@Caesar: that’s interesting. I’ve met Melo like I mentioned and he’s 6’6”. Lebron also looks taller than Richard Jefferson who is supposed to be 6’7” although I can agree he isn’t. He’s probably 6’6”ish. Lebron looks close in height with Love. Maybe 1/2” diff and there’s no way Love is under 6’7”. Now Blake I can agree he’s half inch (at most) taller than Love. I’ve always had him 6’7.5-.75 as he’s at least 2” shorter than Deandre Jordan. My guesses are below

Virtually all of the players are inflated. A 6'9" listed player isn't a true 6'9" unless if he's Kevin Durant. And Lebron measured 6'7.25" in the description so 6'8" is impossible.

I've seen Lebron on more than a few occasions...No way. He's 6'6 guys. Look at pictures with Durant (6'9) or Shaq (6'11.5?) Not a chance. I'm assuming his predraft measurement was exaggerated (like Blake Griffin's) or it was an early morning measurement.

"with in the past year" means somewhere around mid 2015 because the site was in mid 2016 so it's relatively recent. He could've grown a bit since his measurement was at about 19 years old but I doubt he's more than 6'8.75"

I’m sure players know the tricks and many will lay down to get to their morning height. The only reason why I don’t necessarily know if it’s true with Lebron is because he’s admitted to not being measured after reaching 6’6”. Sure he’s over 6’6” flat but I can almost believe he wasn’t measured as well. For one, he shows 6’7.25 barefoot and 6’8” in shoes. That’s only .75 when most players are getting 1.25”. In addition, Kobe shows a 6’5” barefoot on his when he didn’t attend the pre draft by his own admission. I do agree that Lebron is not 6’8” barefoot. Not sure if you saw my post on Kevin Love’s page but someone who has interacted with him said he looked only 6’7”. Dan Majerle also said below that he’s only 6’7”. I take that as 6’7” and change as it doesn’t look only a flat 6’7” but Love was measured in the afternoon in 2008. It shifted in 09. Not sure if they were doing them in the afternoon or morning in previous years but presumably in 2007 they did as Durant is 6’9” flat. LeBron can look taller than 2`01. He towered over Lonzo Ball, listed here at 1`96. He looked as tall as Ben Simmons and as tall yesterday as Jayson Tatum. He looked taller than Kyle Korver. I wouldn´t be surprised if he was around 2`03

@Junior: wade needs a downgrade badly. Not even close. I’d be hard pressed to see a significant difference between he and Russ. If Russ grew its to maybe 189 but 189 and 6’2.25 aren’t much different. Wade isn’t but maybe 1 cm taller. I would say 190ish for Wade to be honest.

@Viper: I think he deserves a page. The only one to compare him to that we know was accurately measured was The Big O. He was measured at 6’4 3/4, but don’t know what time of the day. West could look what you said but also could look similar to Chick Hearn at times. That’s of course provided Hearn was really 6’3” in his prime

I don't know if they actually manipulate or lie about heights when taking measurements. Some little mistakes might creep in like 1/4 inches here and there.

Exactly look at his feet . He's wearing big shoes and still doesnt look 4 inches taller . Prince williams looked 6ft2 that day with 6ft3 adam silver. The guy is 6ft7 morning 6ft6 at night . I'm very certain of that. Another proof here is lebron standing with 6ft7.25 blake griffin and 6ft3 wade. Griffin has about an 3cm or 1.25 on him and he only has about 3inches on wade. He also looks 3 inches shorter than 205-206cm durant and anthony davis. Lebron is 6ft6 at night and 6ft7 in the morning.

I'm very certain of that. Another proof here is lebron standing with 6ft7.25 blake griffin and 6ft3 wade. Griffin has about an 3cm or 1.25 on him and he only has about 3inches on wade. He also looks 3 inches shorter than 205-206cm durant and anthony davis. Lebron is 6ft6 at night and 6ft7 in the morning.

Just to see the results I measured myself twice; once in the morning after a solid 9 hours of sleep, and again at night after a day that included 3 workouts( including a weight training workout that with back squats and cleans, definitely putting some strain on the spine). I dropped a full inch from 6’4.75” to 6’3.75”. Remember these NBA are putting their bodies through some serious stress year round now.
All that said I still believe Lebron could have easily grown to a full 6’8” after being measured at 18 years old. When he got into it with KD during the Finals, talking trash face to face, he barely gave up any height; and in person from the stands he looked just as tall, if not taller, than Kevin Love.

I also want to add I shot up from 5’10” my freshman year to 6’3.75” my sophmore year. For three years I always measured 6’3.75” for my sports physical sophmore through senior year, age 16-18 basically. I grew the .75”-1” IN COLLEGE, after not growing for 3 years, after the turning 18.

I have played against guys that have made it to the League and in summer leagues with guys that were currently in the NBA at the time. I listed myself at 6’5”, but I was usually the same height as all the guys listed at 6’6”. Yes, most ball players at the D-1 to NBA level list their height in shoes(although it seems the Euros do this less) and round up, gaining 1”-1.5” over their “real height”.

Scouts always say it is not your actual height that matters. It is the height to you shoulders, your wingspan and your Standing Reach. Having a long neck does nothing for you. Dwyane Wade is a great shot blocker for a guard at 6’3.75” because of his 6’10.75” wingspan and 8’6” Standing Reach. Nick Young is taller, with a longer wingspan, yet still has a shorter Standing Reach than Wade. Demarcus Cousins is “only” 6’9.5”, but with his 7’ 5.75” wingspan and no neck he has a Standing Reach better than most legit 6’11”+ players in the league.

NBA veteran Richard Jefferson was recently a guest on popular sports podcast. Jefferson is legitimately 6'7" and one of the few players in the NBA that lists his barefoot height. He stated during the interview that when he played with Lebron on the 2004 Olympic team they were the same height, but he was surprised that when he joined the Cavs in 2015 Lebron was now visibly taller. I can see Lebron being a legit 6'8" now as the 6'7.25" measurement was when he was 18, and it is not uncommon for men to keep growing after that age.

I agree. For me i think Lebron, Magic Johnson and the british host Richard Osman more of a legit 6'7, Scottie Pippen maybe a wee bit lower like 6'6.75" when standing next to 6'4.85 Michael Jordan. At times Pippen could also look legit 6'7.

Very true! My older brother was a legit 6'7-6'7.25" and he often get guess up to 6'9 tall. One point to add. Most probably most 6'7 claim actor may not be a full 6'7 in this site.

Whatever height he is out of bed is what height he is. That's a person's full height before compression. That's why the NBA measures wisely in the morning. I'm guessing James is 6'7" 1/4 to 1/2 without shoes early in day.

I have just seen James looking like the whopping great giant he is on the Ellen DeGeneres show!
She had him play a game; when doesn't she? The object of the game was to throw little balls into some fairly reasonable sized buckets - but on a moving target! If one missed, the other had to take a shot of vodka! They ended up something like 50/50! You should have seen the basketball player's face when he tasted the beverage! You could tell he doesn't have time in his busy day for tasting alcohol normally!

@J-Dog: I see where you're coming from. I'd believe he is taller had I not seen him with deandre Jordan. Jordan is a margin taller than him in the pic below. I believe 6'9.5 prob tho not much less or may be same height poss. The 6'10.75 prob shoes which makes him the 6'11 he claims and everyone else claims he is

Durant actually looks 6'9.25 like Rob had him listed in the pic that Warren posted with DJ. DJ is 1/4-1/2" taller than DJ is so KD is 206-207 which makes him almost 6'11 in sneakers 6'10 3/4. Other possibility is DJ is 6'9.5 and KD 6'9" but that's for another day since most are allergic to downgrading even tho people lie down stretch etc. either way If KD is 6'9 and change Lebron comes out around the 200 or at absolute most a full 6'7" at his lowest as KD is about 6 or 7 cm taller than he is (somewhere between).

Odd thing is that he can at times appear much much taller than Draymond Green. Other times it's closer but I guess I easily believe that Green is just 6'5" like Steve Kerr and Alvin Gentry have both said.

He doesn't ever look a full inch taller than Carmelo Anthony which is why I believe his saying that he wasn't measured after he surpassed 6'6" and don't believe he was measured for the draft unless it was at a different time than Melo was. Melo is 198.5-199 he's not more 200 at his low maybe a full 6'7" at most

I stood next to him at a Restaurant and my wife and other people around and with us said he's 1.5-2" (4-5cm) taller than me. I saw the same. So likely more like 1.75 ish. I am 193.9cm at my lowest for what it's worth. He's for sure a full 6'6" maybe as high as 6'6.25 but likely somewhere in between 6'6 1/8 maybe lowest. His pre draft is 6'6.25 so close enough but remember most are taken earlier in the day and if he measured 198.3 which is like 6'6.05-.10 they'd automatically give him the 1/4 because they round up (that I know for sure as there are no 1/8" increments). They also do throw a .75" on some people but not these two guys. But for what it's worth I do agree with you Lebron is 2cm or at worst 1/2" taller than melo is. Editor Rob no basketball player will be measured at their low, unless they had an all nighter the day before the combine...and since they do the measurements reasonably early, I think many will still drop another fraction or more.
Saying that, always a chance some 18-19 gained a bit more, Lebron really looks a big 6ft 7-7.5 ranger.

He also met Beal tho and said Beal is his height 6'3 or slightly taller (he may actually have grown). Remember SJH also met Wall and said he's under 6'2" in person.

I just don't understand the obsession with downsizing extremely tall people. They have less reason to lie than normal sized folks. There are some people who are determined to make Shaq less than 7'0 as well. I don't get it. As for Lebron, I believe the 6'7.25"(+) because they have to have physicals to even get cleared, and height is a part of that. That's how they determine if guys have weird issues like two different leg lengths, oversized hearts, etc. He may refuse his family doctor, but a high schooler trying to get into the NBA would have to submit. He was 6'6 our senior year, and i was like a weak 6'8 at the time, he has a picture with Lebron and Lebron has him by no less than 1.75 inches, and even on draftexpress the guy is listed at 6'6.
