I think I've grown about 1 cm since August... that's not a lot but at least I won't stop growing at age 12. D= I've seen SOME Chinese women who are the same height as my mom (or maybe a little taller), but that's been pretty rare...

Jamie, I forgot to answer some things...
I don't think you will reach 5'6... you got your period at an early age, you're still growing, but I think you will stop growing before you turn 14. That's not a bad thing, though... it's a great height, and as I said before, you're way taller than the average Chinese woman, you shouldn't be mad at your height. You will probably have the same height as your mother (supposing she's 5'5.5)or even a little more, who knows?

I know there are women who are taller than me, but I hardly see any of them on the streets, most people are shorter than me, and that's why I might feel even taller.. but I'm starting to like my height... I did grow 3 inches after I started menstrating, but just as I said before, short girls usually grow 1 or 2 inches while tall girls can grow up to 4 or 5 inches. either you were tall when you got your period or you just grew 4 inches because you're kind of an exception to that 'rule'.
If I base my opinion on this, I would say your height is average, since most girls have their first period at 12 or so, but you know, i can be wrong, of course.

Highly possible. My friend of mine who is 16 years old is about 6'7-6'8 and he hasnt stopped growing and his dad is 6'9, while his mother is 5'6 or 5'5. His sister is 13 years old and 6'1 or 6'2 so yes things like that CAN happen.

The boys in my grade are mostly all 4'10-5'ish... there are very few that are my height or taller than me. We're mostly all 12 years old (grade 7). I wonder if they'll be taller than me someday...? xP

Those girls who got their period at a young age usually are considered tall because they started puberty and their growth hormone is at high levels... but then, after that, they grow 1 or 2 inches at max.
On the other hand, those girls who got their period after 12 and their height is above average... those girls are the ones who grow up the more after they start puberty.
To sum up, by the time of your first period...:
if you're short, you'll be either short or average.
if you're average, consider your age, the younger, the less likely you will be taller.
if you are tall (and got your period after 12), you will be even taller
I've said it before, I wish I was shorter... you're lucky, I was more than happy when I measured my height this year and found I haven't grown up anymore since last year :)

wow i think that's kinda short, here where I live(which is an asian country) girls are in average like 5"5" atleast. But it doesn't really matter how tall or skinny you are. I don't see the difference, there are some really pretty girls that are really short, so what? doesn't matter

It's very true; I see 4'10"-5'2" girls at college all the time, and 5'3" stands out amongst them, so it's really average.

Some girls are done growing by age 13 or so. On average I would say girls stop growing at 15 or 16. I would say that girls could grow until age 17 or 18, but that is probably very very uncommon. Regardless, Hudgens is 5'1.5 and she isnt going to grow anymore.
