Jordan being shorter would make what he did even more impressive but considering Pippen's hair I don't see over 2 inches
Aphrodite said on 21/May/07
Annonymous,

It seems you are the only one who thinks Pippen is not taller by more than 2 inches in that picture. Just take a look at their shoulder even Pippen was leaning a bit. Maybe you are blinded by your too much love to your hero, Jordan.
Anonymous said on 20/May/07
I don't see that because I am considering Pippen's big hair.

This is the best picture you'll get and it shows MJ at 6'5 1/2-6'6 next to 6'7 Scottie Pippen

I still say 6'5 1/2 for Jordan...that's what he looks like next to Pippen and Barkley

Sounds 100 percent accurate to me Derek.

My dad is 6'3 1/2" and he said MJ is 6'5" tops. He also said Dennis Rodman is 6'6" and Scottie Pippen is 6'7", though the '92 Olympics had him at 6'5 3/4".

he is so so tall and need to lose weight with that 4.75in. and the (195cm).please because i don't like people to be that tall like you!!!!!
Alex said on 10/May/07
Jordan could be as low as 6'4 and as high as 6'5, depending on how big his sneakers were when he got measured. He really doesn't look as short as 6'4 to me. I think he's gotta be like 6'5.
basketball23 said on 8/May/07
MJ was listed at the 92 olympics at 193 cm without shoes but i think his airness is about 194-195 cm...
John T said on 8/May/07
NBA players very often list themselves a tad taller than they actually are (for one reason, the taller they're perceived the more financially marketable they are). For most players, you can best estimate their real height by subtracting an inch or so from their listed height. Based on these comments, I guess that's even true for King Jordan.

I really wish people on internet movie data base would stop changing his height from 6'5" back to 6'6". It's getting annoying.
lillo thomas said on 3/May/07
some people can look shorter or taller than they really are it just depends
of the body frame. in the case of jordan i asume that he is about 6'5 until
i see him in person because most players in nba are listed in their height in shoes.
Tom said on 2/May/07
I believe he can be 6-6. Because I'm 6-6 as well, and most people say that I'm 6-4. Maybe he just looks smaller.

Jordan is 6'5 1/2 which is the same as Bryant and Carter and an inch shorter than McGrady
Shmuel said on 24/Apr/07
Michael Jordan is 6'5 1/2. Because Scottie Pippen is 6'7 1/2 & pippen is every bit of 2 inches taller then Michael Jordan. Dennis Rodman is slightly under 6'7 and is about 1 inche and 1/2 over Michael Jordan. So it's safe too say Michael Jordan's height is about 6'5 or 6'5 1/2, but no shorter or taller then that
edd said on 9/Apr/07
MJ is 6-5 exact(barefoot). I saw a pic of him standing next to kobe. Kobe is about a quarter of an inch taller than Jordan. I guess kobe is 6-5 1/4 barefoot then.

i saw Michael Jordan he was visiting RIMINI in italy entering the hotel and managed to get his autograph, to be honest he was about 3cm taller than me.
keep in my i'm 6'4 so 6'5 in shoes, if he is 6'5 then 6'6 with shoes.

I bumped into Michael Jordan at a Starbucks on L St, N.W. about four years ago now--the period of time when he was with the Wizards, whatever that was. To my shock, and the shock of those with me, I was exactly the same height as the man himself--possibly even a hair taller. I am exactly 6'4.5", and we were both wearing leather-soled dress shoes. There is no way on God's green earth that he is the 6'6" he was listed at in the NBA. The 6'5" of his college stats seems more reasonable....

I agree with A_Guy. If he was indeed 6'4, then the fact that he dominated everyone in the league and is that much more impressive.

I work for ISU Athletics and about a month ago Doug Collins (former Bulls coach) came down for the bradley game. Doug is a solid 6'6. 'Old school' 6'6 you might say and in pics MJ looked about in hair shorter than Doug and Doug himself told me that Michael was more 6'5 than 6'6 but close enough.

Tall people who have stood next to Jordan say he isn`t under 6`5. I will ask my cousin (1`94) again how tall he looked to him in 1996. He said Jordan was his height. All this taalk of 1`92 for Joran sounds like a joke to me
A_Guy said on 13/Mar/07
I believe that he is 6'4" or 6'5". I discovered this page because I wondered if people noticed that he isn't 6'6" as well. I remember that when he returned to basketball during the mid-nineties, I was shocked at how small he appeared, even when he stood near players who were listed at 6'6". If he is 6'4", his accomplishments are only that much more impressive.

first, jordan listed 6'6' in nba cause his shoes on, without is 6'5'. I can't realize how many guys here put him at 6.3.5, for second why rodman should be shorter than scottie? I saw many bulls games in the past never looked to me any difference, they are in the same range of height, perhaps dennis got 1cm on scottie or two. In shoes they are in the 6'8' mark.°_°

Duhon said on 20/Feb/07
I am 90% certain jordan is actually 6'5". i don't know where the 6'4" mark comes from? Dwyane wade is a legit 6'4" and jordan always looks taller comparativly to how wade looks next to his peers. as for brady nfl heights are very accurate.
sean said on 20/Feb/07
i don't know if anyone saw the michael jordan celebrity golf invitational on tv the other day but one of the scenes had jordan standing next to tom brady on a level ground and he was easily an inch taller than him. brady is legit 6'4 (he supposely measured at 6'4.25 at an nfl camp) and jordan clearly had at least an inch on him. if jordan is really 6'4.5 like some of you claim him to be, i don't think there would have been much of a height differential at all. i am not saying jordan is 6'6, but my guess is that he has to be at least 6'5. too bad i can't provide at photos to prove my point but i am just reporting what i saw.

6'4", 6'5", 6'7", 6'6" and 6'4" but as I say almost everytime: it's just my personal modest opinion! Most likely I'm wrong since I've never been in the states or even met one of these men in person. The only thing I did I spoke about two years ago with an italian nba commentator and asked him how tall are MJ and Shaq and he answered me: 214 cm for Shaq and then he said to me exactly that Jordan is between 190 cm and 195 cm about 192-3 cm cause he saw him in person more than once

6'5 is correct. That is his Olympic listing and he looks 6'5 next to 6'9 Karl Malone.
Derek said on 14/Feb/07
I don't get it either. My dad met MJ and he said 6'5", and considering my dad is a tad under 6'4", he can tell. It's not like he's 5'10" and over half a foot shorter. The Olympics measure them barefoot, and the 1992 Olympics has MJ at 6'5". Oddly enough, they had Scottie Pippen at 6'5 3/4".

I will say this again. My cousin was a professional basketball player, listed 1`94. And I can tell you he is that tall; I am still surprised at how tall he looks to me everytime I see him. He attended NBA finals in 1996 and he had the chance to see most of the players. He told me they were all much shorter than what he expected. He said Jordan was his height. That means in my opinion that Jordan was probably a tad taller but never shorter than him. I think Jordan is 1`95. To say MJ is 1`92 makes no sense to me. He towered over Morgan Freeman and Freeman is still close to 1`88 this days. 1`95 for Jordan seems accurate to me.
Talking about other guys: Robinson looked at least 2`13 next to at least 2`18 Arvidas Sabonis. In 1986 World Championship he was listed 2`11 but he didn´t look 7 or 8 cms shorter than Sabonis. Ans remember Robinson entered College at 2 meters. He still grew afterwards

195 cm is the best estimate for Jordan, I think all the picture evidence 194 cm min and 196 cm max. I think He's also a fraction of an inch taller than Barkley.

Hey Edu, what was the heights given for the other US players? I agree on 6-4 3/4 being correct.
Edu said on 2/Dec/06
Yes, i agree with the editor and with Doug. Michael Jordan is 6'4.75'' .And after have watched some more games of the "Dream Team" i'm 99.9% convinced that Jordan and Barkley have the same height, when they are together is impossible to distinguish who's taller...also Jordi Villacampa (Spain) and Drazen Petrovic (Croacia) are easily seen as at least as tall as Michael, sometimes they seem a bit taller...

Editor Rob
I think the 195cm as the olympics give is probably bang on accurate, add the 1.25 and there you have the 6ft 6 listing...
Edu said on 1/Dec/06
I've just watched the Spanish broadcast of some USA games in the 1992 Olympics at Barcelona and at the beginning of each game, when in the screen appears the initial line up, it is given the height of the players and, well, it seems that the American players were measured there in Spain...Michael Jordan height appears as 1.95m (which equals 6'4), so at least for me, Michael is definitively 2 inchs "shorter" than its listed NBA height. cheers

Editor Rob
1.95m is closer to 6ft 4 and 3/4.
Alex said on 21/Nov/06
Don't sometimes the basketball is only listed an inch above his barefoot height? I know some sneakers will only give an inch rather than 1.25-1.5 inches.
For example a guy who is 6'1 is 6'2 in sneakers they'll just list him at 6'2. Say if he's 6'1 barefoot then 6'2.25 in sneakers, now would he be listed at 6'2 or 6'3? I know they would round up but 6'2.25 is closer to 6'2 than 6'3.

Jordan I believe could very well be 6'5 barefoot and just listed an inch over his barefoot height. He does look a solid 6'5 guy.
Doug said on 16/Nov/06
6'4.75" is the best estimate.
Ozzy said on 15/Nov/06
HF: Agree to a certain point. But if you check recent year's rookie measurements, I came to the conclusion that the tallest a player measured at 6-7 is, is 6-6, that is, an inch shorter... a list of players measured at 6-6.5 (1,99m) wo shoes (Carmelo Anthony, Udonis Haslem, Adam Morrison, Ike Diogu) are all listed at 6-8 (2,03)... it seems to be trend to give a player his with-shoe-height, which in most cases seem to be an inch, and then round up.. it also depends which shoes the player is wearing, socks, insoles, etc... think I posted the NBA's policy on rounding up some time ago..
Edu said on 13/Nov/06
Hi

i don't know if anybody here has the "Ultimate Jordan" 2xDVD set, or more exactly the Jordan documentary "Air Time". I was watching it and suddenly there is a piece on the Dream team in the 1992 Olympics where Jordan and Barkley and just side by side chatting and i think it's almost the proof that those two guys have the same height. Charles looks sometimes not so tall maybe because he's much more "large" than Jordan. Everybody who owns the video can check what i'm saying by searching the images correspondent to the instants 41 minutes and 29 seconds. I have also a magazine, "Pro Basketball - The 50 Greatest", where it say that the real height (they use the word "real") of Barkley is 6'4. I bet that Jordan has at the most 1.96m. Please check the video.
Gonzalo said on 13/Nov/06
Jordan is 1`95 meters. 1`98 with shoes on. What more evidence you need after the pics with Ronaldinho or Materazzi? Anyway, wether he is 6`4, 6`5 or 6`5 he was the best player in History
Height Freak said on 12/Nov/06
On the full body pic with Barcelona football star Ronaldinho (who´s for certain 1.80m/1.81m tall), Jordan looks around 18 to 20 cm taller than him.

There´s certainly more accuracy in meters/centimeters than feet/inches, no every players height in feet and inches is exactly that. I know the NBA sets player´s height within a certain range: for example, a 6´6" player can be anyone who is in between 1.97m and 2.00m tall. So the height 6´6" has a this kind of range: <1.97m-1.98m-1.99m-2.00m> ()

But then again sometimes a player who is 2.00m tall can be set to 6´7", just because 2.00m is close enough to 2.01m. This is the reason for the so called "legit" and "non-legit" feet and inches heights. You never really know until you see the player in real life or in pic next to a person who you really know their height.

About the pic with Marco Materazzi (listed at 193cm), I´m not certain. I´ve seen Materazzi next to fellow italian goalkeeper Francesco Toldo (1.95m/1.96m) and they´re pretty much the same height, so perhaps Materazzi is slightly taller at 1.94m or 1.95 m. So in that case Jordan would be a legit 6´6" guy (probably on the short side of the range).

@mask

About the video, it seems that MJ himself doesn´t know for sure how tall Charles is! At the start of the video he mentions 1983 and refers to Barkley at about 6´"6. Then, he talks again about 1983 and talks about 6´4" (both Barkley and him). Later on when talking about Barkley guarding Kevin McHale he mentions (6´4"/6´5") and finishes metioning "A 6´5" guy".

1983--> A long time ago. I know that both Jordan and Barkley grew an inch (more or less) from their sophomore year at college to their rookie year at the nba. So I wouldn´t say that 6´6" is inaccurate for MJ.
RP said on 9/Nov/06
at the 1984 NBA rookie camp, Jordan was measured at 6-4 and 7/8 with out shoes. And weighed in at 196-lbs. So, with his sneakers on, he would have been right at 6-6. he also bulked up to 215-220 lbs in the mid-90's. at his last season with Washington he was 232-lbs.

I saw Michael in Newport Beach, CA walking along the beach barefoot and he was only 5'10" MAX. It's obvious his Jordan's give him an extra 2" and then he wears 4-5 inch lifts in those to give him his guestimated height. I saw him later that evening at an outdoor barbeque. He was wearing platformed flipflops. He was marginally taller than me at around 6'0" flat. You guys have to re-assess your estimations of him and his height needs to be corrected on this site. My ex-girlfriend works for the Nike's Advertisement Department and I was lucky enough to meet a lot of NBA players before we broke up. I'm not sure how tall Jordan is...I met him 2 years ago but couldn't get a true grasp because it happened so fast and I'm only 6'1. I can definitely say he's taller than 6'4. But the NBA absolutely overstats the height of a lot of their players. For example, I met Bobby Jackson a few years back when he was on the Kings and he was noticably shorter than me. He's listed at 6'1 and I would say he's more about 5'10.5 or 5'11 at the most. I met Devon Harris of the Mavs just a couple months back and he is not taller than 6'0 even though he's listed at 6'3. Ben Gordan of the Bulls seriously seemed to be around 5'11...and he's listed at 6'3 also. I was really surprised at how short he was when I met him in NYC. I could be off an inch or so but he was definitely shorter than me. Mike Bibby seemed a legit 6'1 though...I met him at a niketown earlier this summer.

KINGCARL said on 3/Sep/06
rodman was never listed at 6'9.the tallest he was listed at was 6'8. jordan is probably 6'4 1/2 because the NBA lists a lot of players two inches taller than they are. For instance, Nate Robinson is only 5'7 3/4, but the NBA list him at 5'9.
Randy said on 1/Sep/06
Come on Louie that pic you have isn't an accurate showing of how tall Jordan is. Just look at their feet. The camera angle makes it look as if Rodman's feet are about 4 inches above Jordan's which obviously isn't the case. So obviously because of the camera angle this is not evidence we should use to determine Jordan's real height. All the times I've seen them close up Jordan looks close to Rodman's height so I'd say 6'5" isn't a bad guess if Rodman is really 6'6".
Anonymous said on 27/Aug/06
that picture is not accurate at all! rodman and jordan aare standing on 2 opposite sides.. u cant tell whos taller from there.. come on.

Viper652 said on 15/Aug/06
You overestimated Rodman by an inch Brad. That is easy to do for a guy as tall as Rodman. A legit 6-6 guy can look 6-8 easily to a lot of people.

The NBA listed Kobe as 6'7'' once, which is not true, and Dennis Rodman was 6'7'', definitely not 6'6''. This is the only website that says that MJ is 6'5''. I will never be convinced that he is. He's definitely taller than John Corbett who's listed as 6'5''. I mean come on, it's Michael Jordan. He's been listed 6'6'' ever since he started playing basketball in the NBA. Every website agrees with me.

Kobe is listed as 6'6'' on this web-site, and he looked as tall as Mike when he was still playing, so Mike is 6'6'', not 6'5''.

Man MJ is 6'6'' legit. Pippen was always taller than Jordan, and if I remember correctly, he always looked taller than Michael. The height difference depended on the camera angel you saw them in. MJ was Kobe's height when they played each other too.

To 6'5 project dude- First of all I did measure myself correctly and I am 6'4 5/8. Your theory of MJ being 6'5 1/2 is obviously wrong because MJ is smaller than myself. You say you see him like every week, somehow I find that hard to believe so I doubt the validity of your story! Just accept the fact that Jordan is under 6'5. I don't know what you keep crying about. If he did what he did at about 6'4 instead of 6'6 how much more of a better player does that make him? As Jordan's measurement was in dress shoes and I was in Running Sneakers I would put Jordan at about 6'4 1/2!
6'5 project dude said on 30/Jul/06

I just measured myself without shoes. I call myself 6'5 but I just measured 10 minutes ago at 6'4 5/8. I put a pencil on the top of my head and made a mark on the wall. I did it several times to make sure the pencil was level. I saw Clyde Drexler in Kansas City Airport and I was in a line right behind him. He was atleast an inch or 2 taller than me. The Vegas Statue deal is crap and I told them so. The manager took me over to a mark on a wall in red ink. He said that it was Jordan's and that he was wearing dress shoes. It was shorter than me by atleast an inch but I had on Running sneakers. I'm quite confused.

Phil Jackson: 6'8.25" (listed at 6'8")
Scottie Pippen: 6'7.5" (listed at 6'7")
Charles Barkley: 6'5.25" (listed at 6'6")
Magic Johnson: 6'8.25" (listed at 6'9")
Patrick Ewing: 6'11.5" (listed at 7')
Wayne Gretzkey: 6'1" (listed at 5'10")
Dennis Rodman: 6'7" (listed at 6'8")

Well, if phil really is 6-8 then, I've seen him listed at 6-7, but if he is then I believe 6-5+ may be correct as bballshoes gives more lift than the dress shoes phil wears. if phil is 6-7 jordan would be 6-4+

Howard Stern posed with Magic Johnson both were the same height!....BUT Stern claims 6'5"....and made more than a few asides about Magic "fibbing". Jordan looks 6'4" flat, Bird (met him face to face twice)a really solid 6'8". It's funny when the Klitschko boxing brothers were on TBDSSP only John Salley didn't really get up noticably to greet them...perhaps he would appear a little too close for comfort to their honestly stated heights 6'6.5" & 6'8.25" when he claims 6'11+"?

pictures can be deceiving but if that picture is telling the truth, it makes Jordan look in the 6'4.5 range. Magic Johnson and Larry Bird are both listed at 6'9 and Bird looks to have a good 2 inches on him in that photo making Magic actually 6'7.

Editor Rob
it is slightly tricky, in so much as bird is a little closer. This might effect it 1cm, but tellingly both jordan/magic appear similar distance...

if Pippen is just 6ft 6, then yes he looks 6ft 4.5ish, but then, he looks 6ft 5 if freeman is only scraping 6ft 2...

there was a pic of him and that old terrell fella, unfortunately he was closer to camera...

Well, there was another shot in Morgan Freeman`s height page. I always thought (and agree with you Rob) that Freeman was 6`3 barefoot. Jordan was 6`6 with shoes on; that would make 6`5 barefoot. I said in this page that my cousin said that Jordan was as tall as him (a little bit under 6`5). Well, in this pic Jordan looks 3 or 4 inches taller, so what`s going on? I think Freeman is very tall, at least 6`2 this days.
And the same happens with Michael Clarke Duncan. He looks shorter thatn Dwayne Wade (listed 6`4); I guess in this case posture has a lot to do with it. And he looks slightly shorter than Kobe Bryant, listed 6`6 with shoes on.

Now there is at least a 1.5 inch difference and a maximum of 2 inches between JORDAN AND PIPPEN. Pippens barefoot height was measured by the olympics at 6'5.75 (Thus, add 1 inch for shoes and he's listed at 6'7 in the NBA). This makes Jordan at very most 6'4.25" and it also means Jordan could be a minimum of 6'3.75".

Look, Even if you asssume Pippen slouched 1/2 an inch at the olympics (BY the way... this is fairly difficult to do..Try it some time when measuring yourself) then that would make Jordan a maximum of 6'4.74" - and a minimum of 6'4.25"

i am 6'5 barefoot . I can get away sayin that i am 6'6 but no if i say that i am 6'7 or 6'8 . nba players height are in shoes and basquetball tenis usually add 1 to 1.5 inches . 6'6 minus 1 or 1.5 inches is 6'4.5 to 6'5 . So jordan height must be about 6'5 minimum 6'4.5

Actually, I think people wouldn't notice. Only people about that tall would really see it. Average Us Male height is 5'9.1 inches and only 4.0% of the population is over 6'2. 6'3.5 actually makes sense. Morgan Freeman and Jordan. Freeman stands 6'1-maybe 6'1.5 today. And jordan seriously appears no more than 2-2.5 inches taller.
deepestvoice said on 3/May/06
I don't buy Jordan being 6'3.5. He might be 6'4.5 and with shoes close to 6'6. But there's no way people wouldn't notice that big of a difference in his listed height and his actual height.
Quad-4 said on 2/May/06
something's really weird with these b-ball heights. Players seem to get boosted up all the time. But Jordan's height seems well exaggerated. 6'6 is really hard to buy. I could accept 6'4 reluctantly.
Tannim said on 2/May/06
Obviously, players in the NBA would benefit from the league thinking they are taller than they really are.
Hoopster said on 2/May/06
Jordan, in any shot, looks a MINIMUM 2.5 inches shorter than Pippen, and 3 inches shorter seems way more likely. The distance from your eye to your lips is 3 inches. Look at the shots below (Olympic shot in particular) with Jordan and Pippen. Jordan's eyes look like they are right at Pippens lips. Jordan, therefore, is 3 inches shorter than Pippen. Pippen probably isn't quite a full 6'7 at peak (morning height). WHY, do i say this?. Because the NBA takes height measurements in the mornings AND ROUNDS UP, so 6'7 is likely rounded from Pippen's 6'6.5 morning height. The olympics measured Pippen at 6'5.75 , which is 'probably' a later in the day figure. Im guessing it's fair to say Pippen stands at an average of about 6'6 through the day. This puts Jordan at a surprisingly low 6'3.5 average as a maximum estimate and 6'3.0 average as a minimum estimate. Another piece of evidence to support this height is the photo with wayne gretzgy. Even if you assume Gretzgy is 6'0 even. Then Jordan would seem about 6'4 max. Truth is Gretzgy is probably like 5'11 and that makes jordan 6'3. Wow am I surprised :)

I think a solid 6'4 or maybe 6'4.5 is right for him. I'm around 6'3.5 and I could never get away with saying I'm 6'6. Charles Barkley is probably right on 6'4 or a little over. They are both listed at that falsified height of 6'6 and Jordan is a tad taller than Barkley.
TallSolution said on 30/Apr/06
Obviously, the olympics in '92 got him right at 6'3.5. All player NBA heights that I personally know are downgraded on the olympic listings. Example, Pippen's measured well shy of the 6'7 NBA quote at 6'5.75.
deadman said on 30/Apr/06
hey jake, don't worry bro, i know you're right for sure buddy. i am from chicago, and during the second of the bulls 3peats, i went to every single preseason luncheon. mj was not much taller than steve kerr who actually is a legit 6'3....

I met MJ last year in Barcelona in the Moto GP at Montmelo, I'm 1.91 m and he was like 1.97-8 for sure (we were both wearing similar sneakers).
Jake said on 28/Apr/06
I would no doubt beleive the Olympic listings if I could see proof. But in the mean time I'm going to keep with my theory of 6'7" for Pippen and a good 6'4.5" for Jordan. I have to admit I'm suprised he is still listed 6'5.5" here. I thought my pics showed that he was under 6'5".
Viper652 said on 28/Apr/06
Scottie Pippen is without a doubt 6-7. Its funny, when he was on TNT's NBA show he looked 7-0 with a low camera angle!!! I think Jordan is 6-5, maybe 6-4.5. No lower the that.
Ken said on 27/Apr/06
Im sorry. In that picture below (jordan giving peace sign - Olympics?) Jordan looks about 3 inches shorter than pippen. (This is a pretty good shot by the way.) If Pippen is 6'7 on the nose, jordan is 6'4 indeed. I still feel pippen isn't really 6'7. The olympics, as stated below, measured him at 6'5.75 - and the olympics would seem to be accurate. So, Yeah 6'3.5 (w/o shoes) for jordan is a possibility.
Ken said on 27/Apr/06
I agree w/most peeps on this site. Jordan was never 6'6. Personally, I think he was MAX 6'4. This is assuming Pippen is 6'7 even. There is good picture below(with jordan giving the peace sign). If Pippen is 6'7 Jordan might even be as low as 6'3.5".

Hey Rob mask speaking look at these photos and tell me honestly MJ is a legit 6'6" or even 197 cm if you can come on Pippen is at least 5 cm taller than MJ and Bird has good 10 cm on him so if Scottie is 6'6" and Bird 6'9" as they were measured barefeet in Barcellona 1992 olympic games no way MJ is over 195 cm according to me 192-4 cm don't you think so?I mean Jordan is always the best but here we discuss about his height not about his talent personally I'd feel great if I could say I'm 6'3 1/2" and do the things that Jordan does don'y you?

Still convinced Jordan is 6'6"!?Rob please you cannot say Mj is 197 cm he is 194 cm if not less look at him back to back with Pippen there are at least 6-8 cm differential and at least 10 cm with Bird come on please!

Honestly I'm not convinced about Barkley being quite that tall. Jordan doesn't have much height on him, only .5" tops.

I don't think Jordan can be lower than 6'5". Charles Barkley is 6'4.75" and Jordan always looked a good bit taller, by about an inch.
Lone said on 20/Apr/06
I agree with Jake, Jordan was never a full 6-6 without shoes.
Jake said on 20/Apr/06
Brett: if you look at the pictures & comments I've posted below, you will see that I think he was definantly not 6'6", and very likely not even a full 6'5". I think barefoot he was about 6'4.5" and with shoes near 6'6". I don't know if he has lost any height due to shrinkage now, I've basically assumed that this was about his peak height.
Gonzalo said on 19/Apr/06
My cousin was a basketball player and he was listed 1`94 cm (he looks huge to me). He was lucky enough to see the whole NBA Finals 1996. He saw jordan several times and he said they were the same height. It makes sense. Jordan was listed 6`6 with shoes on, so he as 1`95 barefoot, the same height as my cousin.
Jake said on 18/Apr/06
Jordan has to be under 6'5".

hey editor rob, if michael clarke duncan can say he's 6-5 when he's only 6-2ish, then sure rodman can claim he's 6-8. but pippen was taller than rodman and he's listed at 6-7, hmmmmm. rodman is 6-6, pippen 6-7, jordan 6-4.
deepestvoice said on 17/Apr/06
Seeing those pictures from Jake just confirmed what I already knew. That Jordan is not 6'6. He never looked it. I'll give him a good 6'4.5 or maybe 6'5. But I can't see anything over that for him.
Jake said on 14/Apr/06
Here are more pictures which suggest Jordan to not be as tall as he is listed:
Wayne Gretzky is 5'10" (first picture)
Pippen is 6'7" (second picture)

no, Dennis Rodman himself confirmed he's 6-6, and he's listed at that height at numerous places. He's no taller than 6-6.

Leung, Pippen is listed as 6-7, based on that photo, do you think there is only 1 inch separating him and Jordan??? Come on now.

Editor Rob
he also still says he's 6ft 8, he said it a few months ago on big brother...but of course beside the guy who was 6ft 5 he didn't look it!
Jason said on 13/Apr/06
Sing, I did convince Rob to downgrade Jordan from 6'6'' to 6'5'' a while back, but he's since been brought up a notch to 6'5 1/2''. I think because people were arguing Dennis Rodman was over 6'6'' based on his appearance on UK Big Brother.
sing said on 11/Apr/06
yeh, i think it's time for editor rob to change jordan's height???
Leung said on 11/Apr/06
I tend to think that Jordan was a legit 6'6" because during his playing days he was always distinctly taller than his opponents that were 6'4". . In fact, in terms of size MJ could match up with the oppositions team's SF most nights.

Jake said on 10/Apr/06
If we use Pippen as a point of reference, I can only draw the following conclusions: If Pippen was 6'8" as he was listed in his later days, Jordan would be about 6'5.5". If Pippen was 6'7" as he was listed for most of his career, Jordan would be about 6'4.5". If Pippen was really struggling with 6'6" as some people say, Jordan would be about 6'3.5". I personally tend to believe that Pippen was 6'7" like he was listed for most of his career, making Jordan about 6'4.5", give or take a little.
sing said on 9/Apr/06
agreed, 6-4 or 6-4.5 sounds about right for Jordan since he's obviously shorter than both Rodman and Pippen, who are both legit 6-6 guys barefooted.
Jason said on 9/Apr/06
Yes, Jordan's about 6'4 1/2''/194cm.
deadman said on 9/Apr/06
guys, mj is definitely 6'4.5. if he weren't, scottie would be like 6'9. scottie also had an inch on dennis. also, i am wearing a pair of jordan cross trainers. they give me almost as much height as my wolverine work boots. not saying that all jordan brand shoes give you that much height, but i do know that basketball shoes in general vary in the amount of height they give you. i wear and 1 shoes or New Balance shoes to play ball and they only give me an inch. i wear some crappy Reeboks sometimes too, and they give me an inch and a half. going further(i have a lot of basketball shoes if you couldn't tell!), i have a pair of cheapy shoes that give me an inch and three quarters and then i have a pair of nikes that give me an inch and a quarter. this can also be proven by looking at the official nba draft player measurements that someone linked in the allen iverson section. this shows some guys getting as much as an inch and three quarters from their shoes.
Jake said on 8/Apr/06
Jordan is 6'4.5" - 6'5". He was listed at 6'6" because that was in his shoes. He was listed as 6'5" in college.
sing iz da man said on 6/Apr/06
as much as I idolize the man, he's not 6-6. Dennis Rodman is a legit 6-6 (although listed as 6-8 for much of his NBA career), and he is visibly taller than Jordan (photo below). I would give Jordan 6-5, max, most likely less...

ive worked for jordan a few times and he seemed every bit of 6'6. im a hair under 6 feet without shoes, he was a solid half foot taller. i dont think there is much debate
Ozzy said on 31/Mar/06
Agree. Pippen is dead on 6-7 (201 cm) I think (although I've heard claims that he is 6-5.5 bearfoot). Jordan at 194-96 cm seems right, as does:
Barkley at 193-95,
Clyde at 197-99,
Magic 202-204,
Ewing 209-11,
Shaq 212-15,
Lebron 200-202
Duncan 208-210
KG 210-212
I think an inch off the listed heights in most cases seems about right.
Jake said on 29/Mar/06
Everyone, I want you to know I am not the same Jake who said Jordan was 6'3".
But I still think he is a shade under 6'5".
Rodman is 6'6" - 6'6.5 Pippen is 6'7" (first picture)
Ewing is 6'10.5" (second picture)
Barkley is 6'4" - 6'4.5" (third picture)
Pippen is 6'7" Drexler is 6'5" - 6'5.5" (fourth picture)
Magic is 6'7.5" (fifth picture)

I think he is nearly 6'5", however, not quite. 195cm is an accurate height for him.

Wow. Can't believe this is being debated. I thought Jordan was the most famous 6'6" in the world!
aaa said on 27/Mar/06
jordan is no more than 6-5. 6-6 is his nba "with shoes on" height. If he woulld be 6-6 his nba height would be 6-7. its simple.
Jason said on 26/Mar/06
Lebron is 6'7'' minus shoes. 6'7 1/4'' is his measured height.
Anonymous said on 24/Mar/06
jordan is 6'6 because next to lebron at a charity game lebron looked exactly 2 incehes taller and they both had basketball shoes on, and lebron is 6'8 sooo?????
Alex said on 19/Mar/06
I don't see Jordan under 6'5. 6'5 to be exact he probably is plus shoes which makes the listing 6'6.
Jake said on 6/Mar/06
I see him more as a 195cm guy next to 6'6.5" Dennis Rodman and 6'4" - 6'4.5" Charles Barkley.
