the wrestlers are in person.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 31/Jan/18
Christian, he walked right past me on the way to the ring, the ground was definitely even. This was in 2007 so possibly by now he has lost a fraction. With wrestling shows I've tried as subtly as possible to size the wrestlers up so I took note of the ground level. I mentioned that I saw Test on a separate occasion (about a year later at a TNA event). This was before the show (we got backstage passes) and he gave a similar impression. Both were just a little bit taller than me...I might just give JBL the edge though. But I didn't at all feel intimidated by him physically...he wasn't in good....while Test showed clear signs that he wasn't long for this world as sad as it is to say...

He does look every bit a 6'5 guy (maybe more)... even without the cowboy hat! Nice guy in general, but truly could be an intimidating presence if he wanted. Looked similar to Wade Barrett in their YouTube clips.

Rob, how tall do you think his tag team partner Faarooq was at the time of APA? Could you guess his height with boots or his barefoot height? It's clear that Bradshaw has a few inches more than him. Simmons is billed as 6'2 but I think he is under that...
Editor Rob: sorry mate, don't have an estimate on him yet.

Almost 6'5 barefoot, but not at all. Maybe 6'4.5 or 4.75
He is 6'5.5 with boots, or even half an inch more than that. He is currently 6'5 with normal shoes, I guess.
As Blackjack Bradshaw he really can be seen as a 6'6, but since then JBL surely had lost some height. Not really as much as other competitors though.

Rob, don't you think he slouches a lot? that may cost him some height, hope not though, despite age can be a height loss factor for everyone. JBL doesn't stand at full posture and I think it is because the majority of people he treat is shorter than him. He had a good posture as Bradshaw, but as JBL he started to take a bad posture.
Editor Rob: I'm sure at times he doesn't look much over 6ft 4, and this could be just a looser posture.
S.J.H said on 18/Mar/17

James B said on 18/Mar/17
Taker might have already lost a small fraction of height when he stood next to JBL in cowboy boots.

If you stood a 1992 undertake next to JBL in Cowboys there might have been a slightly bigger difference.

So taker was 6'7-6'7.5 range in the 90s and 6'7-6'7.25 by the early 2000s

He could push Undertaker close in cowboy boots, then again Taker was never anything over 6'7.
Willy Grame said on 18/Mar/17
Wow, JBL is really tall. I noticed when he does his entrance and starts dancing that he often wears boots (like cowboy boots) that make him look even taller. And back on the day, as a heel, the cowboy hat make him a bit taller too. However, he doesn't need to wear any of that to "obtain" more height because he is tall enough!
Antonio said on 18/Mar/17

Willy Grame said on 17/Mar/17
Rob, how do you think a 5'11" or 6 ft person would look with someone who is 6'5" like JBL is?

As a member of the APA, Bradshaw had a good few inches on his tag team partner Farooq, who is currently billed as 6'2" but he was 6'1" at that time and nowadays even less, around 6' or something. So I think Bradshaw was a weak 6'6" and the JBL gimmick looks like no more than 6'5" (and not really less than that either).

@Wrs567 1st photo, Not only the camera is way shorter than them but also JBL is behind Orton so that's why he looks shorter and also the 2nd photo, JBL is slouching his neck to get to Randy's eyelevel. which you can see very clearly Randy's neck is standing straight while JBL's is more bended. So Randy is definitely not as tall as JBL there.
