I doubt if Sophia is a flat 5ft5 at her average height of the day. She is starring in a lovely festive edition of 'Heartbeat', which originally went out on 30th December, 2001. As soon as I saw her face, right at the beginning and buying a rail ticket to the Heartbeat village, Aidensfield, I said, "I know that face! Isn't she the girl who played Agnes in my favourite ever version of 'Oliver Twist'?"

Indeed it was that girl, Sophia Myles, and she looks quite a good height in this, though doubtless she is wearing shoes with reasonably high heels, for she plays 'A Cracker', in Geoff Hughes's own words! Well, I doubt he's going to pull her, Christmas time or not! 🎄

I will put 5ft5.25 again for Sophia. Now I'd better continue watching to see if the missing guide dog turns up and if the nasty piece of work who's hunting for Sophia's character, Heather, actually finds her...

I am watching Sophia in a star-studded episode of 'Agatha Christie's Marple', and having been talking earlier about Alun Armstrong playing Agnes Flemming's Dad in 'Oliver Twist', I recognized that here was Oliver's actual mother, Agnes, in another trip into the past, though a different century!
I knew her distinctive voice and thought "this actress is familiar!"
It was Sophia and I had a very good look at her height this time round! (She is seen walking with shortie Phil Davis!). I agree she must be a bit less than the 5ft6, written in her resume, so I'm going to put 5ft5.25 for her. I MUST put 'Oliver Twist' on my 'DVD's to watch' list because the music is beautiful, the tale timeless and the cast is another star-filled extravaganza! Not to mention, Sophia kicks off the proceedings, even if it is to have little Oliver and die so sadly in the process, as was so much more common for 18th century women.
But we do see her fall in love with Oliver's Dad and I can compare Sophia to umpteen stars along the way as the story reverts back in time!

@ Rob - I know Jenny loves period dramas! She'll thoroughly enjoy Alan Bleasdale's 'Oliver Twist', if she hasn't seen it already! It is simply stunning! 🌹

She's not so short ... I think she's taller.

Wow, I didn't think she was this tall. From Moonlight, Tristan & Isolde, and Underworld, I would have pegged her as 5'3'' or 5'4''- especially since she seemed so much smaller than Beckinsale. Maybe she's one of those people who only look their height in person.

She looks about 5'4 but probably not any smaller.

Definatley not 5.6. Eva Green is 5.6 and she looks it in the new bond movie. Sophia looks very short on screen and compared to alot of other celebs.
