Julio Iglesias was a Goal Keeper in Real Madrid second team when was young. In a difficult week, the 1st team lots its main goal keepers due to some injuries, and he was called to be the substitute. UNFORTUNATELY/LUCKILY (who knows) he suffered a severe car crash before playing and stopped his career as a sport professional football player, and developed his career as one of the best singers in the world...
He was 1.84 m if I remember well.... he destroyed his back in the accident

I read 6 ft 1 for him, probably a shoe measurement. Now one could call his music cheesy but some of his songs are actually good and well sung in Spanish or Italian etc. Very few men could get away with it but he was the stereotypical Latin guy!!

I do remember Julio as a suave, sophisticated Spanish singer, not that his music was the sort I'd ever buy though! Definitely the tall, dark-haired heart-throb, so 6ft is easy to believe, and that's what Julio gets from me!

I'd always took for granted he was 6 ft 1. He could look it in some of the footage I've seen from the 70s. Looks barely recognizable above, looked a lot better in 80s/90 era as he reached middle age I think. He was genuinely a good singer in his prime, far better than his sons.
