@ Sandy Cowell - A lot of tall girls do wear high heels though and I know you think this is cool, like I do! It is very common for women to claim they are taller than what they are but you are right in saying that it is that much more appealing for men to claim to be 6'0" than it is for women to claim to be 6'0". There could be a few more women than you think who find it appealing to claim 6'0", but I dunno!

She get the 181cm impresssion from me the more i look at her, initially thought of 5'10.

Rob, you think 5’11.25 could be a little low? In Wolf Creek series 2 there’s a bus scene with her and John Jarratt if Jarratt is 6’0.75 she could well be 6’0 they looked very close when standing next to each other then again it all depends on the footwear they were wearing I guess

From when
I added her, I did think her 181 figure was believable, but haven't looked at her since really.

Ber, 175cm is 5’9, 181cm is 5’11.25

She looked really tall in series 2 of wolf creek. Maybe that should be added to her credits as she was the female lead. Shame her character doesnt survive the show

@ Nik - Okay, then 90% of women, unless they make a living from their height! I've known loads who'd clearly pretend that they're smaller, but it never wore with me. However, I kept my mouth shut - they were bigger than me!

She's only a few inches shorter than Parker Sawyers on Pine Gap and they're the tallest people on the show. IF Sawyers is supposed 6'3-6'4 then she has to at least be 6' easy.

@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!

No problem, it is very easy to miss comments for us. I find messages for me from weeks or months back that I have not replied to and one of those was from you on the page of Liv Tyler, a page you incidentally commented on today, and I replied saying thanks several weeks later. I know there are others too. It is so easily done because comments pages can change very quickly and some comments do not always make the comments page.
Thanks for telling me this, you will be looking forward to having the operation and being able to walk again pain free like you used to do. I just hope it is all resolved as soon as possible. At the moment you will be resting as much as you need to whilst still being as active as you are able to be too, whilst doing your household chores and looking after your cats.
On the 1st September I mentioned that I had read on the Internet about a lady of 6'4" who commented on the hardship she had endured in her life due to her tall height, if you want to read this blog type in "Life as a tall girl The New York Times" in the Google box, you don't need to put the speech marks in like I did., and this blog is right near the very top on the first page of search results. Alternatively you could go to Click Here to locate this blog. I offered a message of support a few years ago but I think that the commenting is closed now, I am not even sure if you can read past comments or not, this may or may not be possible.
Finally, I have my 4th instalment of health and safety tips ready to post on the "General Height" page imminently, so look out for them in the next few days! I also have my own "Wishlist" to post to the height request page too!

Cheers!

@ Nik - Sorry about the delay, but it is my hip/thigh bone which is going to be straightened, or reattached to my hip!

The correct spelling is Sciatica!
Nik said on 8/Sep/17
@ Sandy Cowell - Hi Sandy!

When you have your operation it will be to straighten out the bone in your back, won't it? I hope that this has some positive results as I don't think the physio will do that much myself. Also I don't know whether going private with your treatment will be a good idea?
I know that you will be brave in coping with the pain, my Mum is brave too in coping with her persistent psyatica, and my Mum's Mum had serious knee trouble for years and was brave in putting up with it. Until treatment cures or substantially improves your back problems it is best exploring as many coping strategies as possible, although you do have 2 currently in your tablets and heat patches. I know that you have a healthy diet and this bodes well for you and you have got to hang on in there, enjoy painless times, and be brave when the pain is getting you down, and then hopefully a good remedy or permanent solution will be found.

Have a good weekend Sandy!

Hi Nik!
I was just on the verge of putting on a couple of my heat patches when it occured to me that I owe you a comment on this page, as I planned yesterday!
I don't know when my operation will be, but in a couple of weeks time, I will be going down to the hospital to begin some kind of therapy, but I don't hold out much hope. I can't see how a bit of physio can make much difference to the pain I'm in now. It's too far gone. The woman at my pain clinic - which I've found to be the wrong term for it - reckons that they are trying to cut costs and blow the operation out in favour of cheaper treatment, as that is precisely what happened to her. She had to pay for her treatment, and now her life is tolerable.
If it does work, then I might be able to wear shoes like Tess does again, which I obviously can't do at the moment! The extra few inches afforded by a pair of shoes like that is needed by someone of my height more so than by someone of Tess's height, but it's nice to think that any woman of any height should be able to wear what she feels good in! It's such a boost to the confidence, but let's face it, that is needed far more when you are a celebrity and in the public eye all the time. At times such as these, I am quite happy to be able to hide away!

Sorry about the delay! Have a nice day!

@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!

I also remember the woman who stated her dislike for being 6'5" or over on the "General Height" page plus I remember reading on the Internet a year or two ago about a woman of 6'4" or 6'5" who also told her story of how her tall height had caused her hardship in life. There was an opportunity to post messages of support to her and I was one of the many people who did that.
It's good that Tess is comfortable with her tall height as this does not come easily to all tall people as it does not come easily to all small people either. I agree with you in that tall people can find it much worse than small people due to them standing out that much morse, it's terrible that height can bring issues to many people but unfortunately it does.
Those heels of Tess's may well bring her nearly 5 inches in extra height! So she will be north of 6'4" when she is wearing them, like you said.
It's good to hear that you are making the most of those heat patches and using them wisely too, it sounds like they benefit you a lot. When are you having the operation?
The weekend is now upon us because as I am writing this comment it is in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Cheers Sandy!
Sandy Cowell said on 31/Aug/17
@ Nik - First, I wouldn't dream of putting any less than 5ft11.25 for Tess unless I find out otherwise! She looks that tall and she looks as though she loves it too, so good luck to her! With those heels, as you said the other day, 6ft4 is a distinct possibility!
I know you read the General Height Page; I have noticed a woman write into that page who is 6ft5 or more. I don't think she is too happy about it and that upsets me. It must be far worse not liking being tall than small because you stand out so much when you're tall. I have always, always thought that smaller people who don't feel enthusiastic about their height have by far the easier side of the coin. I only read this lady's comment recently. I have thought of writing to her when I have something worthwhile to say. It is good to see women like Tess enjoying their God-given stature!
Oh yes, I've just started using the heat patches again. The best time to put them on is when I'm settling down for the evening, all nice and clean but having dried off sufficiently for them not to fall off when I get up to use the toilet or make some tea! They have a tendency to fall off!
Finally, I can't and don't expect to ever be completely free of pain, but when I have had the operation, if I can walk with ease, and ideally for pleasure again, I will be a happy bunny!

Cheers Nik!

@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!

No problem Sandy! I was really pleased to hear that my comment cheered you up a lot, particularly as you were having a difficult time.
The idea of the group therapy should be to make it so people are interested in what is being said and so that everyone finds the sessions useful, at least you have shown your commitment by turning up to all but one of them!
I think it's good to have multiple methods for controlling the pain, are the heat patches still proving to be useful? The pills are so important and it must be great when you have taken them and the pain disappears. Obviously it is important to look for other solutions for easing the pain until your back problems are solved permanently, or at least reduced substantially.

Like Rob says I would be surprised if Tess is as low as 177-178 cm tall, I could quite easily buy her being 5'11" on the nose, but no lower!
I think she has given an honest bare foot quote for her height, she could maybe be a fraction under 180 cm but no lower than a strong 179 cm's!

Cheers!
Sandy Cowell said on 30/Aug/17
@ Nik - You're very welcome for that!
When I arrived at my pain clinic,* there was only one other person there! I can't imagine why they kicked up such a scene the one time I didn't go, which was two weeks ago.
Everyone was thinking on those lines yesterday and I can assure them that they didn't miss anything! I used to have more fun going to sleep in the toilet at work!

* I was mistaken to call it a pain clinic, because although you get prescriptions there and they have a doctor, the meetings are a kind of group therapy for controlling pain - without pills ideally!
Editor Rob
as for Tess being 177-8, I'm not sure she looks that short. Seems similar in height to Brenton Thwaites, although he too might be 180 at most.

A neighbour 😝 just came round complaining to my brother about the cats. 😿😿😿😿 I haven't told you this before, but Christopher has Asperger's, and cannot tolerate stress. He also loves those cats with all his heart.
What a major bummer!

@ Sandy Cowell - Hey Sandy!

I always like to see matching colours from people's, clothes, shoes, hair, lipstick, etc, it always intrigues me! It's good to see the pride she takes in her appearance, I like to display my feminine side in picking up on things like that! I like the shiny red shoes she has too!
Too true Sandy, confident people generally are very good at getting on with other people and most of them do have their feet on the ground!
They usually do have a lot of confidence and belief in other people too!
It's great to talk about things like this! I think it is great when men can be like this?

Cheers!

Well done for noticing that Tess's lipstick and shoe colour match - they do indeed! She'd love you for noticing the pride she takes on her appearance! All too often, guys NEVER pick up on the little details like that!
No you didn't used the wrong word, and besides, when voicing your opinion, there aren't really any 'wrong words' as such, though perhaps 'better words' would be more appropriate!
Confident people, apart from being sought-after company, are great to be around as they aren't spending their time trying to prove themselves, so they are going to show far more interest in the person they've decided to spent their time talking to! Now who isn't going to find that attractive?
Now I am off to discover what Mr Screwer has written to us...! 😉
Nik said on 28/Aug/17
@ Sandy Cowell

Yes, she will be well over 6ft with those high heels on, may be 6'3.25" or even 6'4.25", it just depends how many inches are on those killer heels! I like the shade of red for those shoes, they are a similar colour to her lipstick!
I hope I didn't use the wrong word to describe her, it wasn't intentional if I did. Confident people are usually down to earth and humble, and this is a truly splendid thing!
Have you read Gladstone Screwers reply to us? It's not to be missed!

Cheers!

Sandy Cowell said on 28/Aug/17
@ Nik - I reckon she is well over 6ft in those shoes! If I am honest, humbling is not a word I'd used to describe her until I've seen her interviewed, but I really did like what you said about confident people being down to Earth - and humble!
I can understand that confidence does come with a humbling air of acceptance of oneself - and that can only be A Good Thing! 👌

@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!

Its nice to see confidence in people and the thing is most confident people are very humble and down to earth people and I certainly see Tess as being like that. She strikes me as being a nice person! I wonder how tall she is in those shoes? They look nice, don't they?

Cheers!
Sandy Cowell said on 27/Aug/17
@ Nik - Oh my! I've only just noticed she's from Australia! Big country, big on confidence? Well who knows! She's definitely got the latter and comes from the former. Now all I have to do is look out for her...

@ Sandy Cowell

Yes, she definitely looks the full 5'11.25", she has long legs and a fairly long torso!
She does look very confident and self assured like you say. I am not an expert on body language but Tess seems to have the body language of a confident person and her face makes her look like she is confident. She looks like she is a nice person, and this is what counts!

She pulls off looking 5'11.25 very well!

Cheers!

The effect of the heels and pants in that picture is pretty deceiving. I'd be surprised if she got above 179cm at night.
Sandy Cowell said on 26/Aug/17
Ha ha! Just looking at her tiny facial picture, one takes in straight away that she has unbounding confidence, and seeing her height is little short of 6ft, Tess is one woman who can certainly pull off that sort of height!
Modelling and acting both need self-assurance, and that is something this lady has a plenty. She gets 5ft11 and a quarter of an inch from me.

@ Nik - Yes, she does look every inch as tall as she is! I could see it with one glance!
MSJC said on 26/Aug/17
