Actually Barrack Obama gets his shoes made by a specialist in Chicago. He had an aligment problem when he was a child. (His doctor was a family friend) He is actually only 5'10" without his shoes. I don't see where ACG gets 6'3" for Ford from, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ford was 6'1" at his peak. Speaking of which, why is no one talking about peak heights for presidents, considering most came into office after age 50?
I always heard in school that Lincoln was 6'4", so 6'3.75" adds up. But, considering that he wasn't very high-profile before his presidency, I doubt there are any surviving medical records for him at his peak height. He was probably over 6'4" then, maybe even close to 6'5". I mean, he was most likely in his fifties when he was measured 6'3.75", and the taller you are, the faster and more severely you lose height. I once actually heard that Lincoln had some type of medical condition (A flutter in his heart, somehow?) that caused him to grow that tall. Can anyone weigh in on this information's veracity?
Same thing about height loss for LBJ. He was in his fifties and sixties as President, which is probably when he was measured 6'3". So, he might have measured 6'4" or near it in his twenties.
