some of his movies he looks 5`7" in others 5`6" but I doubt that he was ever 5`8"

5-7 it is.

I think his proportions make him look taller than he is.

For example, look how small his head looks compared to Glenn's, who himself does not have a large head.

Having a smaller head can give an illusion of being taller.

I agree Williams always looked taller in his movies than 5'7", but you guys should watch him in Mork and Mindy from the late 70s. He looks like he's even struggling with 5'7" in that series.

MrChris, my guess is Connie Nielsen is wearing high heels...

As for Robin, somehow I always imagined him to be taller, he doesn't have a 5'7'' posture. more like 5'10'' or something.

see this photo of Robin Williams next to 5'11" Connie Nielsen

I'm not sure he reaches 5'7" in that photo.

It doesn't seem reasonable to associate madness with guessing someone's height. Barefooted, I am almost exactly 71 inches (as of today) and I'll readily admit that when I talked with Robin Williams, I wasn't obsessed with his height (as Ricardo seems to be). Based on the comments, It would seem only reasonable that I'm in a better position to know than people that have only seen him in movies. Maybe I don't remember correctly...and I'm certainly not going to lie awake nights worrying about it. What about you, Ricardo?? Hmmmmm?
Ricardo said on 5/Aug/05
Are you mad Chuckcheese, 5'10"!! there is only two explanations here... you are not the 5'11" you think, or our friend Robin Williams wears lifts.

I met Robin on the street in Singapore about 7 or 8 years ago and talked with him (one on one) for about 30 or 40 minutes. I am 5'11" and would guess he's probably 5'10"...maybe slightly less but not by much.

Yeah, well the problem is that Matt Damon is not 5'11'', not 5'10'', and from the evidence people have brought to light on this site, he even could be struggling with 5'9'', and 5'8'' and change for Damon is not out of the question. This would put Williams at much shorter than you are making him out to be, McFan.

Robin Williams is at least 5'7, possibly 5'8. Look at "Good Will Hunting." There is 2-3 inches difference between he and Damon.

In the movie One Hour Photo he is measured as he gets his mugshot and is listed at 5'9. Don't know how accurate this is.
Ricardo said on 11/Apr/05
yeah. In one of his movies you saw him being measured. He stood at 69 inches, but had his shoes on. Remove the shoes... minus the hair... 5 ft 7 1/2"

I ran into Robin Williams in the Castro section of San Francisco. I was at least 4" taller than he was. I'm 5'8".

This is right. Saw him after the Oscars in 2000.
