@Roderick: he claims 6’4.5 but his wife measured him 6’4.75. I would take the latter for him and 6’4.5 for Jordan as mentioned before. Neither guy is 6’5 flat I doubt.

I won't lie, if it weren't for his 6'4" claims/measurements at 6'4.75", I would have said 6'5".

I think he's 6-4.75 at his lowest.

I'd upgrade him to that.

Agree with Rob he would measure 6-5.25 at combine

@Dillion Rice

Kobe’s eye level is higher, but Peyton Manning’s top head is higher, meaning Peyton’s taller, but people always go by eye levels.

@Dream So Manning isn’t 6’5?

Rob, not sure if i ask this before but to be fair that if you think of how Kobe apear all the time easily to be 6'5 with every celebrities (not nba teammates) although his wife claim him to be only 6'4 3/4 while highly suspicious have thought of its a height in the evening/night which make no difference for an absolutely low range so i wonder would you still consider to upgrade him to 6'5?
Editor Rob
If he got 6ft 4.75 I think it would be later in the day. At a combine, maybe he could be a solid 6ft 5

Claiming 6'4.5 and 6'5 in sneaks makes it clear he trolls a bit :p must be the tallest guy under 6'5 i've ever seen.

Kobe’s taller than Peyton Manning who’s 6’5. How is he below 6’5?

Starting to question he's truly under 6'5. How do we know for sure that his wife measured his height the right way?
Canson said on 27/Oct/19
@Wingspanpro: Wade is overlisted. I know people who have met him that say he’s best case a solid 6’3”. Maybe 6’2.5-6’3 really. I’ve met Butler. He’s 6’5”. Derozan is 6’5” according to someone who’s met him that I know. Draymond ditto. 6’5”. Pierce weak 6’6 like 6’5.75 next to Brady
Canson said on 27/Oct/19
@Wingspanpro: I have Carter at 6’5”. 6’5.5 is likely rounded up and earlier In the day. And like Viper said kobe wouldn’t lose 1.25” in a day at that size under normal conditions. My best guess for Kobe is 6’5.5 out of bed and 6’4.75 afternoon. Carter maybe 6’5.75-6 out of bed 6’5-5.25 afternoon

@Viper: Kobe can look it but then you see him with Carter and Carter looks taller by a smidgeon at times. Carter wasn’t as tall as Dr J either.

I take Vanessa Bryants measurement with a grain of salt. Aside from the fact we don't know what time of day she measured him at, do we really believe she was particularly accurate or scientific with how she took down his height?

I can buy Kobe at 6'4.75" but I can buy him at a little over 6'5" as well.

Afternoon height and evening height don’t really vary. If we’re talking a lunchtime and an afternoon it’s maybe 1/8” as Rob has also said. A lot of people have said if he was measured at night but then if that’s the case we would need to attack the combine measurements that occur early morning

Canson said on 17/Oct/19
@Junior: I guess we wont. But she did say one day at home. But I agree that could mean night. My guess based on how he looks with Lebron or Carmelo or Gronk is that it was afternoon. He looks 1” shorter than Gronk 1.25-1.5 shorter than Melo and 2 or so than Lebron
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 16/Oct/19
@Canson We wouldn't know Vanessa measure him at night tho. Under 195cm absolute low is like head scratching.
Canson said on 10/Oct/19
@Junior: I agree with a lot of what you said but I doubt Kobe’s “extreme low” is that. Maybe 6’4 5/8 best case or .5. His normal low may be more 195-195.2 and maybe he was rounded down but he really does look 6’4.75 next to 6’2.25 Russell Westbrook. Next to them Draymond Green looks max 6’5”. There are other pics of Green and he looks maybe a CM taller than Kobe. Lol Steve Kerr said that he’s 6’2 1/2 and that Green is only 2” taller than him. Kerr looks shorter than Curry at times and was only listed 6’1” at points of his career then 6’3” at other times. Curry also claims 6’2 3/4” barefoot now which is a joke. Both guys are claiming shoe heights. 6’1.25 and 6’1.5 respectively
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 9/Oct/19
@Canon Zoom in and take a look again. Stop a line on Kobe's head and check the difference towards MCD head it's clearly 3cm but please understand what i mean the picture tilt down a little from MCD side which may vary a 1/4 to 1/2" shorter for him. Kobe may easily edge him 2cm not 3cm and Rob had admit that MCD could be as low as 6'4. It's not the shoes, heavier issues make MCD lower or Kobe posture. There are more picture of them to check out on google. Kobe extreme low is 6'4 3/4 we can take it and MCD isn't a problem for flat 6'4 although Rob given a 1/4 more for him that just not a lowest height for MCD.
Canson said on 9/Oct/19
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 8/Oct/19
Rob, You can see the difference between Kobe and Michael Clarke Duncan here isn't under 3cm Click Here so how could MCD listed at 6'4 1/4 and Kobe 1/2 inch taller? I understand picture tilt a little down from MCD side from the background doorway line on the wall but there is more chance 2cm between them than 1/2". Maybe the late MCD is always 6'4?

@Junior: that is not a 3cm difference between them. That’s max 1”. Possibly is just a 2cm difference. And posture wise how do we know MCD is standing his fullest and not losing 1/4”? Kobe usually has good posture from what I see. A heavier guy like MCD may not but a MCD in 04 may have been 6’4” flat. But guess what we can’t see? Footwear. If Kobe has thicker shoes then that may explain it

As far as Draymond Green, I doubt the pre draft was accurate for him. You didn’t see any other coaches out their saying that a guy who measured 6’5.75 was only 6’5” like Alvin Gentry and Kerr said about Green. And they didn’t measure them in the afternoon. It was likely also in the morning. They are aware that players are shorter in the afternoon or after practicing and working out. Maybe he was 6’5.25 a couple hours out of bed as opposed to one but I’d say 6’5 to 5 1/8” as opposed to 6’5 1/4” at a low. But Draymond is even less if that was early morning that he got 6’5” flat. I never would’ve thought it but draymond May be a weak 6’5”. I do see pics where he and Kobe are the same or Kobe taller than Draymond so it’s inconclusive in some. Others he is taller. You also see what I’ve said all along about Isaiah Thomas he said he was 5’8” and that’s what he turned out to be. Most measurements in the NBA this season aren’t less than the person measured at their pre draft except for Green and Thomas. A lot are actually higher which I find even more odd because not that many people grow after 18 and many of the ones they said grew don’t look any taller than they were when drafted. Look at Jaylen Brown for example. His measurement shows taller than he was when he was drafted. I see 6’6” in some places 6’5,5 in others for the 2019 official and he was 6’5.25 when drafted. Morning height of course for both. Just goes to show we can’t trust pre draft measurements very much. Food for thought for Green. He was undersized for a big forward so they likely boosted his measurement some. 6’7” at the time was deemed short for a power forward. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were really just 6’5.25 early morning when he was drafted and is only 6’4.75 or 7/8 now that I see this
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 8/Oct/19

It's very possible that Wade's 6'3.75" wasn't an error, but rather a round up from 6'3 5/8" (as the NBA combine doesn't bother with 8th fractions) and Wade measured that in the morning and lost 3/4" and is only 6'2 7/8" at his low. I'm more inclined to believe that it wasn't an error.

I agree I do think hes 6'7" and possibly 6'7 and 1/8" though however I do respect an argument of 6'6 7/8 and even 75 though I dont go that low

Melo is minimum 3cm taller in each pic. I didn’t see a tilt in any of them to be honest. The diff could even be 3.5-4

@canson wades measurement cant be an error as there is no way he is only 6'2.75" early morning the only conceivable error is 6'3.25" morning but even then id be surprised if hes that low it seems he has a long torso which can lead to a lot of variation I do agree though wades only solid 6'3" at most hes listed to high here

I’m not sure if they were early morning that year. Carmelo looked close enough to his height in person so did A couple others I met and Lebron does on tv at least. But even if it’s held later in the day, what’s stopping someone from laying down to gain height. Lots of people do. They will even get carried in from time to time. Wade may just be 6’2.75” at a low. Wade doesn’t look to have an overly long torso imho

Questioner said on 7/Sep/19
@canson I dont know if your directing this at me but I never said kobe is 6'5+ i told you my personal estimate is 6'4 7/8" as .75 is the lowest I can see him and 5/8 the lowest I see on a bad height day

Where did I say anything about 6’5+? I’m directing it at people who challenge the measurement. Not saying he can’t be 6’5” if he were undermeasured. I’m saying people take that escape route instead of saying someone else isn’t as tall as listed
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 8/Sep/19

6'5" isn't that bad of an estimate, but 6'5.5" is taking things too far, that's inflating IMO. I've seen a few posters claim that Kobe's 6'5.5"

I agree! Another question is this:

Let's assume Kobe is somewhere like 6'4.75"-6'5", which seems very possible.

Where does that leave Bo Burnham and Michael Carter Williams, in your opinion? Since there is a comparison between the two.
Editor Rob
I still put Bo over 6ft 5, I doubt he will measure less than his listing, but then Kobe also I think is only going to be 6ft 4.5 at midnight after a bad day.

@Rob: if that’s (6’4.75”) his normal low I agree 100% that 6’4.5” is probably his extreme low. He doesn’t look less than 6’4.75” but on a few occasions and usually with Jordan since they look the same at times or he can look shorter here and there

Was doing pre-match PR for Roger Federer and Dan Evans' match at the US Open yesterday. Roger was stooping a bit, and with the stoop he looked 3.5 to 4 inches shorter. So that's 6 ft 5 maximum without the stoop. From that, I'd go for 6 ft 4 1/4 - 6 ft 4 3/4.

@canson is 6'4 & 7/8 posssible I wonder if when his wife measured him that was what he was but because a lot of people dont even know 8ths of inches she just said .75 because it still was slightly under the 5 mark im saying this because kobe looks a legit 6'5" a lot of times and occasionally over it. I think this is low on a bad day or an extreme low and maybe on a bad height day coupled with hitting an extreme low he might be the 5/8 mark but normally the 7/8 mark is his low
Canson said on 26/Aug/19
@Junior: Kobe isn’t any higher than he’s listed. Look at him with 6’7” (peak) Phil Jackson who is in flip flops and he’s in sneaks. It’s a good chance Jackson was not even the full 6’7” when that picture was shot in 09 or 10. He was in his 60s then and even had had hip replacement

Nobody sees an atual measurement to proof anything on Kobe's height it's just all plain guessings and non stop comments plus quotes. Also if Michael Strahan 6'4 1/4 so trusted by Rob then 6'5 1/4 should goes to Kobe for a listing not 6'4 3/4. Also Kobe edge out MJ so he deserved upgrade from a longtime ago.

@Junior: I didn’t win anything. This is all a debate and you make great points. I’m just saying that in pics with Melo that he’s not 2” taller than Melo. At times it really can look between 1-1.5”. I would suggest a 1.5” difference probably. With DJ I see 2” but with DJ we aren’t sure if that’s his low. Melo I’ve seen up close and he’s At least 6’6”. In the pic wit him DJ and Blake I’m not seeing less than 2” is all I was saying and that is also in how far their shoulders are from each other. Their necks aren’t much different to compensate for that. Blake really doesn’t look like he’s as tall as the bigger power forwards in the league. He doesn’t have much height (if any) on Kevin Love who many say is only 6’7” in person. Love likely was measured at (equivalent) to a morning height meaning he likely laid around prior to being measured being 2008 was an afternoon measurement. I have heard stories all the time from guys who have played and been to the combine about people wearing enhanced footwear or socks and also even being carried inside or even laying down prior to the measurement. It’s no secret that players are going for money so they will do that
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 6/Aug/19
Canson, you win. LOL. But reality there isn't over 1.5" apart where i knew this from someone over 6'7 met them several times.
Canson said on 5/Aug/19
@Junior: his hair wasn’t thick for the combine. That’s correct but in the picture it was thick. That’s for sure a solid 2. Look at if DJ straightens his head out and Blake comes up 2” above the mid eyebrow. In addition, look at Their shoulders. But also at how small he looks next to DJ. Not small but how much shorter. And other pics of them it’s the same. He routinely looks 2” shorter than him
Canson said on 5/Aug/19
@Junior: it’s def still a 2” difference between Jordan and Blake. Maybe not more but it’s a solid 2”. Also look at Carmelo and Blake. Blake is not 2” or even 1.75” taller than Melo.
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 5/Aug/19
@Editor Rob Click Here if you zoom in photo this comparison is more on 1.5"?

@Canson You zoom in the picture and take another look, Blake had a longer andd bigger head size than DeAndre that disadvantages on Blake side. It brings out 2" illusion when small head helps the taller one look even taller than his measure height. Blake's hair wasn't as thick as you think, Click Here look here he might have pointed head on the tip of his head. Like Kobe and Metta's head. Blake's eye level look at least 1/8 low sets than DeAndre smaller head proportion eye level Click Here.
Canson said on 2/Aug/19
@184guy: he was measured at 6’8.5 though not 6’8.75. That wasn’t too long out of bed either so chances are he may have lost up to 1/4” tops. He woke up at 624 am on the video and was in the gym so chances are it was within the first half hour which the most someone loses by that stage is up to 1/4” maybe even a bit less. Some guys lose 1/4” after a full hour. And for a guy his size that’s possible to dip another .75 since someone his size can lose an inch. Also one thing I always point out is that when you measure they don’t do 1/8” increments so it’s always possible it was 6’8 3/8 as opposed to half. I only put him under the mark because he doesn’t add up with DeAndre Jordan Caron Butler around 6’5” in person or a few others I’ve mentioned such as Jamal Crawford and also Carmelo Anthony who is around 6’6” when I saw him. He doesn’t have 2” on Melo. That said 6’8” is max for him whereas a weak 6’8” is very possible. See the article below. All players mentioned at UnC measured 1/2” or 3/4” taller than they did the year before strictly because it was held in the morning. Blake is even taller than they are so he stands to lose more. If it weren’t that early it wouldn’t have resulted in as much loss for the players as it did.

@NBAfan: If you look at pics with DeAndre Jordan who measured 6’9.75 it’s clearly a 2” difference. Jordan was an afternoon measurement and Blake a morning height. The video showed him getting out of bed and going straight to the Combine (downstairs). A guy his size if he measured 6’8.5 that early in the morning could very realistically be 6’7.75 in the afternoon or even 6’7.5 if the 6’8.5 wasn’t fully that. They may have rounded up from 6’8.3 even. They don’t do 1/8” in NBA. Blake doesn’t even have 3” on Draymond Green who Steve Kerr and Alvin Gentry said is 6’5” as well as Rex Chapman
Canson said on 30/Jul/19

@Junior: but we don’t know If Chandler is 6’11.5 at a low. That’s his combine measurement. I actually have always had him 6’11” next to Others. Chandler next to Melo or 6’8.5 or .75 Amare Stoudemire is not more than 6’11”. Dirk I don’t rule out growing but 6’10.75 is too high. Blake does not look 6’8” with Jordan. And that’s assuming DJ is really that tall at a low. I think 6’9.5 is as low as he would be though. Looks 1.5” shorter than garnett. Blake is close to 2” shorter than DeAndre. Blake in the video got right out of bed and went to the combine. He didn’t lose that much height from when he woke up. The absolute max I buy for Blake is 6’7.75. I posted a pic previously with a 6’10” female where he was 2-3” shorter and next to kevin Love he looked the same height or maybe 1/2” taller at absolute best. Either way Harrison Barnes looks around 6’6.5 afternoon height and is taller by a good amount. Luka 6’6” max is all I can buy for him.
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 12/Jul/19
@Canson Click Here Its an odd angle and favor closer to camera for DeAndre here making Dirk same height as him but look at their shoulder differences it is 1". Dirk is always 3/4 inch shorter than 6'11 1/2 Tyson Chandler from the past, Dirk is 6'10 3/4 not 6'10 this low. Click Here Better picture here Dirk is inch taller and Luka look 6'6 1/4 compare to 6'9 3/4 DeAndre who tilt up head a little. 6'6 1/8-1/4 a low much proper for Luka Doncic. Small head and high eye level help DeAndre at times look taller like he is 6'10 or more like you being fooled a few times from the 2" perception between Blake Griffins and DeAndre. Blake is not under 6'8 worst case and DeAndre get his 6-8am measurement at 6'9 3/4 remember that he could be 6'9 1/2 if we rule out. 1.5" can look 2" sometimes if camera angle help the taller one most of time people can be easily fool by it.

Who were you comparing him to that you thought he was taller than that?

I can go with the full 6'5 for Kobe if he is under measured and is the lowest. I don't wish to lower all 6'5 actors by half inch but strong facts Kobe can look 6'5-6'5.25" range with lots of celebrities especially he look close to 4" taller than Morgan Freeman listed 6'1.75" now and had solid 4-4.25" over 6'1 Obama. Jordan and Barkley i wouldn't go under 6'4 5/8 but they can be 6'4 3/4 to me.
Canson said on 1/Jul/19
@Junior: I would have Jordan and Barkley about the same peak. 6’4.5 or 6’4 5/8
Canson said on 1/Jul/19
@Junior: yea but Cam measured 6’5 early morning. My bet would be on him being absolutely no higher than 6’4.75 and that’s if he doesn’t lose as much height due to the muscle he has. But 6’4.5 is possible for Cam. I don’t rule out 6’5 for Kobe if his wife undermeasured but I still think 195-195.1 is ok for him
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 30/Jun/19
@Canson Lets just say MJ and Barkley both are fractionally shorter than Kobe would do. But alot of 6'5 listed guys were also listed too high as well. Cam Newton is no way 6'5 7/8 in opposite Kobe i feel is the one to be 1/8 over Cam if measure, Cam is in the group of MJ party.

Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 16/Jun/19
Rob, No obligation but i remember you say Kobe eye level look to be 4.5" and head not much over 9" but the more i look at his picture and head comparison i doubt it now. Click Here
Click Here
Click Here
look at the 3 picture here we can tell Kobe had a long big chin and his eye level to the top of his pointed up head look to be 4.75"(12.07cm) and overall from his middle eye level down his lower chin look to be a few mm over 4.75" (12.07cm) so what i estimate out in metric of Kobe head look to be about 24.2cm rounded down is 9.5"(24.13cm) if you saying not much over 9" which mean impression of 9.25" max which is quite unrealistic. What i mean is that Kobe's eye level wasn't that low as we think and that boost out his head measurement longer than we think it too.
Editor Rob
He does have a longer eye-chin length than eye-top of skull.
Canson said on 14/Jun/19
@Junior: it could be something like 7/8” as that looks no different. So Holmes May be 6’4 3/8 (194) and Bo 6’5 1/4 or 3/8. I could buy Holmes as 6’4.25 because he’s an inch taller than Conan. I don’t rule out 3/4” between Pete and Bo
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 14/Jun/19
@Canson No. There is more than 2cm if you watch back a few times again when they face to face check on the top of their head and Pete simply look up to him. 1" is the lowest to go. Pete has to be 6'4.25" if Bo is 6'5.25". If Pete atill listed 6'5 more optimistic to go with 6'6 for Bo. The 5'10.5" listed Josh Hamilton had a full 8" lower than Bo that gives out illusion that Bo is 6'6.5", i could only think Josh is 5'10 and Bo 6'6 and you can say its their best shot measurement at higher range include Pete 6'5 claim and 6'6 Owen Benjamin.
Canson said on 12/Jun/19
@Junior: 6’5.25 is very realistic for Bo. Holmes Was more 194cm guy or max 6’4.5 and that was a 2cm difference. Kobe is possible in the 194.5-195 range at a low (194.5-195) which would put him right at 6’4.75
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 11/Jun/19
Click Here Abetter comparison here can see strongest 202cm PG had a strong 7cm on Kobe, don't get fooled by the tilt up head from PG and tiny bit 1/8th hair top advantage than Kobe because this give illusion a strong 3" it isn't. Kobe is not under 6'4.77" if anything lowest. Looking 6'4 7/8th-6'5 still "open vacancy" for Kobe. I did say relax measurement 6'4 1/2, a little slouch measurement 6'4 and straight up measurement 195cm on the dot all lowest for Kobe. There are too many evidence out there that Kobe could not be under 6'5 or 195cm.

@Dream Bo is not under 6'5.5"let alone just 6'5.25", remember he look 6'6 with Pete Holmes. Pete isn't looking under 6'4.5" if you keep saying Bo at 6'5.25" then Pete has to go down 6'4.25" which is cruelty for Pete's 6'5 claim. Lol. Metta i agree with current listing 6'5.5" but from the past look alot like only 0.5" taller than Kobe. Chances is Bo is fractionally taller than Metta than the same.

Lowest to go:
Kobe 195cm
Pete 194.3cm
Bo 197cm
Metta 196.5cm
Canson said on 10/Jun/19

@Dream: yea i have Kobe at 195 and Metta 196.5 perhaps 196.2. Metta looks close to what Kawhi Leonard or shall I say vice versa. Leonard was a 6’6 morning height so I could see Metta being that and being the 6’5.5 he claimed later on
Dream said on 6/Jun/19
His wife did measure him at 6’4 3/4”, so I’m going with that. The 6’4 1/2” is a round down.

Although Metta World Peace and Bo Burnham (with comparison) did edge out Kobe Bryant, I wouldn’t Kobe under 195 cm, truthfully. He can look easily taller than he’s measured.

6’4 1/2” Kobe Bryant would put Metta World Peace at 6’5 1/4”, like Bo Burnham.
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 6/Jun/19

@Rob: I doubt it’s not standing tall. Prob rounded down from 6’4.75 to 6’4.5 but just say he and Jordan are the same height, he could be 6’4.5 as that’s what Jordan was. So even though Kobe may edge him which I suspect, there’s a chance of 6’4.5 for Kobe as well
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 3/Jun/19
I miss out the latest quote Kobe mention his kid remind him he was 6'4 1/2 without shoes, that is terrible if he is only this tall then all nba players in this site need down 1/2. Might be loose posture gets Kobe 6'4 1/2 measurements if not T Mac will far cry for being 6'6.

Maybe Kobe didn't stand 'tall' for his 6ft 4.5 measurement.

@Junior: my bad I did misunderstand! But your post was very well said! I actually would’ve guessed Melo somewhere around 198.5 but I’m not perfect with metric. But when I look at Melo and then see my 6’6 friend when he and I are in similar footwear he stood almost the same. Melo did have better posture I’ll say that. I definitely would argue the same thing you did that Melo is not less than 6’6” at a low. In fact I would argue that he’s slightly over it rather than something like 197cm. Yea in pics we could be fooled into believing 3/4” between Kobe and Melo
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 6/May/19
@Canson I think you mistaken what i mean. I mean i could easily fool people with this post Click Here and say look at Kobe he is 6'5.5" if Carmelo is 6'6.25" and problem is you post this picture Click Here also fooled some people that Carmelo is 6cm taller than 195cm Kobe not 3-4cm so he is 6'7 if those people wasn't height aware than us they will easily get fool all he time. Because its all up to camera angle and sometimes little extra soles that some players have slide in their shoes or just a thicker basketball sneakers like some nike air given 3.5cm thickness that i have see before Carmelo use to wear it in the past and that is how he look next to Kobe looking near 4cm taller. If going by 6'4.75" standard is 194.9cm which Kobe look at least solid 195cm so there is chances he could be 6'4 7/8 or worst he is really 195cm on the dot at worst low and Carmelo i wouldn't go under 198cm and we make some logic he was measure a few hours out of bed and get a full 6'6 1/4 did not Bust a Gut then he will went down 198-198.1cm a higher chance also depend how many hours of good sleep he have. Although sometimes i still see Carmelo as 198.3-198.5cm just like i see Kobe as flat 6'5 alot than weak 6'5, but the odds they may just measure infront of us at 195cm and 198cm at night but both try Bust a Gut they could be 6'5 and 6'6.25". Similar issues with 6'5 and 6'6 1/4 listed actors and they maybe what they listed as their lowest height with Busting a Gut :p
Canson said on 4/May/19
@Junior: that’s not a very good picture of Melo and Kobe. Melo is consistently at least 3cm taller than Kobe in pics. Sometimes even 4cm. While Kobe can look a bit taller than he measured at times I could take the 6’4 7/8 You mentioned. Or maybe 195 flat but not 6’5.5. Maybe 6’5 flat if Vanessa undermeasured him but he looks shorter than Sasha Vujecic who measured 6’5.5. No guarantee that’s a low for Sasha either

@Canson if 6'4.75" means 194.9cm then i would have give Kobe 6'4 7/8. Really hardly see him under 195cm and atual comparison close up with Carmelo not over 3cm. Click Here I could have use this picture and say Kobe is 6'5.5" next to Carmelo but Kobe is a little closer to camera.
Canson said on 30/Apr/19
@Junior: but Kobe was measured 6’4.75 in addition to KROC saying that. I doubt he’s 6’5.25 at a low. I don’t rule out 6’5 flat but he looks 6’4 1/2 at times like with Melo but other times he looks like Rob lists him. I still think the 195cm is his low
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 29/Apr/19
@Canson What if 196cm KROC atually had fraction or 1/4 more footwear or other theory is Kobe did not stand straight when he walk up to him. We wouldn't know it. I'm thinking if MJ and Barkley could get fraction more listing than Kobe height then no way Kobe is under 6'5 1/4, thus he is obviously the tallest among them so he need an upgrade to a proper 6'5 from Rob.
Canson said on 19/Apr/19
@Junior: I think a solid 195 is possible. But if he really were undermeasured it would likely be by maybe 1/4” inch. And KROC a former poster here has met Kobe and said that he was around half inch shorter than he was KROC is 196cm (6’5-6’5.25). Now Of course we can’t prove he met him but if he did it adds up. I would probably go with 1cm difference though as opposed to 1/2”
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 17/Apr/19
@Dream I'm thinking Kobe was measure back facing wall with a ruler and we could see the top of his head is like pointed up, there easily be chance if Vanessa measure him placing the ruler sided not accurately touching at the top part of his head it could easily lose a fraction. Top of my head was the same as Kobe and i was once measure back face wall by ruler from my sister and lose a fraction and i could feel the ruler did not touch the tip of pointed area and tell her to re-measure again and i get my atual measurement back. Kobe have claim 6'5 from the past several times on show that is more believable than some trying to say he look 6'4 1/2-3/4 range. I honestly always see him looking from 195.5-196cm range than 194.9cm low range. This is just the measurement theory i suspect a 5'4 Vanessa could make a mistake like this out on Kobe.

Jdubbz 196cm said on 4/Apr/19
@Christian:

I gotta admit though, for all the crap Europeans give us for using the imperial system, it's funny that they can't even be bothered to understand that it is a base 12 rather than a base 10 system.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 3/Apr/19
@Jdubbz
I used to exclusively claim 197 when using metric, but these days I switch between 196 and 197. You're right though that the metric system, at least when it comes to height, is simpler. I wish that the US system would use only inches instead of feet + inches when it comes to height. Not only it's simpler to claim, but it reduces confusion among foreigners. Sometimes foreigners get confused. For example, some think that 6'4" and 6.4ft means the same thing. It would be simpler if it was just called as 76".
Canson said on 2/Apr/19
@Christian and Jdubbz: I think with Strahan that he was probably 6’5” in shoes all along. Best case is my current height at his peak but wouldn’t surprise me if he dipped down to around 6’4” peak since the 6’4.25 was a combine measurement usually some point In the AM. People forget that 6’4.25 was what he measured meaning he wasn’t taller than that. Only debate is whether that was his low for the day which it likely was not
Canson said on 2/Apr/19
@Christian: I would say 0-1/4” round down. Although I see what you’re saying with 0-1/8” as that’s a true solid. I round down now at 6’4.25-.3 but only because it’s barely over the 1/4” and some days I’m bang on 6’4.25. Probably 4 maybe 5 days a week counting if I work out or if I go out at night and am out late. I would also claim 6’4 1/2 at 5/8. I would probably round up if my normal low were 3/4”. If something like 2/3” and I could come down to around 194.5 at times I would go with 1/2” still
Jdubbz 196cm said on 2/Apr/19
@Christian:

That's a perfectly valid way of looking at it. I'm much more pedantic on this forum for obvious reasons, but IRL I just round to the nearest inch. It's never a bad thing to be accurate though. I'm actually thinking of just claiming my height in cm even in the US. To be honest, I envy the Europeans and Asians for standardizing a superior measurement system. 196cm is the most accurate representation of my height, and sounds a lot less "tryhard" than claiming 6'5 1/8 or 6'5 1/4 irl, though it means the same thing. In your case it's probably tougher since you fall between 196 and 197, but I still think either of those would sound better than quarter or half inches. Just my opinion though.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 1/Apr/19
@Jdubbz
I understand that. But If I was 6'4 5/8", I'd claim 6'4.5". That's just me. My thinking is this:
0-1/8" round down to the nearest whole inch
1/4"-5/8" round to 1/2"
3/4"-7/8" round up to the nearest whole inch
Canson said on 1/Apr/19
@Jdubbz: strahan’s height is a bit hard to pin down. Peak height he did measure 6’4.25 but not sure if that was his low or not. If he really were that tall at a low then the 6’4.75 would be an early morning measurement when he played. I wouldn’t rule out something like 6’4 at a low though peak and or maybe he’s lost height today and is only 6’3.75 or 6’4”. A lot was said about the Kobe pic but variables could also be that Kobe wasn’t awake as long perhaps or that he had camera advantage. That may not have been a full inch
Canson said on 1/Apr/19
@Christian: I would probably say 6’4 1/2 at 6’4.5 or 6’4 5/8. I think if I’m over about 2/3 then I would round up. At 5/8 there is still room to come down at an extreme low. That’s also why I round down to 6’4 from 6’4.25/.3 since I can hit 6’4.25 easily in a day and even a bit less if I’m on my feet for even just a couple hours after hitting a low.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 1/Apr/19
@Canson
If I was flat 6'5" I'd claim 6'5", and if I was 6'4.5", likewise, I'd claim as that. I personally don't see the need to round up 1/2", especially at heights like those.
Jdubbz 196cm said on 31/Mar/19
@Canson and Christian:

I claimed 6'5 when I was in the weak 6'5 6'4.5-6'4.75 range a month or two ago. Irl, people can't tell anyway and they'll probably think worse of you for claiming a fraction of an inch when you're already that tall. Luckily I'm just over 6'5 now so there's no reason to claim anything else. As for Kobe, I still think he's 195cm flat at a low. Maybe he just said he was 6'4.5 to make Strahan look bad, idk lol. If Strahan is really 6'3.75 or even 6'4 flat, then the 6'4.75 could have been right out of bed.
Canson said on 30/Mar/19
@Christian: if you were 6’5 flat at a low would you claim 6’5 as To your current 6’5.5? Also if 6’4.5 at a low, would you go with 6’5 or 6’4 1/2?
Canson said on 29/Mar/19
@Dream and 184guy: 6’4.75 is probably what he really measured. That’s not to say that he can’t potentially come down lower especially at an extreme low.

@Christian: yea in my case if I hit the gym I’m a solid 1/4” over 6’4” and days when I stand more. Also the extreme low is at most maybe 1.5mm over 6’4”.

I'd personally claim 6'5" if I was 6'4.75", but there's nothing wrong with claiming 6'4.5" either. That's only a 1/4" round down. No different than you claiming 6'4" at 6'4.3"
Dream said on 28/Mar/19
But I think 6'4 3/4" is really fine because Kobe measured it. He constantly looks an even 6'5" often.

He looks 6'4 1/2" at times, with Metta World Peace. Bo Burnham looks taller than Kobe--with Michael Carter Williams. Sometimes, Carmelo Anthony can look 2 inches over Kobe, with a camera advantage. JJ Watt also looks taller than Kobe--with Yao Ming.

While Kobe Bryant has looked 6'5" often, he was measured just shy of the 6'5" mark, but he's closer to the 6'5" mark than most people.
Canson said on 27/Mar/19
I’m beginning to wonder if Strahan is really only 6’3.75 barefoot at a low and that measurement he’s referring to is in shoes. He really does look an inch shorter than Kobe or very close. He only measured 6’4.25 at the combine
Canson said on 27/Mar/19
@Dillon: lol that’s odd. Kobe actually measured 6’4.75 so he’s probably rounding down whereas Strahan measured 6’4.25 at the combine not 6’4.75.

@Rob: I doubt Kobe at a normal low is only 6’4.5 the more I see. 6’4.75 like you have him and he measured. He’s likely rounding down and he and Strahan probably have an inch or close. Strahan probably has lost some height if he really were over 6’4 or the 6’4.25 is a height a few hours out of bed as he generally looks something like what Brady is around 6’4” flat

Canson said on 26/Mar/19
@Jdubbz: I could see 1/4” drop for Jordan and Kobe below their normal lows. Kobe at 6’4.75 could dip to 6’4.5 and Jordan 6’4.5 to 6’4.25.
Jdubbz 196cm said on 25/Mar/19
@Canson:

So do you think peak Jordan could dip to 194cm or even 6'4.25 at an extreme low? There appears to be a quarter inch difference between him and Kobe, and though I don't think Kobe would dip to 6'4.5 even under the worst conditions, it's definitely not far fetched.
Canson said on 18/Mar/19
@Jdubbz: I could see like 194.7 maybe every day but not 6’4 5/8. I think really 194.8-195 and extreme low 6’4.5. I would say that Jordan is 6’4.5 at a low. Next to 6’9” Larry Bird he’s over 4” shorter. Bird doesn’t even look that tall today either. I’d be surprised if he’s over 6’8” but he has back issues
Jdubbz said on 17/Mar/19
@Canson:

Yea that's true. He could potentially be in the upper 194 range at times, like 6'4 5/8" - 6'4.7". I can't see him measuring that low every day though, maybe at an extreme low.
Canson said on 14/Mar/19
This listing is about as accurate as it gets
Canson said on 10/Mar/19
@jDubbz: it sure seems that way with Kobe but same time he could dip below into the high 194 range. However I think 6’4.75 is his normal low
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 10/Mar/19
By comparison of many celebrities for listing i'll go with 6'5-6'5 1/8 for Kobe where he should be listed it, but with the truth he might be solid 6'4 7/8 guy hardly drop under 195cm like Jdubbz say.
Jdubbz said on 9/Mar/19
@Junior: If nothing else, I think Kobe would be a good candidate for a 6'4 7/8 listing. He could be 195 at a low, but I doubt anything under that.

@Christian True. Whether Kobe 6'5 was a low or not he still deserved this upgrade since we have all know Russ upgrade is reasonable. Funny that Jordan and Barkley both get 1/8 and 1/4 over Kobe which they're like a dead 1/4 lower than Kobe.

Canson said on 23/Feb/19
@Christian: I think Rob gave him that because he measured that before being drafted and because a lot of other guys here aren’t as tall as listed that he may have compared Russ to. Everyone assumes Russ grew when he hadn’t. It’s because he was measured in the afternoon in 2008 and likely at or near his low whereas guys like Curry who measured in 2009 were at morning heights. It’s been proven 08 was afternoon and 09 morning. But even then, nothing is stopping a guy from laying down before being measured or being over measured which is likely with Kevin Love as he looks closer to 6’7” than 6’8”. Kobe also measured later in his career 6’4.75 by his wife so say to say he’s not over that. Russ is 6’2.25 max though.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 21/Feb/19

Kinda surprised that Rob hasn't given Kobe a 1/4" upgrade to 6'5" yet, especially when considering he's already given a 1/4" upgrade for Russ. IMO the upgrade wasn't necessary.
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 20/Feb/19
Kobe look 6'5 with Russ. Go by listing.
Canson said on 19/Feb/19
@Rob: you can also make a case for 6’4.5 or 6’4 5/8 for Jordan easily. You’ve seen the Olympic picture with Larry bird where it’s a solid 4.5” difference considering how large Bird’s forehead is. But the difference with him versus another 6’4.5 listed guy is that he wouldn’t drop below that during the day whereas another guy listed that way may dip to 6’4 3/8 or perhaps 6’4 1/3”. Jordan may be a mm or two above at maybe 194.5. But 6’4.5 in my opinion just means that they fall into the 6’4 3/8-5/8 category at a low which is where I feel Jordan will fall especially whenever Pat Riley said that is what he was when he was drafted and Riley has met him before many times and spent considerable time around him. But I do believe 6’4.75 is a better listing than a full 6’5”. I just don’t believe that that would be a low for him being many have guessed him lcloser to 6’4”. I think he’d measure similar to Joe Mangianello or Tim Robbins who claimed 6’4.5 as well but is likely as low as he gets. Meaning the trio would likely be weak 6’5 guys as opposed to the other 6’4.5 listed guys who really would be strong 6’4” as they drop below the mark

I know you can make a case for Jordan at 6ft 4.75.

@Rob: they look pretty close to Russ’s pre draft and Kobe’s listing here 6’2.25 vs 6’4.75. I doubt Russ grew since being drafted. More than likely he’s even a hair less than 6’2.25 than over that mark

@Viper: if it’s early morning he may end up over 6’6”

Kobe could get a solid 6'5. A very strong 195 guy in my opinion.

@Viper: it has to be later In the day. Combine is 6am. It could just be a matter of the player going straight to it and them sleeping or laying down longer since there’s prob nothing preceding it in terms of a drug test etc
viper said on 30/Jan/19
Raekwon Davis somehow looks taller there.

I think he will measure somewhere 6-6 at this years combine and pro day.
viper said on 30/Jan/19
Last year Mason Rudolph had a wide range.

6-4.1, 6-4.3, 6-4.5
viper said on 30/Jan/19
Pro day later in the day doesn't make sense. Maybe some are.

It's just usually the highest measurements.

Then you have exceptions like Tyus Bowser measuring his lowest of 6-2.3 at his pro day.
Canson said on 28/Jan/19
@Viper: that’s odd because the Pro Day is later in the day than the combine. There’s something wrong with that if it’s the case. The senior bowl and Combines mirror each other now a days. Carson Wentz measured the same at both of his 6’5.25.
viper said on 27/Jan/19
Senior bowl measurements seem to be earlier now, but I have found they are usually a little shorter than combine.

And especially pro day.

Buggs could be an exception measuring
6-2.3 at the combine or pro day.
Canson said on 24/Jan/19
@Viper: thing is the Senior bowl measurements appear to take place early morning now too judging by how close they are to combine measurements almost identical. Baker mayfield measured 1/4” lower but because his was done at a later time due to the family emergency he had

@Monkey knees: most guys do. Michael Jordan has admitted that Barkley is 6’4 range before and that they’re the same height yet he also claims 6’6”. Both are roughly 6’4.5. That’s how I can tell Wade is not as tall as they say. He has even said he’s 6’4” on a very good day. A guy measuring over 6’3” wouldn’t be saying that. That’s for a guy struggling to make 6’3” or barely making it. As for Kobe I’ve never ruled 6’4.5 out. KROC was a poster here and claimed 6’5-6’5.25 and has said he had Kobe by half inch and that Kobe is weak 6’5 which could mean 6’4 5/8 possibly even. Someone I know had met Kobe says he’s 6’5. Same person said Wade is 6’2.5-6’3 which is how he looks and how KROC guessed Wade as well.
Monkey knees said on 17/Jan/19
Bryant always seemed to float between appearing 6ft 4.5in/6ft 4.75in. For tall guys, NBA players always seem to pump more height on themselves. Do they quote sneaker height as their actual height?
Ian555 said on 16/Jan/19
Yeah Rob I would have to agree with you. Kobe is definitely above 6' 4" and in photos with Dwyane Wade and Michael Clarke Duncan, it looks like his height is probably about 6' 4.75" maybe even 6' 5". My dad said he's actually 5' 11.5" and said Kobe was like 5 inches taller than him.
Canson said on 16/Jan/19
@Rob: a 6’4 estimate isn’t far fetched if Ian’s dad had footwear advantage on him. Also possible Kobe isn’t quite as high as the listing here or that he was at an extreme low

@Dream: lol I remember Junior saying he measured him 198.5cm afternoon. In that case he’s pretty much clear as day 6’6”. Now I could see if he were slightly under 198 and then measured a different time at an extreme low and got closer to 197 or even a mm less but being a solid 6’6 or more and saying that is crazy. To be fair he may be ashamed of it. But he’s no different than someone who is less than their claim claiming to be an inch or two higher.and same fashion because I’m sure a guy who can’t measure say 6’0” when he claims it would do the same thing and argue that he’s really 6’0” when he measured 5’11 in front of witnesses. It’s just Junior’s friend would get more heat because it’s downward and not inflation which is “acceptable” in society sadly enough. Notice how often you’ll see two people around and they compare heights one will claim to be say 6’0 and the other 6’0 who really is. The taller of the two will usually be told he’s 6’1” especially if women are judging them and can’t gauge. For some reason it’s complimentary to tell honest person they’re taller than they are which is very insulting in my eyes than to tell a liar they aren’t as tall as they claim. Hence this height inflation we have

Canson said on 6/Jan/19
@Trevor M: the only times I’ve seen that degree of it is in Wrestling or baseball. You do have some basketball players that list at 6’11 that are 6’7-6’8” . I saw one in the 90s that was listed 6’9 that was 6’5-6’6 barefoot but with Charles Barkley being 6’4.5 himself a 6’5.5 guy being an inch taller could play the 4. The guy I’m referring to is Jeff Turner from the Magic. But a 6’2 guy listing at 6’6 wouldn’t cut it since a 6’6 listed guy will play 3 in addition to 2 and it would be obvious. I know Tyreke Evans was measured early morning 6’4” and doesn’t look more than 6’3 range on the court probably 6’3.5 and he’s listed 6’6” same with Gerald Wallace he was listed 6’7” as was Kobe yet both are 6’4.5-6’5
Dream(5'9.5") said on 6/Jan/19

I usually use the measurement tape. Often, I memorize where the marks of a certain measurement goes.

That 6'10"-6'11" guy I saw in person? Easily, he gave a taller impression than Tyler Mane (6'8" peak) and Michael Kingma (listed 6'9.5"), based on what I saw in person and knowing Rob is 5'8 1/8". He's very much taller than everyone I'm going to list on this one comment:

The 6'6"-6'7" neighbor? I busted out my measurement tape. Based on what I saw in person, he is sky-north of 6'5" and he may well be around 6'6", and that's also considering his posture being 2/10 (very bad slouching), and he had less footwear (flat flip-flops) than me and my dad.

The roughly 6'6.75"-6'7" high school teacher? He was edged out by the Chinese guy who looked likes me. He is visibly taller than everyone in my high school, even the students who are around 6'4" and 6'5".

The 6'7"-6'8" who looks like me but dwarfs me in person? He is easily taller than the 6'6"-6'7" neighbor of mine and he edged out my high school teacher.

I could go on for the list, but don't always rely on impressions. The measurement tape is your best friend.

3 inch inflations in sports aren't uncommon nowadays though. Maybe it was 15 or so years ago when you played in college.
Dream said on 30/Dec/18
@Canson

The only times one can think of someone being overlisted by 4 inches is when someone is sky north over 7’0”. (Like 7’2”-7’3” being guessed at 7’6”.) Then, I can see why that’s the case since 7’0”ers or higher are nigh-impossible to find, no matter where anyone lives.
Dream said on 29/Dec/18
@Canson

Honestly, I find Trevor’s claim to be sketchy. A 6’2” guy doesn’t give the same impression of a 6’6” guy.

Even if his claims were true, I’ve met ‘a lot’ of people massively taller than Trevor, himself:

- My neighbor is probably around 6’6”-6’7”. He only seemed 6’6” flat with posture worst than Idris Elba, wearing less footwear (flat flipflops) than mine and my dad. He can easily fool many people into thinking he was 6’8”.
- My Government Teacher (in high school) is very similar to 6’6.75” men, possibly slightly taller.
- The guy who looks exactly like me (who accidentally kicked me across the room). He’s in the 6’7”-6’8” range. He’d definitely edge out Vitali Klitschko.
- There was a guy in Barnes and Nobles I encountered, who stood beside me, when I was meeting an author. He looked somewhere around 6’10”-6’11” in person.

What I’m saying is that a 6’2” guy could never give an imposing impressing of a 6’6” guy.
Canson said on 29/Dec/18
@Trevor M: not saying 4” isn’t unheard of tho but likely someone who’s under the 6’0” mark
Canson said on 29/Dec/18
@Trevor M: I played college ball myself. 1 or 2 People on our team were overlisted by 2-3” tops. Most were within 2” of their barefoot height and that’s their afternoon height. Even the opponents at some of the larger schools were not like 4+. A 6’2” guy being listed at 6’6” in basketball esp if they play down low or at the 4 is hard to get away with
Canson-6'4 3/8 said on 26/Dec/18

I'm content with being called a 6'5" ranger, but I'm tall enough to be classified as a 6'5"-6'6" ranger as well because even at night I'm often nearer to 6'5.5" than 6'5" flat. Sometimes I can drop to 6'5.25" as well. Same goes for you. You'd be classified as a 6'4"-6'5" ranger.
Canson said on 23/Dec/18
@Dream: yea that’s my way of seeing it. Christian at his height would be closer to 6’5” for example. I look at it as what you’re closest to for the majority of the day so 6’5.5 would be closer to 6’6 for the first half of the day and middle of the road the remainder.
Dream said on 22/Dec/18
@Canson

Oh! So whenever you mention 6’5”-6’6”, you would usually say 6’5.5” for ending day.

That’s also a better way to look at it. My example wasn’t the best. I only went with ‘Oh. These guys are over 6’5”, but not quite 6’6” at the end of the day.’
Canson said on 22/Dec/18
@Christian: yea I didn’t phrase it well. What I was focusing on was the part about his wife “mismeasuring him” or being short so not being able to measure him properly etc. if you see on one of the wrestlers pages a couple weeks back someone said “well what if Kobe’s wife measured him at night”? That’s silly because the night height is the same as an afternoon height for the most part. It’s a lot better than these eye openers that people receive since they’re at height that someone wouldn’t measure again that day without laying down. But not so much that he can’t look 6’5 because he can and 6’4.75 isn’t much off that.

Canson said on 20/Dec/18
His wife being a certain height or not and not being a professional shouldn’t be a reason to take not take her for “granted” or “with a grain of salt”. He looks 195cm on the court next to others. He’s shorter than Caron Butler who is 6’5 himself. People that makes those types of assumptions are making excuses
Ab said on 19/Dec/18
I'd say he's 6ft 5.. his wifes measurements should be taken with a grain of salt as she's what? 5ft 5.. she would have to be in a chair to see over his head. And who knows if Kobe was bending his knees so his wife can see the top of his head and not fall over. Also, Kobe seems like the kind of guy who wants to seem more "human" and everyday type of athlete in contrast with the hyper athletes of his era. I'd say 6ft 5 suits him.
Canson said on 5/Dec/18

Matt Barnes measuring 6’6.75 could mean 6’6.25-.5
Harrison Barnes measuring 6’7 could mean 6’6.5-.75 range

I never said Kobe was shorter than MCW. I did point out that Kobe was loose in posture.

However, Bo was also leaning as well, and he still looked taller than Kobe, standing MCW.

Plus, Kobe has a slight camera advantage. Not much.
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 19/Oct/18
Strange is 6'6 listed Rick Foxx mostly look 2cm taller than Kobe and Matt Barnes claim to be only 6'6 and that is a big 4cm taller than Kobe. Understand most of the fans met Kobe usually claim he is 6'6 and honest ones say 6'5 the same thing as a middle claim height from Kobe. Sorry but have to say Some BS-ter say Kobe is 6'4-6'4 1/2 in person that is untrue. I rather take Vanessa words of 195cm as a night measurement. MCW picture with Kobe was somehow bad because we can't see a proper standing position and feet from both player and MCW was measure during draft and probably just a strong 194cm at his low and not really all players look 1/2 inch or 3/4 shorter than their draft height, it makes me wonder most of them atually look 1/4 or to say just 1cm lower.
Canson said on 15/Oct/18
@Christian: I would put Kobe right where his wife has him measured. I think metta is more like the strong 6’5”. He may be your height or within 1/8”. I can see him measuring maybe a mm or two lower than you would on avg. I have metta at 6’5.25. I actually was the one who got the quote for Rob of him saying he was 6’5 1/2 but that may just be a mid morning measurement. Best case imho he’s 6’5 3/8 at a low

Why would Kobe be a strong 6'5" at lowest?
Canson said on 14/Oct/18
@Junior: a poster here named KROC claimed to have met Kobe and said that Kobe was half inch or a cm shorter than he was. KROC is 6’5-6’5.25 so that puts Kobe around 6’4.75. World Peace is half inch taller but likely 6’5.25 at a low. 6’5.5 is probably earlier I. The day. With Reggie Miller and MWP it’s a CM or half inch difference too and Miller has said before when describing Metta “he’s my height around 6’5 or 6’6” and has called himself 6’5/6’6 before as well. Miller probably edged MWP but they are around the same height (within an inch of each other). My guesses are below

Miller 6’5 5/8-.75
MWP 6’5.25
Kobe 6’4.75
Canson said on 14/Oct/18

Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 13/Oct/18
@Lava Nope he can't be over 6'5. Kobe was 1/2 inch shorter than 6'5 1/2 Ron Artest. Kobe most likely hold a strong 6'5 a lowest height and just one time false measurement accused him being 6'4 3/4 by his wife.
Canson said on 13/Oct/18
Lol if he were 200cm without shoes at a low he would be listed at 6’7” maybe 6’8”. Most players are measured in the morning. He’s listed 6’6 and is 6’4.75 barefoot like Rob suggests

197 cm flat for Kobe Bryant is ridiculous.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You could argue Kobe is looking down, but Metta is further away from the camera. It's arguable that Metta World Peace could be 6'5.25", but that's the lowest I'd argue for Ron Artest (Metta World Peace).

Look at 6'5.25" Bo Burnham with Michael Carter-Williams --> Click Here

Look at Kobe Bryant with Michael Carter-Williams --> Click Here

Keep in mind, both of them are loose in posture. However, with MCW, Bo Burnham 'looks' taller than Kobe Bryant, especially when one considers his obvious lean. 6'5.25" is one of the best listings for Big Bo.

He was 1/16” over the limit and, subsequently, cut as a result. This is what I’ve said all along about NBA pre drafts as well

I would say Joe Manganiello would be slightly shorter than Kobe Bryant. Tom Hopper would look ‘no taller’ than Kobe. Tom Noonan or peak John Cleese could probably edge out Kobe.

We know that Metta looks taller than Kobe. Comparing their pictures with Michael Carter Williams—which I’m sure everyone is sick of at this point—Bo definitely looks taller than Kobe, when making that comparison. I’d say Peyton Manning looks taller than Kobe because the top of his head is higher. Peyton was loose in posture, and his hair doesn’t look more than a few mm’s. Manning doesn’t have something close to regular thick hair, let alone Afro hair. JJ Watt does look taller than Kobe, if we compare their pictures with Yao Ming.
Dream(5'9.5") said on 3/Oct/18
@Canson that is true too. Metta doesn’t look any less than 6’5”. I agree that Rick Fox gives a taller impression.

Metta would be 6’5.25” at a low.

What wouldn’t agree is that Kobe would be above 6’5” flat like 6’5.5”—though at times he seems like it. However, that’s more on other celebrities being over listed than anything. The more I see a comparison with Kobe and other 6’5”+ guys, the more this listing works perfectly fine.

To tell you the truth, the guys who ‘look’ taller than Kobe Bryant (Four of them are strong 6’5” as we both believe), some times, has the ‘accurate’ listings. Not all of them, but some of them have decent listings.
Canson said on 1/Oct/18
@Dream: I have Metta about half inch taller than Kobe. I would say 6’4.75 and 6’5.25 at lows. Metta claims 6’5.5 but that may be a bit earlier in the day. I get a taller impression from Rick Fox than him. Metta can look 6’5 with other players like Lamar Odom

@Batistataker

Then Ron Artest (Metta World Peace) and Bo Burnham would be 6’5.5”-6’5.75” guys, if Kobe happened to be 6’5” at a low.

6’6 with shoes
6’4.75 without

Rob has him pegged!
Dream(5'9.5 said on 19/Sep/18
Rob, silly question, but could I make a case of 6'4 7/8ths" for Kobe Bryant?

I know it's 1/8ths of an inch, but he's consistently looked roughly 6'5".

I wouldn't argue a solid or strong 6'5" though. Metta World Peace and Bo Burnham edged him out--the latter going by a comparison with MCW.
Editor Rob
Like with Barkley, he has a chance at measuring near 6ft 5. Maybe the wife measured him roughly 6ft 4.75 but it could have been a bit more.

@Dream

Both are equally arguable, although those two figures are the highest and lowest I'll estimate Kobe at.
Canson said on 18/Sep/18
@Dream: it wouldn’t surprise me if he could dip a mm or two under 195 to like 194.8 maybe
Canson said on 18/Sep/18
@Dream: I used to think 6’4.5 for Kobe as well. While it may seem low in hindsight, KROC a poster here has guessed Kobe 194-195 and said he’s weak 6’5 and KROC is 196 himself. A couple others have said that as well and it was said at a basketball camp that he’s 6’4.5 in bare feet and 6’6 in shoes and triple socks. It looks low but also no guarantee Vanessa measured him at a normal low. Then again, it could be that she did but even then 6’4.5 would likely be an extreme low

@Monkey knees

Nah, I think 6'4.875" is more than arguable. 6'4.5" is too low.
Canson said on 16/Sep/18
@Dillon: I could see it being even less than an Inch possibly but Kawhi measured that in the morning. I’ve always had him 6’5.5 or somewhere 6’5 range

Kobe looks about an inch shorter than 6’6 measured Kawhi Leonard.

@Junior call me persistent, but this is what I think.

As tall as Kobe Bryant is, I think this listing is fine, but he could be 6’4.875” or roughly 6’5”. I wouldn’t argue anything sky north of 6’5” for Kobe for a low.

• Metta World Peace looked taller than Kobe Bryant by a good half inch. (This is going by the top of their heads. Metta World Peace could be 6’5.25” at a low.)
• Bo Burnham, also, looked taller than Kobe Bryant (with MCW). If anything, Bo would be taller than Kobe by a half inch. 6’5.25” is a great listing for Big Bo.
• This one is still being argued: Peyton Manning did look ‘barely’ taller than Kobe Bryant, even when Peyton is more loose in posture. However, it’s very close. At first glance, Peyton looks shorter, but the more I look at it, the more I realize he can look taller than Kobe.
Dream(5'9.5") said on 13/Sep/18
@Junior

I think Bo is 6’5.25” as listed. Standing with MCW, Bo did look taller than Kobe, especially when Bo was leaning onto MCW.

Also, apparently, Owen Benjamin (according to someone who saw the picture of Owen and Bo) claimed that Bo Burnham was taller than him (Owen).

In my mind thinking.. I would still throw all 6'5 listed actors into 6'4 1/2 range at their low due to Vanessa Bryant words. I"ll throw her 5'4 claimed to 5'3 1/2 really don't look 5'4 next to Kobe. Now i start to think Bo Burnham might be 6'5 before bed if Kobe 6'4 3/4 was a lowest measurement at night.
Canson said on 6/Sep/18
@Viper: I think he’s 6’10ish.

@Christian: Agreed!!!

@Junior and Dream: I would have to say weak 6’5 for Kobe accounting for what Junior said. Kobe has always looked for the most part 6’4.5-6’5. I used to say 194 (same as Jordan) but know a former coach that met him and called him 6’5” so the 6’4.75 makes sense or he had footwear advantage. The same guy met Jordan and said 6’4/6’5. He himself is 6’2”.

How Kobe and Giannis stand is very similar to how current Big Show and Joe Manganiello looks.

Greek Freak is 6-11? I would have thought 6-9-6-10. He looks that physically
Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 2/Sep/18
@Canson The guy head is closer to the camera than Kobe and not seeing what shoes both have. 6'4 7/8 still hang on the big list.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 1/Sep/18
@Canson

Never realized until now how Giannis is much bigger than Kobe (other than height of course). Kobe was listed 212lbs when he played (and possibly even a bit heavier since retiring) and Giannis' 222, but he looks massive compared to him. But Giannis could be one of those guys where he looks bigger than what he weighs.
Canson said on 31/Aug/18
Greek Freak is 6’11 and is 6” taller than Kobe. My guess is that he’s under 6’11” but Kobe is then under 6’5”. Basketball players are rarely listed barefoot
Canson said on 31/Aug/18
@Dream: after seeing this, I have a hard time seeing 6’4 7/8
