It takes quite some guts, I feel, to wear trainers or sneakers with a dress or a skirt, especially if you need the extra height afforded by heels.
Sometimes, though, you just can't be bothered to clomp about in high heels, especially on a hot day. I went out fairly recently wearing a smart skirt suit but it was too hot to wear high heels or boots, and I was in pain, so I thought, "*** it! I'll have to forego the extra height that heels give me. I'm wearing trainers!" 😝
I was far more comfortable and happy and even received a compliment from a lady. That's because I felt good, and was in less pain; if you feel relaxed and carefree, it shows! A height boost is always handy and welcome, but it's not imperative. 🤷♀️
At 5ft6, Ashley is taller than many girls, and could easily achieve the height of 5ft9 or 5ft10 in shoes, but on that particular day, she was dressing to please herself and she felt at her best.
