O'Quinn has a slight ground advantage over Fox, but you can see there is max 1.5cm difference between them. I think it's Fox's 6ft 2 claim that needs to be downgraded to max 6ft 1.25 instead of always upgrading Holloway and O'Quinn to justify the lack of difference between the three of them, as it's clear they all fall within a 2cm range of each other.

strange, if he is 183 cm flat today then Kurtwood smith is down to 179 cm. thats seems a little low. I can believe 184-185 vs 181. I just cant believe how he was under 6 foot 1 peak.
Importer said on 21/Jun/19
6'1 in the morning and likely dipped down to a 184cm at a low.

He was in a movie with Pierce Brosnan many years ago called Don’t Talk To Strangers. Now that would be worth checking out...
In the Rocketeer, he does make Billy Campbell look near 6ft 4 to be fair, that's going from his 184 range.

Rob, I want to point out that my comment is not meant to offend or provoke anyone, but I feel that you are a bit unfair to Terry. His claims date from 2012 and 2016 and so maybe Terry is still measuring 6'1" out of bed today but his peak height looked closer to 185 than 184 cm. Look at Terry's photos next to Michael Emerson in 2010: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here
Terry could really look over four inches taller than Emerson, like in the show: Click Here Click Here
In "Lost" Terry has always clearly dominated over most other actors: Click Here
Just one inch difference between Terry and Jorge Garcia is not enough, look at them side by side in 2006: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here
Their footwear were similar: Click Here Click Here
Here are the next photos from Terry and Jorge from 2007: Click Here Click Here
Now look at the other photos of Terry and Jorge from 2007, which also includes Henry Ian Cusick and note that Henry has thicker shoes than them: Click Here Click Here
In the last episode of "Lost" you could compare Terry with Matthew Fox (for which 6'1.75" would be better): Click Here
Now look at them here when Terry's posture was a bit better: Click Here
Terry next to Michael Vartan in 2012: Click Here
It is true that in "Lost" it was difficult to compare height differences due to the hills, here for example Terry alongside Daniel Dae Kim in 2006: Click Here
Now look at Terry and Daniel in the frame of "Hawaii Five-0" from 2011 where the ground is flat: Click Here
Terry could look five inches taller than Kim. I also do not understand why you are replacing Terry and Kurtwood Smith as the same height today when in 2017 Terry looked taller than Kurtwood: Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here
I will give the Terry peak height 6'0.75" and the current height 6'0.25" because I don't agree with your list. Rob, could you change anything in Terry's list?
On Millenium when Terry was in his 40's, I felt he was closer to six feet than six feet one. I personally wouldn't go above the 6ft 1/2 now as a peak.
berta said on 9/Mar/19
its strange that he was half a heada taller than kiefer sutherland in young guns for example and looked atleast strong 6 foot 1 in the stepfather movies. But he have claimed this height 2 times, he knows his height. It makes me wonder how tall a guy like " mr echo " from lost is. Terry looked fraction taller in the bunker scenes. Maybe Adewale is little under 6 foot 1? Will smith is maybe 2 cm taller in most photos and Jim carrey was taller with extremelly bad posture in Ace ventura 2.

Rob, I think you should take into account what Terry wore shoes at LOST: Click Here
His shoes looks flat. I do not believe that the peak height Terry was less than 6'0.75". Rob, can you give a downgrade for William Mapother up to 6'0.5" and upgrade the peak height Terry to 6'0.75"?
Tall Sam said on 2/Apr/18
This guy looked a stronger 6'1" than some actors on here listed at the 6'1" mark. I really can't see him below 6'0.75" range at peak.
Gracian said on 31/Mar/18
Give it a peak height upgrade to 6'0.75" and a downgrade of the current height to 5'11.75", please Rob. I still think that Mapother should get a downgrade to 6'0.5". As for Terry, I think the weak 6'1" peak height and weak 6ft today will be a better list. Please, Rob, do not skip my comment.
Gracian said on 24/Feb/18
I thought about Terry and William Mapother Rob, I think that the peak height Terry and William Mapother should still be mentioned... Comparison of the Mapothera photo with the photo Mark Selby is a good argument, I think Mapother should downgrade to 6'0.5". Peak height Terry meanwhile it looks a little low and I do not believe that the peak height Terry was shorter than the peak height Harrison Ford, I just can not believe it... Today, while Terry looks quite uncertain at 6 feet, I am asking you for a upgrade peak height to 6'0.75" and downgrade its current height to 5'11.75" I think Terry peak height 6'0.75" and today height 5'11.75" and William Mapother 6'0.5" will be fair.

A broken stadiometer, berta? 😄
I can see how he can look at least 6'1 with Jonathan Frakes (if he really was as tall as his 6'3 listing), but on Lost the most I would have guessed him at is 184-5. It's been a while since I have seen the show, but I think a guy like Josh Holloway (who claims and looks 6'1) looked taller than him. So his claim isn't really that surprising to me, especially in the last years. Although I agree that 6' flat is a bit unbelievable as a peak height (especially when he shot that show with Frakes, but maybe not so much when he was in Lost), the strange thing is that, when he came out with these claims, he never mentioned any shrinkage or peak height and I'm sure he measured himself at least once when he was younger...
Rob, I know that you've been adding many old claims from that Spotlight thing recently. It certainly would be interesting to know what Terry claimed when he was younger (in case he ever had one of those listings)...
Editor Rob: unfortunately he's not in it, only some foreigners who were in the UK or had agents in the UK...
said on 11/Oct/17
the guy can have been measured on a broken stadiometer. In all i have seen him in i really would never guess him any shorter than 185 cm peak. in lost the stepfather and young guns just to name a few roles, he really looked close to 6 foot 2. The guy claims 183 cm, Somwthing is wrong. I have told this story before but my grandfater told my dad that he was 182 cm. My father is 188 and back to back my grandfaterh was 2 cm shorter and this was when he was pushing 70 years old. So he oculd have been around 188 cm peak. It could be the same with quinn he think he is 183 but was never shorter than atleast 185 cm
Editor Rob: I'm not sure he would have bought a stadiometer, I'm sure to get his morning height he managed to use a tape measure.

Gracjan, that comment had me in stitches...but definitely a fair and compromisable exchange nonetheless!

@Editor Rob: I watched Lost, Star Trek, and several other Terra movies. I took his height, he really looked like a tall guy, but I came to the conclusion that the range of 6'1½"-6'2" (187-188 cm) could indeed be overrun for him at his summit. Today when Terry was over 60 years old, the range of 6'0"-6'0½" (183-184 cm) seems to me quite probable and fair. But to the top, I think Terry was honest saying it was around 6'1". I think the correct auction for his peak is 6'0¾"-6'1¼" (185-186 cm). If it's not a problem with Rob, then I suggest a fair exchange of William Mapother's growth at 6'0½" and Terre's growth at 6'0¾". I think that 184 cm tall for William and a little 185 cm For Terrego as the peak is more likely than the current record.

berta said on 10/Mar/17
yeah its littel over average but i think you are with me that when you look at a movie like the stepfather or young guns he could look 6 foot 2. in young guns he was a head taller than kiefer sutherlandl. and it was only 9-10 cm beetween them somethin is off with that. i still think he was 185 at peak. you cant look that tall at 183-184. I think here in sweden tha average is up to 182 now. read it somwhere. i can believe that in my class and also my brothers when we should see what the average height was ( and this was 10 years back so i guess its taller now) the average was about 183. Sweden must be one of the tallest countrys. In a nother paper my father read that now in sweden people should not be considered tall before they are over 190 cm :P
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 1/Mar/17

this is the only guy on this website i dont understand how he can only have been 184 at peak. ( and harrison ford 185) I could live with 185 terry at peak and 184 harrison ford peak. i Mean was this guy really shorter than ford 30 years ago? :P thats just weird. But he himself claim only even 183 at peak. He really looked like the 187 listing when i now have seen movies like "the stepfather". How could he look so tall at 183-184? At that height he should look average. but he always gives the impression of a really tall guy.
Giorgi said on 15/Dec/16
He makes a really tall impression in 80's and 90's. I guess because he used to be slim and had a good posture.
berta said on 25/May/16
this is very good!!! 184 is the lowest ever possible i can ever see him. Bit when a guy like terry is 184 that makes me wonder if a guy like Arnold never was over 185.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 5/May/16
He looked close to Matthew Fox in the early seasons of Lost.
Sam said on 4/May/16
Thanks for updating a peak height, that's the lowest I think you could argue for him at peak.
Andrea said on 1/May/16
184 is a good listing, that's what he generally looked in Lost! He certainly didn't look anywhere near 187 in the show, though.
It is true that he could look a fraction over 6'1 when younger, if Jonathan Frakes was really a big 6'3 guy but maybe he wasn't? I really don't know that guy!
6' today is believable, i think he genuinely measured that mark and he honestly came out with that claim. Strange he didn't mention any height loss in that tweet, maybe i should try to ask him about that ;)
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 30/Apr/16
Looks 6ft1-2 on Star Trek
said on 28/Apr/16
Rob how tall do you think he looks in that picture with Sadler?
Editor Rob: he's struggling with 6ft there...but then it is true in Star Trek over 25 years ago he could look taller
said on 27/Apr/16
Rob, maybe 184cm is closer?
He looks 187cm range w/h Frakes. A 6ft guy couldn't pull that off easily. On Lost there was no noticeable difference really between Fox, Holloway and O'Quinn...
Editor Rob: maybe a 184cm peak figure is nearer, today I'd say he may well have lost a bit of height.
Paleman said on 15/Apr/16
Wow! That's quite a downgrade Rob... He never, ever looked 4 centimeters shorter than Matthew Fox, those two guys were pretty much the same height on Lost. He always struck me as a 6'1"5 kinda guy... I'm surprised.
said on 9/Apr/16
Rob you had him 6ft 1,75in 187cm strong how is that possible
Editor Rob: overestimation and maybe thinking he did shrink a bit...
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 9/Apr/16
I'm sorry...but I see a near 6ft2 guy. Aswell Frakes has a full head of hair while Terry is bald
Andrea said on 8/Apr/16
I don't think he looks close to 6'2 with Frakes, but he certainly doesn't look under 6'1 with him... I doubt Terry hasn't lost any height yet, especially if you consider that you have some guys 20 years younger than him who seem (or at least you say that) to have already lost a cm...
said on 8/Apr/16
I think you should consider a 6'0.25" or 6'0.5" peak listing. I don't think that's ruled out in his quotes and most of us are shorter by the end of the day than during noon to afternoon.
184 range is definitely a possibility, nowadays you can see him with someone like William Sadler
and he's not looking as tall as he could in the past.

Would you concede that he gave an impression of at least 184 cm at his peak and I'm talking mid-day, Rob, et al.?
Editor Rob: yes he could look that range for sure. He never mentioned anything about shrinking in his quotes, so I don't know if that is what he always thought he was...6ft 1 morning, 6ft evening.
kevin said on 4/Apr/16
he was at least 184cm at peak, just 6ft (although his own claim) looks too short to me, maybe he really measured at 6ft as an older man but was sure lil over that as a young man
said on 4/Apr/16
Rob, based on what did you give him 6'1.75? Do you think other people might be overlisted by 4 cms or more, if measured? That's quite a big amount in a site where even quarter inches matter...
Editor Rob: I can't remember now, but maybe on x-files I had thought he could look taller than he is.
said on 4/Apr/16
Rob, could you have a look at these?
If Frakes was 6ft3 (or a fraction over) , O'Quinn looks 6ft2!
Editor Rob: Frakes could look a guy between 6ft 2-3 on the show at times...other times he looked a decent 6ft 3 when standing tall.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 2/Apr/16
It is a shocker...but it's his claim. I won't argue with it. But he did trick us into thinking he was a near 6ft2 guy!
said on 2/Apr/16
Never watched Star Trek but there are some pictures where he can look just about one inch shorter than Frakes (Click Here
), others where he can look maybe more 4 good cms shorter than him (Click Here
Based on these few pictures, i'd say he really doesn't look under a good 6'1, always if Frakes was a 6'3 guy at his peak (i don't really know him)!
That said, he gave me a 184 impression on Lost and today he might well be nearer 6' flat, certainly no less than that, though!
And Matthew... I really can't see him 1.5 inches taller than Terry! I really should rewatch Lost, now that many heights have finally been "fixed"...
Editor Rob: there could be about 2 inches between them, but I will watch their episode.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 1/Apr/16
Result for you Andrea!
said on 1/Apr/16
I have seen some pictures of him, younger (in his 40s), with Jonathan Frakes and he really can look 6'1-6'2, if Jonathan Frakes was really a big 6'3 guy!
On the other hand, i was the first one to say that he looked nowhere near that mark in Lost (when he was listed at 6'1.75) but more 6'-6'1!
He did look quite tall in Lost but again a real, solid 6' will appear tall on television! Maybe we're really used to 6' guys who get away with 6'1 or 6'2 listings...
Editor Rob: I will rewatch the episode one point, I think he could have looked a good couple inches shorter than jonathan...who at times himself looked 6ft 2.5-3 range on the show.
Andrea said on 31/Mar/16
You should thank Big Terry for being so honest! If he was like that other guy from 24, Bob Gunton, and went with a very optimistic 6'2, i am sure he would have kept the old listing, for life!
said on 31/Mar/16
Wow, Rob! I always said he did look noticeably shorter than his listing!
And it also goes to show how claims influence your listings :)
You did have him at 6'1.5 peak!!! Lol, Rampage of course guessed him at 187-188!
6' range is what he looks with guys like Michael Emerson or Henry Ian Cusick...
It's funny because i remember that you said that Matthew, Josh and Terry all looked similar in Lost... So, shouldn't you downgrade Matthew again, now? :) Do you think he might be another Joseph Milsson guy? Josh and Terry seem very honest about their heights!
To be fair to Terry, though, he's 63 now... He can certainly have lost a fraction and maybe he's calling his actual measurement? Maybe he could be 6' now and closer to 6'1 peak? I can't say anything for his peak but he does look around 6' in recent photos! A fraction over 6' is still possible, now!
Editor Rob: well he is one of the few who has given a height like morning/evening, the first quote is from 2012, the second is as mentioned more recent.
Is this the range he has always been? I don't know, maybe he was a 184 range guy all along...

Aragorn 5'11 said on 6/Jan/13
I disagree Rob. He did NOT look a proper 187 cm guy on Alias, rather he looked EXACTLY 185cm (6'1"). He was only half an inch taller than Victor Garber who's listed here as 184cm (6'0.5") AND he looked 1.5 inches taller than Michael Vartan who's listed here as 181cm (5'11.25"). This means he's either 6'0.75" or 6'1". Given the benefit of the doubt he's most like 6'1" and not 6'0.75" NOR anything above 6'1". 6'1.75" is a corny joke for him unless Garber and Vartan are both taller than they are listed here, which I don't think you believe Rob.

I mean, there are guys like Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, where the difference is supposed to be "only" 10 cms and i hardly can see that small difference in photos or videos... Then there are guys like O'Quinn and Emerson where the difference should be 14 cms and there's actually small difference between them, in videos and photos! I think O'Quinn was 6'2" at peak, and he still looks to be around that mark today. Watching him in 1989's BLIND FURY, he looked to be about the same as Rutger Hauer--whom I believe to be more 6'2" than 6'1" at peak--and if anything, he was just a fraction taller than Hauer.
In looking at pictures, he looks to be roughly the same as his LOST co-stars, Holloway and Fox. I think he's dead even with Fox, and I think Holloway is just a bit shorter--more 6'1"ish than Fox & O'Quinn.

Solomon - Quinn and Sagal are both seated in that picture. Quinn consistantly appears close to 6'2" next to Sagal, and the other Lost cast members.

Unfortunately, they are starting to shrink actors on Lost now. Terry O'Quinn was probably 5'10" as a young teenager:

Terry's always listed as either as 6'1" or 6'2", so 6'1.7" might be just about right. It is hard to tell which of the three main cast members of "Lost" that are 6 feet plus, Josh Holloway, Terry O'Quinn, and Matthew Fox, which is the tallest, because of the frequently sloping, natural terrean that they use. If you told me that Holloway was the shortest, O'Quinn in between, and Fox the tallest, that is probably correct.
[Editor Rob: going by Alias and Harsh Realm I think he is closer to 6ft 2...Lost is, as you say, impossible to really guage heights from]
