Think he needs downgrading. Barely taller than his wife and she admits to being 5ft 9.5

Rob, My friend recently had a pic taken with Steve at a supermarket and Steve’s eyebrows came upto the middle of my friends ear how tall would you say my friend was estimated?
Editor Rob
He must be over 6ft 3

Packham to me just looks proportionally like a guy who wouldn’t be below 6ft. Long-limbed unlike Steve who I think can look just 5ft11 at times.

Chris definitely has better odds of hitting 6ft for sure though
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 11/Oct/19
I’d have thought at least 6ft for Chris
Editor Rob
compared to someone like michaela, I am not sure a solid 6ft for him, although he could well be edging out steve.

Rob, how tall do you think Chris Packham is?

Listed 6ft and looks to edge out Steve
Editor Rob
They both look quite similar, but maybe Chris has a better chance of 5ft 11.5-6ft range than Steve.

More like 179cm max. On a Sports Relief programme at the weekend he was barefoot beside his wife - Olympic rower Helen Standing - and looked the same height. She's 178cm on the British rowing website. In other pics he looks a tiny bit taller until she has heels on and she's taller than him. Chumky 5' 10" ish guy.

Now here's an impressive guy: aside from his adventurism, he studied Judo in Japan and got his black belt in a shorter than average time, and now practises Kyokushinkai Karate (as did Dolph Lundgren).
This is the one traditional style where they still practise full contact all the time, although you're not allowed to hit your opponent's head with any part of your arm. So no punches, only kicks and knee-strikes to the head.
Luckily, Steve seems built for that sort of punishment!
I'll just stick with Shotokan, thanks! Seems it's even safer than Yoga now!

He could pass off as the great Steve Irwin's brother.

@Rob, there's a typo English wildlife presenter'''s''', Funny thing is that he actually looks like he could be the brother of Steve Irwin, very similar looking around the eyes.

Common theme in the comments. We all thought he was average to lower average. With stocky build, so appears shortish.
Stiffelio said on 26/Sep/16
Big, stocky guy! I thought he was shorter, like 5'9 1/2
jessman said on 24/Sep/16
Never thought of him as this tall. Always figured he was about 5'8 or 5'9. Must be his stocky build that made me think he was shorter.
Rory said on 24/Sep/16
Doesn't look as tall as this to me. He seems very average in height like 5'10.
SAK said on 24/Sep/16
Didn't realise he was this tall. I thought he was 5'9/5'10. There is something about his proportions that make him appear shorter.
Guts said on 24/Sep/16
Remember seeing him during the Olympics and i thought he looked about 5'8, but then i realised he was probably being interviewed by Dan Walker (Weak 6'5) or Steve Redgrave (Around 6'5).

Still surprised to see him this high never thought he looked tallish on TV.

it is possible he was this height but lost a fraction after breaking back in a few places.
