I wouldn't argue with 6'1" flat but if I had to guess I'd go with 6'0.75". I also think there's a good chance that today 6'0.5" would be the right answer, actually. But at his peak he was closer to 6'1" than 6'0" (if not 6'1".) 6'0.5" in '23 though.

There was a fellow on The Chase today who was seriously into his films. His favourite is Quentin’s Pulp Fiction, and I feel sure that the writer and director would have felt very flattered to hear this. Also starring in it himself, alongside Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta, Mr Tarantino played a guy who wasn’t very happy when Jackson and Travolta turn up at his house with a dead body in their car, whose head had accidentally been shot to a pulp - by accident! Urghhhh!

Harvey Keitel’s expertise was then required…..

6ft1. I saw evidence of this in the film From Dusk Till Dawn, when he was on the run with his brother, played by George Clooney, and you see the two measured. It doesn’t sound like a funny theme, but there’s an awful lot of humour in it, even when they end up in a drinking den overrun by a hive of vampires!

Further to my comment on Jamie Foxx's page regarding Quentin's 're-writing of history' through his movies, how about 'Inglourious Basterds', a film in which Hitler perishes before he's done as much damage as he actually did, (well, 'all the rotten eggs in one basket', went up in flames), and then 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood', a film in which Sharon Tate and the other victims of the callous and evil Manson gang got to live out there lives?

It's nice to have fantasies and share them with the rest of the world!

I've heard that True Romance is the sweariest movie of all time but I think Tarantino's Pulp Fiction must come a very close second. I'm 39 minutes into the film for the umpteenth time and so far, I haven't stopped laughing!

Ian C., I agree...Jackie Brown was the last thoroughly decent Tarantino flick...it started to slowly go in a weird direction from Kill Bill onwards...Inglorious B, Hateful Eight, Django Unchained and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood are black comedies...the violence has gone past the point of grossing people out...it's just so dumb...and the liberties he took with Sharon Tate and Bruce Lee's portrayals were pretty low brow...a few scenes aesthetically looked incredible though...recreated that graininess of the 60's...and Damien Lewis's portrayal of Steve McQueen stole the show...but the movie doesn't hold up with Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, True Romance or Jackie Brown...I wish he went back to that type of noire...

As far as I'm concerned, Sandy, Tarantino made his last movie years ago,or at least the last one I was going to see. Except for Jackie Brown, Tarantino has never made a movie with a likeable character. His movies are gleeful celebrations of human indecency. Everybody in them is a vicious, sadistic crook, and the endless evil cruelty of the typical Tarantino movie just drove me away.

I remember when you were supposed to like the heroes of movies. My favorite example of this is the original Magnificent Seven. The Seven are just about the nicest, most decent hired killers you could ever want to meet. No swearing, neatly combed and barbered hair, clothes fresh from the laundry. And when they killed bandits it was always with one shot, and the bandits died instantly and painlessly, without any bleeding whatsoever, and then their corpses evaporated, so nobody had to bury them. Y'know? Movies about violent death were so nice, once upon a time.

I read on my phone the other day that Quentin is thinking of making his last film. Then I read on the same device that he might blow it out altogether, adding that many a writer/director's last film tends to be rubbish.

Quentin couldn't make a lousy film if he tried. Okay, so they're violent, but always interspersed with brilliant humour.

I'd be very upset if Quentin made that decision.

While watching Quentin's 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood', I noticed that there was an arrow with Mamas and the Papas' Michelle Phillips pointing towards the actress who played her. Next to her was situated Mama Cass, who did not receive an arrow.

Is that because Quentin expects his audience to be 'in the know' that a chubby, dark-haired lady near to slim Michelle simply HAS to be Cass Elliot? She weighed in at 238 pounds, around twice her ideal weight, and didn't mind having her size sung about in one of their songs.

Just another of Quentin's jokes, of course. Has anyone else cottoned on?

Well done to Quentin Tarantino for his excellent and absorbing new film, 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'.

I put it on the other night, for my first viewing, while I was very tired, and it woke me right up! It takes a particular type of film to do that - one that really gets the adrenaline pumping. Well, this did it for me, and with a cast which included Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, I felt optimistic about the movie on the grounds of its cast alone.

I noticed that Quentin is in the habit of using fictitious names in more than one of his masterpieces. We heard Harvey Keitel refer to a girl called Alabama in 'Reservoir Dogs' and she came to life in his 'True Romance'. This time round, it was the turn of Antonio Margaritez (**** knows how to spell it!), and this name was the one used by Eli Roth in 'Inglourious Basterds' when, along with Brad Pitt and another guy, he was pretending to the multilingual Christoph Waltz to be Italian upon German actress Diane Kruger's recommendation ("Germans don't have a good ear for Italian", she adds) and failing miserably! In the new film, Antonio Margaritez is cited as the name of a movie director. It did make me laugh because it prompted me to think back to 'Inglourious...' and the mannerisms Eli Roth uses, both facially and otherwise, to express himself.

Yes, it's not surprising that Quentin has met with the success he has, and he was a mere twentysomething when he wrote 'Reservoir Dogs'. I look forward to seeing many more of his films in the future.

He's getting the full 6ft1 this afternoon because there's only the one box. At 57, he might have lost a slither of height, but nothing unduly significant.

6'1¼ would be a bit too much for Tarantino, in my opinion. I recently saw a 2007 clip of him with Craig Ferguson, the 6'1½ comedian/host, and Tarantino looked a bit shorter than him. If he was a legitimate 186cm, I don't think that would have happened. I can buy 6'1⅛ for Quentin at the very most, making him a weak 186cm, but the current listing, in absence of an actual measurement, suits him just fine. Today he might fall a bit shy of 6'1, which is within expectations for a guy pushing 60.

I read on my phone this afternoon that the favourite of Quentin Tarantino's self-created characters is Hans Landa, as played by Christoph Waltz. Quentin speaks about how he steals every scene he's in, and having spent the weekend before last watching 'Inglourious Basterds' numerous times, I've got to agree with Quentin that he really and truly does! There are loads of great actors in the film, including Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Melanie Laurent and Eli Roth, but to be introduced to Christoph Waltz in this fashion had me interested in him immediately.

'Inglourious Basterds' was one of the Tarantino films that doesn't feature Quentin himself. He usually makes at least a cameo.

But no Quentin!

There are height opportunities galore, and the assurance that you'll want to see it again! I showed it to my Dad and he never complained when I stuck it on repeatedly during my stay with him back in 2005. I've read it's the sweariest movie ever made - well, at the time of my reading that fact it was! 😉

Quentin gets six one, but if he's said six two before, I reckon he was measured in the morning. I can't see him expanding on his height. He doesn't need to; he proved himself at a very young age. he can look a little under 6 foot 1 today i think he have lost 1/4. the strange thing is samuel l jackson doesnt look a mm over 185 with alexander skarsgård and recent photos with tarantino with samuel shows that samuel is taller than tarantino. I think barely 185 today and peak 185,5. But he have very bad posture so there is a fairly decent chanse he could be fraction taller than my estimate. But best listing is still 6 foot 1 peak. Soon with a current listing

I've been putting off writing about Quentin Tarantino because firstly, I've known his height for some time from various sources and secondly, I don't think anything I say could ever do him justice!
The first film of his that made me really sit up and take notice was 'Reservoir Dogs'. I liked the fact that he starred in it. I also adored the humour which turned an unfortunate tale into a black comedy. I have seen it so many times that I pretty much know it by heart.
All his movies come with dynamic soundtracks of music carefully chosen by Tarantino himself from his own music collection, I have heard.
I can't say a bad word about any of his work. The man fascinates me! He also goes out of his way to check out anyone he finds interesting, be it an actor or a director. Eli Roth is one such person. I listened with interest to their joint commentary for the film 'Hostel 2' and loved the comedic part Tarantino gave Eli Roth in his film 'Inglourious Basterds'. My boyfriend noticed that Wolf Creek's John Jarratt made a brief appearance in 'Django Unchained', a piece of information that bears out his interest in sniffing out the noteworthy new talent!
You can tell from his original masterpieces that this guy has a good heart and a sensational sense of humour. Fantastic and brilliant, I can't wait for his next project to come to fruition.

Even with awful posture, though, I am not sure a 6ft1 man would like that next to a man in the 5ft11 range.

It's hard to say what can be attributed to poor posture and what might be a drop to about 6ft0.5 range. In any case it's fair to say that Rob should keep an eye on him in the coming years.

I think Tarantino's a solid 6'1" but not really around 6'2"...I think the difference with Travolta can look anywhere in the 1-1.5 inch range and he can seem near an inch under Jackson. Wouldn't really go above 6'1.25" IMO for Tarantino.

Probably has less of a footwear boost at these premiers than actors, so a little taller than he looks beside them. His head and torso always seem really, really large, like in the John Wayne class. I think he is a weak 6'2'' with relaxed posture,

He used to get listed at 6ft3. It made sense to me at the time because Travolta was getting reported at 6ft2 and Willis at 6ft1. All that made me assume Samuel L. Jackson was 6ft4!

doesnt look is the key words. lots of people do not look 5'10 yet they are. lots of people dont look 6'2 yet they are. lots of people look 6'1 yet they are not. so as he he is fat now he will look a bit shorter most likely. he is close to 6'1. he probably lost a 1/4 inch.

His posture is horrible now, which is why he seems shorter. Of course there is a chance he's the kind of guy who has already lost a fraction by age 50, though could really look 186cm. I say 185.5-186cm "peak", today could be nearer 185cm flat(basically a wee fraction under 6'1 night) though again I say posture is to blame. And saying Decaprio wears lifts is stupid. They're is no evidence whatsoever. He's a solid 181cm guy, clearly 5'11+. Get over it.

Met him at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. We talked for a brief moment and I got a picture with him, the picture is while seated but I did make sure to take note of his height and footwear after he stood up. He is no less than this, but i would say its accurate. He may be 1/2 inch taller.

Hmmmmm, jonathon ross edged him in both interviews and jonathon ross claims 6'1.5. He would definently be 6'1 if ross is 6'1.5 however, ross does not seem this tall and with general estimations on jonathon ross's page, ross seems less then 6'1. For me, ross is more closer to a flat 6'0, then 6'1 so i cannot see how quentin can be 6'1. I would put him at the same height as ross. 6'0.5, maybe closer to 6'0.

Having him edge travolta is not neccessarily a confidence vote. Travolta does not seem 6'0, more in the low 5'11 range and could be in the top of the 5'10 terrain.

Having Tarantino more towards 6'0, then 6'1 would fit in with brad pitt 5'9 conspiracy.

And the same difference can be spot also between Colin Firth and Hooper, so Firth is at best 6'1 and so is Tarantino.

I saw him at the Grid House premiere here in Austin where it was filmed. He was wearing cowboy boots that gave in about an inch and was right about 6'1 to 6'1 1/2. The Clooney difference in From dusk till dawn is about 2 full inches so he's probably 6'0 flat bare footed.

One thing that I noticed just as I was looking at some photos of Tarantino is that he's a pretty big guy, girth-wise! Did he gain weight in the last few years or was he always that sturdy? As far as height, I vaguely remember a Rolling Stone article in where the writer said something to the effect of "Tarantino is actually more than 6 feet yet doesn't appear like he is". I think 6'1.5" is a good estimate.

I just met hime and spoke with him for 10 minutes here in a special triple Kung-Fu feature in Iceland. He was maybe 6'1, my 6'1.5 friend (187cm exactly) stood right next to him and he was noticably taller than Quentin, he also noticed it. I'm 5'11, Eli Roth was there and he was my size, couldn't see exactly how tall but definately in the 5'11 range. But Quentin is definately smaller than 187cm, probably 184cm or 185. I couldn't take any photos since no one was allowed to take pictures...
