This is strange. He looked almost as tall as 6'1 Paul O'Grady on 'The Paul O'Grady Show'. Then again, O'Grady could in fact be 6'0 dead on nowadays and Conley could have been wearing lifts but he looked like he had normal footwear. Conley looked pretty tall when he guest hosted the show too.

Well, I found the videotape and it seems Conley isn't the six-footer which I remembered him as. These screencaps aren't ideal for height comparison purposes but I'd say they do show him as being at least a very strong 5'9" beside 5'11" Lewis Collins.

These are from 1999 by the way; Lewis had a brief and very funny cameo role in this one episode of The Grimleys, with Brian being of course a cast regular.

I also thought Conley was around 6'. There was an episode of The Grimleys in which 5'11" Lewis Collins played Conley's father, and Conley was noticeably the taller of the two. Conley played a gym teacher so would probably have been wearing trainers, and Collins played his perennial role of ex-SAS hard man, and was wearing army combat gear, with boots. I have the episode on videotape, so when I can find it I shall return with some screencaps.
