I agree dmeyer he must have had some serious lifts in Gangs of New York, and the same for the upcoming Blood Diamond. In the trailer he looks almost the same height as the 6ft3 Hounsou, who I saw in a restaurant a year ago, and though I couldn't get up close to him I'd say he was at least between 6ft2 and 6ft3.

in the movie catch me he looked the same height than hanks possibly small lift since the height differance is not mush between them i think hanks look 3 cm taller because of his military posture but the differance might be only 2 cm it is funny because i worked with hanks on terminal and my friends on the set told me that i was the same height as hanks within 1 or 2 cm so he is about 6feet but then dicaprio came on the set and they told me he was way taller than me and hanks like 6'1 6'2 i guess because he is thin dicaprio can look 6'1" in lifts also hanks looks 6'1 in pics because of posture so like 183 183.5 barefoot

Since roughly 6 months ago, I have grown an inch. It is highly possible that since Glenn's photo, Leo has grown. I'd put him at a 5'11" barefoot. With dress shoes, he is probably about 6' 0.5", with about 2 and 1/2 inches on Gisele Bundchen in the following photo. Supposing she's wearing 4 - 5 inch heels (bringing her up about 2 inches taller, so 6' even), Leo has about 1/2 and inch on her. I took a girl to prom who was 5' 8", and in dress shoes I was 6' so, I had about 1 inch over her (she was wearing 5 inch heels, so she was about 5'11). I still think Leo is 5'11". Click Here

just an observation, if Depp is 5'9; Leo was still growing at the time of Gilbert Grape; you can see he's shorter than Depp in shots completely early in production and taller in ones late. In Titanic he was abount an inch shorter than 6' Billy Zane and three inches shorter than 6'2" David Warner. I've seen all three actors and can say without reservation that DiCaprio is my height or 5'11, Zane is an inch taller or 6' and David Warner who I had the opportunity to meet and talk with when he was shopping at a Century City bookstore is 6'2". DiCaprio doesn't look like he weighs more than about 150 lbs soaking wet.

I think believe it or not,that in the movie "The Basketball Diaries" he appeared to be atleast 6'0"...and in titanic he seemed shorter.It's all in the type of shoes he wears and the clothes,i'm 17 and i'm 5'10" and when i was 15 i looked taller than 5'10" sometimes because of the clothes and shoes

He's AT LEAST 6'1". In a photo in the Boston Globe last year, Leo towered over Matt Damon, and he's definately taller than Billy Zane. Also, in Gangs of New York, he looks almost as tall as Daniel Day Lewis.

Sorry Jake, I have to concur. Shoe size and height are not correlative. My godson is 15 and 5-9 and wears a size 12. A friend of mine is 6-3 and wears a 9.5 or 10. My cousin is 20 and 6 foot, and wears a size 13. There is no clear relationship between feet and height.

Check out wireimage and go back some pages to that event with sean Penn and Al Gore. Leo looks about 2 inches shorter than Al, so I guess Leo is at least 5'11

i just saw someting very interesting in the making of the aviator jude law and dicaprio are standing next to each other and jude is about 1 to 2 cm taller so dicaprio is no way over 6 feet but jude law is taller than i thaught maybe pushing 6'1''

But there is a scene when they are in the hangar with Hughes discussing his big plans, and the camera pulls back, and there is a 2 inch difference. I think they minimized the height differential for the close up shots, but forgot for the distance shots.

Tom Hanks has said that's he's about 6 feet with normal shoes on before in an interview. In the 2002 film Catch Me If You Can, Hanks is clearly taller than Dicaprio. Of course several people that have worked with Dicaprio claim that he wers lifts. So he is probably 5'11" and is wearing 2 or 3 inch lift shoes.

I know this because there was once an interview with his former "girlfriend" Giselle and in it she admitted that DiCaprio is shorter than her when both are barefoot. She also said that she herself measured him and he's 5'10 1/2" with no shoes.

dear editor why you have listed leo at 5ft 11.5in? the pics which are at the bottom, with gisele and james cameron proof that hes not over 5ft 11in.
actually i think gisele is 5ft 10in, from the pics i have seen. if im generously i would say hes 5ft 10.5in. Because mostly their are the same heights.
