I saw an interview of Allison Mack and she said that tom is the tallest young actor in all Hollywood! Maio if you say he's 6'2 that shows how bad you are at judging heights! Anything under 190 for tom is fantasy :)

Sony, never, ever Oliver looks taller than Clark; just the opposite. I have watched - and still do - SV so many times now on DVD, that i can assure you that it is never the case. I agree with you about his "father". Many shots of Tom are "special": most of the interior ones, he wears slippers and very often most of those being less than 6'2 or so, are, in close-ups, on an "apple box". John Schneider doesn't need such a trick for being very tall himself but he often played beside Tom wearing shoes while Tom has sleepers on.
Maio, you need to reactivate some good sense. If Tom was 6'2 what about all the others? Many of the SV stars used to play along with notably tall actors as Glover and D'Onofrio, thence a valid comparability. As for Marsters, legitimately gauged 5'9 by Rob, he would have to be much shorter than that. Andrea, in the first pic, Tom WEARS SHOES while Michael does NOT. On the other photo, JTT is effectively a bit slouching by pushing the trolley but seems a tad closer to the camera. I agree with Andrea 100% and would say, Rob...are-you positively sure Tom is shorter than Jared or is it based essentially on the CW TV Show which has never convinced me as undoubtedly proof. That then puzzled me but no more than so many movies with actors looking taller in the same scene, without any cut, than another one known as actually the tallest. So, that long shot is not a proof. In other pictures, Tom and Jared look about the same but no one is ever standing upright. Hugh, I follow you but still get the opposite conclusion by repeating the experience many times and even according to your instructions. 14 US big for a 6'1" guy? I wear a UK 11 (US 12) and even then my feet actually measure a UK 10.5 on the machine. A US 14 would be normal for a 6'5" or 6'6" guy. Odd but I never got a "gigantic" impression from Welling. In fact I had no idea he was even this tall because a lot of his co stars are also very tall.

Editor Rob I have seen Jared up close and he looks a 6ft 4 guy, and he's taller than Tom, so I can't see a 6ft 4 Tom. I go with the 'almost' 6ft 3 as I believe he did measure almost 6ft 3 and was honest about it.

Drawing a virtual line thanks to a ruler, the two behind "the middle one" appeared way taller, the line passing far above the "middle head", and they were exactly the same height. Anyone can enjoy repeating it. That means that the one being the most forward looks smaller because of perspective rules. Yet, though visibly ahead – watch their position and where their feet respectively are, not to mention they inevitably put Clark first as their leader – Tom looks at least as tall and even taller than the others who are significantly tall themselves anyway. If he were the same height, he would have appeared visibly shorter. Whether you consider that far fetched or not, that is not me who put this picture here and the rest belongs to physic. People can have huge hands and relatively small feet as John Wayne or just the contrary..as a friend of mine that nobody here knows! Tom has very big and thick and strong palmed hands and obviously the same as for his feet but it's not there that i base my conclusions on about his height; I just do it by using my eyes and adds, after that, commments from those who know him or worked with him. That's it.

I even know a 6'6" who wears 11US. 13-14US shoe sizes here (in Sweden) are to my experience quite uncommon to wear, and you'll usually get remarks from people if you tell them that you have THAT HUGE feet. I take a 13US myself and I have occasionally been told that I have u-boats, not feet. They normally stop selling shoes in regular shops at 13US.

What do you think about the "abandon" of the Metropolis project which sounds have never existed? Tom is as tall in 2012 as ten years ago and some people as blind as they then used to be.I miss funny and clever comments from you and those who still are missing as DaMan and Yaspaa! Arizona is very far from Paris and that's not an easy moving.

Is probably just 6,3 as I'm about the same height.
Can usually tell if someone is in the similar height range.
Weighs prob 210-215 max. I work in a gym myself at 230lbs
looks like tom is slightly smaller than myself. Hartley will be
195lbs max, in better condition. Tom in season 4 at 200lbs,
had much better shape. Appearing taller in leaner condition.

I don't think so. I'm 6'1" and my foot length is 29.5 cm, and using wkipedia shoes size formulas, it is a 46.5 continental europe, and 13.8 US shoes size. I know lot of people who are my height and approx same foot and shoes size. I know may be it is not the average size, but it's not unusual.

Strange. Google image Gabriel Aubry and Bruce Willis. Aubry listed at 6'2" has 4 inches on him so you'd expect him to be near 6'3". Now google Aubry and Welling, Welling looks at least 2 inches taller. Very odd.

andrea, i agree on justin hartley build. he had the better shape compare welling. other guy in smallville a good shape had to go to alan ritchson his upper build looks awesome. ritchson is my target's to buck up his shape.

I can't see any objectivity in this upgrade. There are no reason to upgrade .25 in. To upgrade a .25 in you must have proofs like height actual measures. If you just "think" he is taller than the previous height then you cannot be so accurate, you have to upgrade him 1 inch at least. Or make a round height, just 6'3".

Look at Justin Hartley, he's tall but his built isn't as "big" as Tom's so it gives off the appearance that he is shorter. Well the men in question aren't 6 foot, Bond so I don't see what that has to do with anything. Micheal Rosenbaum (5'11) is the tallest guy out of Sam (5'10) and James (5'8). If Tom is in the 6'2-6'3 bracket which I believe him to be, that would be a height gap of 3-4 inches which is noticeable in a camera lens. Especially during close up shots. Tom wore significant heels only in Season 9 and only in full-length shots as the black cloaked blur. You can see in behind the scenes photos that he switched to black hightop sneakers when his feet weren't in the shot. Apple boxes (or some lift) would be needed for close up shots where one of the smaller actors would need to be face to face with Tom. Notice how there are no tricks with both Justin and John though who are reported to be between 6'2 and 6'3. Because Tom's height is similar to theirs. They are all virtually the same size as one another and I think that says everything we need to know about Tom's height. He is 6'2-6'3 probably right in the middle. No more then that.

So that EOnline interview was done before Smallville started airing, when Welling was 23 or just turned 24 and presumably had stopped growing. Two possibilities:
1. He was telling the truth, and he is just under 6'3", whether that's 6'2.5" or 6'2.9", we don't know.
2. He got better information later on when he just started saying about 6'3".
His cast mates keep going on about how tall he is, though, which makes me wonder if he could really be 'only' 6'2.5". Show's over; they don't need to keep playing up his height anymore. One fan's report from Dragoncon which was held this weekend:

Much of the answers to questions centered around their working with Tom and on his stature. Marsters joked that they had to create runways of apple boxes for him to stand on during scenes where he had to move around with Tom because Tom was so insanely tall. So that EOnline interview was done before Smallville started airing, when Welling was 23 or just turned 24 and presumably had stopped growing. Two possibilities:
1. He was telling the truth, and he is just under 6'3", whether that's 6'2.5" or 6'2.9", we don't know.
2. He got better information later on when he just started saying about 6'3".
His cast mates keep going on about how tall he is, though, which makes me wonder if he could really be 'only' 6'2.5". Show's over; they don't need to keep playing up his height anymore. One fan's report from Dragoncon which was held this weekend:

Much of the answers to questions centered around their working with Tom and on his stature. Marsters joked that they had to create runways of apple boxes for him to stand on during scenes where he had to move around with Tom because Tom was so insanely tall. Witwer remembered thinking "I'm over 6 feet tall, I don't want an apple box", but then reconsidered when he actually stood toe to toe with Welling.

I think in this interview he was just being honest by saying "I'm almost six-foot-three". He is probably somewhere between 6'2.5 and 6'2.75. A strong 6'3 guy wouldn't say almost 6'3.

In all the interviews I've seen Tom has always referred to himself as 6'3. With that said I believe he is in and around 6'3. I've also never heard him say "I'm almost six-foot-three", I'd like to see that interview. If he did indeed say this it would lead me to believe he is just being honest and is in fact near 6'3.

Rosenbaum is said to be 5'11 and a quarter. If Tom is 3 inches taller that would leave him at 6'2 and a quarter which is a similar size to Justin Hartley. I would say that's believable. Tom is not 6'3 and a half. I just don't see that at all.

Michael isnt 6 foot! Tom would be 6'3.5 or sometimes even 6'4! Mike is around 180-181! Tom is 190, maybe 191! I wouldnt surprise if he were 6'3.5!

ahahah last thing you said means nothing, truth! Michael is clpser to the camera and tom is not standing straight! Most of the photos on the web show that tom is much taller than mike! There are some photos where tom looks almost 4.5 inches taller thab mike and they used ramp on the show for mike (8 cms of difference wouldnt require ramps so tom is probably taller than 189)! When with jared they did the opposite: they had to make jared look taller than he is because tom is a very big guy!

Tom is not that much taller (if he is at all) then Justin Hartley, we know he isn't taller then John Schneider, both men are around 6'2-6'3. Tom is somewhere in that height range probably 6'25 right in the middle. Tom himself admits to not being tall enough to count as a real 6'3. Does anyone have photos where Gabriel and Tom are side by side without Tom standing on his tip toes or where there is an odd angle?
That being said I would say there is a bigger height difference between Tom and Jared then there is between Michael Rosenbaum and Tom in these photos. Click Here Click Here

I know that Gabriel is closer to the camera but Tom has easy 2 inches on him. Even if they were at the same distance Tom would be still taller minimum 1 inch.

You're right, Tom's almost the same height as Jared...when Padalecki is slouching. This pic definitely does not support 191-192 cm for Tom AT ALL.

Jared is slouching in the picture provided, you can see by the way he bends his knees and slouches his shoulders downward and Jared still has the height advantage even when Jared purposely makes himself smaller. Tom is the same height as Justin Hartley you can see it in the cast photos where they both stand straight, there is little if any difference at all between the two of them.

To be honest Tom looks to only have 2 inches on jensen in that pic adam, but jensen likes to wear good shoes;) About jared in the pic he is hunching abit and still has an inch over Tom. I'm confused about those pics because they looked closer in height when i met them. But if i would judge from those pics Tom is about 6'2.5
