I would doubt she is as tall as 5ft 6, 5ft 4 seem about right, if you google her you get a picture of her with Liz Taylor and she is about 1.5 to 2" taller, Liz is probably about 5ft 2.5 so 5ft 4 would be right.
[Editor Rob: I've met Joan and in no way shape or form is she over 5ft 4, at 75 she still looked pretty remarkable.]

I asked somebody who spent a week on the set of Dynasty if he saw any special things done for height. He said all the males were in socks! Linda Evans in socks! Kathleen Bellar I think her name was, was in massive heels and on planks in every scene with males including a few shots on a box! I would have put her minimum 5ft 4, she looked taller in Dynasty as she was very slim then, she has a short body with slim hips and slim legs which gives a taller appearance that a pear shape Doug says on 25/Jun/09
